-> "There's already two Xs in Xbox, you dozy gits, this name's starting to look like a defaced game of TabletopGame/TicTacToe!"
-->-- Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw on the Platform/XboxOne X

A variant of XtremeKoolLetterz, seen used in both work titles and in names.

The letter X is already fascinating and XMakesAnythingCool cool, so double the X, double the awesomeness! Right? Much like XtremeKoolLetterz, it's often meant to evoke badassery, or lend the show an air of youthful hipness and coolness. Alternatively it's often associated with PornNames, especially when you add a third Xs. Tripling the Xs is also associated with moonshine.

How exxactly you're supposed to pronounce this is usually unclear.

Not to be confused with Music/TheXX, though they are an exxample of this trope.

!!Exxamples:

* Advertising/TheMostInterestingManInTheWorld doesn't always drink beer, but when he does, he prefers Dos Equis (from Spanish, literally "double X"; the beer was first brewed around 1897 and initially called "Siglo XX" (20th Century), but the prominent double X logo earned it the nickname "Dos Equis"; this nickname was eventually made its official name.). Stay thirsty, my friends.

* Anime/AfterWarGundamX has, of course, the MidSeasonUpgrade MS, the "Gundam Double X". However, this is justified in that it was designed to possess double the firepower of the Gundam X, as well as two Sattelite Cannons, essentially making it twice the Gundam the X was. It's also played with in that despite its pronunciation, "XX" appears nowhere in its name or designation.
* However, the designations of the Gundams in Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing play this straight, with all of their alphanumerics beginning with "XXXG".
* Anime/DarlingInTheFranxx, after the titular mecha, in turn named after their creator Dr. Franxx. The XX turns out later to have grater significance: [[spoiler:chromosomes. Klaxosaurs and Franxx alike are built of bio-metal with entirely XX DNA. Dr. Werner Frank changed his name after meeting the Klaxosaur Princess and going loopy for her.]]
* Manga/LoveGeneXX: is a sci-fi yuri romance set in a futuristic LadyLand- in this case the "xx" refers to the fact that the love interests (and all other characters) have XX chromosomes.

* TabletopGame/Fluxx

* ComicBook/TheMaxx
* Creator/MarvelComics' Roxxon Energy Corporation, a BrandX of Exxon (see RealLife section).

* The German movie Film/DerWixxer.
* Foxxy Cleopatra from Film/AustinPowersInGoldmember.
* Averted in Film/TheGreatDictator where the ANaziByAnyOtherName Nazis By Another Name use the XX (the "Double-Cross") logo in place of the swastika.
* Film/Traxx
* Agent Triple X is the codename of Bond's DistaffCounterpart in Film/TheSpyWhoLovedMe. It also serves as the obligatory suggestive BondGirl name, given that her actual name is Anya Amasova.

* The Taxxons from Literature/Animorphs.
* When Max Barry wrote the book Syrup, he authored it under a byline of "Maxx Barry". When he wrote Literature/JenniferGovernment, he considered making it 3 Xs before settling back on 1.
* The Franchise/StarWarsExpandedUniverse gives us a character with the alias Teh Roxxor.
* A story in Carl Sandburg's Literature/RootabagaTales features a young woman with a fondness for suitors with Xs in their names: she sequentially dates men with the last names Bixby, Axenbax...and Sixbixdix.

* The spaceship Series/Lexx, from a series of the same name.
* German game show [=GoXX=].
* The German show Reläxx.
* The main character (and host) of Series/DoubleTheFist, Steve Foxx.
* In one episode of Series/HowIMetYourMother, a fake magazine (featuring women bodybuilders) called Muscle Sexxy is mentioned.

