* When King Brian is forced to tell Darby that, no matter how hard he wishes. Not even he has the power to [[spoiler:drive away the Death Coach that is coming for Katie's soul]], Darby unhesitatingly uses his third wish to [[spoiler:make the Coach [[TakeMeInstead take him instead]]]]. No greater love exists than the love a parent has for their child.
* When King Brian tricks Darby one last time [[spoiler: into making a fourth wish which negates the previous three wishes, and manages to save Darby's daughter.]]
** ...and Darby himself.
* Michael sings "My Pretty Irish Girl" as Katie spies him working in the field, although he's just singing a work song, it's not about any girl in particular. At the end, he sings it while looking lovingly into her eyes. Yes, this time it IS about her, and only her.
* Darby losing his first three wishes after the first time he captures King Brian is made more bittersweet by how the fourth wish he is tricked into making is for most of his friends to get their own pots of gold.
