WMG: Authors and Websites

Kish's Kittie
* Recommended By @/MarthVader
* Pairings: Primarily Quiche/Ichigo, but other pairings make appearances
* An amazing (and amazingly versatile) author, she's the rare FanPreferredCouple shipper in this fandom who doesn't feel the need to bash Masaya to get her preferred couple together. She usually writes fluffy romance, but has dipped into tragedy, straight comedy, and even AU. Her mechanics, at least in her more recent fics, are great, too.

Tomoyo Kinomoto
* Recommended By @/MarthVader
* Her best stuff, in my opinion, are her dark [=AUs=] (yes, it's possible there's a trend here), but her poetry also shows the basic understanding of rhythm that so many fan authors lack, and is some of the most readable fan poetry I've ever seen.

sakuuya
* Recommended By @/MarthVader
** Seconded by @/CelestialPuppet.
* All of her recent stuff is bizarre, dark, and frequently AU, and before that she wrote silly (but poorly-written) badfic parodies. Her stuff is just so weird that it's worth a look, even if the idea of, for instance, a Manga/TokyoMewMew Western doesn't interest you.

Cherrie-Sakura
* Recommended By @/MarthVader
* Pairings: Ryou/Ichigo
* She's best-known for her epic Mew Academy (see below), but aside from a proven talent for juggling LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters, she normally writes R/I fluff. Her heavily-descriptive style can be a turn-off, but it also means she's great at establishing moods and building settings.

[[WMG:General Fics]]
Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.

Tomorrow's Solace by Ellana (a.k.a. Ryou Shirogane, Mew Cherry)
* Recommended by @/Jisu
* Status: Dead
* Pairings: Masaya/Ichigo, Berii/Tasuku, Zakuro/Minto
* Synopsis: A hobo arrives at the cafe with an eye on the Mew Mews, the government discovers their identity and puts the pressure on Ryou, and the aliens come back to warn the team about an insurgent group that's aiming for something in a South American ruin.
* Comments: In progress. An extremely rare well-done OfficialCouple fic -- by a FanPreferredCouple fan!
** It hasn't been updated since December 2008.
* Warning: Sequelitis Tokyo Mew Mew a la mode, usually in CanonDisContinuity, is treated here as equal to the rest of the canon. Berii is a regular member of the cast, but not to fear; her CanonSue-ness is severely toned down.

Trapped in the Fandom Net by Celestial Moonlight Blade
* Recommended by [=GeminiSparkSP=]
* Status: Complete
* Synopsis: During a thunderstorm, Ryou's computer malfunctions and Tokyo Mew Mew is cast into the Fandom net! When running from a Soulless, they encounter someone who takes them to a certain person's profile. They have no idea what they're in for.
* Comments: At first, it seems like the typical OhCrapThereAreFanficsOfUs story, until the author starts breaking the fourth wall. From there, the entire cast, plus a few gatekeepers must defend the entire world of fandom from a fallen OriginalCharacter, evil plot bunnies, and mary sues.

Sacrifices by Dasz (Dark, AU)
* Recommended by @/MarthVader
* Status: Dead
* Pairing(s): Retasu/Pie/Zakuro, Deep Blue/Ichigo/Quiche
* Synopsis: The Mews in a Star Wars-style space opera, though both TheEmpire and LaResistance are more morally suspect than that comparison (or, indeed, Manga/TokyoMewMew itself) would suggest. Mainly follows Retasu, now a ruthless servant of Deep Blue after some unknown tragedy, as she tries to destroy Pie, an alien rebel with whom she has a history, and Quiche, who has been locked up for years and escapes only to find that Deep Blue has turned Ichigo into a smiling vegetable. Like I said, dark.
* Comments: Dead. Also, despite the wild AU-ness of the premise, it treats the canon as its backstory, for some reason.

Severance by sakuuya (Dark, AU, OC-centric)
* Recommended by @/MarthVader
* Status: Complete
* Synopsis: Five very different girls are chosen to save the world. Which would be all well and good, except that the various rivalries and animosities within the group threaten to tear it apart. And as a new evil, one capable of killing all of Tokyo's vegetation, rises, a fractured group of Mews may not be able to save the world.
* Comments: Unfinished. A fairly blatant homage to Literature/SailorNothing (which the author acknowledges as her inspiration) right down to the shifting [=PoVs=]. It's not a deconstruction of the genre itself the way SN was, but more of a deconstruction of ThePowerOfFriendship. And the author has hinted that there's no way to EarnYourHappyEnding here. The canon Mews don't exist, but Ryou, Keiichirou and the aliens do.

