[[caption-width-right:300:Hairs and eyes ColourCodedForYourConvenience.]]

This is something of a logical counterpart to CommonEyeColors: If a character has freaky, cool, or otherwise unusual hair colours, their eyes are liable to match. "Unusual", of course, needs to be taken with a grain of salt when it comes to AnimeHair. Comic books and western animation are also likely to display this trope.

Some series use this to make a character stand out as being "weird" or "different", especially if it's an uncommon color. Others use this for their entire cast.

May be used as a form of TechnicolorEyes.

Not to be confused with [[DoubleEntendre the carpet matching the drapes]].

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:Anime and Manga]]
* [[ChivalrousPervert Cross Marian]], of ''DGrayMan''
** [[http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crossmarian_9707.jpg His nice red eye matches his fiery red hair.]]
* Just about ''every'' character in the ''Manga/FruitsBasket'' manga, except the characters with black hair, who have dark gray or dark brown eyes, and the natural blondes, who have brown eyes.
* Quite a few characters in ''Anime/{{Pokemon}}'', be they lifted from the games or anime-original characters.
* A great deal of the cast of ''Franchise/SailorMoon'' matches this trope. Of the heroes, Chibiusa, Ami, Michiru, Rei, and Hotaru. And in some artbook pictures, all of them do, including Sailor Moon herself. Of the rest of the cast, all of the Witches Five, several of the Anima-Mates, and Princess Kakyuu.
* Hana from ''Manga/SevenSeeds'' is portrayed with golden-brown hair and eyes in most color illustrations.
* Dijiko (green eyes and hair), Puchiko (brown hair and eyes), and Hikaru (pink hair and eyes) from ''Anime/DiGiCharat''
* Edward Elric from ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist''. His amber-colored eyes match his blond hair. Alphonse and Hohenheim also share this trait, since this is a trait of all people from [[spoiler:Xerxes]].
* The ''Manga/TokyoMewMew'' girls in their Mew Mew forms (and all the time in the manga). Except Berii, 'cause she's [[GodModeSue special]].
* In the anime ''HauntedJunction'', a large number of characters have hair and eyes the same color, including two out of the three leads.
* ''Manga/MermaidMelodyPichiPichiPitch''
** Every mermaid when not in human form, except Lucia, who only has this ''when'' in human form. Go figure.
** Averted and zigzagged with the Black Beauty Sisters. Sheshe has red hair and blue eyes and Mimi has blue hair and red eyes.
* Most of the main cast of every version of ''Anime/PrettyCure''. So far, the trope is used by the following:
** ''Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure'' - Hikari/Shiny Luminous
** ''Anime/FutariWaPrettyCureSplashStar'' - Saki Hyuga/Cure Bloom and Mai Mishou/Cure Egret
** ''Anime/YesPrettyCure5'' - Everybody minus Kurumi Mirino/Milky Rose
** ''Anime/FreshPrettyCure'' - Inori Yamabuki/Cure Pine and Miki Aono (not her Cure form)
** ''Anime/HeartcatchPrettyCure'' - Everyone except Cure Moonlight (her civilian form counts, though)
** ''Anime/SuitePrettyCure'' - Ako Shirabe (not her Cure form)
** ''Anime/SmilePrettyCure'' - The whole team provides the trope's image up above.
** ''Anime/DokiDokiPrecure'' - Everyone minus Cure Heart because PowerDyesYourHair (her civilian form does count, though) and Aguri Madoka (her Cure form does count because PowerDyesYourHair). To put it simply, these two [[InvertedTrope invert]] the way they [[SubvertedTrope subvert]] the trope.
** ''Anime/HappinessChargePrettyCure'' - Everybody yet again.
* Some characters in ''Anime/{{Pretear}}'', for example: Himeno (the [[RedEyesTakeWarning red-eyed]] RedHeadedHero) and Mawata (blueish-green hair and eyes).
* Fakir in ''Anime/PrincessTutu'', green hair and green eyes.
* Hayate in ''Manga/HayateTheCombatButler'', and the student council trio.
* All the girls except Doremi (who has red hair and literal pink eyes) and Hazuki (shown as having brown hair and orange eyes) in ''Anime/OjamajoDoremi''.
* Megumi in ''TanteiGakuenQ''.
* Lina Inverse of the ''LightNovel/{{Slayers}}'' fame is a red-eyed redhead, and Xellos is purple-haired with lavender eyes.
* Hikaru and Umi from ''Manga/MagicKnightRayearth'' have red eyes/red hair and blue eyes/blue hair respectively. Originally, the third of the trio, Fuu, was going to have green hair to go with her green eyes, but the artists decided on giving her blonde hair instead, though some manga art make it a greenish yellow. Interestingly, the "color-coordinated" jokes went to Fuu and her sorta love interest Ferio, who has green hair and yellow eyes.
