->''Long ago in ancient times, there were cool forces that raged explosive ninja battles for the throne. But there was one group that decided to rise up, and enter victory for which the other groups could not partake! It was a beautiful display of power and beauty and strength. However, another group decided to stand up to this apocalyptic world with elegant samurai! And thus, today's world was born. But that isn't what this story is about. This story is about a girl in modern-day Tokyo night.''
-->-- '''OpeningNarration''' from the first episode

''Tsuki Desu'' is a Website/YouTube and Nico Nico hosted {{Fanime}} series by Anthony W.H., started in the Spring of 2012. [[OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent Najika Tsuki]] attends the night school Sugoi Gakuen Academy School in modern-day Tokyo, living a seemingly normal life (albeit with [[RunningGag no friends]]). She pines after StudentCouncilPresident, Yukari Bueno, spends her free time with cats, and laments that she definitely has no friends. But that all changes when NewTransferStudent Chitose Miyamoto shows up one day, and he seems to want to be Najika's friend....!

This is the second series released by master fanime creator Anthony, who already released a fanime of similar QUALITY, known as QuestOfLaizen

Current episodes you can watch on [[http://www.youtube.com/user/QuestofLaizen the creator's channel]], or on [[http://video.niconico.com/tag/tsuki%20desu English Nico Nico]] for commenting enjoyment.

-------------
!!Tropes that ''Tsuki Desu" provides an example of:

