The Smash Freshmen is a fanfic based on the production process of ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros Wii U/3DS''. It was written by prastarkeepers and is posted on deviantart.com and fanfiction.net. The fic stars Villager, Mega Man AKA Rock, and the Wii Fit Trainer [[spoiler:AKA Jazz]], the three newcomers of the game, as they are welcomed and integrated into the Fourth Annual Super Smash Brothers Tournament. As they train, they are acquainted with numerous faces from Super Smash Bros. and Nintendo as a whole. Meanwhile, Bowser and other villains are working behind the scenes on a scheme to take over the tournament [[spoiler: with a dark smash ball made from a shard of Tabuu's wings]]. The situation is further complicated when a string of mysterious attacks leads Mario, Link, and Kirby to leave the Smash Grounds to investigate.