* Bulma and her daughter Bra from ''Anime/DragonBallZ''. Her son Trunks retains his purple hair.
* ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha''
** Wendi of ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikerS''. She somehow managed to be a GenkiGirl despite having both {{red eyes| take warning}} and [[FieryRedhead red hair]].
** Others from the franchise include [[IntangibleMan Sein]] (Turquoise), [[EmotionlessGirl Sette]] (Pink), and [[ChurchMilitant Schach]] (Purple).
** [[SmallGirlBigGun Dieci]] is a more mundane example with light brown hair and eyes.
** ''[[MagicalRecordLyricalNanohaForce FORCE]]'' has [[EvilRedhead red]]-and-[[RedEyesTakeWarning red]] Arnage as well as blonde Cypha.
* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}''
** Yachiru with pink hair and eyes.
** Grimmjow as well, with his blue hair and eyes.
* ''Manga/DNAngel''
** Daisuke (red hair and eyes), Dark (purple), Satoshi (blue), and Krad (yellow).
** The Harada twins both have brown hair and brown eyes. In the anime, this was interesting because Riku's hair was changed to red instead of brown, but her eye color remained the same, implying that she might have dyed her hair in order to look different from her sister.
* ''Webcomic/{{Kubera}}'': Used to identify half-breeds in Kubera because pure-blooded humans generally have matching hair and eye colors. When Maruna kidnaps Agwen in a failed attempt to use her as a hostage, he notes that her hair and eye color do not match and therefore she probably was the daughter of half-human, half-dragon Kasak. He's right, he was just mistaken in assuming taking a hostage would be effective against a dragon when the entire race has dulled emotions.
* The Kaoru Twins from ''RevolutionaryGirlUtena''.
* ''Manga/ShugoChara''
** A lot of characters have this problem. Rima, Ikuto, Ran, Miki, Dia, Yaya, Nikaidou, Kusu Kusu...
** It seems most guardian characters are like this, with the exception of Pepe, who has blue eyes, Suu, whose hair is blonde while her eyes and outfit are green, Il, who has red, and El...whose eyes are [[EyesAlwaysShut always closed]].
* Manga/{{Yotsuba}} has green hair and green eyes.
* Most characters from ''Manga/SetoNoHanayome'' have this eyes/hair match. Sun has gold and Luna has pink (but it's opposite for their mermaid tails - Sun has pink and Luna has yellow). Mawari has a violet combination. Shiranui and Class President have light green eyes and hair. Other characters have more natural combinations of hair and eyes (black or brown).
* Very common in ''LightNovel/{{Baccano}}'', as demonstrated by Rachel, Nice, Nicholas, Luck, Ronnie (yellow), Claire, Ennis (reddish-brown), Czeslaw, Dallas, Jaccuzi (brown), and Sylvie (gray). Even more so in the books, where color illustrations apply this to Firo, Isaac, Lua, and Eve as well (not to mention the not yet animated characters).
* ''Manga/MahouSenseiNegima'':
** Nodoka, in the manga only, with violet hair and PurpleEyes ([[AdaptationDyeJob in the other series, she gets blue or red eyes]]). It fits [[ShrinkingViolet her personality]].
** Yue, as well, gets PurpleEyes and purple hair in most adaptations of the series (in the first anime series, she gets blue hair).
** The OAD series has fun with this. [[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters Negi, Chisame, Fuka, Fumika, Makie, Chachazero, Kaede, Chizuru, Misora, Satsuki, Asakura, and Albireo]] all have this, a [[AdaptationDyeJob stark contrast to the other Adaptations]].
* Half of the members of the central [[CastFullOfPrettyBoys team of pretty guys]] in ''HarukanaruTokiNoNakaDe'' (the TV series, at least) have eyes matching their hair; and one of those who don't technically doesn't quite fit into exceptions either.
* Gojyo in ''Manga/{{Saiyuki}}'' has blood red hair and eyes. It's said to be proof that he's a "taboo child", the product of a forbidden union between a human and a youkai.
* Solty from ''SoltyRei'' (green).
* The main characters from ''PrincessPrincess''.
* Most of the characters in ''Manga/HidamariSketch'' have matching hair and eye colors. There's the four main characters (brown, yellow, blue, and pink), Yoshinoya (green), the landlady (brown), Chika (light purple), Natsume (blue-green), Nori (blue gray). In fact, the only character who doesn't is the Principal, and that's only because [[EyesAlwaysShut you never see his eyes]].
* Hare and Weda from ''[[JungleWaItsumoHaleNochiGuu Hare + Guu]]'' (blue).
* LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya: Asakura Ryoko, with [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair identical shades of navy blue]] hair and eyes.
* ALL girls in ''{{Kanamemo}}''.