* Music/Scooter's lead vocalist H.P. Baxxter, whose real name is actually Hans Peter Geerdes. H.P. first started using the surname Baxxter back in the 80s when he was part of the synthpop group Celebrate The Nun, and it was no-doubt chosen because of gothic coolness associated with the double x.
* Music/Band's Born Slippy (N.U.X.X.)
* Music/TheyMightBeGiants' "S~E~X~X~Y", which is always pronounced as the 5 letters. Not explained, except "because it's extra, baby".
* Music/TheXX named themselves after this, although they were originally X until they realised there were other bands with that name (their album cover was kept the same).
* 2020's Korean Pop group Music/NMIXX, and yes they admit the double-x is meant to evoke coolness.
* There are numerous bootleg compilations called Ultra Rare Traxx or Trax. Calling them 'Traxx' was a way of disguising the fact that they weren't always songs.
* Music/Outkast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
* Nikki Sixx of Music/MotleyCrue, Sixx:A.M., etc.
* Basement Jaxx
* New Wave rock band Music/TheFixx are an enforced example. The band were performing as The Fix when they started negotiating their first major label record deal, but MCA refused to sign them with that name because of the drug connotations. Adding a second x was an acceptable compromise for both sides, and the deal was struck.

* The infamous Axxel, although in this case it is almost certainly WritingAroundTrademarks, as his infamy comes from his uncle, El Hijo Del Santo's, attempts to end his career, often with threats of legal action against promotions that book him.
* When Wrestling/WCW signed the USWA wrestler Max Pain, he of course became Wrestling/MaxxPayne, because the regular spelling apparently wasn't hardcore enough for the 1990s. This is also where the 1-2-3 Kid became Syxx.
* Wrestling/WCW also had Maxx Muscle, a bodyguard for Wrestling/DiamondDallasPage, who later joined the Wrestling/DungeonOfDoom.
* Dropkixx Promotions, an enterprise based in London of the UK. Among the title belts they hosted defenses of was the Wrestling/ationalWrestlingAllianceWA United Kingdom Junior Heavyweight Title, which was once won by Beau Jaxx...
* Sexxxy Eddy of Canada's International Wrestling Syndicate, then nCw, then Wrestling/CZW...
* Miss Rachel was known as Pandora Boxxx when she wrestled in France and The UK, prior to being defeated by and marrying LT Falk, then relocating to the southern USA.
* Jorge Estrada, who wrestled for NWA Wildside and Wrestling/ECW. A Latin Heartthrob so Hexxy they had to spell it with two xs.
* Magnitude Kishiwada and Gamma teamed as "[=FluXxx=]" in Osaka Pro and Wrestling/DragonGate.
* Jaimy [=CoxXx=], most commonly wrestling in the Detroit based XICW, although his suggestive name unsurprisingly comes from Wrestling/JuggaloChampionshipWrestling.
* Nikki Roxx of the Killer Babes, Pretty Bitchin and Wrestling/Unger's All Star Squad...or Roxxi Laveaux to you TNA fans. No relation to NWA World Women's Champ Tiffany Roxx...
* Julie The Red Fuxxx, a miscreant from south of the boarder who became the female face of northern Championship wrestling, prior to the Femme Fatales SpinOff built around [=LuFisto=](nCw is very fond of nonstandard letter use, if you couldn't tell).
* Bryan Alvarez's slightly less famous but much more successful TagTeam partner in the Canadian ICW, Nicki Sixx. He had a temporary DistaffCounterpart when The Black Rose Nikki Adams briefly went by Nikki Syxx in Wrestling/WSU.
* AJ Sparxx...though this might be just to distinguish him from the female AJ Sparks(who people naively believed pre Wrestling/GailKim TNA would do something with)...
* Bexx, better known in the UK as Zak Zodiac of the Knight family.
* Strong man Jaxx from the German Wrestling Federation's school.
* Ashley Sixx, or Ash for short. Given "Ashley" is a common woman's name in Canada, the extra x seems to be something to make these guys seem more manly, as if Ashley's sideburns weren't enough. There's also a Kelly Sixx, who mainly wrestled in the UK and eventually settled on the much less ambiguous ring name "Josh".
* Ann Brookstone, whose disgusting habits earned her the nickname "Ann Thraxx".
* NWA Top Of Texas and NWA Midwest had "Biohaxxard" Jeremiah St. James, a heavyweight champion of the former.
* Lexxus, later known as Alexxis Nevaeh and "The Double X Diva".
* Before he was Wrestling/SethRollins, before he was Tyler Black, before he was Taj The Destroyer, he debuted for Scott Country Wrestling as Gixx!
* Stix and Stone, the TagTeam of Martin Stone...and Stixx in the UK.
* Wrestling/JonMoxley was sometimes billed as "Moxley Moxx" in IWA Puerto Rico, IWasBeatenByAGirl most famously when he lost the hardcore belt to then rookie sensation La Amazona.
* Wrestling/CMLL and Wrestling/AAA have the Gargoyle luchador Groon XXX on their B shows. There is also a Mini Groon XXX on the Mexican independent circuit.
* Maxx Stardom, who only spells his Spanish name, Maximo Estrella, with one x. Then again, he originally just when by Max Stardom in English too until his TagTeam with Mykal Manix started breaking down...
* Austrian wrestler Max Moran is frequently billed as "Mexx" and "Mexxberg". This may be in reference to the Nordic fashion company, and, of course, Wrestling/Goldberg.
* Wrestling/ChristinaVonEerie became "Toxxin" when officially signed to TNA.
* Subverted with the XX title belt of Texas based Inspire Pro Wrestling. It means "ladies only".
* Madi Maxx, who purposefully spells it that way to annoy people. She "loves haters".
* Andrew Palace and Chest Flexor teamed as "Flexxx Palace" in the International Wrestling Cartel.
* [=Hi69=] and Taiji Ishimori originally teamed with Wrestling/KotaIbushi for a joke in Wrestling/DramaticDreamTeam. However, twelve years later, they would reunite without him much more seriously as XX, decisively winning Wrestling/ProWrestlingNOAH's GHC Junior Heavyweight TagTeam Titles and almost winning AAA's Lucha Libre World Cup.
* Axx Clover, an aptly named GarbageWrestler most commonly seen around Florida, especially AWE's Hardcore Division.