* AccentUponTheWrongSyllable: Sakooruh and Cheetoes are good examples.
** Though Chitose, when Yukari pronounces it right, Chitose specifically asks him to call him Cheetos. More of an InSeriesNickname.
* {{Adorkable}}: Najika, at times.
* ActorAllusion: This isn't the first time that Travis Tylor has participated in a parody of the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s67m6Suf4M0 Team Rocket motto]]
** Also one completely by accident, as Daisuke is revealed in episode 11 to have a huge fetish with the world and globes. Travis Tylor was a total globe nerd in middle school.
* [[spoiler: AllJustADream: The special.]]
* AmazingTechnicolorBattlefield
* AnimeHair: Principal Daisuke...looks like he has a giant green mustache on his head.
* AnimeThemeSong: The intro "Drivin' Through The Night" from IkkiTousen, and the ending theme "Tokimeki no Doukasen" from FushigiYuugi.
* BigBad: Daisuke.
* BilingualBonus: Najika works for one episode at [[GratuitousJapanese Hazukashi Diner]]. Hazukashi means [[spoiler: I'm embarassed]].
* [[spoiler: BiTheWay: Sakura definitely crushes on Kurokana Kobo at first, and later feels something far stronger for Najika.]]
* CanonWelding: The last few episodes heavily imply QuestOfLaizen took place in this verse's past.
* CaptainErsatz: Anyone who is familiar with the *ahem* popular fanime Yin Yang will see quite a few similarities between the two.
** [[spoiler: Episode 5 gives us Bunny and Kitten, who are unmistakable copies of Jessie and James from {{Pokemon}}]]
* CargoShip: Daisuke has an...umm...affection for his globes, to the point where he used to sleep with one (and for all we know, probably still does).
** If the flashback in episode 11 doesn't convince you, then his scene in the Christmas special sure will. Travis Tylor's decision to make him sound like a total nut-case probably didn't help.
* CerebusSyndrome: The plot becomes far more intense after [[spoiler: Najika goes back in time.]] Made all the more obvious because the [[EyeCatch Eye Catches]] that referenced previous fanime vanish right around then.
* {{Corpsing}}: Listen to the way Najika says SUH-KER-UHH's name in the Christmas special. You can tell she's trying not to laugh.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: Count how many times "Tsuki Desu" is mentioned in the first episode, or how many times Najika muses on her lack of friends.
* {{Deuteragonist}}: Yukari, with Chitose as the Tritagonist. [[spoiler: The same applies to their [[IdenticalGrandson ancestors]] in Feudal Japan after they replace them in story role, with King Yukari playing SupportingLeader with Cheetos as his KnightInShiningArmor NumberTwo.]]
* TheDragon: Kureno.
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: The school bullies' reaction to Cheetos
* EvilVsEvil: Though Daisuke's faction is the most focused on.
* FanNickname: Cheetos for Chitose and Prince Sama for Yukari. [[CargoShip Globefucker]] has caught on for Daisuke in some circles.
** This is made more or less his canon pronunciation in episode 7. When Yukari tries to call him 'Chitose', Cheetos quickly says "No need to be so formal, just call me Cheetos"
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Najika spends her free time with the local cats
* GratuitousJapanese: all over the place
* HalfwayPlotSwitch: [[spoiler: When Najika travels back in time, the story drops most of the supernatural aspects and becomes a story more explicitly about feudal Japan. Major characters Chitose and Yukari are PutOnABus and replaced by their [[IdenticalGrandson Identical Ancestors]].]]
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler: Chitose claims to have made one before the series began, having formerly belonged to a group trying to acquire Najika's heart. [[InformedFlaw This isn't brought up much at all after its being mentioned.]]]]
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Chitose and Yukari, after [[spoiler: Najika leaves them behind when going to the past.]]
* HiddenDepths: Sakura, of all people [[spoiler:It turns out she is an alien from the moon, who forgot her own origins. Her love for Najika causes her to fight for her sake.]]
* IdenticalGrandson: [[spoiler: Yukari and Chitose have counterparts who are physically indistinguishable from the present counterparts, who take over their descendants' major character status. [[TheStoic Yukari]] and [[TheGoodKing his ancestor]] have a few more differences in personality than [[NiceGuy Chitose]] and [[KnightInShiningArmor his counterpart]]. Interestingly, DoppelgangerReplacementLoveInterest is mostly averted, though that isn't to say there's a complete lack of ShipTease.]]
* IdenticalStranger: [[spoiler: A little girl named Nagika appears in TheStinger of the finale, with no indication of any connection to the similarly-named heroine.]]
* InformedAbility: Apparently within hours of transferring to SGAS, Cheetos became "the most popular boy in school"
* KindheartedCatLover: Najika loves to play with cats instead of going home, because "her stepmother is a [[GratuitousJapanese baka-idiot]]."
* {{Kuudere}}: Yukari
* LargeHam: Cheetos and Daisuke are probably the biggest offenders, though special mention goes to the likes of Kureno, Shu, and Sakura.
** Najika flip-flops between being hammy and being a DullSurprise. Given the nature of this show, it's pretty obviously done on purpose.
* LoveTriangle: One that can be seen coming from miles away
* LostForever: The comments on English Nico Nico. Shame, as they were supposedly hilarious.
* MacGuffin: [[spoiler: Najika's heart, the Tsuki Desu.]]
* MaidCafe: Najika visits and works at one briefly, called [[GratuitousJapanese Hazukashi Diner]]
* MeaningfulName: Najika Tsuki - Rainbow Moon
* MindScrew: A brief moment in Episode 1, when Najika has what can only be described as a bad trip while she stares at the school bullies.
** ALL OF EPISODE 5.
* MoonRabbit
* NiceGuy: Chitose never really does anything mean. In fact, [[spoiler: despite being a Succubus, there's no indication that he's bringing any harm to Najika via their relationship.]]
* OffModel: If there even ''is'' a model to be off of. Najika and Yukari get the brunt of this.
* OurZombiesAreDifferent: [[spoiler: Yukari was brought back to life via magic, and can remove his body parts at will and use his bones as projectiles. Being a zombie doesn't seem to affect much besides [[DullSurprise his voice acting]], though.]]
* TheOtherDarrin: Jarrad Rosa was in a car accident and was unable to record for some time, so Willard Zenni took over for Yukari and Kureno in episodes 8 and 9.
** Nearly happened again for episode 11, as Jarrad supposedly left for a trip to Indonesia without sending in his lines for the episode. It wasn't until a day or two later that Jarrad explained that he had sent the clips and forgotten to tell Anthony about it, and was unable to right away due to a lack of Internet connection during his transportation.
* OutOfFocus: Episode 5 is the only time Sakura does much of anything.
* SmittenTeenageGirl: Najika towards Chitose and Yukari
* TalkingToHimself: This was pretty much inevitable considering that outside of one or two characters, the series is voiced by 4 different people. This happens with all of the main cast except for Travis Tylor, who always managed to avoid playing 2 people in the same scene.
* ValleyGirl: Sakura
* [[PoorlyDisguisedPilot Poorly Disguised]] SequelHook: According to WordOfGod, the special's GainaxEnding with previously unseen characters was meant to be this for a second season of QuestOfLaizen, [[WhatCouldHaveBeen an idea that is presently shelved...]]
* RetGone: [[spoiler: Cheetos, by the end of episode 2]]
* TheReveal: [[spoiler: Yukari is a Zombie, demonstrated by his foot-removing technique in episode 2.]]
** As of episode 3, [[spoiler: Cheetos is apparently a succubus.]]
* ShrinkingViolet: Najika has shades of this
* StylisticSuck
* SomethingCompletelyDifferent: Episode 5, which focuses on Sakura
** [[spoiler: ADeathInTheLimeLight: She also performs a HeroicSacrifice near the end of the episode.]] [[spoiler: Subverted when she shows up in TheStinger of the final episode.]]
* TookALevelInBadass: Sakura in episode 5, Najika subtly throughout the second half of the series.
* TroubledButCute: Both Yukari and Cheetos
* WhamEpisode: 7. Just try watching without feeling all those feels.
