* Chimera (virus) and Bellerophon (cure) in ''Film/MissionImpossibleII''. Named for a monster from Myth/GreekMythology and its slayer. This is justified, as those are actually their codenames from the project that created them.
* Subverted in ''Film/EscapeFromLA'': Virus: Plutoxin 7. Cure: [[spoiler: Nothing, it's just a common flu virus; Snake is tricked into believing otherwise]].

* Creator/OrsonScottCard's descolada and recolada viruses in the [[Literature/EndersGame Ender saga]]. They translate as "un-glueing" and "re-glueing" because of their effect on DNA.
* Literature/SnowCrash and Snow Melt.
* Not a virus, but in ''Literature/CharlieAndTheGreatGlassElevator'', the sequel to ''Literature/CharlieAndTheChocolateFactory'', there is a pill called Wonka-Vite which makes people younger. The cure for those who are aged ''too'' young -- that is to say, out of existence, which happened to the Oompa-Loompas he tested the prototypes on -- is a RapidAging liquid called Vita-Wonk.
