GearheadShow that originally ran in syndication from 1967 to 1975, hosted by Bud Lindemann. SpeedChannel showed reruns of it in the late '90s. The original format consisted of a new-car road test followed by results of the previous week in auto racing. This was one of the few places people could see footage of more than the one race a week network TV would carry in the days before specialty cable channels.
This show contains exampples of:
* The road test cars fall into each of the above categories. The show's early years coincide with the peak of the Detroit muscle car and high points like a [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqtbaQL8K9Y 1969 Dodge Charger with 426 Hemi]], [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncJVyu-JQhE '68 Shelby Mustang]], and [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y2q1akO3lk 1969 AMX]] are examined, while the Dodge Colt wagon is notable for being ''treated'' like an AllegedCar while it was really only BoringButPractical.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Speed last aired the uncut show (and the road tests in any form) in 2002. Website/YouTube is pretty much the only place you'll find them.
* TechMarchesOn : Some of the test cars' cornering behavior when pushed to the limit and almost all their stopping distances (especially the all-drum-brakes models) are ''appalling'' by today's standards.
