* In general, most of Andy's snarks as well as Medavoy's bumbling fallacies.
* In ''The Nutty Confessor'' (season 3, episode 14), a suspect tries to pretend to be insane in order to institutionalized rather than imprisoned. What's the solution to get him to confess? Disguise Andy as a psychotic cannibal and make the suspect his cellmate.
* Andy talking about an old girlfriend in "Remembrance of Humps Past" (season 5, episode 10).
* From the same episode (season 5, episode 10): Simone and Sipowicz are interviewing a guy who beat his girlfriend's roommate to death for kicks. Simone begins by spinning an elaborate description of how Sipowicz is very angry but realizes violence is uncalled for, so they've decided Simone will do all the talking in order to keep things friendly. The suspect launches into a litany of insults against both the victim and the girlfriend, until Simone interrupts with a gentle raised finger and a friendly smile, says, "Departing from our interview strategy for just a moment--" and punches the suspect in the face hard enough to throw him across the room. Then picks him up, still with a smile, and resumes the friendly interview.
* There were some truly idiotic criminals on the show, such as the one in "Top Gum." Jill and Diane take a statement from a teenage girl whose mother's boyfriend had attempted to drug and rape her. When they pick him up, he insists on only talking to a district attorney. When Sylvia shows up, she and the detectives are just amazed at how blind this guy was to the trouble he was in.
-->'''Sylvia:''' If you give your statement I'll accept it unconditionally. I give you my word.
-->'''Tony:''' 'Cause I allowed temptation to occur. And I acknowledge I can't permit it no more. And I'd accept that in the future.
-->'''Sylvia:''' ''[handing him a pen]'' That's how I'd begin the statement.
-->'''Tony:''' ''[takes the pen]'' See I date this girl's mother. But I'm always exposed.
-->'''Diane:''' Nina's a very beautiful girl.
-->'''Tony:''' The daughter is.
-->'''Sylvia:''' I see.
-->'''Tony:''' And I allowed my urges to get too strong, I had too much of a hard-on for her. And I'd avoid that in the future.
-->'''Sylvia:''' ''[stunned]'' Well I'd put that in there, word for word.
-->'''Tony:''' And as far as the paint thinner goes and puttin' that rag over her face... hey, Nina's a nervous girl. I just wanted to help relax her.
-->'''Jill:''' Could he also write a note of apology to Nina, in which he talks about the paint thinner, for you to put in your record?
-->'''Sylvia:''' He could do the statement, and the apology too.
-->'''Tony:''' Hey, I'll write her mother, also.
