[[folder:Fridge Brilliance]]
* Why do the Ninja specifically have main colors such as Black, Red, Blue, Green and White? Their colors represent the belt levels in traditional martial arts.
** This explains why Cole is the leader. The Belt progression is as follows:
*** Black - Cole
*** Red - Kai
*** Blue and Red - Nya
*** Blue - Jay
*** Green - Lloyd
*** White - Zane
* The city in which [[GreaterScopeVillain the Great Devourer]] is located in is called Ouroboros. It is also the position in which the Great Devourer is both found and defeated in -- with its tail in its mouth. An ouroboros represents a cycle. Lloyd also has an ouroboros as his symbol.
* Nya's favorite color is blue. The only known image of her mother shows her wearing blue. Images of Kai's father in the same book at least suggest that the outfits in those illustrations are those characters' default outfits.
** It also fits with her later discovering she is the Master of Water, which she inherited from her mother. Perhaps a subconscious recognition of that fact?
** Her initial ninja gi is red and blue, which are also worn by the ninja she is closest to: her brother Kai and her love interest Jay. However, she doesn't wear the same shades of those colors as Kai and Jay, reflecting her independent personality.
* The title "Masters of Spinjitzu" not only describes the four Ninja, it also refers to The First Spinjitzu Master and Lloyd Garmadon, who becomes the new Spinjitzu master in Episode 26.
* Krux choosing the museum as a hideout is perfectly understandable after discovering he hates modern life and that his Time Powers focused on the Reverse and Pause flow of time. If he's going into hiding until Acronix returns, might as well be at a place he can enjoy; somewhere that is filled with historical items, free of modern life and technology, and is a learning center of the ''past''.
** And it's been stated that the tours he (Dr. Saunders) gives out are extremely boring, so not a lot of people visit; he can be by himself to work out his plan in peace.
* Krux's distaste for modern technology is only natural when you consider that his Time Powers focused on the Reverse and Pause flow of time. The same can be said for Acronix's love for modern technology considering that his Time Powers focused on the Forward and SlowMotion flow of time.
** In other words; it's simply in their nature to have very different opinions on technology, tastes, and how their future should be thanks to their PersonalityPowers kicking in even after they've been removed. You can remove their powers but not their personalities.
** The reason why Acronix loves modern technology is because Krux has modern gadgets in his lair that he needed for their goal and instantly took a liking to technology. Is it any wonder why Krux was getting more annoyed with his little brother's obsession with technology? It's not only Krux's hatred for technology, but it's his fault for having those gadgets in his lair for Acronix to get into.
** Krux discouraging Acronix for loving technology makes sense since Krux wants to return Ninjago to pre-modern life but also rule Ninjago with Acronix. He probably doesn't want Acronix to get too attached to technology and be upset about no longer having access to what he loves after they have to go back into the past to change the future so Ninjago is free of technology.
*** Plus since Krux prefers a low-tech life but Ninjago has become too advanced for his liking, it's preventing him from having the life he misses. He's trying to prevent Acronix from missing technology after they return to the past. It's not just his hatred against modern-life talking but also experience.
* Acronix's favorite piece of technology being a Borg-Watch (a smartwatch) is understandable since he's a TimeMaster,(specifically, Forward and Slo-Mo). After all, watches tell time and Acronix had just discovered how amazing technology is, so what kind of accessory that not only makes sense for a TimeMaster (like a watch) who controls the Forward and Slo-Mo movement of Time while being something you like (modern technology)? A smart-watch!
** The same can be for Krux, the other TimeMaster, (specifically Reverse and Pause) who has a pocket watch. An appropriate accessory for a TimeMaster who controls the Reverse and Pause movement of Time and longs for a low-tech life.
* The colors for the Time Twins powers makes sense. Krux's are Pause and Reverse which are red and copper/yellow, some of the oldest colors used in human culture. Acronix's are Forward and Slo-Mo which are green and blue, rather new colors in comparison.
* At first it seems like a convenient plot hole for the Ninja to lose their Elemental Blades/powers between Seasons 2 and 3, but this may be because they weren’t meant to last no longer than The Final Battle. This also explains why the Ninja lack their Elemental Powers until halfway through Season 3. When they were at the Temple of Light so Lloyd could gain the Powers of the First Spinjitzu Master, the Ninja had to send their elemental powers to him. In Season 8 it’s implied that the previous Master of Ice gave Zane his powers through a similar method. Lloyd split what remained of his Golden Power to the Ninja during Season 3, so he basically gave ''back'' their power.
