The Neo-Domino Purge is a ''Anime/YuGiOh5Ds'' fanfic that follows an alternate continuity from episode 8 of the anime onwards. Desperate to uncover the Signers lurking on both sides of the Neo-Domino/Satellite divide, Rex Godwin creates a conflict between the two under the pretense of their way of life being threatened. Essentially the fanfic boils down to taking the TraumaCongaLine already set up in 5D's and [[UpToEleven turning it up to eleven]]. The fanfic is written by [=CuteYami=] apparently with someone else working on the story and duel planning. It can be found [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4568291/1/Neo_Domino_Purge_The/ here]]

The story itself has developed its own AlternativeContinuity, which continues from the end of the first Season, [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6696214/1/Neo_Domino_Purge_The_Path_Two taking place immediately after the Security Arc.]]

* ForcedToWatch: Godwin leaves Yusei in the Detention Centre with a device to broadcast the attack on Satellite. Even when he ignores it, it plays automatically so that he can't even escape the audio.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: There are a few instances: Carly's photograph of Jack gives the illusion he's riding downhill, a sign that his luck is about to take a turn for the worst. Yusei also hears someone yelling his name at the end of his duel with Takasu; just over 20 chapters later, he meets with Kiryu, someone else whose death Yusei is responsible for, and it was his voice.
* FourEyesZeroSoul: Kinomiya, more so than in the anime.
* GambitRoulette: [[spoiler: Godwin's plan is to uncover the Signers quickly and force the Dark Signers to show themselves. All this involves starting a that is MOSTLY bloodless whilst pretending to the public in Neo-Domino that it is for their security and to the higher-ups that he is [[ForScience trying to push the limits of Momentum]]. He has to pray the situation doesn't get even more out of hand all the while.]]
* GetAHoldOfYourselfMan: Jack deals this to Yusei, not unlike the anime's take on the situation.

* GreatOffscreenWar: Over time, [[ArtifactTitle the battle between Neo-Domino and Satellite forces itself has taken a back seat]] to the Signer plot.

** In the same chapter, Misty doesn't have the time to finish off Aki, but has Ccarayhua attack the Arcadia Movement just to damage it further.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler: Takasu and Judge.]]
* LaResistance: Rally, Crow and the others try this out. It doesn't go well.

** Kiryu himself doesn't disappoint and combines it with a SlasherSmile.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: Divine appears to be one for Aki. When he's arrested by Security, she becomes even more of an Ice Queen. On the other hand, when [[spoiler: he's sacrificed by the Earthbound Gods]], she is left an emotional wreck and thrown into ShrinkingViolet territory. Naoko seems to take up the role in at this point.

* NooneCouldSurviveThat: Divine thinks this after he [[spoiler: shoves Rua out of a window ala Carly in the canon]].
* NoOneGetsLeftBehind: Averted with the Detention Centre break-out.
** The mindset, however, is in place during the Security arc.
** Naoko goes back into the Arcadia Movement while the Dark Signers are attacking to get Aki. [[spoiler: Ironically, in spite of her efforts, they're the only ones to walk away after the attack.]]
* NukeEm: Judge's plan. Only he doesn't get to carry it out.

* ScheduleSlip: There have been instances of 3/4 months passing without an update.
** There was almost six months between Chapters 32 and 33, due to a combination of being an [[OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent Ordinary University Student]] and CreatorBreakdown in the form of the author suffering from depression.
* ScrewDestiny: Jack's argument to Kinomiya's claims that he'll inevitably become a shadow of his former self and corrupted.
-->'''Jack''': I don't give a [[PrecisionFStrike fuck]] what your version of destiny says; I'll pave the way for my own life!
* SeasonFinale: Chapter 24

* TheseHandsHaveKilled: Yuusei hallucinates at the end of Chapter 7, thinking he has [[spoiler: Takasu's blood]] all over him, and even his cards.
* TheUnreveal: Although it was only hinted at very subtly, [[spoiler: Juri being Judge's son]] gets far more of an in-story reaction than it deserved.

* ThwartedEscape: While Yanagi, Himuro and Aoyama get out the Detention Centre, Yusei gets cornered and captured by Godwin.
* ThereAreNoTherapists: And when there are, [[PsychoPsychologist you don't want to meet them...]]
* TimeForPlanB: Chapter 17 suggests that the attack on Satellite is Plan B and the Fortune Cup, Plan A, was too slow for Godwin to care anymore.

* TrueCompanions: It's 5D's, need I say more?

Chapter 13: [[spoiler: Judge's plan to nuke Satellite and defeat shortly after his bomb is deactivated, leading to his death, again, down to Yusei.]] Chapter 15: [[spoiler: Ushio dies in the aftermath of his duel with Jack.]] Chapters 23/24: First SeasonFinale sees Yusei against [[spoiler: Juri, out for revenge over his father's death]] and reveals the existence of the Dark Signers as well as Yusei's final move [[CombinationAttack combining the power of Stardust and Red Demons.]]
** Chapter 34 has the biggest impact by the appearance of [[spoiler: Dark Signer Ushio.]]

!![[TheRemake Path Two]] provides examples of:
* AFriendInNeed: Yusei in Chapter 27.
* BerserkButton: Mukuro unintentionally learns not to casually wish Jack's friends dead when Jack retaliates with some UnstoppableRage. It doesn't really help the fact that Jack [[ItsAllMyFault has been blaming himself over the Highway incident.]]

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Rua, much more than the original version of the fic.

* BigGuyLittleGuy: Wear and Tyne are introduced as a duo, with this as one major feature that's pointed out.
* BridalCarry / PietaPlagiarism: Kazama carries a gravely injured Yusei to the hospital in this style.

* {{Doorstopper}}: 94,000 words from just 6 chapters. [[ForegoneConclusion It's clear where this is going.]]
* EarlyBirdCameo: Cards from Season 3, and even the Ark Cradle episodes, appear in early chapters of the Dark Signer arc.
** Minor characters from the latter half of the series, namely Kazama and Tetsuzo, make appearances just as early.
* ForScience: The senators vote to continue the purge with the sole motive of trying to increase the levels of momentum.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: The end of Chapter 28 is filled with hints at Misty's secret status as a Dark Signer, including the hotel name, ''[[GratuitousFrench Grace Crépuscule]]'', which acts as an attempt of BilingualBonus.
* HeroicBSOD: Like ''Path One'', Yusei doesn't handle Kiryu being a Dark Signer well.

* KickTheDog: Senator Wilhelmina Magenta made Aki's time at Duel Academy hell and made sure she was kicked out, just because of her PsychicPowers.

* TheMole: Julian in the Arcadia Movement. Divine is immediately suspicious.