* VideoGame/Zaxxon
* Exxon
* Boxxle, a VideoGame/Sokoban game on the original UsefulNotes/GameBoy.
* VideoGame/Vexx, a PlatformGame.
* Rumble Roses XX. If there ever were a third game, which there probably won't, perhaps it would have been called XXX.
* And similarly, Guilty Gear XX. Some releases instead opted for Guilty Gear X2 and the "XX" is actually pronounced "igzex" (partially stemming from the "X" in Guilty Gear X being pronounced "zex").
* Akumajō Dracula XX, the Japanese title of the SNES game VideoGame/CastlevaniaDraculaX.
* Ataxx and its later adaptation, Hexxagon.
* Rexxon, the villainous alien race in the flight simulator Epic.

* Cardiaxx, a sci-fi style shoot 'em up for the Amiga.

* Some of the songs in the Max series in VideoGame/DanceDanceRevolution add a second X for good measure, like "MAXX UNLIMITED" and "Fascination MAXX." The course with all the Max songs is called "MAX of MAXX."
* The character of Mad Moxxi from the VideoGame/Borderlands series.
* VideoGame/CloneBloxx

* As a tribute to Redd Foxx, actor/comedian/singer Creator/JamieFoxx (real name Eric Marlon Bishop).
* Unrelated to either Redd or Jamie, original Ultravox singer John Foxx (real name Dennis Leigh).
* UsefulNotes/Baseball Hall of Famer Jimmie Foxx. Yep, that was his real name. Yep, his nickname was "Double X."
* XXX-rated movies. This is really just a marketing gimmick, implying "X" is dirty. (Even if a lot of legitimate films were rated X.) And that "XXX" is three times dirtier.
** And of course all the, er, adult, performers who add multiple X's to their stage names, on the same principle.