* It seems odd that Lloyd is the only one torn up over Garmadon's banishment, and later, death. Not even Wu and Misako, his brother and wife respectively, seem unaffected by it, and even the Ninja who had gotten close to Garmadon during the Tournament of Elements. FridgeBrilliance kicks in when you realize that Lloyd was the only one out of the Ninja who forged a deep connection with him, while the other Ninja saw him as a casual ally at best. As for Wu and Misako, both of them were forced to watch Garmadon actually go to the dark side as it happened, so it may be a subtle subversion of EasilyForgiven - just because they welcomed Garmadon back into the fold after he was purified of TheCorruption, doesn't mean they still don't harbor some bitterness over losing him to the darkness in the first place.
* Something had been bothering me since Season 8. If the First Spinjitzu Master was half-Oni and half-Dragon, then why does he have a human appearance? Then Season 9 reveals that Oni are shapeshifters (like when Mistaké turned into a rat). This explains the FSM's human-like appearance.
* In Once Bitten Twice Shy, Jay is cured of his fangpirism by his heartbeat increasing wildly. Not only was it the kiss from Nya, but also the fact they were on a roller coaster. The roller coaster sped up his heart and the kiss gave the final push needed.
* In season three we meet a Redeemed Garmadon who teaches the ninja the art of the silent fist, later we see his teachings are more straightforward and just tell the ninja the lesson bluntly. So why the misdirection for the art of silent fist? [[CameBackWrong Because he was worried his redemption would be undone easily]] so he made sure the ninja had something that could stop him if he ever became evil again!!!
* Yknow, for awhile, it always confused me that Energy was Lloyd's element. You'd think it would be Light, in contrast to the Overlord's darkness, but instead it's Mr. Pale's element and more associated with invisibility. But when you think about it, Energy makes perfect sense as one of the central elements, and Lloyd's element too. Energy is a part of life, used for just about everything, work, action, all sorts of parts of life, so it makes sense it's one of the central elements. Also, think about the Law of Conservation of Energy. Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only converted from one form of energy to another. And what is Lord Garmadon's primary element? Destruction. It lines up ''perfectly'' that the person set to stop Lord Garmadon is the one with the element that he cannot destroy.
* The choices for the Council of the Crystal King may initially seem random, until you think about it a bit more. All 5 members, along with both their leaders, are direct parallels/in some way related to the six Ninja.
** Pythor was Lloyd’s first enemy and had manipulated Lloyd in order to get the Fang Blades. And the Crystal King, aka the Overlord, is Lloyd’s personal nemesis and the one Lloyd was destined to defeat all the way back in Season 2.
** Aspheera had previously stolen Kai’s powers, thus both have wielded the element of fire. Aspheera was also part of the BigBadEnsemble in Kai’s third focus season.
** Both Zane and Mr. F are Nindroids, with the two having faced off before.
** While the two haven’t interacted, the Mechanic’s most major role was in ''Prime Empire'', Jay’s second focus season. On top of this, his debut was in ''Skybound'', Jay’s first focus season.
** The Skull Sorcerer is Cole’s ArchEnemy, as well as the ArcVillain of Cole’s only focus season, ''Master of the Mountain''.
** Harumi and Nya are both [[TheSmurfettePrinciple one of, if not the only females on their respective teams]], with them being part of the reason both their respective teams were even brought together.
* Early in Prime Empire there's a joke about Lloyd not knowing what a VCR is. This makes perfect sense, since mentally Lloyd's still a child and, if Ninjago's technological progression was anything like ours before Borg stepped onto the scene, was likely born long after [=VCRs=] fell out of fashion.
* At first the show's theme song, [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Il7y6VwDrrw the Weekend Whip]], seems to have nothing to do with the series aside from contains the word "Ninjago" in its lyrics. Then you realize the main chorus, "Jump Up, Kick Back, Whip Around, and Spin," are the actions required to preform Spinjitzu. It's probably best not to try it in real life, though.
* In season 9, when Mystake impersonates Harumi, Garmadon quickly becomes suspicious even before the real Harumi shows up. It's demonstrated that Mystake has to work to mimic the voice and mannerisms of someone, and while she did practice as Harumi, she didn't realize something: Harumi's demeanor is ''very different'' when interacting with Garmadon (her superior/surrogate father) versus anyone else (her subordinates or enemies). The real Harumi is always subordinate to Garmadon and takes full responsibility for her own or her underlings' failures, while Mystake attempts to use intimidation against Garmadon and Ultra Violet to turn him against her.