Mew Academy by Cherrie-Sakura (OC-centric)
* Recommended by @/MarthVader and Medusasnake
* Status: On hiatus
* Synopsis: Akane, an ordinary Japanese girl, is enrolled in Mew Academy, a school specifically for Mews, run by the (now-adult) canon characters. The problem? Akane is actually an ordinary Japanese girl, and not a Mew at all. A mix of slice-of-life high school drama and more traditional action/suspense fic.
* Comments: Unfinished. The sheer scope of this undertaking blows my mind. MA, aside from the faculty, is populated entirely by submitted original characters, and is already novel-length despite having gone through, so far, about a week's worth of in-story time. It's also worth noting that this is one of the few high school fics I've ever read that actually feels like it takes place in a school; as much attention is paid to classes as to after-school hijinks.

[[WMG:Shipping Shipping Fics]]
Stories focused on the romantic relationships between the cast.

* Canon here is defined as Masaya/Ichigo, Zakuro/Minto, Bu-ling/Tart, Ryou/Retasu, Pie/Retasu and Tasuku/Berii, as well as one-sided Quiche/Ichigo (the one side being Quiche).

Because of Her and Also Because of Her by Sin Katt
* Recommended by @/MarthVader
* Status: Complete
* Pairing(s): Masaya/Ichigo and onesided Quiche/Ichigo, respectively.
* Synopsis: Two one-shots with the same premise: A Manga/TokyoMewMew guy reminisces about how Ichigo Momomiya changed his life. The first one is from Masaya's [=PoV=]; its companion is from Quiche's.
* Comments: Makes a good case for both guys without distorting their characters. If the author hadn't flat-out stated which couple she prefers, I would not have been able to guess from reading the stories.

Change by SeEmYaWeSoMeNeSs.
* Recommended by CelestialPuppet
* Status: Complete
* Pairing(s): Pai/Retasu; Purin/Taruto. Strongly hinted one-sided Kisshu/Ichigo.
* Synopsis: Lettuce visits the alien world years after the war is over. Without any reason to fight, Pai proves to be a bit different than how he had once been perceived. "He's quite fond of you." PaiLettuce.
* Comments: I'm one of those people that'll read whatever comes up on the page out of mild curiosity. I expected the rather cliche meet and proclaiming of love throwing the entire canon out the window. However, what I got was a very open ended oneshot with an original character in the beginning who wasn't (seemingly) a self-insert. Also, Lettuce had a genuine lapse of fear when Pai mentioned fighting and the fact she's no longer a mew unless Tokyo is in danger. There were some awkward places and a few typos but overall it was in-character and a nice read.

Super Ichigo Galaxy by Bomberdrawer on deviantART
* Recommended by: PencilDJ12
* Vanished from the internet. Please post a link if found.
* Synopsis: This is a fan comic/manga loosely based on the story of Super Mario Galaxy, but with the characters from Tokyo Mew Mew! :D The plot: Masaya sends his crush Ichigo a letter to spend the Strawberry Festival with him, but unfortunately, three aliens known as Quiche, Pie, and Tart have other plans. They arrive on Earth to steal the Mew Aqua Stars, and when Masaya tries to protect Ichigo from them, he annoys them to the point of kidnapping him! Ichigo is determined to rescue him, but she'll need help. But where can she find help in outer space?
* Pairing(s): Masaya/Ichigo

* Popular pairings that contradict canon. Includes Ryou/Ichigo, Quiche/Ichigo and Pie/Zakuro.

Kitty's Got a Leash by Kish's Kittie
* Recommended by @/MarthVader
* Status: Complete
* Pairing(s): Quiche/Ichigo
* Synopsis: Quiche gets an Manga/InuYasha-style magic collar that means Ichigo has to follow his every command.
* Comments: It's not as cracky as the premise would suggest, and Masaya is given a lot of respect. There's too much GratuitousJapanese for my taste, and the author was very young when she wrote it, which means that there are more typos than in her later work, but it's still the best example I've ever seen of the "Quiche uses supernatural means to seduce Ichigo" sub-genre.

Nice Guys Are Boring by [=tgwWhale=]
* Recommended by [=GeminiSparkSP=]
* Status: Complete
* Pairings: Ichigo/Masaya, Ichigo/Ryou, Ichigo/Kish, Lettuce/Masaya
* Synopsis: Ichigo and Aoyama, on the rocks yet again - an old guy's take on the favorite theme for all these fanfics.
* Comments: A great Deconstruction of Masaya-bashing and the FanPreferredCouple trope, especially Ichigo/Kish.

* Should be self-explanatory, even if you happen to think Ryou/Bu-ling is a great idea.
