AndrewLeprich: I might have a possible video game trope, related to but distinct from TakeYourTime (in fact, one could argue it's TakeYourTime in reverse). Let's say you have ten minutes to escape from a building before it explodes, but you make it out with a good three minutes to spare. The second you leave, the building explodes, which is nonsensical because, well, it shouldn't explode for another three minutes. Obviously, this is done because the developers want to show the building explode for dramatic effect, yet they can't expect the player to patiently wait around for three minutes and be happy about it. Prominent examples are the opening segment of ''FinalFantasyVII'' and the final mission of ''GrandTheftAuto: San Andreas''. Any name ideas? AlwaysJustInTime would work, but it seems to imply an idea too similar to the one put forth by TakeYourTime and would confuse things. Possible names: AlwaysRightAfterYou, ThatWasClose, UnreliableCountdownTimer, ...?
{{LTR}} - I know that in Goldeneye, in the Statue Park mission, you as Bond have a set number of minutes to race from one end of the park to the other to rescue Natalya from a TimeBomb. Even if you reach her with plenty of time to spare, you get the message "Proximity Fuse Triggered" and the countdown ramps down immediately to 5 seconds, it's still enough time to get to safety, but seems like a cheap trick to get that dramatic fireball.
Perhaps it should be mentioned in accordance with the MagicCountdown?
AndrewLeprich: Good call on the Goldeneye example, and yeah this is definitely related to the MagicCountdown. It seems to me that this is essentially the video game version of it. Personally I'm leaning towards ThatWasClose as a name. What do you guys think? Addendum: I've decided on AlwaysClose as a name, as I believe it reflects the trope more clearly.

AndrewLeprich: This trope could probably use a name change to something less broad and more concise. I really like AlwaysRightAfterYou. Thoughts?
{{Seth}}: I think this name summs up the trope pretty well. No matter how much time you have left, you are AlwaysClose to being late. AlwaysRightBehindYou sounds like something that would describe that racing trope where the Ai is always just behind you (RubberBandAI i think) but it really doesn't work for this page.
