"Absolute Territory" (''zettai ryouiki'' (絶対領域) in Japanese) describes the area of bare skin exposed on the thighs between the skirt and stockings or socks for female characters. The term and the trope come from {{anime}} and {{manga}}, with the term being used as an homage to the [[DeflectorShields AT fields]] in ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion''.

Zettai Ryouiki is made up of three components: [[AddedAlliterativeAppeal socks (or stockings), skin, and skirt]].[[note]]The golden ratio for the ultimate zettai ryouiki is 4:1:2.5 (length of skirt : zettai ryouiki : length of socks above knee) and the acceptable margin for error is ±25%.For more info, check this [[http://kevo.dasaku.net/?p=92 article.]][[/note]] As per usual for fandom who [[{{Cosplay}} obsess about costumes]], this can be considered a {{moe}} attribute and thus, appear prominently in character designs and [[{{Seifuku}} schoolgirl outfits]], [[CustomUniformOfSexy despite the fact that it kind of defeats the point of a uniform]].

Since a Zettai Ryouiki is defined by the length of the stockings or socks, some people have categorized it into grades depending on the length of the socks. This ranking system goes from Grade F to Grade A[[note]]Some even include a [[RankInflation Grade S]] (Grade A + {{Tsundere}} + TwinTails), which started as an InJoke based on Rin Tohsaka of ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight''[[/note]]. However, only Grades A (and thus S) and B are considered true Zettai Ryouiki.

As a relatively new phenomenon, the symbolism of Zettai Ryouiki only recently began to crystallize. Since it is, by nature, a sensual costume that symbolizes budding, innocent sexuality, as well as being as a stimulant for imagination and fantasies, it's a common trait for TheIngenue who is already aware of her attractiveness but not (yet) cynical enough to put it to use (which is why many a {{Tsundere}} wears Zettai Ryouiki). Of course, as with any symbols, GenreSavvy characters can {{invoke|d trope}} it on purpose even if they're not related nor do they consider themselves part of the associated archetype.

It has gained popularity around the world, especially in Japan, where it is a very popular fashion item with girls and young women, so the occurrence of Zettai Ryouiki can be regarded as TruthInTelevision.

An ActionGirl may trade the skirt for [[WhoWearsShortShorts hotpants]] but if it doesn't include thigh-highs and visible skin, it's not Zettai Ryouiki. This trope not only covers socks, but ThighHighBoots as well.

See also {{Joshikousei}} (a school uniform this trope is often combined with), StockingFiller (for stockings without the skirts), MiniDressOfPower, WhoWearsShortShorts, and ShesGotLegs. The core reason for this may also be tied to the TheissTitillationTheory. Compare with OperaGloves and DetachedSleeves, which are the equivalents for arms. Contrast ProperTightsWithASkirt.

As the length of this page proves, Zettai Ryouiki is SeriousBusiness.

Examples should be limited to Rank A and B. Use the page image to identify them. Also, be objective in writing the examples, without getting into {{fetish|Fuel}}izing.

[[folder:Anime & Manga]]
* Kurumi's school uniform in ''Manga/HaouAiren''. Also Reilan, who combines it with a {{Qipao}} shirt as part of her school clothes.
* Shana in ''LightNovel/ShakuganNoShana''.
* Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Valliere in ''LightNovel/ZeroNoTsukaima''. As an {{Expy}} of {{Shana| Clone}}, this isn't surprising.
* Taiga from ''{{LightNovel/Toradora}}'', not surprising for another expy of [[LightNovel/ZeroNoTsukaima Louise]]. It also gets [[{{Fanservice}} a lot of attention in the opening credits]].
* Aria H. Kanzaki from ''LightNovel/HidanNoAria'', yet [[FountainOfExpies another]] TwinTails wearing {{Tsundere}} voiced by RieKugimiya, who happens to be one of her schools elite [[LampshadeHanging S Rank]] students. Her zettai ryouiki are known to magically shift between A and B whenever she reveals the dual thigh holsters that she somehow keeps [[HiddenWeapons hidden]] under her skirt.
* ''Anime/CodeGeass''
** Kallen Stadtfeld in her school uniform, not to mention her CustomUniform. She is also credited with popularizing the hotpants+socks variety of Zettai Ryouiki.
** C.C's new black outfit in ''R2'' also uses the hotpants + socks variation.
** [[http://i36.tinypic.com/jb1udt.jpg Suzaku might also have a fondness for Zettai Ryouiki]]. Sorta.
** Nunnally gets to use a B Grade Ryouiki in the ''Knightmare of Nunnally'' manga, as it's included in the Ashford Academy's middle school uniform. Same goes to AlphaBitch Ekaterina, her GirlPosse, and Nunners's [[TomboyAndGirlyGirl best friend]] [[ExtraordinarilyEmpoweredGirl Alice]].
** Anya gets to use a Grade A while in her Knight of Rounds uniform.
** The technical term for the near-impenetrable shield with which the Shinkirou is equipped is the Absolute Defensive Territory (''Zettai Shugo Ryouiki''). Don't ''tell'' me, especially given the amount of real Ryouiki in this series, that that's not tongue-in-cheek ''par extraordinaire'' on the part of the writers.
** One of the two protagonists(?) of the upcoming ''Boukoku no Akito'', Layla [[http://yusa.imouto.org/image/766d1945949d835475fe7a0c2d9e2201/moe%20168219%20code_geass%20hyuuga_akito%20kimura_takahiro%20layla_%28code_geass%29.jpg (the girl on the left)]] has a Grade B.
** The comedy manga compilation ''Knight'' Volume 2 has a story ("Decide for Yourself" by Hina Mido) where C.C. actually launches into a rant about Zettai Ryouiki when Lelouch dismisses her question of "thigh-high versus knee socks" with "doesn't matter to me". Sadly this gets LostInTranslation, but anyone familiar with the concept can tell the original intent of the rant.
-->'''C.C.:''' What did you just say!? Are you stupid? This is for a school uniform! I'm talking about a mini-skirt! The knee-length socks which show our shiny knees, or thigh highs that highlight the area between the edge of our skirt and our thighs! If you don't have a hard time choosing between these socks, you don't know anything about school uniforms.
* Touka, the daughter of the Tennouji Family (from ''LightNovel/NogizakaHarukaNoHimitsu'' 2nd season), has a Grade A Zettai Ryouiki, aside from twin tails and tsundere spoiled brat personality, making it a Grade S.
* Love interest Rion Akagami wears this in ''Manga/CageOfEden'', even when they're stuck on a tropical island inhabited by hordes of prehistoric animals.
* ''Manga/LuckyStar''
** Featured in the opening. The BSide of the ''Lucky Star'' opening song single, "Kaeshite! Knee Socks", is pretty much entirely about thigh-highs. Naturally, [[DirtyOldMan Konata's father]] mentions it in one of the series' many {{Seinfeldian Conversation}}s.
** Ayano Minegishi has this as part of her school uniform.
** Kagami occasionally gets in on this too ([[http://burogublog.wordpress.com/2008/06/08/the-art-and-science-of-zettai-ryouiki/ about halfway down this page]]). Combined with her long GirlishPigtails and {{Tsundere}}ness, we have ourselves another Grade S.
** Finally, in some of the manga sketches, [[OlderThanTheyLook Konata and Yutaka]] have this as well.
* ''Anime/MazingerZ'': Sayaka Yumi tended to wear short skirts whether she was wearing her school uniform or casual clothes. And later in the series she wore a ''very'' short white-red skirt and knee-length, white boots. In the manga versions more female characters wore attires or uniforms that showed their tights, such like the Gamia or [[spoiler:Minerva-X in ''ShinMazingerZero''.]]
* Chiaki Minami,(occasionally worn by Kana at home) also the standard uniform in her school in ''{{Manga/Minami-ke}}''.
* Kurumi Momose and Yuma Kashiwagi in ''Anime/PaniPoniDash''.
* Matsuri Shihou's excellent Zettai Ryouiki is likely the source of her immortality in ''{{Anime/Sola}}''.
* Seems to be a part of the standard school uniform in ''Manga/ZombieLoan''.
* Similarly, it appears to be part of Stellvia Foundation uniform in ''Anime/StellviaOfTheUniverse''.
* Yomi in ''Manga/AzumangaDaioh''.
* Sai Hinoki from ''{{Anime/Betterman}}'' is a good example for this trope.
* Pretty much standard uniform for all female crew members in ''Anime/StarshipOperators'', but considering it is a ShowWithinAShow, one could blame it on SexSells.
* ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikerS''
** Nanoha and Fate's basic Barrier Jackets in the third season seem to have been designed with this in mind.
** Fate's Barrier Jacket in the first two seasons, as well, and Nanoha's normal outfits (non-Barrier Jacket, non-school uniform) from those seasons. And the Lieze twins (''very'' perfect "A" Grade). And Vita's normal non-combat outfit (only "B"-Grade, which is sad because she meets both of the added requirements for a Grade S). And [[{{Tsundere}} Teana's]] Barrier Jacket and military uniform. And [[ChurchMilitant Sister Schach]]. Yeah, this show runs on {{Fanservice}}, alright.
** There's also the strange case of Reinforce, who has... [[FashionableAsymmetry only one sock]]. Reinforce Zwei, too - who has a long sock on the opposite leg from the original Reinforce.
** And now ''Manga/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaViVid'' adds [[ThoseTwoGirls Corona]], as well as Lio and Einhart in their Barrier Jackets.
** Young Nanoha sported these in the OP of the first series.
* ''{{Manga/ARIA}}'':
** Alice since it's part of her school uniform, making her of the very few main characters who wears something else aside from her undine outfit.
** Aika wears the variety with shorts in Aria the Natural ep 19.
* Princess Rita Sior in ''Anime/SistersOfWellber''.
* Seemingly part of the school outfit on ''VisualNovel/SchoolDays''. It's also [[LampshadeHanging humorously refered to]], as an army of school girls in short skirts activate Zettai Ryouiki by putting on knee socks in an attempt to draw more people to their classroom for the SchoolFestival. This instance is doubly notable as the last comedic occurrence in the anime before things go straight to hell.
* It's also part of the school outfit in the one Margaret attends in ''{{Anime/Madlax}}''.
* And Kagura Tennouzou's school in ''Anime/SpeedGrapher''. IIRC, Kagura also uses Zettai Ryouki when she dones a very {{Stripperiffic}} outfit as the Divine Goddess.
