[[folder: General]]
* Despite this being a show about a lazy, gluttonous, self centered cat who routinely eats, sleeps and causes mischief to those around him, this show does have it's share of tender, heartwarming moments, even from Garfield himself.
** Garfield's friendship with Squeak the mouse. Sure, Garfield doesn't eat him or his family due to not liking the taste of mice or the effort it takes to catch them, but it's obvious that Squeak is one of the few beings on the show that Garfield treats like a regular friend and not a nuisance or servant like Odie and Jon.
** Despite her infrequent appearances, the one thing Garfield loves after eating, sleeping and himself is his girlfriend Arlene.
** Liz and Jon's relationship is this in hindsight if you remember how unlucky in love Jon was in the comics. Since 2006 and onwards, they have been in a steady relationship.
** Garfield's love for his teddy bear Pookie is also pretty adorable.

* "Mother Garfield"
** Garfield goes out of his way to take care of some blue bird eggs after he believes that the mother has abandoned them and when they hatch, does everything he can to protect them from hungry stray cat Harry until the mother returns for her babies. It reaches it's peak when the baby birds all call Garfield "Mama"...Awwww......
* "Bone Diggers"
** After Garfield refuses to give Odie a rib bone, the dog tries to dig one up and finds dinosaur bones, which Garfield tries to sell to a museum for the money, only for them to decide that they will just take the Arbuckle's property and tear it down to dig for more bones. Realizing what went wrong, Garfield apologizing to Odie for not simply giving him the bone he asked for it and admitting that it was his fault that the museum now wants to tear down their house to dig up dinosaur bones for science.
* "Desperately Seeking Pooky"
** When Garfield finds out that the reason Hercules took Pooky was because he felt lonely over his intimidating nature preventing him from making friends, Garfield feels bad for Hercules and gives him the replacement teddy bears Jon bought for Garfield so that he doesn't have to deprive Hercules of company by taking Pooky back.
* "High Scale"
** Odie helping Garfield exercise after the latter decides to take his diet seriously.
* "John's Night Out"
** Garfield going out of his way to save Jon after the hypnosis he used to cure his insomnia goes wrong. This is one of the few times Garfield shows that he sincerely cares about his owner.
* "Turkey Trouble"
** Despite having wanted to have a roasted turkey for Thanksgiving dinner, when Jon receives a live bird from a raffle, he is unable to end it's life and even Garfield admits that he is also unwilling to do so.
** Despite having been a pest all day, Garfield and Jon both have second thoughts about returning the turkey when the guy they got it from says that he will have to kill it. They then have the turkey for dinner as a GUEST and with the help of Liz, find it a new home at a petting zoo.
* "Down On The Farm"
** Jon consoling his brother and simply calling him by his name, rather than by his hated nickname "Doc Boy" is this, so much that Doc was sincerely touched to hear his brother simply call him by his name.
* "Underwater World"
** Odie releases a fish that Jon caught after feeling sorry for it. The fish later returns the favor when Odie ends up at the bottom of the sea.
** Despite how annoyed he is by Odie a lot, Garfield dives into the water to save him after he believes that he fell overboard. It shows that despite how volatile their relationship is, he does care about Odie deep down.
* "From The Oven"
** Garfield giving Odie a cupcake at the end of the episode after defeating the giant cake monster is this, especially given how gluttonous and stingy Garfield is with food most of the time.
* "History Of Dog"
** After Odie and his canine friends save Vito's restaurant from a fire, the chef is so grateful that he promises them free pizza for life, much to Garfield's shock.
** After spending most of the episode talking about the history of dogs in a negative light, Garfield, after having witness the rescue, concludes the story of dogs in a much more positive light.
* "Iceman"
** Garfield helping Olga escape with her caveman boyfriend after spending most of the episode tormenting her.
** What leads into the above all happening? Garfield going back to Olga to get Odie a treat.

[[folder: Season 2]]
* The ending of "Inside Eddie Gourmand", where Eddie reconciles with his mother after Garfield arranges for the two to see each other again and she explains that she only denied her son fattening foods out of concern for his health.
* "The Bluebird of Happiness":
** Garfield is overjoyed when the bluebird calls him "Mama", as it proves the bluebird was one of the baby bluebirds he looked after back in "Mother Garfield".
** Nermal actually shows remorse when Odie reveals to him that he let Harry capture the bluebird so he could eat it, even trying to help Odie rescue the bluebird and remarking that he wouldn't blame Garfield if he got angry at him for endangering the bluebird.

* Despite the way she treats him, [[UndyingLoyalty Voldo still decides to save]] Bella Bellissima at the climax of "Little Trouble in Big China". Furthermore, [[SaveTheVillain it takes Jon mere seconds to go back and help Voldo escape in]] spite of his loyalty to Bella.
* "Cupid Cat" has Garfield order pizza and seems to eat the entire pizza until he pulls a piece and feeds it to Odie. Given how gluttonous Garfield can be, it’s rather sweet.
** After the above, Jon tried to convince Doc that Gloria’s interested in him and tells his brother that life should be shared with others. Doc blows it off (At first anyways.) but it’s still nice to see Jon who has a girlfriend himself try to help his brother.

[[folder: Season 4]]
* In "Lion Queen", upon learning that the animals in Spendington's zoo are barely fed, Garfield decides to give away his sandwiches to all of them -- especially impressive given his usual stinginess regarding food, as he lampshades.
* "Six-Can Solution" eventually reveals that the reasons the cans of cat food were disappearing was because Odie had taken the cans to help a neighbor girl feed a cat and her kittens she had found. The girl laments that she can't keep them because her mother is allergic to cats, but Jon's financial planner decides to adopt them and informs the girl that she is welcome to visit his new pets when she likes.
* "Delicious Donut Day" is this twofold. At the end of the episode, Jon Arbuckle is delighted to see that everyone he knows arranged to deliver him boxes of Darcie's Donuts on his birthday (including his cantankerous Aunt Ivy and antagonist Dirk Dinkum). Later, Garfield sees Herman Post, who happens to have the same birthday as Jon, sitting miserably on the sidewalk, but cheers him up by giving him a donut.