* ''Manga/KatekyoHitmanReborn''
** Tsuna has brown hair and brown eyes (although his eyes [[KaleidoscopeEyes change]] to become orange-ish yellow when he goes into Dying Will Mode).
** Also, the Varia member Fran, with Teal/Green (dependent upon illustration) eyes and hair.
* Tessa from ''Lightnovel/FullMetalPanic'' has gray hair to match her gray eyes.
* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}''
** Karin with red hair and red eyes, as well as Jugo, who has orange hair and orange eyes (though [[AdaptationDyeJob his eyes are more reddish in the anime]]).
** Sasuke has black hair and eyes
** It depends on the adaptation. [[http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/238/797569-keiichi_maebara_default_large.jpg In the original videogame]], he has blue eyes, and in the anime, he has purple eyes.
* The Mist People in ''KemonoNoSoujaErin'' all have green hair and green eyes, including the half breed protagonist.
* Shana from ''LightNovel/ShakuganNoShana'' has matching red hair and eyes in her Flame Haze form.
* Some SaintSeiya characters do this - in the manga, [[AnIcePerson Aquarius]] [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Camus]] has bright red hair and eyes (as well as long red nails), and [[TheHero Pegasus]] [[TooDumbToLive Seiya]] has brown hair and eyes. In the anime, [[TheDragon Wyvern Rhadamanthys]] is a blonde with scary yellow eyes, [[CoolSword Capricorn Shura's]] ensemble is green, as is [[TechnicalPacifist Andromeda]] [[RealMenWearPink Shun's]], and [[MeaningfulName Cancer]] [[AxCrazy Deathmask]] and [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome Phoenix]] [[{{Badass}} Ikki]] both have dark blue hair and eyes. [[SomethingAboutARose Pisces Aphrodite]] has bright blue hair, bright blue eyes, [[GorgeousGeorge and bright blue lipstick]].
* GakuenHeaven employs this, with the two blue-haired characters, Omi and Nakajima, having light blue and dark blue eyes respectively. Iwai, with gray hair and eyes, also qualifies.
* ''Manga/DeathNote''
** Light Yagami, [[RedEyesTakeWarning except when they're red]].
** Though ''Manga/DeathNote'' is very good about natural eye and hair colours - all the Japanese characters have brown or black eyes. Misa wears tinted lenses - her eyes change between brown and blue. Light's hair is [[EvilRedhead probably bleached]].
* Most of the characters in ''YumeiroPatissiere''.
* The shinigami Watari (golden-blond hair and amber eyes) and the villain Dr. Muraki (silvery-gray eyes and silvery-white hair) in ''YamiNoMatsuei''.
* Special mention goes to ''KyouKaraMaou'' for making this a plot point. Shibuya Yuuri's looks (including his black/dark brown hair and eyes) are considered average in his native Japan, but when he ends up in a demon country in another world where the combination is extremely rare, he is hailed as a 'soukoku' (double black) and considered highly attractive and regal looking as a result.
** Also of note is [[MagnificentBastard King Saralegui]], who has [[BlondGuysAreEvil blond hair]] and gold eyes. Also a plot point as it means [[spoiler:he's part of a very-near extinct race (that was sealed away) with [[HypnoticEyes extraordinary powers]].]]
* ''{{Shiki}}'' has Megumi Shimizu, a bratty ElegantGothicLolita with [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair pink]] eyes and hair.
* ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'' has Amuro with BrownEyes and Brown Hair.
* In ''Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam'' we have Kamille Bidan with Blue Hair and Blue Eyes.
* Michiru from ''UtaKata'' has both PurpleEyes and purple hair.
* ''Manga/BlackButler''
** In the manga, Agni is shown to have white eyes matching his white hair.
** Madame Red's eyes and hair are...well, [[CaptainObvious red]].
** Ciel's hair is also often shown to be blue, the same color as his eyes, though his hair is a much darker shade.
** His ''eye'', you mean. In the manga, his hair is a very faded blue/gray, while his eyes are almost navy. In the anime, they're almost exactly the same.
** Mei-Rin has this as well.
* Most or all important characters in ''Manga/{{Bakuman}}''.
* Midori from ''Manga/MidoriNoHibi'', also notable as the only character in the series (besides her mom) to have naturally unnatural hair color.
* Lawrence from ''LightNovel/SpiceAndWolf'' has gray eyes with gray hair - even though he's only 25.
* As depicted on the manga covers of ''LiarGame'', Nao Kanzaki and Shinichi Akiyama have (respectively) orange and yellow hair and eyes.
* All of the named girls in ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica''; Madoka (pink), Sayaka (blue), Mami (blonde hair and gold eyes), Kyouko (red), Hitomi (green)...except Homura, who has black hair despite [[PurpleEyes being associated]] with [[PurpleIsTheNewBlack purple]] (though it's possible that purple is used because black or grey eyes wouldn't look right, and [[spoiler:a Soul Gem being gray or black means [[EldritchAbomination something else entirely]]]]).
