Jordan: It occurs to me, making someone where a barrel was an old punishment for being drunk in public, and I wonder if this where the association between that and poverty- this is what the "town drunk" would be wearing.

L-chan: Even if no one ''wears'' it specifically, can I count the barrel from ElChavoDelOcho? Since the one who uses it is, technically, the poorest one on the neigborhour, and there is also the symbolism of the other peoples being "fallen".
