* Sheldon's humble start, performing at the methadone clinic, would be heartwarming on its own. During his song, he pauses to mention one of the men in the crowd by name, and mentions that one of the lines was written about his plight in particular. He ''knows'' those people as people. They aren't just a crowd of junkies to him.
* Smoochy's tribute to Spinner during the ice show and giving him and the Moochy character a proper kindhearted sendoff. You can tell Smoochy really did care dearly for Spinner.
** Sheldon letting Spinner have a part in Smoochy in the first place. It might have been primarily because of Tommy leaning on Sheldon, but Spinner clearly has a ball taking part in it.
* The fact that Sheldon just wants to create a fun, enjoyable show for the kids is heartwarming all on its own. Normally in these type of movies (and hell, in this movie alone), characters like Sheldon are usually shown to be secretly psychotic or downright lying. But no, Sheldon really is as nice as he seems.
* Sheldon never truly giving up on his dream to make Smoochy a lovable kids icon. Out of all the characters in the movie, he's the one who gets crapped on the worst and yet he's always trying his best and following his ethics.
* The moment when Randolph breaks down crying in Sheldon's apartment and asks him if he could just be his friend, which Sheldon agrees to without hesitation, [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe leading Randolph to repay the favor]] and risk getting caught by the police to stop Buggy from taking Sheldon's life almost at the cost of his own. [[EarnYourHappyEnding His triumphant return as Rainbow Randolph was more than earned]]. You get the feeling he's going to do something worthwhile with his second chance, and the closing finale with Smoochy and Rainbow Randolph hosting the ice show together just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. A happy ending for a broken, misguided, angry soul.
** There is a possibility that, by teaming up with Smoochy after getting his job back, Randolph, under Sheldon's tutelage, would be BecomingTheMask [[TookALevelInKindness to be a better and sincere role model for kids]] unlike before when he was a BitchInSheepsClothing DepravedKidsShowHost at the beginning of the film.
* While Randolph goes to save Smoochy, he gets distracted by fans wanting autographs. He still has FANS. Also, despite being a {{Slimeball}} NiceCharacterMeanActor, he is [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold genuinely]] a FriendToAllChildren when he [[PetTheDog could not say no to his kid fans wanting autographs and pictures with him]].
** This aspect is hinted at earlier when Randolph is about to [[ManOnFire set himself ablaze]], and a little girl that he later describes as an angel comes out of the crowd to blow out the match and reassure him. Granted, [[YankTheDogsChain she's quickly distracted by Smoochy coming out to the street]], but still.
* ''[[TheIrishMob Tommy Cotter]]'' being the one to stop Sheldon from killing Burke Bennett, by pleading that he not betray his ethics for a worm like Bennett. Not for what she prevented since she orchestrates his death anyway, but for the fact that she genuinely didn't want Sheldon going down the dark path, and neither would Spinner.
* Sheldon’s genuine OddFriendship with [[TheIrishMob Tommy]] and [[KindheartedSimpleton Spinner]].
** After Randolph ruins Smoochy's reputation by tricking him into appearing at the Nazi rally, when Nora figures it out, she goes to Tommy immediately. Without hesitation or wish for reward, the Irish mob goes to Randolph and intimidate/strongarm him into confessing to the crime, exonerating Mopes and making Randolph "the most hated man in America".
