* At the very start of the game, Kaim and Seth are caught up in the meteor that crashes down over the battlefield. Given the fact there are no bodies around when Kaim comes to, it's pretty obvious that they themselves were reduced to nothing but ashes at some point. Since they're 'immortal' it's fine that they come back, but the real issue is.. how do their clothes survive? Kaim sort of gets a pass because he's wearing armour, and you can see helmets and pieces of metal that still survived on the ground, but Seth's outfit? Not a chance.
* A better question regarding that scene would be: Why does the threat of being frozen in ice or trapped in a cave scare the immortals, but not the threat of being buried alive / sealed inside drying lava? A giant meteor falling from the sky could potentially do either of those things to Kaim, so he should be more terrified of it than the soldiers fleeing around him.
** This is due to them having most of their memories back. When they do not have memories of their existence in 1000 years, they become less of living individuals and more like puppets being ordered around by various peoples of power. As they slowly regain their memories (Kaim relucantly), they slowly begin to cherish them like precious objects and Kaim learns and cherishes the fact that he has grandchildren. While being ignorant of being buried alive and sealed in dry lava doesn't faze them due to having almost no memories, later attempts that will fatally harm them will cause them to fear that not only is the possibility that they might lose their body, but also their memories and to be back as amnesiac individuals like they are in the beginning.
* Why does Seth have to go into the portal with Gongora? Couldn't she have pushed him as hard as she could and knocked him off balance?
** Look at the size of Gongora. With the large golden armor that he had and a large body structure, it will be incredibly difficult for an average person to push and shove him to the portal, especially Seth, who is shorter and less muscular than him.
** Alternatively, Seth knows that she is going to lose her son again, as Sed is an old man. While Ming has Jansen and Kaim and Sarah have Cooke and Mack for a long period of time, Seth and Sed will only be together for a short time before Sed dies, possibly of old age. She already lost Aneira and Sed and she might lose her son again, this time permanently. To avoid with the pain of losing someone again, she offers herself to go back to her place with Gongora, this time to serve as a witness for the crimes he had committed.
* At least one character (Jansen) very early on makes reference to Kaim's and Seth's age as being a thousand years old... before they have their memories and know their own ages. So, how do they know how old Kaim and Seth are?
** It's possible that their deeds are already known far and wide, especially that Kaim has a career as a mercenary before his memories return. Similarly, Ming is also refereed as the "Thousand Year Old Queen", which would make sense since she lived for so long that the Numarans keep on talking about her.
* Despite that the game is a huge reference to Final Fantasy and other JRPG, most of the monster names are rather simple, instead of grandiose. Giant ice spiders called Glacier Beasts, giant birds called Big Owl and vicious plant monsters known as Man Eaters, what kind of creator names these creatures with plain and bland names?
* What happened to the Khent? While one can still visit Gohtza even though many of the areas are inaccessible, players can no longer visit Khent itself, as if they cannot visit it anymore.
* Cooke as a White Mage is pretty strange when she could have used her magic to heal her mother, thus preventing her death.
** Cooke, when she first joins the party, only has LV 1 and LV 2 White Magic, which could corresponds to only the basic white magic spells that she could have. She may be able to cast Heal on her mother, but it does not instantly guarantee full recovery and Cooke's skills back then are underleveled. This also translates well into the game, with Cooke unable to help her mother with White Magic despite having one because her skills in magic isn't fully developed until late in the game.
*** To take this a step further it's quite likely the entire reason Cooke is a White Mage is *because* her mother was dying. It's quite in keeping with her personality that her response to her mother dying would be to try to learn magic to heal her, even if ultimately she wasn't capable of mastering it in time.
* Despite being the main character and his significant other, grandparents of two other party members, and having both in-game cutscenes and rendered CGI cutscenes focused solely on them, there is a surprisingly lack of background information regarding the when and why Kaim and Sarah are the only two Immortals who not only married each other, but also had a child together. This is especially interesting from Kaim's perspective, as his 1000 Years of Dream stories often bring up how he has settled down and had families several times over with mortal wives, all which left him depressed and jaded as he outlived all of them. Was this a key reason why he pursued a relationship with Sarah? To at last have someone who could truly be his lifelong companion? Or was that a bonus on top of a true connection with her as he could finally wholeheartedly love someone without the constant fear of outliving them?
** What exactly was Sarah doing prior to marrying Kaim? Sarah is lacking in characterization due to never regaining her memories unlike the other Immortals, not having a personal Dream story, and so her entire character seems to revolve around being hitched to Kaim. As she declares that Kaim is the "only man she has ''ever'' loved", it's possible that unlike Kaim or Seth, she never pursued romantic relationships with mortals ever in her 1000 years of life. Notably, unlike all the other Immortals, she isn't known for ''any'' personal exploit other than being Kaim's eternal bride according to Sed, suggesting she was completely off the radar and mostly uninvolved with the world in general, for all the years prior to marrying Kaim.
%%** How long have Kaim and Sarah been married, and why did they decide to have a child so close to the deadline when they would be returning to their home world and end up not only leaving her behind, but possibly not even having enough time to raise her to adulthood before returning? It is not mentioned exactly when they even met, let alone marry, but it's at least within the last 50 years The fuzzy timeline of exactly when Kaim and Sarah decided to marry and settle down and the surprisingly lack of a flashback or even Dream story detailing how they met and fell in love makes it all harder to figure out their decision to become a family. ** It is shown in a flashback that 30 years prior to the current events in the game, all the Immortals had gathered at Grand Staff and were all resolute in returning home except for Gongora. This included Kaim and Sarah. If they already had Lirum, then them being adamant about returning makes no sense as Lirum would be just a baby or a toddler at that point and from neither of them would be enthusiastic about leaving their baby daughter behind at all. So it seems likely that at that point, Lirum was not yet born.