* Yui and Haruna's school in ''Anime/CorrectorYui'' also has it as a part of its standard outfit. Yui's elemental suit makes the skirt, or even panties, pretty much pointless while initiating, also.
* ''Manga/MahouSenseiNegima''. Considering that Ken Akamatsu has written about moe on his blog, this is certainly intentional, and shows up quite often, on Yue Ayase, Evangeline, [[RobotGirl Chachamaru]] (After her MidSeasonUpgrade, she seems to have the stocking component built into her synthetic skin, Ako, Natsumi and Akira in the Magic World, Nodoka, the other girls from Yue's magic academy, [[http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zr.jpg Asuna (Grade S, even)]], Anya (also Grade S), Chisame and Makie, Yuna, Takane D. Goodman, Setsuna (on rare occasions), Ku Fei... even ''Negi'' joins in for a moment during a [[WholesomeCrossdresser crossdressing]] InstantCosplaySurprise during the school festival (as if the fox girl outfit wasn't enough).
* Yuuki Cross, and several of the female characters in ''Manga/VampireKnight'' wear these.
* [[http://i411.photobucket.com/albums/pp192/Shyninjagirl28/InuYasha%20Forever/Fruits%20Basket/Momiji_on_Yuki.jpg Momiji Sohma]] from ''Manga/FruitsBasket'' is another male version, when he wears the [[WholesomeCrossdresser girls']] [[DudeLooksLikeALady uniform]] [[http://download.minitokyo.net/Momiji.Sohma.51033.jpg at school]]. Motoko (the president of Yuki's fan club) is also a good example.
* ''{{VideoGame/Gungrave}}'': Mika occasionally wears this.
* Shiori Takatsuki in the ''Anime/RevolutionaryGirlUtena'' movie. (''Zettai unmei mokushi-ryouiki!'' Um... sorry.)
* Scheris Adjani rocks a class B in her [[CustomUniform HOLY uniform]] in ''Anime/SCryed'', though thanks to her incredibly short skirt it may be misconstrued as a class C.
* ''{{Franchise/Gundam}}''
** Flay Allster and Miriallia Haww in ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED'', since this is a part of their military cadet uniform. When Lunamaria "Luna" Hawke became a redcoat in ZAFT and asked for a [[CustomUniform customized uniform]] with a pink miniskirt, she also added long black socks to it.
** Both [[{{Yandere}} Nena Trinity]] and [[CoolBigSis Christina Sierra]] from ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam00'' also use the hotpants variety. In Season 1, Nena combines it with socks; in season 2, she switches to the long boots version. Mena Carmine,[[spoiler:Nena's IdenticalStranger]] wears thigh-high boots paired with a miniskirt.
** In ''Anime/MobileFighterGGundam'', Sai Saici's girlfriend [[{{Moe}} Cecile Holgar]] usually wears Grade B. Rain also gets a Grade B when she uses the [[LatexSpaceSuit Mobile Trace System]] and suits up for fighting.
* Shino in ''[[Franchise/DotHack .hack//Roots]]'' and her {{Expy}} Atoli in the ''G.U.'' games.
* ''Manga/ToLoveRu''
** Lala Satalin Deviluke
** [[http://www.anymanga.com/to-love-ru-trouble/007/009/010/ Yami]] manages to pull one off here as well[[note]]The costume is a homage to Eve from ''Manga/BlackCat'', whom Yami is an {{Expy}} of[[/note]]. It ranks as a Grade A.
* The three heroines of ''Ultimate Girls''.
* Part of the standard uniform for most schools in ''Anime/KyoshiroToTowaNoSora'', and since the appropriately-named Academia (the series' setting) is a scholastic city (everything is, or is related to or servicing, a school), that means just about every girl in the city falls into this trope. By law.
* Mishio Maeno in ''{{Anime/Mnemosyne}}''.
* ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf''
** Female!Ranma while disguised as Ryōga's nonexistent sister, Yoiko.
** Akane as well, on occasion, notably at the start of the Martial Skating arc.
* Tsuyuri in ''Manga/DoujinWork''.
* Frequently, Nico Robin of ''Manga/OnePiece'', if thigh-high boots count.
* Yoko from ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann'' goes the hotpants route (which Kamina gets a good long look at). She later switches out the socks for boots of about the same length. She's has a Grade A but is missing the GirlishPigtails required to qualify as Grade S.
* Several of the {{Manga/Claymore}}s wear these, ''[[ExposedToTheElements even in the dead of winter]]''. But they are [[HalfHumanHybrid Half-Human Hybrids]].
* ''LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya'': Haruhi wears this a couple of times.
** [[TheStoic Yuki]] is only a Grade C, [[SelfFanservice but tends to become a B or an A in fan art.]]
* ''Manga/RosarioToVampire'': Kokoa Shuzen, Mizore Shirayuki, and Yukari Sendo. With the [[GirlishPigTails hair]], and the [[{{Tsundere}} attitude]] Kokoa bumps up to Grade S! However with Mizore, they actually make it an obvious part of her {{Moe}} factor, when attempting to seduce Tsukune during moments with his [[HaremGenre Harem]].
* ''Franchise/YuGiOh''
** Anzu used the hotpants + socks once, more exactly in the Marik and Noa arcs. Anzu also wears the socks + miniskirt in one of the ending animations.
** [[http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa208/sparkleneko/rei.gif Rei]] of ''Anime/YuGiOhGX''.
** Aki of ''Anime/YuGiOh5Ds''.
** Kotori of ''Anime/YuGiOhZEXAL'' sports Grade A in one of her recurring outfits, as does Yuma's "Gagaga Clerk" card. Kotori's other outfits tend to feature this to some degree.
* ''Franchise/DragonBall''
** ''Anime/DragonBallZ''. Rare male example: Zarbon. [[http://dbzs.jp/meteor/img/chara/03/zarbon.jpg Even if it's less hotpants than it is underpants.]]
** Bra Briefs in ''Anime/DragonBallGT''.
* The trope is OlderThanTheyThink: the belted dress-shorts and boots version was used by Mia from ''Anime/RoninWarriors''.
* And even ''older'': Megumi from ''Anime/VoltesV'' uses the uniform miniskirt plus boots version.
* The eponymous "Black God" of ''Manga/Kurokami'' gets one when Akane dresses her up.
* Tsukino Azusagawa from ''Manga/YakitateJapan''.
* Jun's birdstyle in ''Anime/ScienceNinjaTeamGatchaman'' (a.k.a. ''Anime/BattleOfThePlanets'').
* ''{{Anime/Pokemon}}''
** Jessie's Team Rocket miniskirt and thigh-high boots in the anime.
** Also, Lyra from both the anime and ''Pokémon [=HeartGold=] and [=SoulSilver=]'' sports a Grade B shorts version.
** In the ''Manga/PokemonSpecial'' manga, Dawn's counterpart, Platinum, has higher stockings making her closer to a Grade B.
** Serena's anime outfit is a Grade A.
* Rosette from ''Manga/ChronoCrusade'' has thigh-high stockings and slits up to nearly her waist in her militia uniform, making it a variation of this trope.
* ''Manga/DGrayMan'': Lenalee Lee. When you think about it, she's actually got Grade S Zettai Ryouiki at first, what with her GirlishPigtails and all (though she's not much of a {{Tsundere}}). That is, until the whole [[TraumaticHaircut Eshi incident]]. And her socks/boots give her magical powers. No, really.
* Seras Victoria from ''Hellsing'', both [[{{Anime/Hellsing}} anime]] and [[{{Manga/Hellsing}} manga]].
* Shinobu from ''Manga/NininGaShinobuden'' (a.k.a ''Ninja Nonsense''). Extra points for doing this with a ninja outfit.
* ''{{Manga/Naruto}}''
** Karin. She also gets points for pulling it off with a ninja uniform (for ninja in the service of Orochimaru, no less), though she uses shorts instead of a skirt.
** [[spoiler:Naruto's mother]] Kushina also liked the look when she was young.
** Hinata wears them during the 300th episode Milestone celebration.
* Alsh the {{vampire}} from ''Bloody Kiss'' has his preferred Zettai Ryouiki at 10-15 cm.
* ''Manga/LoveHina''
** Kaolla Suu seems to wear this quite a bit in the manga.
** Naru also wears this from time to time and [[http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_517ga6fxt_9922.jpg the cover of book 7]] she manages Grade A and OperaGloves ''at the same time''.
* Himeko from ''Manga/HimechanNoRibon'' is a borderline Grade B.
* ''Manga/HayateTheCombatButler''
** Nagi and Sakuya. The former a bona fide Grade S.
** Hinagiku tends towards the hot pants variety, and also gets points for being {{Tsundere}}, but no twin-tails.
** Even Isumi joins in on occasion.
** In the season 2 first opening, Ha--, er, Hermione gets the treatment, with [[AttractiveBentGender the usual result]].
* Faye Valentine from ''Anime/CowboyBebop'', though with hot pants and not a skirt.
* In the 4th season of ''LightNovel/MariasamaGaMiteru'' Yumi Fukuzawa starts dressing this way outside of school.
* In ''Manga/PandoraHearts'', this appears to be the Latowidge School girl's uniform. Note that this is not an all-girl's school, either.
* Sumire's high school in ''Manga/VenusVersusVirus'' apparently has this as part of the school uniform, and most of her casual outfits have this as well, ranging from Grade C to Grade A.
* ''{{Anime/Bakugan}}''
** Runo in ''Bakugan: New Vestroia'' is Grade ''S''. (In ''Bakugan Battle Brawlers'', she was a thoroughly unremarkable C-Grade, though she already had the other two parts of the S requirements). Sadly, she and the other two main girls from ''Battle Brawlers'' [[DemotedToExtra are pretty much gone by the second episode]].
** Mira returns in Mechtanium Surge with a new grade A outfit.
* The sisters Mawata and Mayune from ''{{Manga/Pretear}}''.
* ''LightNovel/BludgeoningAngelDokurochan''. Dokuro has got to be at least a Grade A, maybe even S.
* The eponymous Shion of ''Manga/ShionNoOu'' exhibits Grade A Zettai Ryouiki, usually with a red miniskirt and white thigh highs.
* ''{{Anime/Mai-HiME}}''
** [[DarkMagicalGirl Nao]] [[FilleFatale Yuuki]] uses Grade B, especially when she's enticing older men to "date" her.
** [[KnightTemplar Haruka Suzushiro]] is notable for being the only high school girl that sports it; all the other ones wear socks. Also Grade B.
