[[folder:In General]]
* Glitches in any game can be pretty hilarious, as seen [[http://simsgonewrong.tumblr.com here]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''The Sims'' (2000)]]
* The [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=d41v_8KahZg genie]] from Livin' Large says some pretty funny lines whenever your Sims' wishes backfire.
-->''Dirt devils of doom! I said plants BLOOM! Not plants GLOOM! Sorry about that, you may want to call the gardener.''
-->''Great balls of fire!'' (after heating the shower up too fast and setting it ablaze)
-->''By the Moon's backside!''
-->''Camel sweat! I must be losing my touch!''
-->''A thousand fleas on my head! Why can't I ever get this right?!''
-->''ROACHES! This stupid spell! Oh well... Sometimes you win... sometimes you loose [sic].''
-->''Looks like my desert wind spell is just too hot.'' (after causing a fire)
-->''Ah sewer serpents!''
-->''Flaming cow lips! I think I broke a nail! Looks like I broke your skills too... sorry.''
* One of the [[SadClown Tragic Clown's]] attempts to cheer up a depressed Sim involves a magic trick where he has a dove materialize in his hands, but when he tries to release it into the air, it falls flat on the ground.
** To get rid of the Tragic Clown, you need to call the Clown Catchers. ''Clown Catchers''. There's such a problem with clowns that some people specialize in ''capturing them''.
* Play a musical instrument badly, and even your closest friends will boo.
* Sometimes, the butler drinks on duty.
* In ''Superstar'' there is an item called "The Genius Loci Karaoke Stage" and if a sim that attempts to sing has 0-2 creativity points, the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEli6LbCaq8 listeners cry out in pain]]. The selling point is its rather exaggerated reactions from said listeners, the singer doesn't even sing in an ear-deafening tone (but rather, one that would expect for those who are stage-shy), yet their audience act as if they are.
* The ironic description for the Christmas cookies is highly amusing. After claiming that mothers love them for their "all-natural ingredients", it then lists the food's actual ingredients, almost all of which are either synthetic or highly processed ingredients (e.g. high fructose corn syrup, cookie flavoring) or outright hazardous chemicals (e.g. mercury).
* [[https://youtu.be/dtWPD2-cfhY Claire the Bear]]. Her mannerisms and vocalizations were so goofy, some players wondered whether she was an actual bear, or a crazy person in a bear suit.
* One magic ingredient in Makin' Magic are "Sands of Time". They're kept in a plastic bucket with a small shovel, the kind you'd take to the beach to make sandcastles.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''The Sims 2'']]
* The things Sims do in ''The Sims 2'' when their aspirations fail are [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLKiv5oNDww pretty funny]]:
** A lot of them seem to involve a CompanionCube, for instance the scholar who fails at knowledge dresses a ball as a professor, the woman who fails at family [[BabyDollBaby adopts a sack of flour]], the man who fails at romance romances a mop, and the guy who fails at popularity makes friends with a cup.
** The woman who failed at pleasure ended up [[LampshadeWearing putting a lampshade on her head and dancing]].
** The guy who [[LethalChef failed at making a grilled cheese sandwich]] ended up drawing one and pretending to eat the drawing.
* To get your child accepted into the academy, you need to impress the stuffy headmaster of the school by having him to your house for dinner. One way to get on his good side is to install a bar. The more he drinks, the more likely he will be to admit your child.
* Vampires in ''The Sims 2'', and their tendency to [[CallingYourAttacks BLEH!!!]] at people [[IncomingHam every time they enter a room.]]
* Everything about the Grilled Cheese aspiration (which your Sim got if the Renuyu Senso-Orb, meant to change aspiration, backfires), including the description of the lifetime want and the aspiration itself on the secondary aspiration chooser.
* The cutscene for a MisterSeahorse birth. Doubly funny if you compare it with the regular ones.
* In ''University'', younger women will be heard [[TheImmodestOrgasm singing opera while Woohooing]].
* The "Cuddle" interaction between a toddler and a cat in ''Pets''; the cat will always react rather humorously to being squeezed.
* The fact that [[BigfootSasquatchAndYeti Bigfoot]] is the supreme master of everything. Need somebody to do your gardening? Bigfoot! Need a flower arrangement? Bigfoot! Need home repairs? Bigfoot! Need a makeover? Bigfoot! Need a robot? Bigfoot!
