No Troper Tales page so how about this: Why do the protagonists in the BubbleBobble series when they die with eyes stuck out by a literal black line always poof away in sparkly magic fairy dust? If I had my way, [[StuffBlowingUp I'd have them blow up.]] With nothing left behind. That's what the original game's "poofs" suggest to me.
