* Opus the penguin of ''ComicStrip/BloomCounty'' has a red bowtie.
* Gaylord Buzzard from ''Broom Hilda'' wears thick, horn-rimmed glasses, spats and (sometimes) a fez for reading.
* ''ComicStrip/OverTheHedge'' plays with this trope. Verne's shell does act as clothes for him, leaving him without it either naked to be confronted by the Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol or to take part in a limbo contest (for example), or with tighty-whitey undershorts. That does not, however, preclude his wearing clothes over it, usually full suits that include pants, shirt, and shoes. RJ's fur is more of an all-purpose covering, although he also wears clothes over it, most notably a parka when preparing for winter and a pair of undies and a robe when getting ready for a ''nude scene''.
* Most of the [[FunnyAnimal cast of critters]] from ''ComicStrip/{{Pogo}}''.
* {{ComicStrip/Shoe}}, from the self-titled comic strip, is a purple martin bird that wears sneakers and socks. Perfesser Cosmo Fishhawk wears a shirt, sweater and shoes. He also has a sportscoat.
* ''{{ComicStrip/Ziggy}}'' until December 2009. After that he wore LongPants.
* Snoopy from ''ComicStrip/{{Peanuts}}'' as "Joe Cool": sweater with his name on it and sunglasses.
* Dutch newspaper comic ''Fokke & Sukke'' cranks this UpToEleven by not only having both Fokke (a humanoid duck) and Sukke (a humanoid rooster) walk around with no pants, but also explicitly showing [[http://www.zone5300.nl/images/296.gif their (human) penises]], with which they are [[http://lambiek.net/aanvang/artefacts/1990_krantestrips/fokkesukke.gif very preoccupied]]. In case they do wear pants, they will have [[http://strips.a20.net/2006.04.02/Fokke%20en%20Sukke-2006.04.02.gif holes to accommodate their genitalia]]. Obviously, given their names (which are real Dutch names), lampshaded ''very'' often.
* {{ComicStrip/Heathcliff}} is normally entirely nude, like any housecat. In one comic he disguises himself as a professor. TheComicsCurmudgeon mentions [[http://joshreads.com/?p=16783all the strange things about the comic in question]] and the post is titled "Also, I know several professors, and they rarely go naked from the waist down in public."
* Megan the shark of ''ComicStrip/ShermansLagoon'' wears only a necklace, while her husband wears nothing. Lampshaded and parodied when a series where her necklace was stolen. She screamed about she was now naked, and the others obliged by not looking at her. Megan responded "[[ArentYouGoingToRavishMe You could at least act like you want to peek]]."