** The spinoffs would largely avert this trope, though they still tend to feature AnimeHair and TechnicolorEyes. The most famous example would probably the TheMovie's Nagisa Momoe (white hair, yellow eyes), but there's also [[PuellaMagiOrikoMagica Oriko (gray hair, green eyes), Yuma (green hair, blue eyes), Kirika (black hair, yellow eyes),]] and [[PuellaMagiKazumiMagica Kazumi (black hair, red eyes)]]. It's especially odd given the extreme prevalence of the trope in the original, with even [[JoanOfArc historical figures]] being given the layout.
* The same occurs with the main cast of ''Anime/VividredOperation''. Even the girls' names invoke their colors.
* ''WanderingSon'' characters are made to fit this lately. As all characters are either brunettes or raven, the characters all have brown or black eyes. Originally, this trope was subverted, as everyone had BrownEyes. The mangaka makes sure to make the eyes have the same shade as the hair, too.
* ''LightNovel/AiNoKusabi'' has Riki with black hair to go with his black eyes, which is significant to the plot.
* Almost everyone in ''Anime/Persona4TheAnimation''. See it's entry in "VideoGames" below.
* Done to an extent in the ''Franchise/{{Digimon}}'' franchise: All the lead characters have brown hair and brown eyes.
* Almost (if not) everyone from ''Manga/KurokoNoBasuke''. Especially the main characters and the ones with unusual hair colours.
* The main PowerTrio of Arusu, Eva and Sheila in ''Anime/TweenyWitches''.
* All three main [[http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m6a570ZYxb1r4pqefo1_500.jpg characters]] plus a couple of others from "Manga/MagiLabyrinthOfMagic"
* Ririchiyo (purple), Karuta (pink) and Zange (red) of ''Manga/InuXBokuSS''.
* ''ScienceNinjaTeamGatchaman'' has Jun, who has not only green eyes but green hair as well. Averted in the [=OVA=] version, however (though they had initially considering making both her hair and eyes blue).
* ''Manga/KotouraSan'': Haruka (orange), Manabe and Daichi (black), Hiyori (deep red), Yuriko (blue).
* Little less humanoid version: In ''RosarioToVampire'', when [[spoiler:Tsukune's Holy Lock breaks and he goes OneWingedAngel]], his eyes are blank white and his hair pulls the same stunt.
* Houko from ''Manga/DansaiBunriNoCrimeEdge'' is a redhead with crimson eyes.
* In ''Manga/{{Yuyushiki}}'', the three characters Yui (Blonde), Yukari (blueish purple) and Yuzuko (pink) falls into this trope. In fact, their eyes are of ''those colours'' InUniverse, as lampshaded in one skit.
* Rin from ''LightNovel/KanojoGaFlagOOraretara'' has green eyes and hair.
* Nanami Momozono from ''Manga/KamisamaKiss'' has brown hair and brown eyes.
* Many of the girls from ''LightNovel/HagureYuushaNoEstetica'' have this. Chikage Izumi and Minami Aihara both have brown hair and eyes. Haruka Nagase has green hair and eyes. Princess Listy his yellow hair and eyes.
* ''Franchise/KagerouProject'': Shintaro, Hiyori and Haruka have black hair and black eyes, Ayano has large brown eyes that match her hair (anime only; other adaptations have her hair a much darker shade), Momo has strawberry-blonde hair and similarly coloured gold eyes (the anime gives her black eyes instead), Kano has light blonde hair and yellow eyes, Ene has medium blue-turquoise hair and eyes of the same shade and Hibiya's hair and eyes are the same shade of pale brown.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comic Books]]
* ''Comicbook/{{X-Men}}''
** Polaris and Psylocke both have unusual hair colors (Psylocke's is purple, Polaris' green), and their eyes match. The New X-men's Surge has blue hair and eyes.
** Of course, Psylocke started out as a blonde who dyed her hair purple, then got (against her will) bionic eyes to match (after losing her original blue eyes), then got body-swapped into a Japanese body and dyed her ''black'' hair purple.
** Ditto for Surge: when asked, she confessed her blue hair "came from a bottle".
** Polaris is all natural, though (when we first met her, her hair was dyed brown. Green is its natural color.)
* SelfDemonstrating/TheJoker has green hair and green eyes, [[DependingOnTheArtist usually]], and the specific shade might not completely match with his hair, either. There is, however, the occasional artist who gives him purple, red, or black eyes (and [[IThoughtItMeant not the kind]] [[JustForPun he frequently receives from Batman]], either).
* ''TheHulk'' usually has green eyes to match his hair and skin.
* ''[[Comicbook/TeenTitans Teen Titans]]'':
** Beast Boy usually has both green eyes and hair (along with his skin), except in the New 52 reboot where everything green on him became red.