** Need a burglar alarm? Also Bigfoot!
* If The Butler has started preparing a meal and the player cancels the action, he will cry.
* Some of the ingame movies. Special mention goes to the two "Action" movies, which include a country-wide game of fetch, to a major shenanigans happening because of a weather control machine (which is one of the bonus items).
* When a Sim in College decides to take up the Drama major, some pretty... hilariously silly and sometimes disturbing things can happen if the faculty professor happens to be invited over. The reason for this is that ''every single Drama Major professor is programmed to fall in love with their students'', no matter what, so [[StudentTeacherRomance you could have your own university professors flirt with your Sims]]! Better yet, if you choose to have your Sim respond to these affections and even [=WooHoo=] with them, ''their grades go up''! That's right, folks, ''you can graduate from college by simply having sex with your teacher!''
* While it can be rather cruel, watching Sims burn to death becomes funnier simply by looking at the way they flail and panic whilst burning. Doubly funny if they lit themselves on fire [[TooDumbToLive by walking right into the blaze]]. In fact, one of the cooking shows from The Yummy Channel in game TV shows just that.
* When wishing for romance in the Wishing Well from Seasons, there's a chance the wish will fail and Mrs. Crumplebottom will come climbing out of the well [[Film/TheRing Sadako-style]] and beat up your sim with her purse.
* The Slap and Attack interactions yield some hilarious results. Sims literally start seeing stars when slapped, and disappear into a cartoony brawling cloud when attacked.
* Build a LoveDodecahedron. [[VideoGameCrueltyPotential Watch the entire neighborhood turn on its head due to drama and jealousy]]. Heck, Pleasantview, arguably the most normal of all three neighborhoods, was built ''just'' for this, and the Romance Aspiration from The Sims 2, closest to playing a villain in The Sims, are designed just for this.
* Make two different sims have many different lovers at the same time. Make them later marry each other, and invite all of their lovers to their wedding. When all of their lovers see the couple kiss, they will all get pissed (with the "cheated on" sound blasting through your speakers, since it's so many at the same time), and you get to watch them line up to give the happy couple a good slap. This all takes a very long time to do, but damn it's worth it, because it's ''hilarious''.
* Chance cards. The options on them are usually funny, ''and'' the description of the outcome [[HilarityEnsues is funny as well]], even if something bad actually happened to your Sim. Some of the best ones are a Politician having the contents of their speech [[ScriptSwap swapped with]] a script of ''Theatre/TitusAndronicus'' and a Military Sim getting the option to "make your recruits march in their underwear or replace their rifles with baguettes."
** One Medical career Chance Card involves the Sim getting stuck in a huge traffic jam whilst on a routine ambulance run to pick up a patient. The options are to either proceed on foot, or ''just drive on the sidewalk''. Of course, picking the latter option usually results in your Sim getting fired.
** A chance card for Home Video Editor (Slacker career track) has the Sim hired by a music video director to edit her video. If the player chooses to use footage of bunnies sneaking carrots, the director gives them all of her worldly possessions (75,000 simoleons) and goes to live with the bunnies.
* In the University expansion pack, the names of some of the classes are pretty funny, especially for the art majors: "Oil Paints, and Other Ways to Poison Oneself", "Life Drawing: An Excuse to See Naked People", and "Conceptual Art: No, Really. It's Art!"
** "Internship: [[YouGetMeCoffee Coffee-Making at Landgraab Enterprises]]."
** A class for History is called "Political Science Majors: Why You Should Hate Them." Political Science also has a class called "History Majors: Why You Should Hate Them."
* If the last Sim on a lot dies, the Grim Reaper will casually hang around the house a bit after reaping souls, he might use the toilet or watch TV.
** During the reaping itself, Grim rifles through some paperwork and uses his cellphone to call someone or something, like if he needs to make sure he's really reaping the right soul.
* A funny [[GoodBadBugs glitch]] in the "Pets" expansion: if you have a Sim prepare food right before work, but the car arrives before they can eat, they just drop the food on the floor and go. If you go into Classic mode and select "Eat", then the Sim will pick it up and eat it when they get back, despite it having gone bad in the meantime - resulting in a hilarious gagging animation.
