Written by Adam Blade ([[HousePseudonym a representation]] of [[{{Ghostwriter}} multiple authors]]), ''Beast Quest'' is the story of two 12 year olds, Tom and Elenna, as well as Storm and Silver (his horse and her wolf, respectively) fighting several Beasts, for whatever reason (usually to uncover artifacts the the BigBad has hidden, or because said Beasts are BrainwashedAndCrazy). The adventures usually take place in the fictional Avantia, but do go elsewhere at times.

The cast is quite small, and while the authors clearly do NOT read back over their books, the series can be fairly entertaining.

Spawned a spinoff, ''The Chronicles of Avantia''.

----

!! This series provides examples of:
* ActionGirl: Elenna.
* AllThereInTheManual: The "Novelty" books provide a lot of backstory for the main books, such as Storm waiting for a ChosenOne, and details of Elenna's childhood.
* BigBadEnsemble: We've had a few villains other than Malvel.
* BottomlessMagazines: Surprisingly averted! Elenna is shown making new arrows on a few occasions, and she does run out sometimes. Luckily her last shots are the only ones that actually do damage.
* BoyishShortHair: Elenna.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: The premise for Series 1 is that Avantia's beasts have become [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Brainwashed And Crazy]], due to meddling of the BigBad, Malvel.
* CatchPhrase: "While there's blood in my veins..."
** Tom actually gets called out on it several times, later on.
* ChildSoldier: Tom is knighted at the end of the first series by King Hugo.
** [[spoiler: Turns out that Hugo already had a battalion of child soldiers, including Tom's DisappearedDad]].
* ChosenOne: Tom
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Also Tom.
* ColdSniper: [[spoiler: Elenna becomes this when she's corrupted by the Arena, in "Mortaxe"]].
* DiminishingVillainThreat: Until Tom showed up, Malvel was a force that probably gave King Hugo nightmares. Then he lost to a 10 year old kid. Repeatedly.
** Malvel makes a comeback during Series 10. Among other things [[spoiler: he kills Tom's parents. [[DeathIsCheap For real this time]]]].
* DisappearedDad: Tom's father. [[spoiler: He shows up in Series 4, OnlyMostlyDead]].
* GarnishingTheStory: It would be easier to use this as opposed to a separate trope for every single creature that shows up in the books.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: A few times, but the best example would be [[spoiler: Tom's mother cutting Velmal in half with Tom's sword]].
* HandicappedBadass: Tom gets his right hand covered in venom in Series 6, crippling him until he's cured.
* ImprovisedWeapon: The prime example would be in "Carnivora", where Elenna fires [[spoiler:shards of ice at the Beast when she breathes fire, in order to have the ice shatter and impale her body]].
* ImprobableInfantSurvival: Played straight [[spoiler: until series 7, when Malvel kills Marc]].
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Tom's trademark is a shield adorned with "tokens" from the six beasts of Avantia, giving him six different blessings/abilities.
* MissingMom: Tom's mother died in childbirth. [[spoiler: She shows up in Series 5, though she isn’t revealed to be as such until “Trema”, BrainwashedAndCrazy, but gets cured by the end of Series 6, saved in Series 7 and brought back to Avantia by the end of series 8]].
* [[spoiler: ParentalAbandonment]]: [[spoiler: What really happened to Tom, as opposed to what he believes happened]].
* NoOntologicalInertia: Normally averted (by having victims just live with the damage done), but played straight with Hawkite's damage being reversed when he's restored. This includes a guy being brought back to life.
* SaveTheVillain: Tom will never let a human die (except Malvel or any other BigBad). [[spoiler:Turns out to be beneficial in "Arax"]].
* ShipperOnDeck: If the ending to Series 15 is any indication, King Hugo is this for Tom and Elenna.
* TheStarscream: [[spoiler: Petra to Malvel at the end of "Warlock's Staff"]].
* StoryArc:
** 1-4 revolve around the mystery [[spoiler:and eventual return]] of Tom's father, Taladon.
** 5-8 focus on Tom's mother, [[spoiler: Freya]].
** 9-10 are the final battle between Tom, Elenna and Malvel.
** 11-14 show the war between Avantia, [[spoiler: Gwildor and Kaymon]] against [[spoiler: Jezrin and his minions]].
** 15-17 chronicle King Hugo's wedding to Queen Aroha and it's aftermath.
** 18-19 are the final battles with [[spoiler: Jezrin]].
** 20-21 are [[spoiler: Malvel's]] return.
** 22 doesn't fit into any overarching plot, unless you count the 21st Special Bumper Edition.
** 23-24 show the loss of Tom's [[spoiler: Golden Armour and replacing it]].