* According to Season 3, part of the reason Skales ''wanted'' to get the Great Devourer to drive the surface-dwellers underground was to protect them from the Golden Master. However, according to "Day of the Devourer", Skales thought releasing the Devourer was a bad idea. While one could argue it was because he knew Pythor's "release the Devourer" plan was made ForTheEvulz, Season 15, which reveals that the Devourer was brainwashed by the Overlord aka the Golden Master, this belief of Skales' could be put in a new light; since Skales is a Hypnobrai, brainwashing is his whole MO, so he probably could sense the Golden Master brainwashed the Devourer.

[[folder:Fridge Horror]]
* Pythor's been digested by the Great Devourer. And he has been stated to be the last of the Anacondrai. The Serpentine just lost one of their tribes.
** He got better.
*** That's questionable at best.
* It sure is a good thing Lloyd had a HeelFaceTurn BEFORE he discovered he was [[TheChosenOne the Green Ninja]]...[[EnfanteTerrible imagine what he'd be like]] [[CouldHaveBeenMessy otherwise.]]
** He would have ended up like his father.
* [[TearJerker Zane is going to outlive all the other ninjas.]]
** Unless he commits suicide or wipes his memories again...which wouldn't really be better, but still.
** As of Titanium Ninja... Well, HeroicSacrifice sounds nice, doesn't it?
*** Not nice enough, apparently. We're back at square one on the "outliving his friends" front.
* When the Ninjas enter a maze that give glimpses of their future selves as their reflections, Cole is unable to see his own reflection. Although at first, it seems like just a gag, but then Zane points out that ghosts have reflections - and presumably, a future, which makes it horrific to believe that Cole ''might not have a future''.
** Fortunately, this actually foreshadows Cole learning the ability to turn invisible, as explained in "Infamous".
** There's another possibility as brought up in "Day of the Departed" that the reason Cole didn't have a reflection and thus future was because his friends eventually ''forgot about him''!
* When you think about it, the DisproportionateRetribution the Serpentine got following the war. Yes, they were at war with humans, but that's still no excuse to literally round up EVERY MEMBER of the ENTIRE species, including the women and children, and then stuff them into claustrophobic tombs with limited food supplies for what they intended to be for ALL OF TIME. Even IF the Serpentine soldiers committed war crimes, it's still pretty monstrous to lock up the ENTIRE species indiscriminately for such an action- Case in point, when the Allied Forces won against Germany, they didn't go about placing EVERY German citizen and soldier, regardless of sex, age, and status into Concentration Camps or anything like that. Heck, even most of the Nazi soldiers were given light punishment for their involvement. This, and the fact that the humans used the power they had to actually perform such an action clearly illustrates WhatMeasureIsANonhuman.
** Even worse when one realizes that an entire FIFTH of the species was MURDERED in one stroke, essentially straight up GENOCIDE, through cannibalism inflicted on one another since they had no more food- which means that either the children starved, or else they ate the flesh of their own kind- assuming they weren't eaten themselves while alive. And they probably saw this happen to their PARENTS, too.
** Also, the fact that Arcturus and the Anacondrai generals are DIRECTLY banished to Hell - not executed humanely, but sent DIRECLTY to Hell.
* Nya kills the Preeminent, essentially destroying the Cursed Realm in the process, alongside HUNDREDS, if not more, Ghost Warriors. Not only does this kill the ghosts, it kills EVERYONE trapped in the Cursed Realm; the Anacondrai Cultists, Garmadon, and if Morro's boast over his master's power is any indication, the recently-devoured souls of Stiix citizens. It's also likely many other innocent souls have been banished there before (just like Garmadon had been), so they're dead. And with the destruction of the Cursed Realm comes the destruction of Djinjago, and every Djinn in existence save for Nadakhan; In other words, Nya's killed at least a thousand people in one fell swoop, and likely has the largest body count on her hands than any character in the entire SERIES.
* If Pythor devouring his tribe (including more than likely his own family members and several of the children) wasn't nightmarish enough, there's the fact that he has RECIPES for Serpentine. I repeat - RECIPES that he keeps on his personal being. The guy wasn't JUST a one-time cannibal; he's an ACTIVE one, a person who liked the taste of his own species so much that he made elaborate recipes for devouring his own kind! What's even worse is that, to make recipes, one needs to experiment a bit, meaning he likely ate multiple Serpentine just to make the recipes... and, again, the fact that he has them on his being and even made them in the first place indicates he WANTS to keep eating others; In other words, Pythor eats his own people as a HOBBY. This guy's basically Ninjago's Hannibal Lecter.
