* Wade making Zoe's gumbo in the third episode, even sweeter was the fact he took no credit for it.
* Wade's father, Crazy Earl, is the town drunk, always sponging money off his son. Wade tries to get Earl to sell a bit of land he owns, though Earl had meant to leave it to his sons, so he'll stop hitting Wade up for money. Turns out Earl doesn't need the money -- he just wants to know his son still loves him. When Wade understands, he relents. And ''then'' it turns out Earl hasn't been spending the money; he's been burying it on his land, a nest egg for his sons to find when he's gone.