** Miss Martian sometimes has magenta or red eyes to match her hair, but sometimes averts this.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:FanWorks]]
* FanFic/AGrowingAffection has:
** The Kouin sisters normally have blue hair and eyes, but one of them assumes green hair and another green eyes to trick their opponents.
** Saburo of the Grass has matching light green hair and eyes.
** [[spoiler: Toshiro Inuzuka has light brown hair and eyes.]]
* ''Fanfic/AceCombatTheEquestrianWar'' has a few characters, most notable being Lightning Bolt, Sunburst and [[spoiler: [[AceCombat04 Mobius]]]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Literature]]
* Melisandre, from ''ASongOfIceAndFire'', has red hair and eyes. She also always dresses in red and worships a god associated with the colour red as well. Averted with just about everyone else, though, with the exception of 'Young Griff', whose eyes are a curious shade of blue to match his dyed blue hair. He's actually [[spoiler:Aegon Targaryen]] (supposedly), and it's [[spoiler: [[DyeOrDie a clever disguise]], hiding both his [[ColourCodedForYourConvenience distinctive Targaryen]] hair (silver) and eyes (purple, but reflect the blue from his hair)]].
* "Bess, the landlord's daughter", the love interest of the titular bandit in the poem "The Highwayman", has black hair and black eyes.
* Ilse Burnley from L.M. Montgomery's ''Emily of New Moon'' has yellow hair and yellow (actually technically very, very light brown--"almost amber") eyes.
* DocSavage has bronze-flecked eyes to match his bronze-flecked hair and skin - hence the "Man of Bronze" moniker.
* ''Literature/HarryPotter''
** Severus Snape, with black hair and black eyes. He also ''wears'' black all the time, just in case his natural features doesn't make him [[AmbiguouslyEvil sinister enough]].
** [[TheSmartGirl Hermione]] has brown hair and eyes, possibly to emphasise how "plain" she's meant to be.
* In ZilphaKeatleySnyder's ''The Changeling'', Ivy Carson has black hair and eyes that are "dark grey, a kind of smoky black".
* ''Literature/ChantersOfTremaris''' Mica has golden-blond hair and gold eyes.
* ''Literature/TheMortalInstruments'': Jace Wayland has blonde hair and gold coloured eyes.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* In ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'', Evil!Willow has black eyes and black hair; Goddess!Willow has white eyes and white hair.
* [[Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration Deanna Troi]] has black hair and eyes. The eyes are a Betazoid racial trait.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Music]]
* With only a few exceptions, every Music/{{Vocaloid}} has this going on.
* In the Music/{{Pentatonix}} "Music/DaftPunk" video, the band members wear IcyBlueEyes contact lenses (except for Kevin who wears CoolShades). Kristie also wears a pale blue wig and make-up.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Video Games]]
* Keele Zeibel in ''VideoGame/TalesOfEternia'' is a ''double'' example of sorts; his hair colour is either blue or purple depending upon the picture you are looking at (and has varied widely in shade and intensity of said blue or purple, besides...), with his eyes always being blue or purple to match.
* ''Franchise/AceAttorney'':
** Due to hardware limitations, everyone whose pupils aren't completely black/a dark dot in the first three games. There are a few exceptions however.
** Ema Skye, who, throughout the games, both averts and plays straight this trope, with her [[KaleidoscopeEyes amazing color-changing eyes,]] which are of a bright blue color in the first game (she has brown hair), but seem to be of a rather brown-ish color in her small profile picture in Apollo Justice [[spoiler:and during her appearance in Ace Attorney Investigations]].
* ''VideoGame/FireEmblem''
** Marth, Caeda, and Elise in ''FireEmblem:Shadow Dragon'' have blue eyes [[HairColors and hair]].
** Due to 16-colour palette restrictions, this trope applies to almost the entire cast of the first eight games.
** Lots in ''Sacred Stones'': Artur, Lute, Tethys, Ewan, L'Arachel, Marisa, Neimi, Vanessa, Syrene, Tana, and probably more.
** In ''Blazing Sword'', there's Lyn, Rebecca, Wil, Sain, Farina, Fiora, and Canas.
** Still fairly common in ''Path of Radiance'' and ''Radiant Dawn'', however. Ike, Boyd, Rhys, Lucia, Jill, and Ashera, to name a few.
* Claris (pink hair and eyes) and Elliot (blue hair and eyes), from NightsIntoDreams.
* Most characters in the ShinMegamiTensei games have this trope in effect, while those who ''don't'' follow this rule stand out (usually it's a hint that there's something special about them).
** Everyone in ''VideoGame/DigitalDevilSaga'' eventually gets this, though they all start out with GreyEyes. When a character's eye color changes to match their hair, it signifies that the character has awakened to their emotions. And of course, the one character that has both grey hair ''and'' eyes (main character Serph) [[TheStoic doesn't really show much emotion.]] [[spoiler:You find out why in the second game.]]