* This seems to be part of the standard uniform in ''{{Anime/Mai-Otome}}''.
* From 2007 onwards it was a requisite that at least one team member in a ''Anime/PrettyCure'' continuity had this:
** Urara/Cure Lemonade in ''Anime/YesPrettyCure5'' and its OddlyNamedSequel ''Yes Pretty Cure 5 [=GoGo=]''
** Miki/Cure Berry in ''Anime/FreshPrettyCure''
** Erika/Cure Marine in ''Anime/HeartcatchPrettyCure''
** Hibiki/Cure Melody and [[spoiler: Ellen]]/Cure Beat in ''Anime/SuitePrettyCure''
** Akane/Cure Sunny in ''Anime/SmilePrettyCure''
* Blue from ''Manga/WolfsRain'' uses thigh-high boots and a peacoat.
* The latest volume of ''{{Manga/Nora}}'' has Keini in Grade A. She already had the other two components for Grade S.
* Sumika from ''Manga/SasamekiKoto''.
* Most people don't notice, but ''Anime/MacrossFrontier'' actually has a lot of this.
** Nanase wears the traditonal variant with her school uniform.
** Ranka Lee has it with one of her stage outfits.
** Sheryl wears both the traditional and hot pants versions as well as a {{stripperiffic}}, one-legged version.
** Klan is Grade S.
* [[http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_msrM9WWVh4M/TEHFj1Tm-OI/AAAAAAAAAAU/C47xrI-mh3s/s1600/11.jpg Yuki Nomura]] from ''Manga/NoBra''. And you'll probably not believe it, but that's a [[WholesomeCrossdresser male example]].
* Nodoka of ''{{Manga/Saki}}'' almost has all the requirements needed for Grade S. Just lacks the [[{{Tsundere}} personality]]. Yuuki wears a very suspicious one too, and her personality is a bit more fitting as well.
* Ellis from ''Anime/ElCazadorDeLaBruja''.
* ''LightNovel/KazeNoStigma''
** Kanon (one of Ren's school friends) wears A-Rank in both her school uniform and her street clothes. She also has twin-tails; unfortunately, she is not a {{Tsundere}}.
* Nodamiki from ''Manga/GAGeijutsukaArtDesignClass'', at least in her anime incarnation.
* Aoba Kozue from ''{{Manga/Mahoraba}}'' wears them as part of her personal wardrobe.
* Kenichi's sister Honoka in ''Manga/KenichiTheMightiestDisciple''. Shigure also wears it regularly.
* Umino Masachika of ''Manga/SatouKashiNoDanganWaUchinukenai'' sports a solid Tybe B while wearing her school uniform. Most of her classmates wear there stockings somewhere below the knee.
* ''Manga/KamenNoMaidGuy'' has TokenMiniMoe Liz wearing this. And she even has the twin pigtails.
* These seem to be part of the school uniform in ''LightNovel/SeitokaiNoIchizon''. Even when they're wearing swimsuits, the stockings remain.
* The default female cadet uniform aboard the ''Libertad'' in ''Anime/SoukouNoStrain'' is very definitely Grade A.
* Yukino's rival Maho Izawa in ''Manga/KareKano''. This is actually included in the default winter/autumn uniform of their school, but Maho wears it outside school too.
* The girls from ''{{Manga/Is}}''. This manga is '''full''' of Grade A & B.
* Sieglinde Baumgard from ''Anime/DragonautTheResonance''.
* Emba from ''Manga/WildRock'' sports a Grade A male version of this (other characters too, but his is the most obvious).
* Airi of ''Anime/QueensBlade'' fame/infamy qualifies. If she were Tsundere, she might possibly be Grade S.
* Ran Mouri/Rachel Moore from ''CaseClosed''/''Manga/DetectiveConan'' sports the look from time to time. It's quite noticeable [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Yl9LOFRWGQ in the first OP]], where she uses Type A... If she wore pigtails, her Type B {{Tsundere}} traits would give her a Grade S.
* Hitagi Senjōgahara from ''{{LightNovel/Bakemonogatari}}'', who would be a Grade S if {{Kuudere}} counts for the personality factor.
* Lunar of ''Manga/SetoNoHanayome'': Double Pigtails? (Check), {{Tsundere}}? (check). Yep, we have Grade S.
* Madoka Ayukawa from ''Manga/KimagureOrangeRoad'' tends to use both A and B. Another one who is GirlishPigtails away from hitting Grade S.
** Hikaru Hiyama uses both A and B as well.
* ''Manga/BlackButler''
** Maylene [[spoiler:in snipermode]] [[http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/yy100/Pookah83/maylene.jpg comes to mind as well.]]
** Even Ciel too in the manga when he becomes Smile.
** Alois has the hotpants variation.

* In a non-schoolgirl-related example, the eponymous Nana Osaki of ''{{Manga/Nana}}'' likes to mix this [[http://www.damagedsoul.net/nana/gallery/c014.jpg with]] [[http://www.damagedsoul.net/nana/gallery/c114.jpg garter]] [[http://www.damagedsoul.net/nana/gallery/c018.jpg belts]].
* Cute devil Dark Mu, of the ''[[TMNT1987 Mutant Turtles: Legend of the Super Mutants]]'' OVA, sports this look combining [[LadyInRed red thigh-high boots with an equally red minidress]].
* Aoi from ''{{Manga/Working}}'' wears these.
* In ''Manga/BGataHKei'', the protagonist Yamada can be seen showing off Grade A while wearing her cheerleader outfit in the series opening.
* Madoka from ''Anime/MetalFightBeyblade'' sports Grade A.
* Kiara the Amaranthine from ''Manga/ThereBeyondTheBeyond''.
* ''Anime/AngelBeats''
** Yuri sports a Grade B throughout the series.
** Shiori Sekine (the bassist) has Grade A.
* ''Manga/ShugoChara''
** Utau has a Grade A in her black uniform. Add her signature twin tails and her tsundere attitude, and Utau Hoshina is officially a Grade S! [[spoiler:Not to mention her Lunatic Charm costume, as well as Dark Jewel and Seraphic Charm. And Seraphic Charm's supposed to be angelic.]]
** Several of Amu's casual outfits have Grade A as well. [[http://shugochara.wikia.com/wiki/File:DVD_02.jpg]]
** And Amulet Spade, which, instead of a skirt, has short shorts and adds garter belts.
** Amulet Diamond had a Grade A and Amu wears pigtails while transformed, although she is usually not tsundere.
** [[http://shugochara.wikia.com/wiki/File:-amulet_clover-.jpg Amulet Clover]] has a Grade A and pigtails as well.
* Sae from ''AmagamiSS'' often displays this when in her school uniform, as does Kaoru in her waitress outfit (much to the protagonist Junichi's delight during her arc).
* Mitsuba and Miku from ''{{Manga/Mitsudomoe}}''.
** Sometimes Hitoha.
* Chocola and Vanilla from ''Manga/SugarSugarRune'' both have Zettai Ryouiki, Chocola with a Grade A and Vanilla with a Grade D. [[spoiler:How much you wanna bet that 90% of the time Pierre stares at Chocola's legs instead of her face?]]
* ''Manga/SoulEater''
** In the second ending for the anime, Maka's got some of this thing going on, specifically Grade A.
** Not to mention Blair, who has a Grade A with her thigh high boots and witch dress.
** And many variations of Maka's Spartoi uniform feature thigh highs.
** Kim Diehl and her weapon Jacqueline (who usually wear matching uniforms).
** Tsubaki has Grade A and combines it with FashionableAsymmetry in her Spartoi uniform.
* Kirino from ''LightNovel/OreNoImoutoGaKonnaNiKawaiiWakeGaNai'' displays Grade A in the fourth episode of the anime. Varying degrees can also be seen in some of the games she plays, which should come as no surprise given that she's a secret {{eroge}} {{otaku}}.
* ''{{Manga/Bleach}}''
** The Arrancar Loly uses the boots plus miniskirt version -- Grade A, more exactly. Since she has GirlishPigtails, the only thing keeping her away from Grade S is being a {{Yandere}} instead of a {{Tsundere}}.
** Once [[spoiler:the Hueco Mundo arc is over and she becomes a senior in Karakura High]], Orihime Inoue starts wearing [[http://manga.bleachexile.com/bleach-chapter-454-page-11.html Grade A]].
** New character [[http://www.mangarush.com/manga/bleach/428/p-8 Riruka Dokugamine]] has turned out to be a Grade S.
** Anime-only Nozomi Kujo goes between Grades A and C depending on how she's drawn at the moment, but usually is a B.
* In ''Manga/HighSchoolOfTheDead'', [[http://download.minitokyo.net/High.School.of.the.Dead.336732.jpg Rei]] has Grade A in her uniform and [[http://furuanimepanikku.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/saeko.jpg Saeko]] has Grade A (plus garterbelts) when she borrows Rika's clothes.
* Kusakabe Maron, from ''Manga/KamikazeKaitouJeanne'', definitely counts. As a matter of fact, it seems this is part of the uniform.
* There's a ton in ''Anime/BlackRockShooter''. It would seem that the girls' outfits are designed the way they are so that it would be easier for them to move. [[http://images.wikia.com/blackrockshooter/images/c/c7/Maidgunner.jpg Maid Gunner]] has thigh highs that would have made her a Grade B, but her skirt is too long for her to qualify. It only counts for Zettai Ryouiki when her skirt flies up to, not a panty shot, but high enough that the tops of her thigh highs are visible.
* Ryuuko Kounuma from ''Manga/WolfGuyWolfenCrest'' wears [[http://www.mangafox.com/manga/wolf_guy_ookami_no_monshou/v07/c065/3.html a one legged version]]. Sadly, in that particular picture it's mixed with FanDisservice as [[spoiler:she's tied up to invoke DistressedDamsel as a part of Haguro's plan.]]
* Maria from the ''{{Anime/Witchblade}}'' anime gets these after her personality changes.
* All {{Magical Girl}}s from ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'' except [[ProperTightsWithASkirt Homura]]. Madoka is a Grade A in her school uniform and a Grade C in her MagicalGirl uniform. Sayaka is a Grade C in school and Grade A MagicalGirl uniform. Mami is somewhat between Grades B and A in her transformed uniform, and Kyouko is a Grade A when transformed.
** [[spoiler: Until, the [[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagicaTheMovieRebellion Rebellion movie]] where Homura finally wears this in her Homucifer mode.]]
