* Rule #2 of the "Code of the Elves": "[[RousseauWasRight There's room for everyone on the 'Nice' list]]."
* Buddy is clearly very different from the rest of the elves, struggles to fit in, and isn't as good a toy maker as his peers, but the rest of Santa's helpers seem to accept him and try to help him when he's feeling down. Papa Elf's narration makes it clear that everyone in the North Pole has always accepted Buddy and treated him like a friend, and we're shown that, despite occasionally causing them some frustration, they never take their anger for it out on him, instead trying to find ''somewhere'' for him to belong.
* "Buddy, you're more of an elf than anyone I've ever met." Coming from Santa, that's high praise indeed, and Creator/EdwardAsner's warm delivery completely sells it.
** Just how ''thrilled'' Santa is to run into Buddy. As soon as he realizes that he isn't being accosted by a mugger or a random passerby, Santa sincerely warmly greets him like the close friend Buddy is.
* Buddy's North Pole friends wishing him good-bye.
* Walter apologizing to Buddy after his IHaveNoSon outburst at his office.
* Emily being immediately (if [[AngstWhatAngst a bit unrealistically]]) accepting of Buddy being her husband's illegitimate child. She may agree with everyone else that Buddy is just insane, but clearly believes it's better to give him the compassion that she believes he's been denied than just treat him like a pariah.
* When Jovie starts to sing "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town", to have everyone join in to generate the necessary Christmas Spirit/Belief in Santa Claus which powers Santa's sleigh's ability to fly. Other people watching the news report join in on the singing, such as the Empire State Building's security guards and mail room employees, Walter's co-workers and the Gimbels staff.
* Buddy meets a young girl named Carolyn in the doctor's office and asks what she wants for Christmas. She responds "a Susie-Talks-A-Lot." And later, as Michael shows Santa's Christmas list on TV, he mentions Carolyn ''and'' that exact gift.
-->'''Carolyn (watching TV):''' Thanks, Buddy.
* Buddy and Jovie's date, with Buddy at his most {{adorkable}} and Jovie slowly [[DefrostingTheIceQueen defrosting]] as she has more and more fun with him.
** The two of them skipping through midtown Manhattan, stopping every few feet to admire the Christmas trees on display. Then Jovie decides to show Buddy ''the'' Christmas tree: the one on display at Rockefeller Center. Buddy can only let out an awestruck "Wow."
** Then, when they go ice skating at the Center's rink, Buddy steals a kiss from Jovie on the cheek, earning him a bemused smile.
--->'''Buddy:''' ''(embarrassed)'' Sorry.\\
'''Jovie:''' ''(smiles)'' You missed!\\
'''Buddy:''' ''(confused)'' What do you mean I missed...?\\
'''Jovie:''' You missed...\\
''(Jovie pulls him in to kiss him, this time on the lips. Buddy smiles and the two share a BigDamnKiss, followed by an IrisOut.)''
** After his date, Buddy, walking on air, runs into Walter's office, then throws his hat off and declares "I'm in love, I'm in love and I don't care who knows it!" like he's in a classic romantic movie.
* Michael, who'd previously wanted nothing to do with Buddy, bonding with him after Buddy helps him win a snowball fight, playfully running through Gimbels with him and causing harmless mischief. He even introduces himself to Jovie as Buddy's brother.
** Upon learning that Buddy was working for the real Santa Claus, who actually brought Michael a Huffboard that he wanted, this inspired Michael to take action by taking Santa's book and read it on live television in order to raise the Christmas spirits among several citizens (mostly the children). At first, it was a success, but things went south when Michael ends up revealing the Christmas gift that the TV reporter Charlotte Dennin wanted, which ends up embarrassing her and ordering her crew to cut off the live feed and leave in a huff.
* Buddy telling Walter's secretary Deb that she should be on a Christmas card because she's so pretty. Deb is flattered and tells Buddy he just made her day.
* Walter finally singing along to "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," which powers the sleigh, complete with the amazing shot of Santa's sleigh flying over his head and off into the night.
* Buddy reading his book to a group of children at Gimbels. To add, it's because he and the Gimbels manager are on good enough terms to get a restraining order lifted.
* Buddy names his daughter after his deceased biological mother.
* Papa Elf's unconditional love for Buddy never wavers, nor does Buddy's love for him. It shows at the end that even though he's accepted by Walter, Emily, and Michael as a beloved family member and Walter's son, he and Jovie (and their daughter) decide to stay at the North Pole with Papa Elf. Papa Elf was the one who raised Buddy and it's with him that he always has a home which is a heartwarming message to anyone who has been HappilyAdopted.
