* When you slow down the movement of the Ippei and Kenichi fist fight from the opening sequence frame by frame, you'll end up with some weird expressions on their faces from the blink-and-you'll-miss-it scene.
* Did anyone else notice how the ending theme and credits sequence has Kenichi running towards his brothers and... himself?
** It must be a case of OffModel as it was supposed to be Kentaro Go running towards his three sons to hug them in a heartfelt reunion.
** Even funnier that the production staff didn't seem to bother fixing that scene and that lasted until the end of the series.
* Kenichi's habit of pulling out a gun in response to any conflict, even when said conflict can be solved through basic communication.
** Throughout the course of the series, Kenichi brings out his gun in response to Ippei saying he wants to quit the team and his own ten year old brother because he had the audacity to bring his RobotBuddy with the Team on a mission. If it wasn't for CharacterDevelopment, Kenichi would be remembered as a sociopath a la Speed Racer.
*** When said ten year old brother cries and begs Kenichi not to shoot his RobotBuddy, Kenichi then hands him the gun and tells him to shoot it instead.
** Come to think of it, remember Kenichi's response in failing to master the Butterfly Return in time by traditional means? That's right, he also pulled out his gun, but this time he told Daijiro to shoot him so he could catch the bullet between two stones instead. Like that's somehow easier to do than catching a blade with your bare hands! What.
* Episode 3 has this conversation between Ippei and Megumi:
-->Ippei: "Megumi, I'd like to rest. You're welcome to stare if you'd like." (slaps his shirtless, bare chest)
-->Megumi: "I'm more interested in hearing about your mother!"Megumi wanted to know why Ippei hated his mother so much.
* In episode 4, when Heinel and his aides meet Beast Fighter Gardo for the first time, Heinel asks for a demonstration of his power, which Gardo proves by roaring so loud it causes debris to fall. When Katherine holds Heinel's shoulders and says it was quite frightening, Heinel doesn't even glance at her and shoves her off while praising Gardo.
** Gardo's stupid grin, which he doesn't change at all from the minute he's dispatched to fight the Voltes robot.
** Episode 4 also has an animation error. After Gardo destroys Gladiator, Prince Heinel grants him two Boazanian horns. However, in the episode's first shot, he already has two horns.
** Similar to how Kenichi brings out his gun in response to every problem(before CharacterDevelopment demanded Kenichi become an AllLovingHero), Megumi brings out her shurikens whenever she's angry. In episode 4, after seeing Kenichi act mean to Hiyoshi, Megumi is seen throwing a shuriken at Kenichi's face in the team's group photo.
* Episode 8, we have... Oh no, Rui Jangal! What in heavens are you wearing?! Kids, cover your eyes!Jangal's shirt was colored wrong by the animation crew, so it looks like he's wearing nothing at all... nothing at all...
* When Voltes V is beating up Bombus easily, the world leaders witnessing it act giddy and entertained as if they're watching an action movie.
* For one of the more successful Kaiju/Juushi that Voltes V has ever faced, episode 10's Namazungo is still a literal Gonk oversized catfish monster with what looks like a Narm bicycle flashlight on its head.
* In episode 13, when Zuhl tells Heinel, Katherine and Jangal that he's discovered that humans are capable of love, the three of them stare at him in stunned silence...before Katherine cracks up laughing, and Heinel and Jangal follow suit. When Zuhl exasperatedly insists it's not a joke, the three further ridicule him.
** In the same episode, we also have the infamous memetic scene of Prince Heinel asking in disdain, "How can humans be capable of love?"
* In episode 18, Kentaro Gou laughing like a madman while being used as a meat shield by a desperate Zuhlthinking that Voltes V was destroying the Skullrook with him still inside because they valued taking down the Boazanian forces over his own life instead of the truth that the Voltes Team had merely dealt with one too many robot imposters recently and thought he was just another android is kind of funny in a DramaticIrony or GallowsHumor kind of way.
