* While running in full gear, an exhausted Chuck trips and nearly falls flat on his face, only for Talbert to catch him.
** This is followed by Winters encouraging all of them-by name, no less-and Guarnere telling the men that they can do it.
* After Sobel orders Smokey to run up Currahee as a punishment, Talbert, Shifty, and More decide to run up with him.
** Keep in mind that he was a good distance up the mountain by this point, meaning Tab and co. really had to leg it to catch up with him--and in full gear under the afternoon heat at that!
* Winters helping every single man in his stick to stand up as they prepare to leave for Normandy.
** He saves Doc Roe for last, and just before the Doc can walk away, Winters gives his hand a tight squeeze, knowing fully well that as soon as they land, Roe's job will begin, and this could probably be his last chance at offering support.

* On the plane, Penkala can be seen fiddling nervously with his pack. When he sees Winters looking at him, he gives the lieutenant a shaky nod. AFatherToHisMen Winters, though visibly anxious, gives the boy a reassuring smile in return.
* Buck earnestly telling Dick how good it is to see him. Dick responds in kind, and the two shake hands.
* Malarkey taking the time to have a friendly chat with a Kraut soldier from Oregon, his home state.
* During the beginning of the Brecourt Manor Assault, Popeye gets shot in the ass. His first reaction? Apologizing to everyone for getting hit and not being able to fight anymore. As the real Major Winters wrote in his memoir years later:
--> My God, it's beautiful when you think of a guy who was so dedicated to his company that he apologized for getting hit. Now here was a soldier - hit by enemy fire in Normandy on D-Day, behind the German lines, and he is more upset that he had let his buddies down than he was concerned with his own injury. Popeye's actions spoke for all of us.
** Despite knowing that Winters needs him for the TNT he was carrying, Lipton still takes the time to clean out Popeye's wound as best as he can and reassure him that he's going to be alright.
* Toye's first instinct when a grenade explodes behind him is not to run, but to throw himself over a wounded Popeye, who obviously cannot protect himself.
* After Winters busts Guarnere's chops with "I'm not a Quaker," Guarnere joins in the laughter and comments with knowledge of Winters that is only really hinted at: "He's from Lancaster County, must be a Mennonite!"
* Nix opening Dick's food for him when he sees that the latter is too shaken up from the day's battle to do it himself.

* Harry Welsh lugging his reserve chute around because he wants to send it home for Kitty, to be made into a wedding dress. And yes--he did send it home and he got to marry her as well.
* When Tipper is gravely wounded by a mortar in Carentan, Liebgott gently cradles and reassures him until he can be evacuated. Prior to this, he was also searching and calling out for Tip in an increasingly worried tone.
** Lieb is also the first to arrive on the scene when Tab gets injured by a nervous Smith. The man may have been downright vicious on the battlefield, but let it not be said that he didn't care for his friends.
* Winters, despite being injured himself, takes the time to reassure Blithe that panicking and not being able to help out much is a perfectly normal reaction in the midst of such a hellish landscape. This helps Blithe to get over his hysterical blindness, and later on, gain confidence in his abilities.
-->Winters: I'm gonna get you home, son.
* When Guarnere and newly arrived replacement Babe Heffron discover they grew up in the same area of Philadelphia and begin to bond.
* Smokey giving Tab one of his Purple HeartsSince his stab wound wasn't inflicted by the enemy, he couldn't qualify for one.
* Harry repeatedly asking about the state of Dick's injured leg throughout the episode.
* While the advice given is appropriately morbid, Speirs (in spite of his already fearsome reputation) doesn't get mad at Blithe for his crippling fear but calmly attempts to advise him on how to utilize it to make himself more effective.

