[[folder: Banjo-Kazooie ]]

* In the beginning, Banjo ''sleeps'' through his sister's kidnapping, with his backpack, Kazooie included, hanging on a hat stand. Eventually, Kazooie gets fed up and shouts at Banjo, rocking the stand so much it falls over!
* Gruntilda's rhymes will forever be stuck in your head. (Repeating over and over until you're dead?)
* The IdleAnimation in both games. In the first game Kazooie will occasionally pop from Banjo's bag and pester him with playful pecks on his head. Wait long enough and Banjo will get fed up with that and ''throttles'' Kazooie a few times.
* Upon finishing ''Grunty's Furnace Fun'', the duo are offered a choice of three prizes: Tooty, a washing machine cauldron and an ugly Grunty doll. In the following exchange, you would think that Kazooie is referring to the crude Grunty doll as ''ugly'', but she was actually referring to Tooty, leading Banjo to scold her for saying this things about his sister:
--> '''Banjo:''' Which one should we take?
--> '''Tooty:''' Me! Me! Me!
--> '''Kazooie:''' Err... How about that grotty ugly thing?
--> '''Banjo:''' I think we should take Tooty.
--> '''Kazooie:''' That's what I meant!
--> '''Banjo:''' (''appalled'') [[WhatTheHellHero Kazooie!!!]]
* The sequence after Banjo and Kazooie save Tooty and after the "credits" pass. Mumbo, Bottles and Banjo and Kazooie are having a cookout in celebration. Just then, Tooty comes out and complains that they haven't defeated Grunty. Banjo decides to go back to the lair, despite Kazooie complaining and whacking him with her cup.
* Every so often, when selecting a file in the original game, Banjo's bed will throw him out of the window. Or the fireplace will turn along with the floor Banjo's standing on, trapping him behind the walls, or his couch seat will spring up to launch him away.
* In the "Mad Monster Mansion" level after you get the jiggy from Loggo the toilet:
--> '''Grunty:''' [[EvenEvilHasStandards I can't believe you went in there, now wash your hands, filthy bear!]]
* Cheating by attempting to unlock levels will cause Grunty to appear and threaten to erase the save file. Do it again, and we shit you not, she actually does it. It may double as NightmareFuel for some.
--> '''Grunty:''' You didn't listen, I'm amazed, [[DeletionAsPunishment so now your Game Pak is erased!]]
* One of Grunty's questions in Grunty's Furnace Fun plays a voice clip of a character talking, and then you have to guess who the voice belongs to. If Banjo happens to be one of the options listed, he's called (rather than something like "Banjo the Bear" or simply "Banjo") ''[[BigStupidDoodooHead Banjo the Stupid Fat Bear]]''. Even in Grunty's Furnace Fun, he can't get away from her insults!
* One question in Grunty's Furnace Fun asking about the cellars in Mad Monster Mansion has one of the options being "The words; ''Get Lost Banjo''".

[[folder: Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts ]]

* ''Nuts And Bolts'' is by far the most self-aware installment in the series, constantly pointing out the poor logic of the game's universe. Some examples:
** The [[SelfDeprecation "Pointless Collecting"]] challenge at the start of the game.
--->'''L.O.G.:''' No, no, no... it's too painful to watch. [[TakeThat Gamers today don't want all this, they just want to shoot things!]]
** Cleaning up the debris after the volcano erupts causes Humba to say "Good thing I had this Jiggy to give away as a reward in case a random emergency happened!"
** The level introductions are parodies of the openings to 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s TV series, complete with their theme music. Specifically, Nutty Acres parodies ''Series/{{Dallas}}'', Logbox 720 spoofs ''Series/BuckRogersInTheTwentyFifthCentury'', Banjoland pays tribute to ''Series/TheLoveBoat'', the Jiggoseum references ''Series/Dynasty1981'', and the Terrarium of Terror is a take-off of ''Series/LostInSpace''. For some reason, people over 30 find this hilarious.
** Gruntilda admits to Banjo that if he beats her in a race she won't go through with her latest evil plan (polluting the water by having her cat take a crap in it). Kazooie points out how stupid this is, while Banjo claims it reminds him of something he did a long time ago involving [[VideoGame/DiddyKongRacing "...a genie and a giant pig.]]"
** Many of Mumbo's vehicle part descriptions:
---> '''Description for Chameleon:''' Vehicle go all wibbly and hard to see when bear press button. Like [[Film/{{Predator}} film with muscle man and big bad alien]].
---> '''Description for Spirit of Pants:''' Rubbish Rare website mascot now rubbish vehicle mascot. Not exactly flying lady like on sophisticated cars.
---> '''Description for [[VideoGame/VivaPinata Papery Pal]]:''' Bear put papery critter on vehicle and be filled with fun. Mumbo like ''Trouble in Paradise'', recommend player buy it tomorrow.
** In Banjoland, a museum made up of elements from past games, the giant trash can appears, literally filled to the brim with copies of ''VideoGame/GrabbedByTheGhoulies'' boxes.
** Boggy appearing ''twice'' in one act, lampshaded by both Banjo and Kazooie.
* Everything to do with Klungo's arcade game, "Hero Klungo Sssaves Teh World!".
** The name of the game is taken literally, as Hero Klungo [[GotTheWholeWorldInMyHand literally holds the world over his head]]… while still seemingly taking place ''on'' Earth.
** Due to Klungo [[DumbMuscle not being the best programmer]], it occasionally outright ''crashes'' and Klungo has to reset it. Can be [[ScrappyMechanic annoying to some]], but the sheer fact that Rare programmed that in as an occasional thing is hilarious in itself.
** The fifth and final stage, "Teh Bossssss", has Grunty as the titular boss. After Klungo jumps over a single fireball… Grunty [[ZeroEffortBoss drops dead for no explained reason]].
* The setup for one of L.O.G's Lost Challenges involves Mumbo inviting Banjo to a monster truck race... because he wants to offload some of his [[CasanovaWannabe "lady admirers"]] to his "loser friends".
-->'''Banjo:''' I don't... I can't... Where do we even start with a plan like that?
* Mumbo reveals that he wanted to do a ChariotRace, but changed his mind because the tow bars proved unreliable. That's right, even the ''game'' thinks those things are a ScrappyMechanic.