* Several characters in ''{{Manga/Freezing}}'' have some form of Zettai Ryouiki, as it seems to be a part of the standard Pandora outfit (even for battle!). The female lead is one of the few that do not, though she certainly attracts attention in other ways. (Underneath it she does have them.) Ganessa Roland is an unequivocal Grade S, however.
* ''Anime/PantyAndStockingWithGarterbelt''
** Fittingly enough, Kneesocks in is a Type A. Except when she takes off the kneesocks to turn them into scythes.
** Also Stocking herself, who transform hers into katanas.
* ''Manga/FairyTail''
** Erza Scarlet has a few armors that have donned this style and in some of the cover pages.
** Lucy on a few cover pages, and the clothes she gets from the Celestial Spirit World, usually has this.
** Wendy donned this in the Edolas arc and later on in the Tenrou Island arc.
** Mirajane's [[spoiler: Take Over: Satan Soul]] gives her this in [[ThighHighBoots boots.]]
** Angel
** Virgo
** Ultear and Meredy's battle outfits from the Tenrou Island arc.
** Juvia has Grade B under her dress as seen during her fight with Meredy.
* ''Anime/SailorMoon''
** Usagi displays a Grade S in the, well, "S" Movie.
** One of the outfits that Minako puts on in the opening sequence gives her a Grade A.
* Several girls in ''Manga/BlueExorcist'', but Kamiki Izumo is the only Grade S. She's got the thigh-highs, the tsundere personality, and her hair is (usually) in twin tails.
* ''LightNovel/InfiniteStratos'':
** The gym uniform, [[http://fabien.li//tvtropes/Infinite_Stratos_OP.jpg a swimsuit with stockings]], gives all the girls a clear grade A. More like skintight leg-warmers, though; the girls' ankles are also clearly visible.
** Houki also has it as a part of her uniform.
* Mio Isurugi from ''LightNovel/{{MM}}'' has Grade A and a tsundere personality, but no twin tails.
* Ageha the {{Shinigami}} from ''Manga/{{Rinne}}'' -- [[WomanInwhite white stockings with a white]] SailorFuku.
* Although their outfits change almost every episode in ''Anime/HimeChenOtogiChikkuIdolLilpri'', Natsuki/Princess Kaguya's standard princess outfit when using the Princess Fairytale card is grade A Zettai Ryouiki (borderline S). Surprising because she's technically wearing a ''[[KimonoFanservice kimono]]''. She also has grade A with thigh-high boots when she's untransformed but then she's somewhere around the age of eight...
* Emi Kisaki from ''Manga/KuroganeNoLinebarrel''. Her black uniform sports long socks that almost touch her little skirt. She is a grade A.
* It's rather jarring that no one has bothered to mention one of the iconic Zettai Ryouiki wearers, Rin Tohsaka of ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight''. A bonafide Class S, complete with Tsundere personality and Twintails.
* Haqua du Lot Herminium from ''Manga/TheWorldGodOnlyKnows'' is a grade A bordering on S due to her tsundere personality, but lacking the twintails.
* Fear and Konoha from ''LightNovel/CubeXCursedXCurious'' both sport Grade A. Konoha, with her GirlishPigtails, would be a Grade S if she were more ''tsun''.
* Asaka from ''Anime/CardfightVanguard'' sports a Grade B.
* Taiwan from ''Manga/AxisPowersHetalia'' wears a Grade A in ''Manga/{{Hetaween 2011}}'', while cosplayed as the virtual idol ''Silverlight''. ''May'' have bordered on Grade S if you see that she's wearing GirlishPigtails (which she doesn't, normally) and if you count her interactions with her brothers as her being {{Tsundere}}.
** Vietnam also wears a Grade A one with a short kimono in Halloween event 2013. Further than that, she gets a GirlishPigtails hairstyle and being {{Tsundere}} towards Taiwan somehow.
** The female uniform in the HighSchoolAU video game, Gakuen Hetalia seems to include a Grade C which Hungary, Liechtenstein, and Seychelles all sport.
* Maya Kumashiro from ''[[Anime/SeikimatsuOccultGakuin Occult Academy]]'' is a perfect example of the tsundere and zettai ryouiki as well.
* Medaka from ''Manga/MedakaBox'' has Grade B.
* Meroko of ''Manga/FullMoonOSagashite'' is Grade A because she's tsundere to everyone but Takuto, especially Izumi. Lacks the twintails though.
* ''Anime/OkusamaWaMahouShoujo'' has Cruje who wears a Grade A.
* ''Anime/Persona4TheAnimation'' has Rise Kujikawa sporting a Grade A (as does her VideoGame [[VideoGame/{{Persona 4}} counterpart]]).
* In ''Manga/BloodyCross'', Tsukimiya is between Grade A and B. Momose also has a Grade A in the outfit she wears in the first few chapters.
* ''Anime/SoraOKakeruShoujo''
** The Surre Academy female uniforms default to an A-Rank.
** Honoka in her regular clothes.
** Ituski, Boo, and Min's Q-Tector suits.
** Also Boo and Min's regular police uniforms.
** Nami's regular clothes and transformed state.
** Imo's android's maid uniform.
* About 85% of the cast of ''Anime/StrikeWitches'' manages a setting-specific variation between their striker units and [[NotWearingPants lack of pants]].
* Izumi Akazawa in ''Literature/{{Another}}'' has Grade A, [[GirlishPigtails twintails]], and also, she has {{tsundere}}-like personality.
* Corona from ''Anime/SpiderRiders'' wears thigh boots.
* Asuna from ''LightNovel/SwordArtOnline''.
* ''Literature/{{Hyouka}}''[='=]s second ending theme has Ibara Mayaka displaying grade A -- ''while dressed as [[Franchise/SherlockHolmes Watson]]''.
* Jasmine from ''Literature/DeltoraQuest'' has a Grade A.
* Nyarko from ''LightNovel/HaiyoreNyarkoSan'' sports Grade A in both her school uniform and her iconic outfit (the one with the black apron and checkerboard-pattern skirt). Cuuko is a Grade S in her school uniform.
* Pirotess from ''Roleplay/RecordOfLodossWar'', who has a Grade A with her miniskirt and thigh-high boots.
* Shizuku from ''Manga/SakuraTrick'' manages grade A. Despite a cast of seven girls, she's the only one to wear thigh-highs.
* ''LightNovel/KamisamaNoInaiNichiyoubi'' seems fond of this. Dee is the most obvious example, and the Gedenburg sisters from the Goran Academy arc also sport this. Even Ai starts going with this fashion in the later novels.
* Illya in ''Manga/FateKaleidLinerPrismaIllya'' when in MagicalGirl form is Grade A. Rin, as always, is Grade S. Kuro meanwhile is Grade A aiming for Grade S, with only the {{Tsundere}} aspect still in development (she has the {{Twintails}} down perfectly).
* In ''Anime/IlSolePenetraLeIllusioni'', Akari and Seira are both Grade A. Akari goes with the miniskirt/thigh-high socks combo, while Seira wears her thigh-highs with short shorts.
* Anime/GirlsUndPanzer has some of the eponymous girls sporting these (Bordering between Grade A and B): Saori, Aya Oono, Saemonza and Kay, the last one with either miniskirt (school uniform) or [[WhoWearsShortShorts shorts]] (during battles).
* ''Anime/MekakucityActors'': [[http://www.moetron.com/uploads/20140125_mekaku08.jpg Ene]] hovers somewhere between Grades A and B. She also qualifies for Grade S, being a twin-tailed {{Tsundere}} (albeit with more {{Troll}}-like behaviour than most examples).
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comic Books]]
* Tom Morello's ''Orchid'' of the eponymous comic book sports a grade A level of this.
* Envy in ''ComicBook/ScottPilgrim'', big time. She ranges from Grades C and B in volume 3 and manages to hit a solid A in volume 6.
** Hell, most of the main female characters exhibit it multiple times.
* Gwen Stacy is, [[ComicBook/SpiderMan in the mainstream continuity]] and ''Film/TheAmazingSpiderMan'', famous for this look.
* ComicBook/{{X-23}} at times sports this look in her civvies. Most evident in [[http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/scale_large/0/2868/100248-18171-107205-1-x-23-target-x.jpg this]] outfit from ''Target: X'', and in most of her clothing throughout ''ComicBook/{{NYX}}''.
* One of Jack Cole's ''Playboy'' comics featured a bar graph representing the past and projected growth of the American economy (or something like that) formed out of the stockings of three subjects. The caption has been lost, but the picture can be seen [[http://brandnewboxofmatches.tumblr.com/post/47461226279/jack-cole here]] (probably safe for work) and almost perfectly parallels the A-F scale.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Asian Animation]]
* The Korean version of ''Anime/MazingerZ'' called ''[[Animation/RobotTaekwonV Robot Taekwon V]]'' gives us Mary, who wears thigh-high boots and a short skirt. Early example.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Fan Works]]
* [[DistaffCounterpart Itsuko Koizumi and the female Computer Club President]] from ''FanFic/SuzumiyaHaruhiNoSeitenkan'' with their school uniforms. Kyonko as well if one is to include all those fanarts.
* LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya does it again in the FanFic reboot of her eponymous series, ''FanFic/SOSPrettyCure'' (available for reading on Wikia), where, being the InnocentFanserviceGirl she is, she does it not only with her uniform (complete with [[ModestyShorts one of her calling cards]]) during the winter but also as Cure Dio. With the latter, she even pairs it with [[WhoWearsShortShorts jean shorts]]!
* [[http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/OotS_manga.jpg This Fanpic]], from a series [[http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134764 reimagining the characters]] of ''Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick'' in [[{{Animesque}} manga style]], gives [[TheDarkChick Tsukiko]] a Zettai Ryouiki (leaning into Grade S, though she's more Yandere than Tsundere).
* There is a trend in [[MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Friendship is Magic]] fanart to draw ponies in socks. Some of the drawings invoke the {{Fanservice}} side of this trope.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Film]]
* Gwen Stacy (Creator/EmmaStone) in ''Film/TheAmazingSpiderMan''.
* Gretel in ''HanselAndGretelGetBaked'' starts as a Class C with shorts but shortly afterwards graduates to Class A for about 1/3 of the film.
* Christine after she's first been abducted by the Phantom in ''Film/ThePhantomOfTheOpera2004.''
* At the end of ''Film/{{RIPD}}'' when [[spoiler:Nick's disguise is "upgraded" to girl scout]].