* The animations of Sims wetting their pants are pretty funny.
* Resurrecting Knut Futa (one of the pre-deceased sims who died on Olive Spector's lot) is hysterical once you realize the game considers him a baby, and thus other Sims will treat this full-grown man like a baby (Be warned, resurrecting him will really corrupt your game).
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''The Sims 3'']]
* The Inappropriate trait. These Sims will [[InnocentFanserviceGirl wash themselves naked in front of a kitchen sink in a room full of people]], try to kiss anyone and everyone, say they hate their family to members of their family, and can [[YourMom imply that peoples' mothers are llamas.]]
* Evil trait also counts, as it mentally turns your Sims into [[VideoGame/MonkeyIsland Murray]].
** To wit, they can [[CardCarryingVillain "Take evil bath" "evil slumber", and "Make evil latte"]]. Muhahaha! Also, they can [[PokeThePoodle steal candy from babies and make them cry]].
* Daredevil Sims are similar, in that [[MundaneMadeAwesome they can "extreme jog" and "take extreme shower until extremely clean"]].
* Sims given the Neurotic trait have the option to "Freak Out", which gives them the Tranquil moodlet. It might depend on your sense of humor, but the ''way'' they scream is kind of funny.
* Any Sim with the Insane trait. Many of the things they do are just ''hilarious''.
* One of the jobs for the firefighters in ''The Sims 3: Ambitions'', should you have Late Night installed too, is to save the movie set from a herd of angry llamas. [[note]]Doubles as BilingualBonus as "llama" is Spanish for flame.[[/note]]
* On the Sports Channel we start with a woman reporting in the snow with some people fooling around in the background. After a sports report, we cut back to them... the woman now being stiff with cold and the background people replaced with snowmen. For added hilarity, the woman FALLS OVER, stiff as a plank. Followed by one of the newsreaders crying over her apparent death while the other goofs about.
* How about the twist ending in one of Terror TV's show, complete with sexy slow jam?
* If a Sim gets rejected when asking for [=WooHoo=], they get the "Walk of Shame" moodlet; they do an actual walk of shame and hang their head down low when walking with that moodlet. On the other, if they don't get rejected, they may do the "Stride of Pride" walk afterwards.
* Having a singer yell at someone, then get a pop-up saying that person needs a Sing-A-Gram to cheer them up. Even funnier when the two Sims are based off characters who are mean to each other in the source material.
* You can friend-zone Sims at the "Romantic Interest" relationship state.
* Fairy Sims can use the "Cheat the System" interaction on claw machines, making your fairy shrink down & raid the claw machine. Their maniacal laughter while they do the deed is what sells it.
* Quite a few interactions with werewolves treat them as if they were pet dogs. A sim might use a newspaper on a werewolf's muzzle to chastise it for doing something inappropriate. Also, if you're friends with a werewolf, they'll eagerly play fetch with you, which is quite the sight to behold. And even an alpha wolf is helpless against the dreaded belly rub.
* In the official trailer for the Pets expansion, it shows a burglar slinking along who walks off screen then runs back being chased by about six rottweilers.
* The fact that a meteor crashing into a school is not adequate reason for dismissing the children inside according to the game's logic, ensuring that they all die, is darkly hilarious, but is made even funnier by the fact that this was explicitly ''not'' an oversight, as the patch notes for their addition are very clear about.
* On the subject of patch notes, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nxsCZ2SEcQ this soundbite]] by Meterstick Jim shares moments of hilarity when he barely contains his laughter when he reads the patch notes. This one takes the cake:
--> "It is no longer possible to 'Try for Baby' [wheezes] ''[[DidYouJustRomanceCthulhu with the Grim Reaper]]''." [wheezes more]
* One of the love letters you can get in Seasons.
--> "... Here's something that I made while thinking of you." A photograph is enclosed - Whoa!
* Fighting: The Sims end up in a BigBallOfViolence like the first 2 games, though some of the violence is visible and it's hilarious. The loser gets humiliated. In the Late Night expansion it's actually possible to start a BarBrawl. If a Sim is slapped they will show stars around their head.
* The [[{{MundaneMadeAwesome}} dramatic]] music that plays when the repo man comes to your house. He also does an [[http://youtu.be/OXCARdR23hc?t=52s evil laugh]] before taking your stuff.