** Most of the cast of ''VideoGame/DevilSurvivor'' have this. For instance, TheHero has [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair blue hair]] / and eyes, [[TheChick Yuzu]] has brown/orange, [[MysteriousWaif Amane]] has [[PurpleEyes pale lavender]]...two notable exceptions are Naoya, who has {{red eyes| take warning}}, and IdolSinger Haru, who pairs red hair with gold eyes.
** {{Persona 3}}: only characters without this are RobotGirl Aigis (Blond hair and Blue eyes), "Bebe" the Foriegn exchange student (also blond and blue), Koromaru, an [[AmplifiedAnimalAptitude unusually intelligent canine]] (White fur and red eyes), and Ryoji, the mysterious NewTransferStudent.
** ''VideoGame/{{Persona 4}}'': In the original game, there were only '''2''' characters who's hair didn't match their eye color. [[spoiler: Teddie's human form (Blond hair, blue eyes) and Izanami's human form (whitish-grey hair and RED EYES), both of who are otherworldly beings of some sort.]] [[FaceOfAThug Kanji]], meanwhile, had blond hair and black eyes, but that's because he bleaches his hair.
*** The anime added Aika Nakamura, a blue-haired girl with dark brown eyes who has the uncanny ability to deliver fresh food to the team no matter where they are (even when they're being ''chased'' by a local delinquent), [[TheStoic remaining darn near emotionless the entire time]].
* ''RivieraThePromisedLand''
** Most of the main characters are subject to this trope--the only notable exceptions are Rose (black hair/green eyes), Ledah (blond/red eyes), and Malice (blond/blue eyes). And maybe Cierra, whose eyes are reddish purple.
** From the same series, we also have Maria and Meria, the heroines of ''KnightsInTheNightmare''. Their antagonist counterparts, Marietta and Melissa, are no different.
* Bartz, TheHero of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyV'', has both brown hair and brown eyes--unusual, for a series that seems to pride itself on [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair odd hair colors]] and its love affair with blue eyes.
* In ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIII'', Rinoa has black hair and black eyes, the better to contrast with her [[RavenHairIvorySkin incredibly pale skin]].
* ''VideoGame/DissidiaFinalFantasy'' has [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyI The Warrior of Light]], with silver-blue hair and eyes to match.
* Illua from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyTacticsA2'' has blue hair, blue eyes, and some blue lipstick to top it off.
* Quite often apparent in ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}''
** To make matters worse, a few gym leaders' eye have been ''recolored'' to match their hair color. Yes, I'm talking about [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:HeartGold_SoulSilver_Whitney.png Whitney]] and [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:HeartGold_SoulSilver_Falkner.png Falkner]] (and [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:HeartGold_SoulSilver_Jasmine.png Jasmine]]).
** Game Freak has been doing this with most of their characters lately. It's very apparent with the protagonists, where only [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Emerald_Brendan.png Brendan]] and [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Emerald_May.png May]] have different colored hair/eyes.
** [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Wally Wally]] IS this trope. And not just his hair and eyes, his pants and even ''his Pokémon'' (manga-wise) are all green. [[spoiler:And in the Adventures manga, he had to wake up Rayquaza. Needless to say, it's [[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:384Rayquaza.png green]].]]
** Averted with Hilda and Rosa in Generation V, who have brown hair and blue eyes. Played straight with Hilbert and Nate in the same generation. Generation VI averted it with ''both'' protagonists. Both of them have blue eyes, but neither have blue hair. The male character has brown hair and the female character has blonde.
* The whole party except for Mizuti in the first ''BatenKaitos'' game seems to have this. Kalas with blue hair and eyes, Xelha with blonde hair and yellow eyes, Lyude with red hair and red eyes, and, finally, Savyna with dark purple hair and dark purple eyes.
* ''VideoGame/{{Touhou}}''
** A good number of the girls of Gensokyo have this trait - most notably, [[CuteWitch Marisa Kirisame]] with her golden hair and eyes.
** In the PC-98 series, pretty much everyone has this, because of 16-bit palette limitations.
* Etna from the ''Franchise/{{Disgaea}}'' series has red hair and eyes. Though, interestingly, her hair was pink in the first game.
* Everyone in the original ''TokimekiMemorial''.
** And, by extension, the whole Classic Kirameki Saga, with only two exceptions: Patricia [=McGrath=] in ''Tokimeki Memorial Pocket'' on GBC (who, as a foreign student, gets the PhenotypeStereotype treatment), and Megumi Juuichiya in the ''Motto! Tokimeki Memorial'' Radio Drama stories (who's a rare case of CuteAndPsycho in the series).
* ''HarvestMoon'' has Popuri, who has [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair pink]] hair, leading to some UnfortunateImplications when you realize that she has, well, pink eyes.
