!Tropes associated with the genre:
* AnachronismStew: Flapper girls, speakeasies, and robots often share face time in the imagery associated with electro swing, as the above image shows.
* ColbertBump: There's an uptick in interest in the genre among the ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'' fandom after an ''amazing'' VillainSong in [[WesternAnimation/StevenUniverseTheMovie the 2019 movie.]]
* DieselPunk: By remixing vintage jazz, swing, and big band music with EDM, house, and hip-hop, electro swing achieves this effect.
* MemeticMutation: Parov Stelar's "Catgroove" has been remixed with numerous videos and .gifs, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtaPo7PRVqg most frequently set to]] ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic''.
** This would not be the last time Ponies would meet this genre, either. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0i91XtAH7iA Caravan Palace would get the 'PMV' treatment, too.]]
** Fake Type's "Nightmare Parade" also spawned an animated dance craze. [[AscendedMeme The band even released their own animated video]] featuring Ms. Iwasake and Baron Ham as FunnyAnimals doing said dance.
