-->-- '''WebVideo/TheCinemaSnob''' [[http://thecinemasnob.com/2013/09/05/friday-the-13th-part-2.aspx reviewing]] ''Film/FridayThe13thPart2'' and watching a girl carrying a chainsaw

A common reference of a SlasherMovie serial killer: a big guy wielding a chainsaw and wearing a hockey mask. Enormously common in parodies and tributes of the genre.

This is largely a CompositeCharacter between two of the most famous SlasherMovie killers: Jason Voorhees of the ''Franchise/FridayThe13th'' series and Leatherface of ''Franchise/TheTexasChainsawMassacre'' series.

While it might seem like a case of [[TheyJustDidntCare pure carelessness]], even the people who know a lot about horror films use this trope, so that's not the case. It's just as likely just a CaptainErsatz of the two, since neither of them are [[PublicDomainCharacter in the public domain]].