* At the beginning of the episode, Guarnere and Martin are making fun of Bull's Southern roots, while the man himself simply takes it in stride. However, when the replacements in Bull's platoon laugh, Martin immediately growls out "What are you laughing at?" before trading a small smile with Bull.
** Guarnere then orders the recruits to listen to everything Bull says, calling him the "smartest man in the company."
* Toye and Heffron are playing darts with Compton and Luz. When Compton seemingly misses all of his shots, Luz can be heard saying "Tough break. You're having a tough night. People have tough nights" to the man, although it was probably part of their strategy to make Babe and Toye lower their guard.
** When George miraculously reminds Compton that he is right-handed, Compton has this to say:
-->Compton: [beaming widely] Ah, George. What would I do without George Luz?
* When Jerkass Cobb starts picking on Miller for wearing a citation pin despite not having jumped with them in Normandy, both Hoobler and Bull come to his defense, albeit at separate times.
* Lip fussing over Popeye when he returns after having gone AWOL from the hospital.
-->Lip: Can you make the jump?
-->Popeye: [visibly limping] Sure I can, Lip! I just can't sit.
** When Popeye jokes that Sobel might just court-martial him for escaping, Lip laughs and cups the back of Popeye's head affectionately.
* When they land in Holland, Hashey gets stuck, as his connectors get tangled after landing. Bull patiently (yet quickly) helps him out, and dismisses the rookie mistake:
--> Hashey: I'm sorry, Sarge...
--> Bull: Don't be sorry; grab your rifle, let's go.
* Perconte and Guarnere interacting sweetly with a bunch of Dutch kids as they pose for photographs.
** When a little boy runs towards Hoobler, he happily catches the kid and carries him around for a bit.
* As the soldiers are paraded through the town, watch for an elderly man sitting in the foreground waving a small Dutch flag. That is the real Babe Heffron making a cameo in the series.
* When he meets a Dutch man and his son, Webster gives the son a bar of chocolate. His father says that he'd never tasted it before. It's a very sweet scene (pun intended), and the moment that you see Webster realizing just why it's so important that they win this war.
* A borderline TearJerker has the soldiers coming by a woman and her baby on the side of the road. She has her head shaved, which means she was one of the women punished for sleeping with the Germans. Without a word, the soldiers stop and give her provisions.
* When Buck gets injured and insists that they leave him behind because they can't carry him due to the size disparity, Malarkey absolutely refuses and looks for a way to carry him off instead. The next scene then cuts to Skip, Bill, and Malark literally dragging Buck behind them to safety.
* After Bull gets separated, a squad consisting of Hoobler, Webster, Cobb, and newbies Hashey and Garcia goes off in the middle of the night behind enemy lines to find him.
* Bull's subsequent reunion with his platoon. When Guarnere tells him about the squad who went off to find him, Bull simply grins at his boys and says "Never did like this company none" in an extremely fond tone.
** Martin and Guarnere's relieved faces when they see Bull, slightly injured but alive.
-->Guarnere: I don't know whether to slap you, kiss you, or salute you!

* The flashback scene where Sgt. Alley gets hurt, and Lipton goes into TeamMom mode and immediately starts soothing him and calming him down.
* After Moose takes over command of Easy, Winters can't stop himself from staying up worrying about the men on their first mission since D-Day without him fighting alongside them.
** The series doesn't state it outright, but the reason that Winters and Moose were at the checkpoint when Moose got shot was because Winters wanted to check on his old unit and talked Moose into going out to 'inspect' the sentries. The man had a deep, lifelong attachment to his men.
* When the men throw a party to celebrate the successful outcome of Operation Pegasus, Winters is shown smiling proudly at the noise from his window.

* Practically everything Eugene does in-episode, such as procuring boots for Toye after finding out that his original pair got destroyed; offering Babe chocolate to cheer him up; and reassuring Lt. Dike that he'll be there, should the latter get hit. Basically, "Bastogne" is an hour-long testament to how caring and empathetic the doc was as a person.
** It's a bit blink-and-you'll miss it, but during the scene where Roe is escorting a wounded Welsh into town, a nearby building explodes and sends shrapnel flying in all directions. With no regard whatsoever for his personal safety, Roe immediately jumps up to shield Welsh with his own body, only straightening when they reach the makeshift aid station.
*** The best part? According to Rick Warden, who plays Welsh, this bit wasn't in the script. Shane Taylor really was just that caring towards everyone, much like his character.
* A few of Babe and Doc Roe's interactions in-episode count, but what comes to mind especially is when Babe is consumed with guilt over leaving his friend to die and Roe tries to comfort him with chocolate.
** Just the fact that Spina and Roe--who were explicitly ordered never to share a foxhole, just in case the worst happened--disobey said orders, all so they could comfort their young friend.
** The following morning, Roe even takes the time to tuck Babe in more securely with his blankets before leaving to do his daily rounds.
** Early on in the episode, Roe hears a passing Babe coughing and immediately jumps up to check on him.
** Babe constantly checking on Roe and offering him food when he sees the medic isolating himself from the company.
** At the end, Roe jumps into Babe's foxhole, almost immediately begins fussing over Babe's hand injury, and looks in his bag for a bandage. All he has is the cloth his friend the Belgian nurse wore, and it is all he was able to recover from her after the church they were using as a makeshift medical center collapsed on top of everyone inside during a bombing raid. After almost putting it away again, he abruptly tears it up and begins mending Babe's wound (with the implication being that, as Renée was a nurse, he realizes that she would rather the cloth be used to treat a wounded man than kept as a functionally-useless keepsake). Babe then notes that Roe has called him 'Babe' for the first time, and cheerfully teases Roe about his accent.
-->Doc Roe: [trying not to smile] Heffron, watch the goddamn line.
* Skinny declining a morphine dosage despite his leg wounds because he knows how low Roe is on supplies and would rather it be used on someone who would need it more.
* NiceGuy Smokey managing to scrounge up some morphine for Doc Roe, who is absolutely delighted when he receives the much-needed supplies. He also gives Roe some coffee, tells him where he could get some scissors, and is even aware of the fact that Joe Toye is down with trench foot.

