!Tropes for the film:
* DragQueen: The titular character's friends. They, the eponymous girls themselves, are more like [[SweetPollyOliver Sweet Polly Olivers]]...kinda.
* GayBarReveal: Carla and Connie discover they're in a gay bar only after seeing two men they wanted to hit on kiss.
* GenderNormativeParentPlot: Played straight, except it's his brother trying to come to grips with it.
* NameAndName: '''Carla and Connie'''.
* RecursiveCrossdressing: The main concept. The two ladies, a performing duo, witness a murder and go into hiding by pretending to be drag queens.
* SweetPollyOliver: The two women witness a murder, so they go into hiding by disguising themselves as [[DragQueen Drag Queens]] (a spoof of ''Film/SomeLikeItHot'' where two jazz musicians who witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre go into hiding by joining an all-women's jazz band). In other words, they dressed up as men who dress up as women.
