* "If Raizou were to die, I would cry." Since Kon is a Kami-sama, crying is a sign that he will turn back into a Hakushi. So he's saying he will ''die'' if Raizou were to die.
** Raizou's reaction to when he understands this is pretty heartwarming too.
* Shoui and Kotoha clearly care about each other as brothers, and they are close enough that they can have silent conversations just by looking at each other. They have also gone to great lengths to help each other. On Shoui’s end, he deliberately enhanced his kotodama powers to surpass Kotoha and save him from the fate of being head of the Mitou family. On Kotoha’s end, he gave Shoui his power to assist in awakening Asari, with the hopes that the enhanced power would bring Asari back with his memories. And it worked.
* One of Genma’s earliest (but few) redeeming qualities was his close relationship with his assistant, Chidori. Chidori has a DarkAndTroubledPast being part of a yakuza family, and even after severing ties with her family she is still a target. Genma is willing to put his own safety at risk to keep her safe, and Chidori herself admits that Genma is one of the few men she feels comfortable being around. Present-day dialogue between Genma and Himi illustrates that Genma still has a close friendship with Chidori decades later.
* When Waki mocks Himi for never regaining his memories and being "fake" Genma tells him off in a surprisingly mature manner and proclaims that he wants no one else but Himi.
* When Asari after dying rejects Rikiichi's offer to finally rest in peace and regains his memories of Shoui after revival when he shouldn't be able to all because of his love for Shoui.
* The finale: after reminiscing about the past, and reliving the deaths of Rikiichi and Magane in his mind, Waki sees a vision of Rikiichi and speaks with him. Afterwards he opens his eyes alone but sees a flower petal in his fist. It gives him the courage to ''finally'' awaken Magane, with the hope that Magane would regain his memories as Asari had. And if that wasn’t enough, when Waki brings Magane he finds Shoui and Kotoha already waiting for him with their kami-sama ready to help him. Given what both [[TheScapegoat Shoui]] and [[GildedCage Kotoha]] had been through, it is endearing to see them step up and help Waki reclaim the person he loves.