* ''Film/ScottPilgrimVsTheWorld'':
** Ramona's skirt and stocking combo in the "changing scene."
** Knives's Ninja Ninja Revolution avatar.
* Babydoll in ''Film/SuckerPunch''.
* In ''Film/TheWolverine'', Yukio has a grade B when she first confronts Logan in the beginning.
* MANY of the girls of St. Trinians (the 2007 version) sport this look as well.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* In ''Series/DancingWithTheStars'', Season 11, one of Brandy's costumes had her dancing in a schoolgirl outfit with long stockings. Given the [[BelligerentSexualTension on-and-off tension]] between [[{{Tsundere}} Brandy]] and her partner [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Maksim]], this was probably a deliberate attempt to invoke Grade S Zettai Ryouiki.
* Geum Jan Di of ''Series/BoysBeforeFlowers'', sports this on every episode of the show along with her school uniform.
* In the ''Series/WizardsOfWaverlyPlace'' episode ''Dad's Bugging Out'', Alex was rocking a grade B look with her outfit.
* Ally in AustinAndAlly wears a Grade A in the episode ''Tickets And Trashbags''
* In ''Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger'', Kotoha Hanaori typically sports either the Grade B or C variant.
* This is a staple of most of Avery's wardrobe in ''Series/DogWithABlog''.
* ''Series/{{Community}}'', in "Regional Holiday Music", with Annie's SexySantaDress worn to coerce Jeff into the Glee Club.
* Alexis Castle (Molly Quinn) rocks this in her publicity photo in the early seasons of ''Series/{{Castle}}''.
* Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts) frequently wears this style and many other hot outfits in ''American Horror Story: Coven''.
* Allison Argent in ''Series/TeenWolf'' seems to have a fondness for short skirts and long hose, though the hose have been scanter of late.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Manhua]]
* Liu Li's first "military outfit" from ''Manhua/SchoolShock'' consists of a LeotardOfPower and thigh-length boots, as seen [[http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/Clpboy/SchoolShock.png here]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Music]]
* In Andrew Bird's song "Fake Palindromes", the girl's got red lipstick and a bright pair of shoes; she's got knee high socks, what to cover a bruise. She's also got blood in her eyes...
* It's the subject of Ken Ashcorp's [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFZKgf5WG0g song]] "Absolute Territory".
* Also the subject of Arctic Monkeys' song [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00bk5E7gecI&feature=kp 'Knee Socks'.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Music Videos]]
* Music/ArianaGrande rocks this look in her music video ''The Way''.
* {{Music/Vocaloid}} is full of Zettai Ryouiki.
** For starters, Miku Hatsune wears thigh highs and a skirt (actually, they're [[ImpossiblyCoolClothes thigh-high boots]], but many people don't even realize this).
** Nearly every single fan-made variant of Miku Hatsune (Zatsune, Zumi Hatsune, Kiku Juon, Sai Tonarine, and Kiru Meikane are a few examples) has Grade A, and usually has pigtails.
** Luka Megurine has Grade A as well.
** Neru Akita has Grade A thigh-highs (boots), a tsundere personality, but unfortunately, only a side ponytail. Disappointing, but she is the closest you'll get to Grade S when it comes to Vocaloid.
** Rin Kagamine's new Append version bumps her up to a Grade B and a half. Hey, 54 centimeters falls right in between, so we don't know what else to call them. Isn't our job so hard?
** Lily has Grade A with thigh-high boots, but hers are more pimped out than the rest of the Vocaloids.
** [[{{UTAU}} Teto Kasane]] has Grade A with twin ''drills''.
** [[{{UTAU}} Iku Acme]] has Grade B.
** SF-A2 miki sports a Grade C thanks to her striped socks.
** And then Vocaloid3 pretty much cranks it up to twenty-two. Of the eleven that have been confirmed (not including the Gumi and VY1 upgrades), ''five and one-half'' fit this trope: [=SeeU=], Ring Suzune, Aoki Lapis, Akikoroid-chan, and Cul, plus [=IA=], who has a [[FashionableAsymmetry one-leg]] version ([[DontExplainTheJoke hence the one-half]]). That's not even counting the Vocaloidols, of which at least several are going to follow suit.
* Music/KatyPerry's legwear in ''California Gurls'' is so high it's mistaken for tights in the video. For some reason, it becomes 10x sexier when you see the behind the scenes video and realize it's actually grade A (or higher) Zettai Ryouiki.
* Tissue-Hime, a Japanese bassist well known for his [[{{cosplay}} crossplay]] outfits of various female anime characters, often sports Zettai Ryouiki of various grades in his videos. An example can be seen [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb6VTSlvvnQ here]].
* Uruha, the lead guitarist of VisualKei band The [=GazettE=] has sported this more than once, though with booty shorts rather than skirts.
* Sever, the lead singer of the band Music/SumoCyco, has Grade B in their music video for Interceptor.
* The {{Kpop}} {{girl group}} Rania has a {{darker and edgier}} version for their PV [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkDEWopV8w4 Dr. Feel Good]].
* The green-haired girl from Oh Oh Oh Sexy Vampire wears pink boots, which comes close to a grade B.
* All three Caramella Girls in the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvq9r6R6QAY official video]] for {{Caramelldansen|Vid}}. (But not in the follow-up [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7cbDbq48J0 Boogie Bam Dance]].)
* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eaoJ_jhULM This music video]] of fripSide's [[Manga/ACertainScientificRailgun sister's]] [[CrowningMusicOfAwesome noise]] features the lead singer with ThighhighBoots and her visible thighs beneath her skirt.
* KOTOKO wears a Grade B version of this in her [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lh42JO_1NMg unfinished PV]] which is used for the 1st ending theme of ''LightNovel/AccelWorld''.
* {{Kerli}} exhibits this trope in several videos, notably "Walking on Air", "Tea Party", and the dance break of "Zero Gravity", the latter using [[ThighHighBoots thigh-high go-go boots]] and a [[DangerouslyShortSkirt microskirt]].
* Kym Sims in the music video for "Too Blind To See It".
* One of the girls from Rick Astley's "Together Forever" has Grade B.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tabletop Games]]
* The ''TabletopGame/{{Pathfinder}}'' Iconic Witch Feiya [[http://paizo.com/image/content/PathfinderRPG/Feiya.jpg is a type B]]. Her family is even a Tien ("Asian") family which crossed the Crown of the World to enter the Viking-themed Land of the Linnorm Kings on the other side of the world before she was forcibly trained as a witch against her will.
* Quite a few characters sport this look in ''TabletopGame/{{Malifaux}}'', including Colette Dubois, [=McMourning=]'s [[HelloNurse nurse assistants]], and various mercenary swordswomen.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Toys]]
* The entire ''Duel Maid III'' line if collectable figures feature this trope. Every maid is dressed in a short dress with thigh stockings.
* The Lollipop Girl doll line has loads of this. One doll sports grade B and two sport grade A in the first edition line.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Video Games]]
* [[http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb369/diony69/Velvet%20Valentine/0092834c634d21ed50459b87552920df.jpg Velvet]] from ''{{VideoGame/Odin Sphere}}'' is a prime, Grade A example, with [[{{Stripperiffic}} thigh-hi sheer black stockings and a sash that barely covers her crotch]].
* ''Franchise/DragonAge''
** ''VideoGame/DragonAgeOrigins'' has mage armor that certainly counts. Can also work if you get high enough boots on your rogue.
** The entire point of [[MsFanservice Isabela's]] outfit in ''VideoGame/DragonAgeII'' (well, that and [[ImpossiblyLowNeckline the breasts]]). She wears a shirt, underwear, and mid-thigh-high boots.
** Zevran from ''Dragon Age Origins'', as shown off quite vividly by the ending seconds of the cutscene in which he's introduced.
* Many female costumes in ''VideoGame/EtherSagaOdyssey'' take advantage of Grade A and B in order to hook make gamers into the website. It doesn't help that they also have a dance that seems to show off the Absolute Territory quite well. The most notable one is the Punk Rock Blouse
** Some of the monsters also follow this trope, such as the Knockknee Assasin, who is a Grade A.
* [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Dawn_%28game%29 Dawn]], the female lead character in ''VideoGame/PokemonDiamondAndPearl''/''Platinum'' and the ''Pokémon DP'' anime.
** Kris (from ''[[VideoGame/PokemonGoldAndSilver Pokémon Crystal]]'')'s ''[=HeartGold and SoulSilver=]'' counterpart, [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Lyra_(game) Lyra]], has just enough for a Grade A, but with the hot-pants variation.
** Another "[[FashionableAsymmetry partial example]]" is Galactic Admin Jupiter.
** More than a few generic trainers in the games, as well, including just about every incarnation of the Lass.
** And the ''[=HeartGold/SoulSilver=]'' female Ace Trainer. [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Spr_HGSS_Ace_Trainer_F.png Holy crap]], they've never done ''that'' much in the games, have they?
** [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Rocket_Grunt#Sprites The female Team Rocket Grunts are veritable examples of the absolute zone]].
** [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Ranger_Solana.png Solana]] from ''[[VideoGame/PokemonRanger Pokémon Ranger]]'' has a Grade A.
** [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Spr_RS_Winona.png Winona's sprite]] from ''[[VideoGame/PokemonRubyAndSapphire Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald]]'' could be ''mistaken'' as this; the [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Ruby_Sapphire_Winona.png artwork by Ken Sugimori]] helps to clarify her clothing, though.
** [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Conquest_heroine.png The]] [[http://www.pidgi.net/wiki/File:Heroine_and_Eevee_(Rank_1)_(alt)_-_Conquest.png female]] [[http://www.pidgi.net/wiki/File:Heroine_and_Eevee_(Rank_1)_(alt_2)_-_Conquest.png protagonist]] from ''VideoGame/PokemonConquest'' (it's more noticable on the "gender select" screen when starting a new game). Not always visible though, as in some images, her appearance below the skirt is cut off.
** [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Serena_%28game%29 Serena]], the female playable character from ''[[VideoGame/PokemonXandY Pokémon X and Y]]'' sports a Grade A.
* Venus from ''VideoGame/MetalGearAcid2'' has Zettai Ryouiki so devastating that it had to be censored for her cameo in ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolidPortableOps''.
* Both Kasumi and Ayane from ''VideoGame/DeadOrAlive'' wear this for their default costumes.
* ''{{VideoGame/Boktai}}'''s Sunflower Girl Zazie has Grade A Zettai Ryouiki. While not {{Tsundere}}, you don't want to be the one who wakes her up from a nap...
