In the aftermath of the previous film, the children of Gatlin are relocated by the authorities to the neighboring town of Hemingford. Not long after, He Who Walks Behind The Rows finds a new host in Micah, who, with the rest of the children of Gatlin, proceed to repeat what they did to the adults last time. The only ones standing in their way are local reporter John Garrett, his son Danny, a local Gatlin girl named Lacey, the owner of a local bed-and-breakfast named Angela and state university professor Dr. Frank Red Bear.

!!This film has the examples of:

* AmbiguousEnding: The evil is defeated but it is hinted that it is not entirely gone as evidenced by the sequels.
* BigBad: Micah becomes the DarkMessiah leader of the remaining children of Gatlin in Isaac's absence.
* ContinuityNod: Isaac is mentioned, as well as Burt and Vicky, although not by name.
* CreepyChild: The relocated children start once again acting murderously soon under Micah's command.
* DemonicPossession: Is is implied that Micah is under the direct influence He Who Walks Behind The Rows, who seems to leave him as he dies.
* DestinationDefenestration: The children take over Mrs. West's electronic wheelchair with a RC controller and force it in the middle of road, where it is hit by a truck which sends it flying through the window of the local Bingo hall.
* DoingInTheWizard: Why are children acting strangely and people keep seeing weird things around the cornfields? Because the corn itself is contaminated, which is covered up by local authorities due to all the money that is tied into it.
* TheDragon: Mordecai acts as one to Micah.
* EyeScream: In addition to making him bleed out of everywhere else on his face, Micah makes a man's eyeballs burst into gore at church using a voodoo doll.
* HeroicSacrifice: Dr Red Bear gives his life to defeat the villain and save the rest of the heroes but we see he lives on in the afterlife.
* HumanSacrifice: Danny's intitiation to the cult involves sacrificing Angela and Lacey to He Who Walks Behind The Rows.
* ImmediateSequel: The film starts in the aftermath of the last film, with proper authorities searching the premises.
* ImpromptuTracheotomy: Bobby is killed when a cornstalk flies through his van's windshield, impaling his throat.
* IntrepidReporter: John was supposed to only write about Gatlin and its child-cult, but starts investigating it himelf.
* KillItWithFire: The children trap several adults inside a building while holding a town hall meeting, and set it on fire.
* LostInTheMaize: Bobbie and his cameraman become lost among the cornfields, and are killed.
* LuridTalesOfDoom: John is currently employed by a magazine that publishes sensationalist stories.
* MagicalNativeAmerican: Both played straight and subverted, with Dr. Red Bear. He mocks Garrett's assumption of Native American intuitive knowledge of events but is key in defeating the evil entity 'He who walks behind the rows'. Even though he dies doing so we see at the end that his spirit lives on after death, giving a hopeful conclusion to the events of all the 'Children of the Corn' films, that the evil is defeatable and those who have died in the series live on in the afterlife.
* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: According to Redbear, children killing all the adults has happened before in distant past, suggesting that it's not only the contaminated corn causing everything. In the end, it is left ambiguous what's real cause for everything, at least until the sequel.
* NotQuiteDead: After he is seemingly killed, Redbear springs back to life long enough to doom Micah to his fate.
* NumberedSequels
* OminousLatinChanting: Used when Micah is seemingly taken over by He Who Walks Behind The Rows.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Sheriff Blaine is one of the folks who still think that "only good Indian is a dead Indian".
* PsychicNosebleed: Micah seemingly causes David bleed profusely from the face, which starts as a slight nosebleed.
* SlashedThroat: One victim gets his throat slit by cornleaves.
* ShoutOut: A twofer for Film/TheWizardOfOz; Mrs. Burke is crushed under a house, and her last words are "What a world, what a world...."
** When Mrs. West shows up, she asks, "Who killed my sister?"
** Not to mention the two sisters' names: Mrs. "West" (as in The Wicked Witch of) and Mrs. "Burke" (Billie Burke played Glinda the Good Witch).
