I'd like to ask, would the SpacePirates from the ''{{Metroid}}'' series fit this trope? They're unethical, use their own as test subjects, and produce a lot of CoolButInefficient tech. A number of the scans from ''MetroidPrime'' show just how unethical their experiments get.
