{{Darmok}}: Just curious here, are there any examples of the "asskicking of epic proportions"?
* Well, there was a convoluted example in XMen comics. Colossus hurt Shadowcat. Wolverine manoeuvered Colossus into a bar fight with the Juggernaut (in which, needless to say, Colossus received an asskicking of epic proportions. I seem to recall at one point Juggernaut hit him with the bar). Then, when it was done, Wolverine told Colossus that if he hurt Shadowcat ''again'', worse would result...
{{Tabby}}: I never watched the show, but ISTR hearing that there was one in Roseanne.
{{Darmok}}: Yeah, I seem to remember a scene where Dan puts on his coat and walks out of the house without saying a word. (To some audience applause, if I recall correctly.) Was it Jackie's husband? Did he receive the "If you ever do anything to hurt her..." speech?
{{Eran of Arcadia}} I remember it happened in the movie DEBS, but I can't be bothered to look up the details . . . interesting because the one who said it had never been anything more than a friend to the one being "protected".
{{Ophicius}}: Moved Troper examples to TroperTales
{{Arivne}}: Merged the two identical BuffyTheVampireSlayer examples and added the ''{{DEBS}}'' example.
{{Arivne}}: Deleted the following from [[foldercontrol]]
[[folder: Male Warning Male ]]
because it isn't this trope:
* In ''{{Fallout}} 3'', you can use this on the Overseer, saying that Amata (his daughter, your best friend) trusts you, and you could, and would, harm her if he messed with you again.
