* At the start of the film, Dick and Marge have had a successful marriage of 20 years and two kids, one of whom has a loving boyfriend, and while they tease each other it's all good-natured and a picture of suburban bliss.
* His creepy nature aside, Tod truly loves Marge (or so he thinks) and has every intention to shower her with love in a life of luxury. He even goes as far as describing her as having “the heart of angel”. And he’s actually not wrong, given that Marge is very kind and sociable.
** When Dick and the warriors invade the wedding ceremony, the statue they were hiding in breaks and the giant head comes rolling straight towards Marge and Tod. What is Tod’s gut reaction? Pulling Marge out of its path. Although he’s still dead-wrong for trying to force her into marriage, [[EvenEvilHasStandards he wasn’t going to leave her in harm’s way to save his own ass]].
* During the Mind-Milking scene, after several funny scenes of what's going through Dick's mind, he starts to dwell on Marge, and before long every thought he has is of his wife and hoping she's okay.
** The royal advisor tasked with executing Dick breaks down and sets him free, telling him his love for Marge is eternal and he knows what it's like because he lost his own love a long time ago. It becomes even more heartwarming when he's reunited with his love, Semage, in the ending.
* Marge recognizes her guard from a fish-lady's family photo she'd seen earlier, and offers marriage counseling to help him get back together with his wife.
* Any time Dick is overwhelmed and on the verge of giving up, his [[ThePowerOfLove love for Marge]] sees him through and helps him to keep going.
* A [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CH3GXuUBz-A deleted scene]] from the American video release has the rebel Semage professing her love for Dick. While he does kiss her, Dick remains faithful to Marge and reflects on their marriage fondly, saying his wife is something special for putting up with him. Semage understands because she lost her own love long ago, and later reunites with him during the battle scene.
* The end of the credits has a dedication to Thalmus Rasulala, General Afir's actor, who died after completing his scenes but before the movie was released.