* Maya Amano and Lisa Silverman, from ''{{VideoGame/Persona 2}}'' also fall into this category, to some extent. As Tatsuya, there's even an option to tease Maya about it inside of the bomb shelter.
* ''{{VideoGame/Persona 3}}''
** Yukari Takeba goes the socks-and-skirt route, and it's actually quite surprising that she never [[PantyShot panty-shots]] throughout the entire game considering the length (or lack thereof) of her skirt.
** The female main character of ''Persona 3 Portable'' personalizes her maid outfit with lacy black thigh highs. The hem of the dress is a tad too long, but the skirt often sways around while she's fighting to show off the skin, so it's an A-. Her normal outfit is also Grade C.
* ''{{VideoGame/Persona 4}}''
** Chie Satonaka [[KickChick uses footwear to fight]], some of which goes up past the knee. She's a serious ActionGirl and takes the precaution of wearing ModestyShorts.
** [[IdolSinger Rise Kujikawa]] falls this trope perfectly as she really is wearing thigh high socks along with her school uniform. Not to mention her Moe personality and pigtails. She's not Grade S though by virtue of not being a {{Tsundere}}, despite being voiced by '''the''' queen of Tsunderes, Creator/RieKugimiya.
* The ''VideoGame/ShadowHearts'' series is fond of this. The prequel has Koudelka, the first game has sweet innocent Alice, and the third game has ElegantGothicLolita [[OurVampiresAreDifferent vampire]] Hildegard, all with very high stockings. German soldier Karin in the second game achieves the same effect with thigh-high boots.
* Aqua in ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsBirthBySleep''.
* Yuffie and Rikku's designs in ''VideoGame/KingdomHearts'' and ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII'', respectively, also featured it as well.
* In the intro video of ''[[VideoGame/LaPucelle La Pucelle: Tactics]]'', the Maiden of Light wears this.
* ''Franchise/{{Castlevania}}''
** Charlotte Aulin from ''[[VideoGame/CastlevaniaPortraitOfRuin Portrait of Ruin]]''. If you hold up for about 5 seconds, she poses, making it more obvious.
** [[EvilIsSexy Carmilla]] and Maria get this in ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaJudgment'', the latter bordering on level S (lacks only the personality). Maria also gets a lesser version in ''[[VideoGame/CastlevaniaSymphonyOfTheNight Symphony of the Night]]''.
* ''{{VideoGame/Xenosaga}}''
** MOMO from has Zettai Ryouiki that can blow your eyeballs out through the back of your head -- if you can deal with the fact that she's made of solid loli.
** KOS-MOS has this in almost every outfit, and Shion gets it as well in Episode III.
* ''Franchise/FinalFantasy''
** Refia in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyIII'' for DS gets some killer Zettai Ryouiki if you change her job to Scholar. This also makes her a {{Meganekko}}.
** The same goes for Scholar Artifact armor from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXI'', when worn by any female player character or NPC. People take the job to level 60 for no other reason than to equip SCH AF. About half of the armor in the game spontaneously develops Zettai Ryouiki when equipped on a female PC. Also of note is the Novennial Dress, which even gives Tarutaru Zettai Ryouiki.
** Unsurprisingly, the ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIV'' version of the Scholar Artifact armor continues the trend.
** A few of the female job classes from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyTactics'' have this, including the Squire, Archer, and Mime.
** Marche from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyTacticsAdvance'' has a shorts version of this at Grade B (and is male). Ritz may also qualify. She ''appears'' to have Grade A (and is a tsundere), but in much of the official art, the area between her socks and her skirt is whiter than her arms and face, suggesting she might also be wearing tights. On the other hand, much is made of her pale skin in the game and her natural hair color is white, suggesting that she might be [[HeroicAlbino an albino]], so perhaps that actually ''is'' her skin tone and the greater amount of color elsewhere is ''also'' not natural.
** Serah from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII''.
** Several of the dresspheres in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX2'', especially Rikku's outfits.
*** Paine's default dressphere/cutscene costume, as well.
** ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXII'' characters [[http://www.videogamegirlsdb.com/Images/Final_Fantasy/Penelo/Penelo_FF12_Wallpaper_02.jpg Penelo]] and [[http://images2.fanpop.com/images/photos/3100000/Final-Fantasy-XII-Ash-final-fantasy-12-3118591-1024-768.jpg Ashe]], with armored boots for both. Also, the Dalmacian gaurds are a male example. In particular, Reks.
** And another one from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyIX'': Kuja. And he's [[DudeLooksLikeALady a dude]].
** Cinque, Sice and Rem in ''{{VideoGame/Final Fantasy Type-0}}'', the rest of the girls score much lower.
** In ''VideoGame/DirgeOfCerberus'', Yuffie and the female [=WRO=] soldiers wear Grade B with [[WhoWearsShortShorts shorts]].
* ''Franchise/{{Disgaea}}''
** [[VideoGame/DisgaeaHourOfDarkness Etna]], you spoil us...
** And not just her, either, as we also have [[http://www.otadesho.com/files/disgaea3/sapphire.jpg Sapphire]] and [[http://img367.imageshack.us/img367/5903/pleinairdeikouon5.jpg Pleinair]].
** NipponIchi's [[RecurringBoss Recurring]] ButtMonkey, Asagi. Though she has the ActionGirl variant.
** With Etna out of the main story in ''VideoGame/{{Disgaea 3|AbsenceOfJustice}}'', [[EverythingsBetterWithPrincesses Princess Sapphire]] and [[TheBaroness Salvatore the Magnificent]] take up the mantle.
** ''{{VideoGame/Disgaea 4|A Promise Unforgotten}}'' keeps up the tradition with [[OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent Fuka]] and [[CuteMonsterGirl Desco]].
** The Magic Knight may have had it in the past, but thanks to ''Disgaea 4'' having HD sprites, her Grade A is highly visible in this sequel.
* ''VideoGame/PhantomBrave'': Marona.
* Female human mages in ''Lineage II'' start with this, and most of their clothing options up to 20 in level are these.
* A good number of the skirt-wearing female soldiers in ''VideoGame/ValkyriaChronicles'' qualify. The most noticable are Alicia, Rosie, and Isara. Alicia is at the very least Grade S, what with her twin tails and initial {{Tsundere}} attitude (much more so in the anime adaptation).
* From ''FlowerSunAndRain'', Yayoi Hanayama has Grade A.
* All of the rival cheer girls in ''OsuTatakaeOuendan'' have Grade B.
* This is somewhat standard for ''VideoGame/StarOcean'' heroines.
** [[VideoGame/StarOceanTheSecondStory Rena]] and [[VideoGame/StarOceanTillTheEndOfTime Sophia]] both wear short skirts with long stockings.
** [[VideoGame/StarOcean1 Millie]] wears a slightly longer skirt than is standard for this trope, while [[StarOceanTheLastHope Reimi]] wears an outfit that gives the illusion of a skirt.
** Nel Zelpher, the deadly serious ninja-wizard from ''VideoGame/StarOceanTillTheEndOfTime'', happens to have a ''very'' short, tight-fitting skirt to go with her very tall, yet equally tight boots. That bit of thigh between them is all the skin she shows though, since she's otherwise very modestly and functionally dressed... which arguably makes it that much hotter.
** Albel Nox from the same ''Star Ocean'' is an odd male variant. He wears a wrap skirt with ''waist high side slits and thigh high stockings''. Fayt even calls him out on it to which Albel curtly informs him that ''real men wear skirts''. Then again, you don't mess with a girly, skirt wearing man voiced by Creator/CrispinFreeman.
* Mitsuki Konishi in ''VideoGame/TheWorldEndsWithYou''. [[JustForPun So Zettai Ryouiki!]]
* Heart Aino from ''VideoGame/ArcanaHeart'' sports a Grade A Zettai Ryouiki.
* Alicia from ''VideoGame/ValkyrieProfile2Silmeria''.
* A couple of Athena Asamiya's alternate outfits in ''[[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters KOF Maximum Impact 2]]'' sport this look, as does Miu Kurosaki from gaiden game ''[=KoF EX 2=]''.
* Momohime from ''VideoGame/MuramasaTheDemonBlade''.
* ''VideoGame/MegaManLegends''
** ''Mega Man Legends 2'': There's serious Grade A Zettai Ryouiki going on for Sera and Yuna. In Yuna's case, it even meets one requirement for Grade S.
** The [[ExecutiveMeddling now]] [[WhatCouldHaveBeen cancelled]] ''Legends 3'' has the adorable Aero, who combines a Grade A Zettai Ryouiki [[WhoWearsShortShorts (shorts variety)]] with DetachedSleeves and [[GogglesDoNothing head-mounted goggles]] for ultimate WrenchWench {{Moe}}. One of the rejected designs also had a grade B.
** On the topic of ''Mega Man'', [[VideoGame/MegaManBattleNetwork Ma]][[Anime/MegaManNTWarrior yl]] has Grade A, too.
** ''VideoGame/MegaManZX'' brings us a male example, of sorts. Thetis has this look, using his long hoodie as a replacement for a skirt, and his long white socks.
** Also Cinnamon from ''VideoGame/MegaManXCommandMission'', oddly enough.
* Momo Karuizawa from ''VideoGame/RivalSchools'' sports a Grade A ''and'' GirlishPigtails, though she's more of a BitchInSheepsClothing than a {{Tsundere}}. [[ForeignFanservice American]] Tiffany Lords on the other hand, gets a hot pants + boots version of this with her new costume in ''Project Justice''.
* In Cartoon Network's ''[[MassivelyMultiplayerOnlineRolePlayingGame Fusion Fall]]'', WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls have this with a Grade B in the game, yet a Grade A in official artwork.
* ''VideoGame/ArTonelico2''
** Luca and Cloche both have this in their default costumes, Luca is a Grade A, while Cloche averages to a Grade A (her skin tight boots are staggered in length, part extends under her skirt, part is Grade A and part is Grade B). Luca's school uniform has a grade A and maybe even S depending on the scenario.
** Jacqli's maid outfit is another Grade A.
* Many of the girls' costumes in ''VideoGame/CrossEdge'' have this, including Mikoto's default outfit and her [[NaughtyNurseOutfit Nurse Uniform]]. By extension, Aurica's Luca costume and Misha's Cloche costume give them the same grades as mentioned above.
* ''Franchise/TalesSeries''
** [[DeadpanSnarker Rita]] from ''VideoGame/TalesOfVesperia'', though only on one leg, and the skirt may be a bit too long for this. However, her waitress costume title is around a Grade B.
