* Of course Dogbert's cynical, the Greek word Kynikos (that cynical is derived from) means dog-like.
* I spent a lot of time scratching my head over the evolution joke in the animated series. An endorsement of Creationism seemed downright bizarre on a show that had mocked religion more than once. The fact that the joke was based around the premise that Evolution was "only a theory" on a show this smart seemed jaw-dropping. Then it hit me: Dilbert couldn't explain WHY it was called a "theory." The joke was that being right about something you don't understand is no better than being wrong.
** [[WordOfGod Scott Adams]] believes (or [[{{Troll}} claims to believe]]) that Evolution will be scientifically proven untrue by the end of the 21st century because it relies on the basic assumptions that effect always follows cause and time always moves in a straight line, both of which he believes will themselves eventually be widely understood to be untrue. That could factor into it.

* In the animated adaptation, not one plot makes any coherent sense even in context, nor is it intended to.
