Black Sitcom is a contraction of "Black Situation Comedy", a {{sitcom}} where most of the characters are of African descent (barring a TokenWhite or Latino), primarily on American, Canadian, and British TV. They can be {{Dom Com}}s, {{Kid Com}}s, or {{romantic comed|y}}ies.

Not to be confused with BlackComedy, where it's the subject matter that's dark rather than the characters' skintones (though overlap exists; the film ''Film/KingdomCome'' springs to mind).
