''Tom and Huck'' is an Adventure film that was released by Creator/{{Disney}} in 1995. It is based on Creator/MarkTwain's novel ''Literature/TheAdventuresOfTomSawyer''.

The film followed Tom Sawyer (Creator/JonathanTaylorThomas) and his best friend Huckleberry Finn (Creator/BradRenfro), who witness the murder of the town doctor by Injun Joe (Creator/EricSchweig). To make matters worse, Muff Potter (Creator/MikeMcShane), the town drunk is accused of the murder, but only Tom knows that he's innocent, but Huck does not want to reveal the truth, stating an oath that if either of them confessed about who really did it, then they would drop dead to the ground and rot. Made even worse when their attempt to prove Muff's innocence by trying to acquire a treasure map from Injun Joe proves most ruinous for them and those around them.

Tom and Huck go through several adventures trying to retrieve evidence and clear Muff's name.

!!This film provides examples of the following tropes:

* ActorAllusion: Tom Sawyer is seen doing a little ''Series/HomeImprovement'' by painting a fence in one scene. Also, Courtney Peldon (who'd later appear in ''Home Improvement'' as JTT's love interest Laura) cameos as one of the townsfolk.
* TheAlcoholic: Muff Potter
* BigDamnHeroes: Huck gets one during the climax, to save Tom from Injun Joe.
* BigNo: Injun Joe gives one when he sees Tom taunting him with the [[spoiler: emptied]] treasure chest.
* BrattyHalfPint: Sid, Tom's cousin
* ClearTheirName: This was Tom's intention to prove Muff's innocence.
* CowardlySidekick: Emmett, as seen during the part where he and Joe are in the old house, while Tom and Huck are trying to acquire the map from Injun Joe. The biggest pointer is that he thought that Joe's hat was a ghost, because it had been snagged by the hook and rope that Tom and Huck were using and gave it the impression that it was floating like a ghost.
* DiesDifferentlyInAdaptation: [[spoiler:Instead of starving, Injun Joe falls into a ravine.]]
* DisneyVillainDeath: [[spoiler:Injun Joe, when he falls into the chasm in the climax of the film.]]
* FireForgedFriends: Both Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.
* GivingThemTheStrip: [[spoiler: Injun Joe nearly drags Tom down into the cavern abyss with him, but Tom's shirt rips and Joe plummets to a DisneyVillainDeath with the torn-off sleeve in his hand.]]
* TheHyena: Emmett, Injun Joe's crony.
* IllTimedSneeze: Tom accidentally sneezes while trying to take the map from a sleeping Injun Joe, waking him up. They barely manage to hide before Joe can spot them.
-->'''Huck''': Ya had to sneeze, didn't ya?
* KickTheDog: [[spoiler:Injun Joe accuses his crony Emmett for attempting to claim the treasure for himself and tosses his dagger into Emmett's back, killing him.]]
* MaliciousMisnaming: Injun Joe keeps calling Huck "Blueberry".
* MuckingInTheMud: Both Tom and Huck cover themselves up with mud to disguise themselves in the first attempt to get the map from Injun Joe.
* NameAndName
* SlapSlapKiss[=/=]WellExcuseMePrincess: This was the relationship between Tom and Becky.
* SpidersAreScary: Tom puts a jar containing a tarantula on Sid's chest while he was in bed with a cloth in his mouth, as a threat to keep Sid from telling Aunt Polly that he was running away from home.
* WhatTheHellHero: Huck gives one of these to Tom, after Tom confessed to the court about Injun Joe being the true murderer of Doc Robinson. Unusually for this trope, it's Huck who is actually in the wrong here, as Tom not doing what he did would have meant sending an innocent man to his death.
