[[folder: First Movie ]]

* King William's happiness on the day Odette was born.
* [[AwardBaitSong "Far longer than forever, I'll hold you in my heart."]]
* Derek's single minded [[{{Determinator}} determination]] to get Odette back even when everyone else has given up on her. "Everlasting love" indeed.
* It's kinda sappy but...
--> '''Odette:''' Will you love me, Derek, until the day I die?
--> '''Derek:''' No. Much longer than that, Odette. Much longer.
* When Derek finds Odette after searching for her for most of the movie. Remember, the last time they saw each other was when Odette turned down Derek (after spending most of their childhood bickering). There is no argument, no harsh words, nothing but Odette simply saying "Hello, Derek" and Derek runs to her as the music swells.
* Puffin's promise to repay Odette after she helped him.
-->'''Puffin''': I owe you, Princess, and I intend on staying until me debt is paid.
* An easily overlooked heartwarming element is Uberta and William's approach to their children's ArrangedMarriage, as [[https://theanimationcommendation.com/2014/01/27/my-thoughts-the-swan-princess-1994/ this review]] points out. Instead of just forcing them into the marriage when they come of age, they bring Derek and Odette together throughout their childhood and adolescence to cultivate friendship and eventual love between them. Then, when Odette calls off the marriage after Derek's "What else is there?" blunder, they accept her choice, even though neither is happy about it. Both are truly GoodParents who wouldn't force either their own child or the other's child into an unwanted marriage.
** Right before Rothbart attacks, William and Odette have a quiet moment and he asks her "What else did you want him to say?" It's not an angry or even upset voice. It's a truly confused voice, which implies that he knows about Odette's feelings for Derek (either because she told him beforehand or because he saw it in her) and is wondering why she'd willingly give it up.
* As Odette lies dying in front of him, Derek has to tell her that it was never just about her beauty; he had come to love her for the person that she was.
--> "I love you. Your kindness and courage. I always have and I always will."
** FridgeBrilliance - Odette called off the marriage because she wanted definite confirmation that Derek loved her just as she did him. When she disappeared, if her looks had been all he cared about, he could have moved onto the next available beauty ("Princesses on Parade" showed he has plenty to choose from). But he spends all his time not only trying to find her, but preparing to defend her from any enemies. He literally fought a giant monster if it would save her - and thus proves all along what she'd been hoping for.
** Before she dies, Derek tells her "You'll live, Odette. The vow I made was for you." She says "I know" before touching his face and saying she loves him. Even though his naivete led to her not only getting kidnapped but killed, Odette doesn't blame him for what happened.
* Odette's solo towards the end of "This Is My Idea" - where she sings "I see inside him and my doubts are gone". She looked to the person she'd seen grow up from a boy to a man, and realised that she has indeed fallen in love with him.
* Odette giving Jean Bob that kiss and then offering one to Speed too.

* Odette and Derek helping the woodcutter do his job after since his arm is injured.
* Just every single interaction between the main characters and newest one, Alise.
** Odette tries to get Alise to talk through song, singing that she wants to hear from her.
** After finding out that Alise has no other relatives, Derek excitedly exclaims that, "I'm going to be a Mom".
** Queen Ubertha buying every little thing that she thinks Alise will like, even a pony.
** Odette comforting Alise after she has a nightmare.
** Alise addressing Odette as "mommy" immediately after the climax and the following hug. It happens again, this time with Derek, in the epilogue.

* Derek and Odette continue to be RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething by helping some commoners build a bridge. This cuts their travel time from "all day" to "five minutes".
* How does the Scullion army find the unity to properly row their boat? They chant, "For! Alise! For! Alise!"
* Scully literally has UndyingLoyalty for Alise and Odette. He's become their SpiritAdvisor.
** The first thing Alise does when she sees Scully's ghostly form is hug him (or try to, anyway). Then she thanks him for saving her in the previous movie.
* Lucas revealing himself to the Boggs in order to help Alise escape the island is a big friendship thing but what makes it truly heartwarming is that he's basically exiling himself. He can't live on the island if they know he's there because they would hunt him down.
* Alise chasing Lucas down, flushing him out of hiding and ultimately [[ToughLove tripping and tackling him]] in order to make sure he isn't sad and alone anymore.
* Thanks to Alise and Scully, Lucas overhears his parents talking about their real reason for wanting to send him to an orphanage and, incidentally, gushing about what a great son he is.
