* When Emmett and Paden ride into a town, Hobart, who's leading a group of settlers, mistakes them for two guides he and the other settlers have hired:
-->Hobart: Baxter! Hawley! Where the hell've you been? You're late and I tell you, I don't like it. It's a bad start, boys. I got my people down there throwin' snowballs and rarin' to go.
-->Emmett: I'm afraid it is a bad start, friend, cause my name ain't Baxter, and he ain't Hawley.
-->Hobart: You're not Baxter?
-->Emmett: Name's Emmett.
-->Hobart: You're not Baxter either?
-->Paden: No, I'm not Hawley.
* When Baxter and Hawley end up robbing the settlers of their money for their boss Dawson, Emmett rides into their hideout with his "dead" partner (Paden) and pretends to be on the run from a posse; does Dawson mind he crashed here?
-->Dawson: Mind? You bring a posse to my best hideout and you ask me if I mind?
** It's James Gammons' delivery of the line that really makes it funny.
** When the shooting starts, Emmett continues trying to bluff his way through. Some of the outlaws are convinced, but Dawson doesn't buy it for a second.
-->Dawson: I think there's only a coupla guys up there and this asshole's one of 'em!
* Later in that same scene, Emmett tries to "help" by getting the horses, while Mal, as part of the "posse", starts shooting in his direction. True to form, he only "misses" by a couple of inches, and after one shot, Emmett turns around and gives him a look as if to say, "You don't have to make it look that good!"
* Cleese gets several, from the way he shuts down the racist bartender to his casual final "Pick up my hat" after it's shot off his head.
** And in the same scene, when he realizes the futility and peril of continuing the chase, "Today my jurisdiction ends here."
* After Mal is sprung from prison, Cobb takes one look at the aftermath and laments how he's running out of deputies.
* When Emmett rescues Augie from the farm where [=McKendrick's=] men were holding him, he asks the boy where Jake is. Augie tearfully tells him Jake is dead because he "fell off his horse, over a cliff." After Emmett mouths "Jake fell off his horse?" in a questioning way, he comforts Augie while cracking a sly smile. Jake had earlier been shown as a master trick rider, so falling off his horse was highly unlikely.
* After Paden kills one of the men who stole his horse and rig, the local sheriff wants to take him in for murder. Paden, whose horse has been "kissing" him the entire time, tries to prove his story by telling the sheriff to see how much his horse loves him. The sheriff retorts he knew a saloon-girl who did that to him, but it didn't make her his wife. Paden convinces the sheriff of his story when he tells the sheriff to look at the underside of the saddle on the horse, where his name is scratched.