* You can tell a kid to check for [[ThingsThatGoBumpInTheNight monsters under a bed]]. If the kid [[RealAfterAll does find monsters there]], they'll run away and have the following moodlet:
--> "NOOO!! Monsters are totally real and they're under the bed and they totally want to eat up [kid]! PANIC!!"
** Followed by the kid being unable to interact with that bed for a few hours.
---> "Are you kidding?! [Kid] isn't going anywhere near that bed."
* There's also the [[http://youtu.be/_09A_Osh2g8 delightfully hammy burglar.]]
* The "creeped out" moodlet.
* In ''The Sims 3 University Life,'' the mascots dance "[[Music/{{PSY}} Mascot Style]]."
* During the Christmas season after the final expansion, ''The Sims 3 Into the Future'', was released, the ''Sims 3'' team gave us [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pw7uqSlyB_o the 12 days of simsmas]]. Highlights include the final image of "7 Creepers Creaping," depicting not zombies as the rest of the song had for that line, but 7 bizarrely dressed men with mustaches doing the Hustle.
* Buy Bonehilda. Buy bar. Watch Bonehilda spend all day making drinks, drinking drinks, and mopping up drinks.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''The Sims 4'']]
* On their official Platform/YouTube page, one of the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxG3HYkoQ-k promotional]] trailers for ''Get To Work'' with the male doctors as ChippendalesDancers, and the title is appropriately, "Male-practice". As one commenter put it:
-->'''[=PlumbobAddict=]''': EA girl... yall need jesus.
** When Movie Night Stuff was released, one of the decorations was a movie poster that is basically an advert for it.
* Another bit of BlackComedy, the look on a Sim's face right before [[DieLaughing dying from hysteria.]]
* The Grilled Cheese Aspiration. Steps for achieving it include eating grilled cheese sandwiches in space and talking about the delicious gooey treat ''with the Grim Reaper.'' And the reward? Sims can conjure a sandwich - anytime, anywhere!
* If you accidentally — or ''[[VideoGameCrueltyPotential deliberately]]'', should we say — trap a Sim in the money vault in ''Get Famous'', the victim gets the "Moneypot Trapped!" moodlet for '''''+4''' points to the Scared emotion'', effectively making them ''terrified!'' However, said moodlet's description is what sells it:
-->'''Moneypot Trapped!'''\\
[[OhCrap Oh no!]] [[HelloInsertNameHere {Sim Name}]] is trapped in the\\
vault and can't get out! What is he/she\\
going to do!?\\\
[[DevelopersForesight This is just like those stories of]] [[YouBastard Sims\\
getting trapped in pools with no\\
ladders]]!
** Also, the accompanying interaction name is "[[ThisIsGonnaSuck Uh Oh...]]"
* You can make your elder sims [=WooHoo=] and have them [[OutWithABang die from exhaustion]].
* The 'welcome wagon' event involves neighbours bringing in fruitcake for your Sim, which may lead to uncomfortable moodlets [[EveryoneHatesFruitcakes complaining about aforementioned fruitcake.]]
--> ''Yuck! Who eats that fruitcake stuff?!''
** There's also this little gem that pops up if you take a piece of the fruitcake and/or ask your neighbours about it:
---> ''Hope you like the fruitcake! [[IndestructibleEdible It's a family heirloom!]]''
* The way vampires hiss and spit in CAS can be pretty chucklesome.
* While exploring the ruins in Selvadorada, you can encounter and befriend skeletons. Said skeletons may sometimes [[DemBones take off a rib and play their own hip bones.]]
* An occasional glitch sometimes makes your Sims go swimming with all their usual clothing still on. Even better when they've got to go to work afterwards - in which case they might ''change into their work uniform in the pool itself.''
* Evil Sims can [[EvilLaugh cackle away to themselves randomly]], no matter what they're doing. Taking a bath, jogging on a treadmill, in mid-conversation with another Sim, it's all fair game.
* A hilarious nod to the modding community can be found in the Laundry Day stuff pack. Many items in this pack are named some variant of "Wicker Whims", which is a nod to the famous "Wicked Whims" mod, which adds sex animations and effects to the game. Yes, EA put a reference to a ''[[RefugeInAudacity sex mod]]'' into the game itself.