* Skip happily showing a replacement around and introducing him to each and every member of the company, via what wounds they'd gotten thus far.
* Malarkey is obviously depressed after Muck and Penkala get killed. Lipton talks to him and tells him that Major Winters is offering Malarkey the chance to be his runner for a few days and get away from the fighting. Malarkey declines and chooses to fight because he knows he's one of the only [=NCOs=] left.
* Malarkey reading Buck's mail out loud to him when the latter practically goes catatonic after seeing Bill and Toye with their legs blown off. Even when Buck signals for him to stop reading, Malarkey gently tucks the letters into Buck's pocket and can be seen sitting quietly with his best friend off-screen.
* Speirs informing Lipton that all of Easy Company has considered him their real leader for some time now, as he was just naturally doing everything a good leader should, even without thinking about it.
** There's also the fact that Lipton was at a complete loss to understand who or what Speirs was talking about until it was explained to him, point by point. Lipton wasn't concerned about accolades, fame, or reward; all he cared about was his men, and keeping them not only alive, but taken care of.
** Speirs' smile when he tells Lip all of this clearly shows how admirable he finds the man, and serves as the start of a friendship between the two.
-->Speirs: You have no idea who I'm talking about, do you?
-->[Lip shakes his head]
-->Speirs: [grinning softly] Hell, it was you, first sergeant.

* Luz taking care of Lip while the latter is down with pneumonia and giving him a big nod of appreciation when Lip finally gets his promotion.
** Speirs being absurdly protective of Lipton in his own gruff way. He also insisted that Lipton sleep in the available bed because of his sickness, when protocol would dictate that the ranking officer has that privilege.
* All of the men being quite happy to see Perconte out of the hospital, slightly limping but otherwise alive.
* Although their friendship is cut short when Jones is reassigned, he and Webster are shown getting along pretty well throughout the episode, thanks to their CommonalityConnection of being outcasts.
* When one of the patrol boats tip over and Skinny panics, due to not knowing how to swim, Garcia and Cobb immediately help him to the shore.
* The men, especially Babe, Ramirez, and Webster, immediately shifting into big brother mode when Jackson is injured, comforting him and reassuring the young private that he isn't going to die. Which just makes it all the more heartbreaking when he does.
* After Jackson dies and Vest is inconsolable, Jones takes the time to comfort the man by stroking his hair.
* The last scene where Webster, who has been treated as a pariah throughout the episode because he wasn't present at Bastogne, is about to climb onto the truck and Liebgott offers his hand and lifts him up, even patting him affectionately on the butt when Web stumbles, showing that he has been accepted into Easy once more.

* The boys happily singing "Blood Upon the Risers" on the ride to their next location.
* Web and Liebgott bonding on the trucks by talking about what they'll do after the war.
** When Lieb teases him good-naturedly about not having finished school yet, Webster gets a little testy but immediately regrets it. However, when he tries to apologize, Liebgott brushes it off and asks about what he was studying instead, genuinely interested in Webster's life.
** Webster, for his part, clearly recognises that Liebgott is making an effort after this point and decides to SureLetsGoWithThat when, on learning that Webster is studying literature, he enthusiastically talks about how he also loves reading, being a massive fan of ComicStrip/DickTracy and ComicStrip/FlashGordon.
** Liebgott talking about starting a family with a "nice, Jewish girl" with a big, cheesy grin on his face. You can really tell that this is the first time he's allowed himself to think of a life after the war, and him sharing it with Webster, who he didn't even seem to like at all last episode, just makes the moment even sweeter.
* A minor one, but when the soldiers are forcing a German family out of their home for the night, Bull takes the time to return a little girl's teddy bear.
* While it straddles the line between this and TearJerker, when the soldiers find the concentration camp, one prisoner comes up to Janovec and starts hugging him with relief. The man then bursts into tears while this is happening. Rather than freak out or push this complete stranger off, Janovec just starts comforting the man, rubbing his back and telling him that everything will be okay now.
* When O'Keefe is sitting on the ground, lost in the horror of the concentration camp, Perconte (who had given him a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech earlier on) comes and checks on him, asking if he's ok.
** It's also the first time Perconte uses O'Keefe's actual name, a small but important gesture as it means he is now accepted, at least by Perconte, as a real soldier instead of merely a replacement.