* Pythor casually labeling suicide as a spectacular exit. Even if he didn't really plan to kill himself and was faking it, the fact that he intended to fool Misako and Lloyd by stating it as such really makes you wonder about his mental state, alongside his aforementioned hobby of eating his own kind.
* And for one MORE Pythor thing, let's look at his casual logic for killing Lloyd; he aided in the death of someone, so he might as well finish the job by murdering his son (and likely wife, because he tried to kill her too) in cold blood. Pythor wouldn't just be satisfied with murdering you - he'd have to kill YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY, and feels OBLIGATED to do so.
* Season 6 reveals that with the death of the Preeminent, it has destabilized Djinjago as one of the other 16 realms of Ninjago. Khanjikhan couldn't do anything except watch his realm fall apart around him.
* Doubloon, an incredibly talkative human, being rendered mute by Nadakhan and given two inhuman, alternating faces. His own inability to even properly express and convey his horror at the change is pretty unnerving in itself, but even moreso when you consider that Nadakhan inflicted this on him without Doubloon directly wishing for it - indicating the Djinn has a lot more autonomy with inflicting horrifying fates on others than people would like to think.
* Cole fading. If the idea of dying was pretty horrible in itself, just the idea that you're fading from the memories of everyone else, becoming forgotten and non-existent in their lives, is specially terrifying, especially since Cole is fully aware this is what's happening. Also, the idea that the only reason Cole tried to kill Yang wasn't to save the world and become mortal again, but rather to straight up MURDER him - Cole was literally using his final moments to commit bloody revenge! Granted, it worked out in the end and his anger is justified, especially as Yang deserved retribution for his crimes, but it's still a bit unnerving to realize one of our good-hearted protagonists is going on a quest to KILL a helpless enemy who's no longer a threat, and believes him to be one, too.
* It is ''disturbingly'' common for a villain to be able to force the heroes to fight their loved ones. And if that isn't bad enough, at least once the possessed person (Lloyd) was not only aware the entire time but able to ''cry for help''. Help that couldn't be given.
* At one point, Lloyd's mother muses that she should have chosen Master Wu instead of Garmodon. Not only is this sad because Garmodon didn't ask for the reason she's reconsidering her choice since he was forced into evil, hating every second of it but in a roundabout way, she's wishing ''Lloyd had never been born'' because the person he became, for good or ill, was because who his father was and if Wu had been his father, it's entirely probable that there would be nothing of the Lloyd we know and love in the child who would have resulted.
* The Dragon Hunters successfully caught and killed the Ultra Dragon [[KilledOffscreen offscreen]] in between Seasons 2 and 9, the Ultra Dragon was established, since it's debut as separate dragons, as a very powerful creature, so the fact that the Hunters killed it comes off as a disturbing omen for what may happen to the rest of the dragons they've enslaved. It's no wonder Kai immediately developed a hatred for their leader at first sight, even if he didn't realize the bones belonged to the Ultra Dragon.
* If the Oni are taking over all realms what is going to happen to Chima.
** Thankfully in Season 12 it is shown that Chima is fine.
* Zane was stuck in the Never-Realm as the Ice Emperor for '''nearly 60 years'''. Other than genocide of Formlings and Yetis, ''what other atrocities he could've had commited in that time?''
* Considering Lloyd used to hold a grudge against his mother for abandoning him and that he was raised at an evil school for boys only, his reasons for putting the "No Girls Allowed" sign at his fortress might be more serious than a typical "Girls have cooties." phase. Luckily, whatever it was it's gone now.
* The Keepers may have very likely been killed by Wojira. The water level rose high enough to flood their island, and none of them are seen after it's gone...
** They are seen in Crystalized.
* In relation to Wojira's flood, keep in mind that it's been shown that NoEndorHolocaust is very much averted as seen with the Great Devourer's attack. If a giant snake rampaging through Ninjago City caused several deaths, then how much damage did Wojira cause to the city and population? While we saw the Ninja rescuing people, there's no guarantee that ''everyone'' was rescued considering the massive flood in place.
