* Even though Fate and Max cheat and sabotage Leslie's efforts to win the race. When it comes down to lives being on the line, they are actually [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold good people]] at their core (not that they'd ever admit it).
** When both teams end up caught in a blizzard and later on an ice floe, they willingly combine resources and work together to survive.
*** Speaking of which, there's a tiny moment where we see Maggie using the Hannibal Twin 8's ice-melter, which also doubles as an electric stove, and we see Leslie appreciably warm his hands. Even though there are no scenes, both teams must've gotten to know each other during their time together and it's clear that Leslie appreciates--and is impressed by--at least one of the 8's design features.
** After he is captured by the Baron and forced to impersonate the Prince, Fate flat-out refuses to help the Baron. Only when his life is threatened does he (understandably) go along with it.
** Another thing. Once Max is free, instead of going to Professor Fate (who is also out of the castle) he instead goes straight to Leslie for help and they work together to get Maggie and Hezekiah freed. Also, once Max had recovered the Hannibal Twin 8. He could've just left the three behind, gone back to the Palace and gotten Fate out of there, but instead stays to help free the others.
* Leslie stopping his car right before the finish line. This not only helps prove his love to Maggie, it also shows that he's learned a lot since the movie started.
--> '''Maggie''': What are you doing?
--> '''Leslie''': Proving that I love you.
--> '''Maggie''': But you'll lose the race!
--> '''Leslie''': Can you think of a better way to prove it?
* Max catching the wedding bouquet that Maggie threw, looking genuinely happy for the recently married couple. During that scene, from the look on the Professor's face, he's trying very hard not to show that even ''he'' is happy for them too.
