* While ''The Final Frontier'' may be fairly ghastly, there are one or two genuinely good bits. Including this moment near the end where [[BigDamnHeroes Spock]] [[BigDamnGunship rescues]] Kirk from fake God:
-->'''Kirk''': I thought I was going to die.\\
'''Spock''': Not possible. [[TrueCompanions You were never alone.]]
** It's all in Creator/LeonardNimoy's "Oh, ''please'', as if you could ever think otherwise?" delivery.
** Of course, it's undermined a bit by the ending of ''Film/{{Star Trek Generations}}''...
*** Was it? He WAS alone. Spock off on Romulus, [=McCoy=] who knows where (if he hadn't died by that point), and neither even knew Kirk was still alive in any event.
*** Technically he had Picard (a fellow ''Enterprise'' captain no less) [[TearJerker by his side when he finally went...]]
** It's made even better when Kirk, touched beyond words, reaches out to hug Spock, for one of the only times in the filmography. Spock rebuffing him with "not in front of the Klingons" made it a SugarWiki/{{Funny Moment|s}}.
* This exchange:
-->'''Spock''': I have lost a brother.\\
'''Kirk''': I lost a brother once. I was lucky enough to get him back.\\
'''[=McCoy=]''': I thought men like us didn't have families.\\
'''Kirk''': ''I was wrong.''
** Although this is made a little less heartwarming when you remember than [[Recap/StarTrekS1E29OperationAnnihilate Kirk actually DID lose a brother]] on the original show who goes ominously unmentioned.
* General Korrd deserves a mention once he dresses down Commander Klaa, he seems to have gotten his 'mojo' back.
** Spock's pep talk beforehand could be this or a CMOA: "Damn you sir, you will try.", depending on if you focus on Spock trying to save Kirk or Spock just talking like a badass to a Klingon general.
* Watching the growing bond between Talbot and Caithlin Dar. You only see them in the background most of the time but, they are awfully cute together.
** Of course the mutual bonding between three seemingly ''incompatible'' groups like the Federation, Klingons and Romulans is something Gene Roddenberry always said was unavoidable.
* The film focuses on the relationship of the PowerTrio, and this plays centrally into the climax of the film: When Kirk questions "God" on his need for a starship, he is stricken down by an energy bolt for his trouble. [=McCoy=], who had just been trying to warn Kirk away from this course of action, runs to his side while Spock steps up and insists that "God" answer the question. When Spock is attacked in turn, the following exchange happens:
-->'''"God"''': [[ImpliedDeathThreat Do you doubt me?]]\\
'''[=McCoy=]''': [[ShutUpHannibal I doubt any god who... inflicts pain... for his own pleasure!]]
** What makes it is the doctor's delivery: He's clearly terrified, but the wanton harm inflicted [[TrueCompanions upon his friends]] clearly has him pissed enough to reject his previous belief that he'd met the Almighty.
