* Though Redridge is TheDragon to Carnegie, he has a soft spot for Solara and sees Eli as a WorthyOpponent. Despite Solara indirectly causing Redridge to be impaled by Eli's blade, and him having the perfect opportunity to kill her (he grabbed her arm and pulled the blade out of his chest), he instead stepped outside of the car and [[FaceDeathWithDignity kneeled down, accepting his impending death]].
* One of the last shots of the film shows the newly reconstructed Bible placed on a shelf alongside the Torah and Quran, as well as significant works of science. The filmmakers could've made it an {{anvilicious}} story about Christianity being the greatest good, as well as surrendering to the contemporary Western fear of Muslims, but instead they show that the Bible is merely one important work of many.
* The woman the highjackers use for decoy doesn't seem pleased in seeing how Solara was just a kid basically and tried to have her escape while she can. Too bad it doesn't work.
* Eli's last prayer to God:
--> Eli: Dear Lord, thank you for giving me the strength and the conviction to complete the task you entrusted to me. Thank you for guiding me straight and true through the many obstacles in my path. And for keeping me resolute when all around seemed lost. Thank you for your protection and your many signs along the way. Thank you for any good that I may have done, I'm so sorry about the bad. Thank you for the friend I made. Please watch over her as you watched over me. Thank you for finally allowing me to rest. I'm so very tired, but I go now to my rest at peace. Knowing that I have done right with my time on this earth. I fought the good fight, I finished the race, I kept the faith.