* Since Jay and Nya are presumably the only ones to remember the events of ''Skybound'' (well, maybe not anymore, considering it has its own mural now). Which means they know that Soto, Flintlocke and Dogshank lost their chance for redemption, Echo Zane is still stuck in that lighthouse, Lloyd was pretty close to dying, and Nya may even remember her own death, yet they choose not to speak to the others of it all. Imagine how it feels for them...
* The ninja managed to steal Aspheera's staff thanks to Cyrus Borg telling them its location, but they ended up becoming fugitives by doing it. Borg is probably [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone blaming himself]] for what had happened...In fact, who's to say that his role in the theft wasn't discovered and Cyrus himself wasn't put on trial?
** Well, at least we know that the "Borg on trial" part didn't happen.
* In Season 15, the five ninja are placed in a single cell together, while Pythor seems to be all alone in his. Now keep in mind that Season 1 shows Pythor isn't above eating people alive...
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Fridge Logic]]
* How exactly did Lord Garmadon have a son? He became evil when he was a child, and Lloyd looks like he's about eight, and who exactly would be willing to have a child with the lord of all evil? For that matter, if he's apparently older than Sensei Wu, who looks like he's ancient, how would that even be ''biologically possible''?
** To make things even more confusing, Lord Garmadon was trapped in the underworld for several decades, judging by Sensei Wu's own age. How did he get back to the world of Ninjago to have a child in the first place when he was stuck in another dimension?
** Maybe Lloyd wasn't born in the traditional sense and was created by magic or something.
*** Yeah, that makes much more sense considering Lord Garmadon is actually a living corpse and his [[http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mb3a92136r1rgrkezo1_250.png apparent mother is only a bit younger than Sensei Wu]]...
*** Perhaps the magic that made Lord Garmadon evil slowed Lloyd's aging, meaning Lloyd's later aging was (even if partially) making up for that.
** Season 4 shows flashbacks of a handsome and human young Garmadon in the beginning of a relationship with an equally young Misako. The one thing we know about the Ninjago timeline is that it is ''seriously'' screwed up.
*** I'm gonna guess that magic aged Garmadon and possibly Wu and Misako; it's just that it was the kind of aging that primarily affected their appearance but left them physically as capable as ever.
*** This is a long shot, and has its own share of unanswerable questions, but regardless... I believe [[WordOfGod Word of God]] states that an elemental master ages slowly until passing their element to a descendant. Perhaps Lloyd was born all those decades ago, allowing the First Spinjitzu Master to age to what he would have been naturally (like, 1000 years,) and eventually pass away. That would mean that Lloyd's birth indirectly caused Garmadon's betrayal and banishment. It would also mean Lloyd was likely abandoned and bullied at Darkley's for decades (until eventually being kicked out, perhaps by the children that he once called classmates) Suddenly, Misako's introduction scene [[TearJerker becomes that much more heartbreaking.]]
** Season 7 states that the Serpentine Wars took place 40 years before the Season. Assuming Lloyd was somewhere between 10 and 15 when he first appeared, that would mean Garmadon and Misako married and had him about 20 years before Season 7.
* At the end of Episode 4 "Weapons of Destiny", one of the ninjas suggested a High Five. Given what LEGO people have for hands, what's a High Five for them?
** Various bits of dialogue on the show seem to indicate that Ninjago characters, unlike Lego Movie characters, are not actually minifigures.
* In "Fire Maker," Sorla insists that the tribe cannot leave to escape the Blizzard Samurai, because it would risk extinguishing their only fire and they couldn't survive without it. But just one episode earlier, Sorla was the one who said they were going to have to relocate the tribe soon because the temperature was dropping too low. So, which is it? Can you move the fire or not? Granted, moving the fire would be more dangerous during a battle, but she doesn't bring that up. She just says moving the fire is not an option, period.
* If [[OurGhostsAreDifferent water kills ghosts]] in this universe, how come ice doesn't?
** Because ice is solid and water is liquid; Sensei Wu literally did a whole piece of exposition about how ghosts can pass through solid objects but are helpless against something without a set form.
* Tox and Paleman from the Tournament of Elements are villains from the Ultra Agents universe. If two of the top criminals from Aster City are in Ninjago then why didn’t the agents dispatch to find them? Is it because they are from another realm and found a way through without aid of the Realm Crystal?
** Ninjago and Ultra Agents seemingly take place in different universes, so Tox and Paleman are likely just Ninjago counterparts of Toxicita and Invizable, who look similar but have different backstories.