* The soldiers happily running and riding up to the Eagle's Nest. It's the closest we've seen them look like the young, carefree boys we first met at Toccoa, and it is definitely a welcome sight after nine episodes of death and tears.
-->Malarkey: HI-YO, SILVER!!!
* Teetotaler Richard Winters posts a couple of guards in front of a Nazi bunker -- specifically Hermann Goering's house -- to protect its contents from looters... then tells his friend, the hard-drinking Lewis Nixon (who has been complaining recently about not being able to find his favorite whiskey), to grab anything he wants from the massive wine cellar, then tells him that it's VE-Day, and the fighting in Europe is over. The look on Nixon's face is halfway between poleaxed and bursting into tears of joy.
* Lip and Harry happily hugging each other after Dick breaks the good news of the German army's surrender.
* The surrender of the German Colonel. After a brief moment of wistful wondering as to what happens to men like him and Winters, now that there are no more battles to fight, he hands over his pistol to Winters as a symbol of surrender (and because he doesn't want to have to surrender it to a clerk, like the rest of his men will their weapons, per Winters' orders). After a moment, Winters tells him he may keep it. For but a small moment, the discipline of a Wehrmacht Officer breaks and you see how truly touched the Colonel is by the gesture of respect between two former adversaries.
** Even more heartwarming is what actually happened in real life. Winters kept the pistol, only to find out it had never once been fired, and he kept it that way for the duration of his life. He felt it appropriate that for him the war should end with the surrender of a firearm that had never been used for the purpose of killing.
* Janovec and the German guard at the checkpoint. After months of fighting the Nazi army, it was nice to see two soldiers who until recently had been trying to kill each other exchanging jokes and stories. Janovec, in particular, is very respectful and in complete awe over the older soldier's achievements, especially since this was supposedly the German's second world war.
* After Webster takes over for Janovec at the checkpoint, he forces a German civilian couple to make room in their car for a wounded German veteran. The veteran is wearing a flat cap. One of the units to be allowed to wear this as daily wear were the Fallschirmjäger, the German paratroopers. Webster is not being nice to just any wounded veteran; he is showing that he feels a kinship with his German counterpart.
* Shifty Powers, a Toccoa man with fewer points than many of the replacements, laments that he has no chance of going home before the big jump into Japan. His buddies proceed to rig a drawing to ensure that he is chosen "at random" to go home free and clear. Yes, he was seriously injured, robbed, and got home after most of his buddies due to a vehicle accident, but its the thought that counts.
** Before Shifty leaves, he stops by to say goodbye to Major Winters. He tells him how he’s unsure about how he’ll be able to go back to Virginia and explain everything to his friends and family. Winters' response?
-->Winters: You're a hell of a fine soldier, Shifty. What more is there to say?
** Shifty then salutes Winters, who instead holds out his hand to shake not as his commanding officer, but as his friend.
* Winters sending Malarkey away from the impending jump into the Pacific to be a consultant at a Parisian war exhibit instead. Like Shifty, Malarkey tries to salute him, but Winters simply shakes his hand instead.
** In the same scene, Winters reassigning Lipton to Battalion HQ in order to ensure that he doesn't stray too far from Easy. He also tells Lip how idiotic it would be to take him away from the men, considering how much they all love and respect him.
* A morbid example, but the way the men all jump into action to find the man who shot Chuck Grant.
** This includes a tired Webster, who has clearly just finished a patrol. However, when Malarkey briefs him about what has just happened, he immediately turns around and heads out with the rest of them, his own exhaustion be damned.
* Speirs' sheer determination not to let another of his men die on his watch. Even when one surgeon tells him that Chuck's case is pretty much a lost cause, he refuses to give up until he finds a surgeon who can save Chuck's life.
** Spiers is holding Grant's hand while the American doctor gives his prognosis.
* While the men rightfully beat up the shooter, Tab and Luz are shown playing cards in the next room, with the former being visibly disturbed at the ongoing violence. Luz, sensing his friend's discomfort, tries to distract him, and when that fails, gently says that they should just play cards.
* The German general's speech at the end of the series, showing that not all Germans were evil.
-->"Men, it's been a long war, it's been a tough war. You've fought bravely, proudly for your country. You're a special group. You've found in one another a bond, that exists only in combat, among brothers. You've shared foxholes, held each other in dire moments. You've seen death and suffered together. I'm proud to have served with each and every one of you. You all deserve long and happy lives in peace."
** Even more heartwarming because it's also a NotSoDifferentRemark. Here we have a story about the closeness of brothers-in-arms, and that entire theme is summed up perfectly in this speech. By a German soldier. It's not lost on the men of Easy either, with Speirs, Nixon, Winters, and Lip visibly feeling emotional, and Liebgott--who has been translating--giving a soft smile at the end of the German officer's speech.
* Tab requesting to be demoted because he misses being around the men.
* The baseball game at the end, where the futures of each surviving Company member are summarized.
** The reveal that George Luz had over 1600 people attend his funeral.
** Harry getting to go home and marry Kitty Grogan.
----