** Its spinoff series, ''RuneFactory'', has a couple as well. The first has Bianca with purple hair and eyes, Tabatha with light blue hair and eyes, and Mei with dark brown hair and eyes. The second has Mana with black hair and eyes. The third has Monica with orange hair and eyes, Pia with pink hair and eyes, Sofia with purple hair and eyes, and Evelyn with fuchsia hair and eyes. The fourth features (possible) protagonist Frey with green hair and eyes, as well as Leon with light blue hair and eyes, Dolce with pink hair and eyes, Xiao Pai with mousy grey hair and eyes, and Bado with blue hair and eyes.
* Aqua, from ''KingdomHearts'', has blue eyes and hair.
* Kira from ''InfiniteSpace'' has mint-green eyes and hair. In the artbook, the Schneizer brothers' eyes have the same color as their hair (Bastian has dark brown and Dietrich has silver), but in the game, their eye colors are closer to gold.
* ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros''
** The original game had a variation of this: the Koopa Troopa enemies will either have red or green eyes depending on the color of their shells.
** Also, [[BigBad Bowser]] from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3'' onwards.
* ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOracleGames''
** In official art (since the games themselves were on GameBoy), the Oracles Nayru (blue), Din (red), and Farore (green).
** Ingame too, since they were on the GameBoyColor.
* ''VideoGame/GoldenSun''
** The [[KillItWithWater Mercury Clan of Imil]] tend to have blue eyes [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair and hair]]. Jenna has maroon eyes and hair, [[BlowYouAway Ivan's sister]] [[SpiderSense Hama]] has PurpleEyes and hair, [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge Karst of Prox]] has {{red eyes| take warning}} [[FieryRedhead and hair]]...
** In ''VideoGame/GoldenSunDarkDawn'' this continues: Rief and his sister Nowell are of the Mercury Clan and have blue eyes and hair, Amiti has blue eyes and hair, [[spoiler:one of many hints at his ancestry]], and [[spoiler:during the final sequences of the game, Matthew's normally blue eyes become gold eyes.]]
* Tali from ''Franchise/MassEffect'' is a rather more literal example than most, both her visor and hood being purple in color.
* The entire cast of ''DigitalDevilSaga''. Bonus points for each character being aligned with a specific elemental affinity {e.g. Heat has red hair and eyes, and his elemental affinity is, well, [[PlayingWithFire no points for guessing correctly]]).
* In ''VideoGame/{{Roommates}}'', Rakesh has dark grey hair and eyes. Anne's eyes and hair are both brown, but they're different shades, with her eyes being darker and her hair a lighter coppery tone.
* The Inklings of ''VideoGame/{{Splatoon}}'' have irises that match the color of their hair, which in turn matches the color of the paint their team must spread. Oddly enough, the eyes ''don't'' match when they're in squid form -- they instead have black irises.

[[folder:Visual Novels]]
* Most of the characters in ''VisualNovel/{{Clannad}}''.
* ''VisualNovel/HigurashiNoNakuKoroNi''
** Mion and Shion have mint-green hair and mint-green eyes.
** Also, Hanyuu has light purple hair and dark purple eyes, so it kinda works.
* ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight'' has Archer with white hair and gray eyes as a borderline example similar to Hanyuu. A more straight example is Sakura, who has lavender hair and eyes.
* Everyone in ''VisualNovel/{{Ever17}}'' has matching hair and eye colors.

[[folder:Webcomics]]
* Lorenda from ''[[DanAndMabsFurryAdventures DMFA]]'' has pink hair and eyes.
* Awesome Girl from ''[[http://www.wcihigh.com/?p=259 WCI High]]'' likes green.
* Everyone, with a few exceptions, of ''LegendOfSetar''.
* ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'' parodies the PowerpuffGirls example below in [[http://www.egscomics.com/sketchbook/?date=2004-12-22 this filler strip]].
* ''Everyone'' in ''[[Webcomic/EyepatchTan Good Luck Eyepatch-tan!]]''. [[spoiler:Negative]] may or may not count because of her blindfold.
* Hatsune Rondo from ''MayonakaDensha'' has purple hair and eyes.
* The Flavour Squad from ''SamuraiPrincess''.
* Myari (green hair and eyes) of ''Webcomic/EarsForElves'', and almost Elon as well (his hair is a darker shade than his eyes). Kanryl fits this as well, with pale grey eyes and hair.
* Momo-tan from Questionable Content (pink hair and pink eyes) [[spoiler:And when her [[http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2250 hair turns purple]], her eyes change color to match]].
* The Erlking's Daughter in ''{{Webcomic/Roommates}}'' has misty [[SupernaturalIsPurple purplish blue]] hair, eyes, clothing and make-up. [[http://asherhyder.deviantart.com/art/Roommates-Mist-and-Madness-217138534 Here]].
