Robby The Robot is an actor whose breakout role was the 1956 film ''Film/ForbiddenPlanet'', where he played [[CharacterAsHimself himself]]. He has since appeared in many other films and television series such as ''Series/TheInvisibleBoy'', ''Series/TheThinMan'', ''Series/TheAddamsFamily'', and ''Series/TheTwilightZone1959''.

He has not appeared since the 2000s due to his alcoholism and cycles of rehab, and seems to have mostly gone into commercial work. He's in the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robot_Hall_of_Fame Robot Hall of Fame]] alongside his contemporaries Manga/AstroBoy and [[Film/TheDayTheEarthStoodStill1951 Gort]], as well as others. His design gets a pretty big ShoutOut on the Protectrons of the ''Videogame/{{Fallout}}'' game series.
