A romance, sexual or otherwise, between two different species. Sometimes they are HumanoidAliens, or they can be a FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire and a human, two {{Funny Animal}}s, or a BeastAndBeauty couple. The type of species can diverge greatly, so long as they are different.

May include a moral about the FantasticRacism version of inter-racial romances. Also may be StarcrossedLovers. Anyone looking for more built in angst will make one of these a MayflyDecemberRomance. In [[MohsScaleOfScienceFictionHardness less realistic]] settings, can easily result in {{Half Human Hybrid}}s or {{Hybrid Monster}}s, or even {{Random Species Offspring}}s.

Chances of it actually becoming an OfficialCouple (and evolving into a mixed marriage) are increased if the nonhuman has a [[HumanAliens human form]]. Although there is an element of {{Squick}} amongst a certain number of audience members, most people accept it in cases where there are ''no'' humans involved. For anthropomorphic animals, this can be a source of FurryConfusion, especially if they're the ''only'' couple seen to be of different species.

For some this is [[BoldlyComing the way to go about First Contact]]. [[AlienInvasion Alien invaders]] seemingly love to tempt humans with this as part of their {{Masquerade}}, although [[HowToInvadeAnAlienPlanet you'd think they'd learn better]].

May involve ExoticEquipment or the MaleToFemaleUniversalAdaptor. May lead to {{Half Human Hybrid}}s or to a NonhumanLoverReveal if one member was keeping secrets. If society does not approve of such romance, then it's also MalignedMixedMarriage. InterspeciesFriendship is the platonic version of this trope.

As the music begins, Kanye is shown in a spacecraft revealing pictures before zooming out of the craft. In the video, Perry, as an "alien", drifts through outer space before landing on an abandoned Earth covered with litter. Clips are interspersed of large felids hunting game. Meanwhile, West is featured in the video floating in a traveling spacecraft.

* The origins of the [[spoiler:Furude]] family in ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry'' stem from a marriage between a human and a demon ([[spoiler:Hanyuu]]). Note: [[spoiler:Hanyuu was older than the form seen in the 7th and 8th novels during said marriage.]]
