Netflix is a service that provides {{DVD}} content via the Internet in UsefulNotes/TheUnitedStates, UsefulNotes/{{Canada}}, parts of UsefulNotes/LatinAmerica, [[UsefulNotes/{{Britain}} the United Kingdom]] and UsefulNotes/{{Ireland}}; and via the U.S. Postal Service [[CaptainObvious in the United States]]. Their streamed content ("Instant Play", "Watch Instantly", or "Netflix Instant Play") can be viewed via Windows, Chromebook, and Mac OS X computers (bringing up other Linux distros support is a sore subject in parts of the net), internet-connected game consoles, [=TiVo=], most BluRay players, and set-top streaming boxes such as Apple TV and Roku. Basically at this point if you have a media player or console with an Internet connection since 2012, it'll have Netflix on it.

Available content includes both television shows (including animation) and movies. On the television front, Netflix was and still is primarily known as ''the'' source to obtain reruns, but Netflix is also making [[ExecutiveMeddling a heavy push]] towards original, exclusive content. Several of its new shows (including ''[[Series/HouseOfCardsUS House of Cards]]'', ''Series/OrangeIsTheNewBlack'' and the ''Series/ArrestedDevelopment'' revival) have been massive hits, with ''House of Cards'' being the first ever original WebVideo production to win Emmy Awards. In addition Netflix has inked a big exclusive content deal with DreamworksAnimation for original animated production while MarvelComics has made a similar deal for original SuperHero series like ''ComicBook/{{Daredevil}}'' and ''LukeCage''.