* During the ''Seasons'' preview livestream, the developers made the couple they were playing [[GRatedSex WooHoo]] in a leaf pile. A neighbour walks by and ''takes a photograph'', much to the developer's horror and amusement.
* One of the films your sim can watch on the romance channel is a dramatic film in which one of the main plot points involves a man driving away, over a hill, before the car ''[[EveryCarIsAPinto explodes.]]'' It's so sudden, it's hilarious.
** Even funnier/sadder when you realize that the “film” is actually a Sims recreation of the TV show ''Series/DowntonAbbey'', and the moment of the car exploding is a callback to one of the TV show’s most devastating moments.
* In the Realm of Magic game pack, spellcaster Sims can use cauldrons to brew many different types of potions with various powerful effects. Normal human Sims... [[MundaneUtility can use them to make mac and cheese.]]
* Sims, especially erratic ones, can shower in the rain.
* You can [=WooHoo=] in the spaceship.
* One glitch involves the Sims peeing fire.
* Sims trying to sing with low singing skill can be pretty hilarious.
* When Sims are sleeping, they talk to themselves, but every so often they'll laugh heartily. Makes sense because of course they're likely dreaming about something funny, but it's still hilarious the first time you hear it!
* Some of the loading screen text has become hilariously self-aware, simply saying "I don't want free earbuds." Another banner says nothing but "OK".
* As of ''Cottage Living'', [[HereWeGoAgain Agnes Crumplebottom is back.]] And now she finds even ''wedding ceremonies'' offensive. After release, simmer forums and subreddits were filled with stories of a couple happily getting married and [[CrossesTheLineTwice then being beaten over the head by Agnes' purse.]]
** Funnier enough, if she spots Sims doing something she doesn't like while running a stall, Agnes will literally ''close up shop'' just to hit your sims with her purse.
* From the same expansion, Evil Chickens with a high enough friendship with their owner will straight-up '''''[[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu fight the Grim Reaper himself]]''' to save them!''
** Doubly hilarious of ''two or more'' fight him off!
* Failing a crafting attempt on the fabricator will cause the using Sim to inspect the now-limp 3D printing arm, only for the thing to suddenly malfunction and pull the Sim into the 3D printing solution. What follows is the Sim ''literally engaging in fisticuffs against the printing arm'' with several comical animations, then getting tossed out unceremoniously. They'll never win the fight even with a max fitness skill, but hey, points for trying.
* In the Paranormal Stuff pack, after observing a specter the sim will become terrified, gaining the moodlet:
-->'''NOPE'''
-->(NOPE)
-->NOPE
* A werewolf perk in The Sims 4 is called "Voracious hunger" which is intended to make your werewolf sims simulate HorrorHunger and ExtremeOmnivore. Yet it's hilariously goofy because your sim literally ''eats in-game objects'' - such as ''furniture''. Why bother making dinner before you become a werewolf when you can just ''eat the fridge''? Or the table?
** The best part is, you can literally just make your Sim werewolf eat ''random peoples' furniture'' or things from a public lot. So your neighbour has a television that you like? Eat it. Then eat their fridge. Then eat their bed. Or eat the toilet.
*** Sometimes, your sim will get a nice moodlet from eating a random item. Even if they [[{{Squick}} ate a toilet]]. And sometimes they may get a "toothache" moodlet because [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome they ate a freaking hard object that clearly wasn't edible]].
** [[Platform/GoAnimate "Eat the living room - Nomnomnomnomnom."]]
* Eating Raw Meat as a werewolf will cause the sim to receive a happy moodlet. However, if the sim isn’t a werewolf, it will cause them to get a moodlet saying [[Series/HellsKitchen "IT'S RAAAWWWWW"]]. Its description reads "[[Series/KitchenNightmares YOU DONUT!!!]] DID YOU EVEN TASTE THIS?! GET! OUT! OF! MY! KITCHEN!"
* As mentioned by [=LGRPlays=], sometimes you'll end up being sent to the principal's office in the high school years... while [[GoodBadBugs the principal is playing video games on their PC instead]]. Or the teacher will pee themselves while teaching a class and [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight continue as normal]]. Or [[ArtificialStupidity your classmates will sit on the floor instead of the empty desk next to them]].