* An odd case in ''Webcomic/CommanderKitty'': [[http://www.commanderkitty.com/2009/04/12/nin-wah/ like the rest of the cast, Nin Wah doesn't have irises, but her eyes are tinted the same color as her hair.]] Averted later when [[http://www.commanderkitty.com/2011/08/14/one-hundred-percent/ she wakes up with blue hair,]] but eventually played straight when [[http://www.commanderkitty.com/2011/11/19/birth-of-a-spacer/ her eyes turn blue as well,]] [[spoiler: [[http://www.commanderkitty.com/2011/12/11/did-you-try-rebooting/ foreshadowing the reveal that she's an android duplicate.]]]]
* Chihiro from ''Webcomic/EveryButtonHurtsTheOtherGuy'' has matching blue hair and eyes as part of her deliberately anime-reminiscent aesthetic.

[[folder:Western Animation]]
* Seems to be a characteristic of every character in ''SeaPrincesses'', even the ones with blue eyes or pink hair.
* All fairies in ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddparents'' have the same eye colour as their hair colour. This is especially noticeable in the episode where Cosmo and Wanda end up taking each other apart with voodoo dolls, then putting themselves back together. One failed attempt had Cosmo and Wanda end up with each other's hair, creating a contrast between Cosmo's green eyes and pink hair, which belonged to Wanda, and vice versa.
* ''WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated''
** Sari -- red hair is somewhat plausible, but matching eyes?
** [[spoiler:The same as most Decepticons' eyes, for a reason. They turn blue after the upgrade.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans''.
** Raven, who has purple hair and eyes.
** Also, Beast Boy (Green hair and eyes) and Jinx (pink hair and eyes).
* The main girls in ''WesternAnimation/{{Trollz}}'', except for, technically, Ruby; her red hair is dyed. Her natural color is brown. She still has red eyes, though. [[InvokedTrope Maybe she dyed her hair to match her eyes]]?
* Henry, June, Loopy, Larry, and Loopy and Larry's dad in ''WesternAnimation/KaBlam''
* Found in the [[CareBears Adventures in Care-a-Lot]] CGI movie, "Oopsy Does It", where all the Care Bears (and [[HarmlessVillain Grizzle]]) have eyes the same color as their fur. Averted in the traditionally animated TV series, though.
* In ''WesternAnimation/CareBearsMovieIIANewGeneration'', [[BigBad Dark Heart]] has [[EvilRedhead red hair]] [[RedEyesTakeWarning and eyes]] in his human form. {{Subverted}} near the end, when his eyes turn blue because [[spoiler:his HeelFaceTurn transforms him [[BecomeARealBoy into a real human]]]].
* The ''WesternAnimation/LegionOfSuperHeroes'' cartoon loves this trope - Triplicate Girl has matching hair/eyes when she splits into three (purple, white, and orange). Shrinking Violet in the second season also counts for this trope, having both a purple stripe in her hair and purple eyes to match. The matching eye colours [[OffModel mainly didn't carry over to the comic book adaption]].
* Gil from ''WesternAnimation/BubbleGuppies''. Doubles as a YouGottaHaveBlueHair.
* [[MemeticBystander Derpy Hooves]] from ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic''.
** Spike as well, for particularly scaly definitions of "curtains".
** A few other background ponies get this treatment as well.
** Starting with season 2, several unicorns get this treatment in a different way. The auras seen when they use magic will often match their eye color.
* In ''MyLittlePonyAndFriends'', there's Buttons (who has blue hair and blue eyes, but has a red streak in her hair as well), Wind Whistler (Pink hair and eyes), Galaxy (her eyes were pink, and her hair was pink, red, and white), Gingerbread (who had blue eyes and blue, purple, and pink hair), Masquerade, Sweet Stuff (Purple eyes with purple, white, and pink hair), Fizzy (Pink eyes with pink, green, and white hair), Rosedust (Pink hair and eyes), Honeysuckles (Pink hair and eyes, though her eyes are blue for the toy), Lily (Purple hair and eyes), Baby Half Note (Turquoise hair and eyes), and Baby Sleepy Pie (Blue hair and eyes).
* Musa from ''WesternAnimation/WinxClub'' doubles as YouGottaHaveBlueHair. Icy, Brandon, and Darcy (counting her streaks of hair) also apply.
* Lance from ''WesternAnimation/SymBionicTitan'' has "black" eyes (most of the characters have black dots for pupils) and black hair.

[[folder:Real Life]]
* Some hazel eyes look fairly reddish; EmilyDickinson for example was for all intents and purposes a red-eyed redhead.
* A sort of subversion: Brown hair and brown eyes are the most common combination on the planet.
** A more straight example: Some old people with gray hair have grayish eyes (though gray eyes are usually considered a shade of blue eyes).