* Episode 22 features Katherine and Heinel going TheresNoKillLikeOverkill on Zuhl once it's found out he attempted to assassinate Heinel.Jangal is about to kill Zuhl, but Heinel pardons him under the condition that he kills the Voltes Team. They send Zuhl to Big Falcon with shackled legs and a large, round weight. Though the guards originally assume he is an old man, the Voltes team recognize him as Zuhl. Zuhl begs for their mercy and tells them Heinel wants him dead. Zuhl is then taken to their emergency room while a welder tries to dismantle the weight chained to his legs. Zuhl tells the Voltes team that Heinel always tortured him and one day, threw him in a cell. While Kou, Hiyoshi, Daijirou and Megumi listen intently, Ippei calls it "bullshit" and asks how he escaped so easily. Zuhl replies that he was helped by Boazanian rebels. Back at their spaceship, Katherine praises Heinel for his plan of secretly attaching a bomb in the weight around Zuhl's leg, and Heinel remarks that Zuhl should be honoured to die in the line of duty. They laugh amongst each other. After the weight is dismantled, Tako hears a ticking sound from it, and throws it outside of Big Falcon, saving them and Zuhl from its explosion. The Voltes Team laugh, but an angered Ippei confronts Zuhl and accuses him of setting them up to be killed. Despite Zuhl insisting that he is innocent, Ippei lifts his staff and says he ought to shaft him. However, Ippei then realizes the staff is ticking too. He realizes it is another bomb and throws it outside. Like the first bomb, it explodes. In the end of the episode Heinel reveals that he never had any intention of forgiving Zuhl and has him killed, which is a notable MoodWhiplash from the prior incident. TL;DR: [[spoiler: Heinel really wanted Zuhl and the Voltes Team dead by sending him on a SuicideMission and hiding bombs in not only his ball and chain but also his signature staff.]]
* Throughout the series, we're told of Planet Boazania's Evil Emperor Zambajil. We're told of how he wants to enslave the entire galaxy, looks down on the human race, subjects his slaves to whippings and hard labor, and [[spoiler: arranged multiple assassination attempts on his nephew's life due to him being the true heir to the throne]]. Many Boazanian refugees speak of Zambajil's name with fear, shuddering as they recall his tyranny, while members of his own court speak of his name with praise and adoration. Thing is, when the audience finally gets a proper look at Zambajil, he looks like this.
* In episode 23, Daijirou adopts a puppy and asks his teammates if they think there's a resemblance between the two of them.
--> Hiyoshi: "Yeah, a difference of about 200 pounds"
* In Episode 27, Heinel and his aides discuss strategies to take down the Solar Bird. During the meeting, Belgan proves that he isn't the brightest crayon in the box.
--> Heinel: "General Belgan, don't tell me you plan to make a fake Solar Bird and trick Voltes V. It won't work. That idea is ridiculous."
* In Episode 30, Kenichi is sent a letter stating that if he wants to see his father, he must meet the sender, "Jane", at the church in the next morning alone. Kenichi indulges the letter with predictable results.Instead of sending the suspicious letter to Professor Sakonji for verification, or keeping in mind the numerous times the Boazanians tried to pull similar tricks on him, Kenichi doesn't question it and meets the sender at the church the next morning, as instructed. The church turns out to be secretly full of explosives and traps, but he manages to escape them, all while rescuing "Jane". And the cherry on top is that "Jane" is obviously Katherine wearing a white sheet over her signature long horns, but it takes the explosion of the bomb blowing the sheet off for him to realize this. TL;DR:
** Katherine's "disguise" also heavily resembles the titular characters from Film/Coneheads. It becomes even funnier when you remember that context-wise, both are aliens trying to blend in with humans.
* In episode 31, Ippei catches Megumi picking flowers and asks if they're for a boy. When Troll Megumi says they are, Ippei asks if that boy is him, and Megumi says no. Ippei then has Eiffel nudge Megumi and then tries to spy on her to see who said "boy" is.
* The show's GratuitousEnglish can become this at times, such as Ippei's command "Bomber Bombs".
* Beast Fighter Daruda's head is a fire hydrant.
* Katherine at one point appears to do the Yamcha pose.
** That would mean she predates the memorable Yamcha pose as Voltes V was released in 1977 while Anime/DragonBallZ was released in 1989.
* In episode 38, the entire team of apparently rocket scientists and nuclear physicists condescendingly laugh at poor SamuraiCowboy Ippei Mine for the temerity of not understanding how a space warp works. A giggly Megumi uses a wristwatch to explain to him how they're able to move instantaneously from 14,000 light years away using fifth dimensional travel to get to Boazan in no time flat.
-->Megumi: "...That cuts the distance and traveling time between two points. Get it?"
-->Ippei: "Could you run that theory by me again?"
-->The Gou Brothers and Prof. Sakunji: "*proceeds to laugh at Ippei*"
* Zambajil's bright idea to escape with a wagonload of riches. Keep in mind this guy's Planet is being revolted against left and right, and instead of bringing supplies, all this Narcissist can think about is money.