** ''VideoGame/TalesOfLegendia'''s [[http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100418003448/aselia/images/3/3b/Norma.png Norma Beatty]] runs Grade A easily, even with a skirt shorter than [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Rin Tohsaka's]].
* Noel Vermillion and Makoto Nanaya of ''VideoGame/BlazBlue''. Both Grade A.
* ''VideoGame/GoldenSun''
** ''The Lost Age'' has Karst in Grade A boots to go with her [[HellBentForLeather black leather]] [[MsFanservice miniskirt and backless top]].
** ''Dark Dawn'' has Chalis in Grade A boots and [[{{Stripperiffic}} something that barely qualifies as a dress]].
* The redesigned Harley Quinn in ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamAsylum'' is a rare Western example of a high-end Grade A, if not Grade S.
* ''.hack//LINK'' redesigns for Atoli and Tabbi retain their Grade A, while adding it to [[http://dothack.wikia.com/wiki/File:Subaru_(Link).jpg Subaru]] and [[http://dothack.wikia.com/wiki/File:BlackRose_(LINK).jpg BlackRose]].
* The Wood Elf Wardancers in the recent video game rendition of ''BloodBowl'' achieve this look when they reach a high enough level (or receive the best boots in the real-time Blitz Mode). Though odds are that most people's attention will be on the massive mohawk they have, rather than their thighs.
* ''VideoGame/GuildWars'' contains a suprising ammount of Zettai Ryouiki for a Western game, in all kinds of forms: standard, hotpants, shorts, thigh-high boots... Unsuprisingly, most of the armor combinations that allow for Zettai Ryouiki belong to the ''Mesmer'' class; the best examples are the "Elite Canthan" and "Elite Kurzick" armor outfits obtainable in the Factions campaign.
** The NPC character Evennia, leader of the Shining Blade, wears type A.
** Many of the ''Stripperiffic'' outfits available for female elementalists feature type B and C.
** Female Assassin armor has Canthan and Elite Luxon for grade B. Elite Luxon is a version with shorts.
* Seth Balmore of ''LostOdyssey'' has this, though often it's difficult to see due to camera angles.
* Misaki from ''VideoGame/FatalFrame 4''.
* There has been a whole ''{{H-Game}}'' released under the actual title ''Zettai Ryouiki!'', dedicated to the concept.
* ''VideoGame/NoMoreHeroes''
** Almost every ''female'' in the ''No More Heroes'' series has Grade A/B Zettai Ryouiki. The obvious exception is Speed Buster... thankfully.
** In ''No More Heroes 2'', you fight a gothic lolita named Margaret who has this. Bonus in that she has the twintails as well, though she does lack the tsundere attitude... probably. It's even mentioned in her song:
-->''Thigh-high socks and my absolute territory\\
Go on and drool the Otaku cannot resist''
* ''{{Neptunia}}'' has a lot of this.
** [[VideoGame/HyperdimensionNeptunia First game]]:
*** [[GenkiGirl Neptune]]/ [[LadyOfWar Purple Heart]]
*** [[{{Tsundere}} Noire]]/Blackheart Bonus points as Grade S.
*** [[CombatMedic Compa]]
*** [[IdolSinger 5pb./Lyrica]]
** [[HyperdimensionNeptuniaMk2 The second game]]:
*** [[CluelessChickMagnet Nepgear]]/ Purple Sister
*** [[RedHeadedHeroine Cave]]
*** [[BigGood Histoire]]
*** [[DramaQueen Chika Hakozaki]]
*** [[{{Meganekko}} Mina Nishizawa.]]
** [[VideoGame/HyperdimensionNeptuniaVictory The third game]].
*** [[IdenticalStranger Pururut]]/[[SplitPersonality Iris Heart]]
* ''{{VideoGame/Tekken}}''
** Using the customization options, most female characters in ''Tekken 6'' can be be given a Class B, while Lili is able to ascend to the famous Class S.
** Anna Williams also wore the hotpants variant for one of her costumes in ''Tekken Tag Tournament''. Sadly, this costume hasn't been seen since then.
** Alisa seals the deal.
* The [[CuteWitch Witch Princess]] from ''[[VideoGame/HarvestMoon Harvest Moon: Animal Parade]]'' wears her stockings with a pair of really puffy bloomer-esque shorts.
* Downright commonplace in the ''RuneFactory'' series, with Melody, Major Lynette, Cecilia, Yue, Colette, Carmen, Pia, and Daria wearing Grade B, and Alicia ([[FashionableAsymmetry on one side]]), Ganesha, the Irises, and Kuruna sporting Grade A.
* ''AdvanceWars: Days of Ruin'' has Tasha in a shorts/boots example.
* ''{{Killer7}}'''s Ayane's Blackburn, a parody of Japanese schoolgirls, sports this look.
* In ''[[SummonNight Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2]]'', female protagonist Aera sports this look, as does supporting character/LesYay machine Lynn.
* Saki and Annna from ''{{Onechanbara}}''.
* ''Franchise/FireEmblem''
** The miniskirt + long boots is a standard part of the uniform worn by the Pegasus Knight / Falcoknight / Dragon Knight ladies in the saga. Even TheLadette Vaida uses it, and she's FAR from MoeMoe. Not only them, either. Some troubadours (mounted healers) also use it, like Clarine from ''FE 6'' and L'Arachel from ''FE 8''.
** Any female mounted unit, actually. [[JustifiedTrope This kind of makes sense when you think about it]]: the short skirt is more comfortable for riding, the long boots offer protection.
** Not any female mounted unit: Natasha from ''FE 8'' (if promoted into Valkyrie), Priscilla from ''FE 7'' and Cecilia from ''FE 6'' don't wear ZR. Priss's boots are too short, Cecilia's skirt is too long and the cut on it isn't high enough, and Natasha's cleric robe is excessively long as well.
** One non-mounted example (at least, pre-promotion) is Princess Eirika from ''FE 8''. Actually, here's another: Mia pre-promotion in ''FE 9/10'' (after promoting to upper tier, the skirt becomes too long). Also Raquesis from ''FE 4'', the inspiration for Eirika's design.
** For another non-mounted example: Louise from ''FE 7'', [[spoiler:who is actually Clarine's mother.]]
** Lyre, one of the Laguz from "Radiant Dawn", wears shorts and thigh-high stockings.
** As does Ilyana at 2nd and 3rd tier... and Heather at 3rd tier... and Nepheenee... and the aforementioned Mia... and Mist at third tier... Ironically, in this game, the pegasus riders ''don't'' qualify because they're wearing tights under their skirts (though they still have the thigh-high boots).
** Both [[WalkingSpoiler "Marth"]] and ''Marth'' have it in ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Awakening]]''.
** Celica, the heroine of ''Gaiden'', has a Grade B variant with what could generously be described as "shorts with an inverted ShowgirlSkirt[[note]]it covers all of the areas that a ShowgirlSkirt doesn't, and ''doesn't'' cover any of the areas that a ShowgirlSkirt does[[/note]]" Her ''Awakening'' DLC redesign raises the stakes by turning the skirt part into a MiniDressOfPower slit up the side halfway to her armpits such that [[MarilynManeuver a good wind]] ''[[BareYourMidriff bares her midriff]]''. [[SwirlingDust Did we mention she's a mage?]]
** Due to the reclassing system, it's probably wiser to list the ''classes'' that have ZettaiRyouki in ''Fire Emblem Awakening'' (although any unit that has one of them as her default class will have the corresponding level of Zettai Ryouiki in her official artwork): true grade-A for Pegasus Knights, Dark Fliers, Manaketes, female Grandmasters, female Taguel, and female Heroes; pseudo-grade-A (skirt that would normally be too long but has multiple slits to show off the thighs) for Falcon Knights and female Cavaliers; and B-grade for female Wyvern Riders, Wyvern Lords, and Griffon Riders. Of note: Severa, who has both of the other two qualifications for a Grade S, has Mercenary as a default class--the unpromoted form of the Hero class. (She also naturally has access to the Pegasus Knight class tree, as class sets are inherited and her mother actually has Pegasus Knight as her default class.)
* If we listed all the modules in the ''Project Diva'' games that feature Zettai Ryouiki, we would be here all day. Highlights include: Miku's [[http://projectdiva.wikispaces.com/file/view/m_miku.png original outfit]], [[http://projectdiva.wikispaces.com/file/view/m_natural.png Natural]] and [[http://projectdiva.wikispaces.com/file/view/m_chou.png Butterfly]]. Rin's [[http://projectdiva.wikispaces.com/file/view/m_riakuta.png Reactor]] and [[http://projectdiva.wikispaces.com/file/view/m_cute_rin.png Cute Rin]]. And Len's [[http://projectdiva.wikispaces.com/file/view/m_punkish.png Punkish]].
* The Courtesan from ''VideoGame/AssassinsCreedBrotherhood'' multiplayer.
* ''VideoGame/{{Touhou}}''
** Nue Houjuu is arguably the first character in the series with Zettai Ryouiki. However, Suwako Moriya from the same series has been drawn with Zettai Ryouiki in fanon.
** Frickin' ''everybody'' has been drawn with Zettai Ryouiki in fanon. Possibly even Rinnosuke.
** However, prior to either of those characters' debuts, Reisen Udongein Inaba [[http://en.touhouwiki.net/images/1/18/PMiSS_reisen.jpg appeared with Grade A Zettai Ryouiki]] [[AllInTheManual in canon supplementary materials]]. (From ''Perfect Memento in Strictest Sense''.)
* In the 2009 remake of ''VideoGame/SaGa2'', several of the various models for the Esper characters sport this look, as well as supporting character Lin.
* Lili Zanotto of ''{{VideoGame/Psychonauts}}'' has both pigtails and the {{Tsundere}} personality for Grade S. Her kneesocks however come straight between C and B.
* ''MagnaCarta2'' gives us Rue, who's Grade B in her battle sprite. Variant of the hot pants and skirt, as Rue wears both, but her pants go down further than her skirt.
* Some BGAs in the Korean arcade ''{{VideoGame/PumpItUp}}'' have characters sporting some ZR.
** Greenhorn [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApyxZqj8R0c]]
** Solitary 1.5 [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcbckDe3XEU]]
** Reality [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoQxwSKjS_U]]
** Valenti [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIp9sydYCnU]]
** Chung Hwa Ban Jeom [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGesPCseMPQ]]
** Digan lo Que Digan [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jjNtVR4Juw]]
* Filia, Cerebella and [[ClassyCatburglar Miss Fortune]] from ''{{VideoGame/Skullgirls}}''. Parasoul also has them in some of her alternates.
