* To Zoltan Karpathy, Eliza appears as Hungarian, as her language is quite refined. It is likely that he recognised a resemblance to his own manner of speaking and made his deduction from the fact of his own being Hungarian. However, the similarity might rather originate from both of them having been taught by Henry Higgins.
* Higgin's dislike towards Karpathy may also because the latter uses his former mentor's teachings to suck up to the high class, including Higgins. While Higgins does not tolerate being disrespected, it's clear that he dislikes people sucking up to him even more. It's why he prefers being around Eliza, who, even after passing her education, still stands up to him, as he lampshades in his comment to her:
-->'''Higgins''': Months ago you were a millstone around my neck, and now you're a tower of strength. A consort battleship. I like you this way.
* Why does Eliza fail so badly at Ascot?
** Henry explicitly spends as little time with women of his own class as possible, and seems to have been focusing almost solely on elocution, meaning Eliza didn’t learn any etiquette, much less female-specific etiquette. By contrast, by the time the Embassy Ball rolls around, she's had time to become friends with ''Mrs.'' Higgins, which is why she does much better.
** [[TheBlindLeadingTheBlind Henry doesn't have very good manners himself;]] his own mother is ashamed to have him around socially. Pickering's manners are significantly better, but it was Higgins who Eliza was interacting with most of the time.

* In ''Theatre/MyFairLady'', it is 1912, and Freddy is a soldier... who may be sent off to war. Fridge DeathOfTheHypotenuse, anyone?
** Freddy is a gentleman and as such, he could easily buy a commission (depending on how rich his family is) and sit out the war behind a desk.
*** A gentleman, but a cash-poor one, per Shaw. He'd probably get a commission but have little say in where they sent him. That said, if he proved less than capable in training, they would probably put him somewhere he wouldn't cause much damage.
** Upper classes who served in World War I did not get off lightly. About 17% of the British Army's officers were killed in the war. About 20% of the former Etonians who served did not survive.

* The main page entry for AdaptationInducedPlotHole asks how Eliza knew where Mrs. Higgins lived if the scene of her visiting Mrs. Higgins' home in the original play was changed to Ascot. Except she was in the cab with Freddy; if he was in the same box with her at Ascot, he'd likely know where she lives.