** While not playable but Annie from Skullgirls has Grade A with boots.
* Valentine from ''VideoGame/GuiltyGear 2: Overture'' fits this somewhat. Hard to believe she is a likely copy of [[spoiler:Justice.]]
* ''VideoGame/YoakeMaeYoriRuriiroNa''
** Feena Fam Earthlight seems to have a penchant for thigh-highs stockings. She wears them under her [[PimpedOutDress princess gown]], which unfortunately is floor length, with her school uniform (at least when she's not OffModel), and as part of her work uniform at Trattoria Samon (which also holds true for Natsuke, Mia, and Mai).
** Fiacca also has A-Rank Zettai Ryouiki as part of her {{Stripperific}} battle costume.
* Iori in ''[[VideoGame/TheIdolmaster The iDOLM@STER]]'' wears a grade B.
** In the anime version of ''Anime/TheIdolmaster'', several of the stage outfits have it too and [[SexySecretary Kotori]] sports this in her work outfit.
* In the [[CasualVideoGame dress-up game]] ''Jojo's Fashion Show'', you get bonus points for having boots with skirts to achieve type B.
* A particular song from ''Beatmania IIDX 19'' called "突撃!ガラスのニーソ姫!" (Totsugeki! Garasuno niiso hime!, direct English translation: "Attack! Knee Socks Princess of the Glass") has got some Grade B Zettai Ryouiki in the anime video.
* Mercedes from ''MapleStory''.
* ''PhantasyStarIV'': Rika is perhaps one of the great-grandmothers of this trope: she wears a black leotard (and heavy-class armor), but she wears thigh-high boots that are pretty standard from the front, but from the back, they ''just barely'' reach the hemline of her cape, making her a Class S (but only from one side).
** In ''PhantasyStarUniverse'', there are three shorts versions of this: [[http://www.pso-world.com/items/psu/8/283/gojgoj_shorts__female_/ Gojgoj Shorts]], [[http://www.pso-world.com/items/psu/8/293/classica_shorts/ Classica Shorts]] (both Type A), and [[http://www.pso-world.com/items/psu/8/97/braves_shorts/ Braves Shorts]] (Type B). There's also the [[http://www.pso-world.com/items/psu/8/1521/smartia_bottoms/ Smartia Bottoms]] for a skirt example.
* In the music video of the song 'Frantic' in EZ2DJ, the orange-haired girl wears pink thigh-highs. Here's the music video: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOpKGS2ci4M]]
* Common in more recent ArtixEntertainment games, such as the 2008 classes and armors in VideoGame/AdventureQuestWorlds.
** The Battleon mage trainer, Arcana, combines this trope with ShowSomeLeg.
* Juliet Starling, the player character of LollipopChainsaw, goes for the full Grade S, complete with upskirt shots, TwinTails, and a backstory as TheIngenue.
* Sheva's "Sexy Red Riding Hood" costume from ''ResidentEvil5: Gold Edition''.
* The titular character of ''VideoGame/{{Catherine}}'' dons Grade A. Nice bit of FridgeBrilliance, here: Zettai Ryoukai is an extremely popular fetish in Japan, and [[spoiler:Catherine is a actually a succubus who has taken the form of the protagonist's ideal woman]].
* In an interesting change, Amy Rose will have a Class A type in ''VideoGame/SonicBoom''
* Red of ''VideoGame/{{Transistor}}'' is a Type A after her originally floor-length singer's gown is [[ActionDressRip torn off below the thigh]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Visual Novels]]
* Rin Tohsaka in ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight''. Let's see... 57 cm stockings: check. Double pigtail: check. {{Tsundere}}: [[http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/FSN_rin_tsuntsun_deredere.jpg check]]. Yes, Rin Tohsaka ''is [[Pantheon/PersonalAppearance Grade S]]!'' Rider does not have a grade as high as Rin's, but she certainly qualifies too.
** The universe finally borne another special example: Astolfo of ''LightNovel/FateApocrypha''. Why special? '''''[[DudeLooksLikeALady He]]''''' had a verifiable Grade A ''without'' being a WholesomeCrossdresser.
** When wearing the Dress of Heaven, Ilyasviel von Einzbern qualifies as a Grade A.
* ''{{VisualNovel/Tsukihime}}''
** Sion Eltnam Atlasia from the spin-off ''VideoGame/MeltyBlood'' packs a pair that rivals [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Rin]]'s.
** Ciel in her Seventh Holy Scripture outfit also has this.
* ''VisualNovel/UminekoNoNakuKoroNi''
** Jessica definitely has this, and depending on your definition of knee socks (they stop literally just below the knee), so do many of the other young female characters, including Maria.
** Beatrice from has a whole Grade B going on [[http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110526151805/umineko/images/1/1a/4_886_13c87979a3fc7de.jpg when she appears in the gameboard]] in Turn of the Golden Witch, with an addition to her {{Tsundere}} personality.
** The Siestas have an interesting version of this, as although their boots reach up to their thighs, and they do wear mini-skirts, said skirts are split open in the front (they wear leotard-type things underneath), effectively ruining the look.
** Ange pretty much screams Grade S: Pigtails, short skirt, and optimal thigh exposure, though she's much more of a {{Kuudere}} than a tsundere.
* Tanaka You in ''{{VisualNovel/Ever17}}'' has this when dressed in her [=LeMU=] uniform.
* Nayuki, Kaori and Shiori in ''{{VisualNovel/Kanon}}''. Makoto successfully attains Grade S ZR. At least a couple times.
* Tamaki Kousaka, Sasara Kusugawa, and the Himeyuri twins in ''VisualNovel/ToHeart2'', all have Grade A.
* Kyou (and Ryou, although after a while she stops wearing them) in ''{{VisualNovel/Clannad}}'' -- even when playing basketball. [[{{Tsundere}} Kyou]]'s power [[GameBreaker is truly without limit]].
* Miyo Takano of ''VisualNovel/HigurashiNoNakuKoroNi'' has this as part of her nurse outfit.
** Also from the same series, the Angel Mort outfit seems designed with Zettai Ryouiki in mind.
** Rena's outfit is a twist -- she wears the thigh socks but her skirt is very long, which would normally disqualify her. However, sometimes she has "Zettai Ryouiki Flashes" where her thighs are visible through the skirt's long side slit, as is clearly visible in [[http://img143.imageshack.us/i/11417889013871dq.jpg/ this image]].
* ''Every single girl'' in ''{{VisualNovel/Shuffle}}'', at some point or other. Mostly in their school outfits.
* Ameri in ''{{VisualNovel/Tayutama}}'' is a definite Grade S in her school uniform.
* The creators of ''VisualNovel/KoihimeMusou'' LOVE this. Almost everyone in the show/game's [[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters massive]], [[ImprobablyFemaleCast almost all-female]] cast wears this.
* Kazuha from ''VisualNovel/YosugaNoSora'' has Grade A.
* As if ''VisualNovel/AceAttorney''[='=]s Ema Skye wasn't cute enough already, her look in ''AceAttorneyInvestigations''' features this trope.
** Trucy Wright had a grade C that showed very little skin (due to her large skirt) in [[ApolloJusticeAceAttorney Apollo Justice]], however during the next year she became taller and therefore, in Dual Destinies, she is showing more skin than before (although she is still a grade C because her boots are the same).
* Shizune Hakamichi from ''VisualNovel/KatawaShoujo'' has a Grade A.
** In school uniform ''and'' with her prosthetic legs, Emi Ibarazaki has a Grade A too. She's only one {{Tsundere}} personality away from Grade S as well.
* Several outfits in ''{{VisualNovel/Canvas 2}}'' seem designed with this in mind. Elis' casual wear comes to mind.
* Haruka, Kud, Sasami and Kurugaya from ''VisualNovel/LittleBusters'' use Grade A.
* Most of the girls from ''VisualNovel/ChaosHead'' has this to some degree.
* The dragon in ''VisualNovel/DraKoi'' gets a school uniform somehow when she takes on a human form, which includes Grade A stockings.

* ''Webcomic/TheWotch''
** When Sam creates {{Custom Uniform}}s for each of the cheerleaders in ''Cheer!'', she gives Alex [[http://www.cheercomic.com/?date=2005-08-09 a shorter skirt and thigh-high socks]], as she states [[http://www.cheercomic.com/?date=2005-08-27 here]] (other comic linked because the one where she mentions her changes doesn't actually depict it).
** [[http://www.cheercomic.com/?date=2006-04-22 Agent]] [[http://www.cheercomic.com/?date=2005-09-17 32]], [[http://www.cheercomic.com/?date=2006-07-15 too]].

** [[http://www.cheercomic.com/?date=2007-09-19 And another.]] Geez, Tselsebar likes this trope, huh?
** His followers, too. See [[http://www.cheercomic.com/?date=2008-01-11 this]] guest filler pitting Muse vs. Anti-Muse.
* Kimiko does this very well in one of the ''Webcomic/MegaTokyo'' [[http://www.megatokyo.com/strip/1004 posters]] and in this [[http://fredrin.deviantart.com/art/all-your-worlds-colorpreview-176631835 magnificent poster]].
* Fuchsia the succubus gets into this in ''{{Webcomic/Sinfest}}'' when she dresses up as a schoolgirl to pander to her crush on Criminy.
* The title characters of the ''Webcomic/PowerpuffGirlsDoujinshi'' after chapter 1.
* Yuri Zahard from ''Webcomic/TowerOfGod'' has this with black stockings.
* Kit in the third chapter of ''FeyWinds'', of the thigh-high boots variety.
* Sarah often does this in ''{{Building 12}}''. Peoni also gets one in one of the {{Fanservice}} Pages. [[http://www.building12.net/issue4/fanservice.htm As a]] [[NaughtyNurseOutfit nurse]].
* One of Cassiel's many {{Fanservice}} outfits in ''{{Webcomic/Misfile}}'' in [[http://www.misfile.com/?page=1272 this strip]] [[http://www.misfile.com/?page=1779 Emily as well]].

* In ''TheInexplicableAdventuresOfBob'', the skirt and gogo boots Galatea sports in [[GayParee France]] would count -- although the viewer's enjoyment may be hindered by the fact that her legs have ''fur'' (although [[FurryFandom some folks...]] oh never mind...).
