The Infinite Loops, also known as the Innortal-style Time Loops, are an ever-expanding genre of Time Loop fanfics.

The premise is that [[ExcusePlot something]] has happened to [[AhMyGoddess Yggdrasil]], the World Tree computer that contains and runs the multiverse. As a result, the various universes have been put in 'safe mode', [[GroundhogDayLoop time-looping]] until Yggdrasil can be repaired. Each universe's loop is maintained by the presence of an Anchor, a core person from that loop who is the first to notice their universe is looping. There is always an Anchor in a Loop.

As repairs to Yggdrasil continue, more people in each universe begin Looping as well, but are not necessarily aware participants in every Loop; only the Anchor is so blessed..or cursed. Your mileage may vary. Characters that are aware of the Loops and retain memories of their previous go-arounds are termed "Awake".

In addition, Fused Loops allow Loopers from different universes to interact. As a given, Loopers are tremendously stir-crazy due to the loops. [[HilarityEnsues Hilarity usually ensues.]]

----
!! ''The Infinite Loops'' provide examples of:

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder: In General]]
* AdultFear: The admins in charge of the system explicitly render loopers unable to have children they would not have had in a normal timeline, since the child would cease to exist the moment a loop ended. The agony of losing said child left [[spoiler:Ranma]] in tears.
* AnachronicOrder: There's no guarantee that a given snippet comes after the one before it or before the ones after it.
* AnachronismStew: Loopers will sometimes swipe things from other loops to use later... no matter what technology base their home loop has.
* ApocalypseHow: Actions that result in Eiken Loops or extremely messed-up Loops often fall somewhere in here. In addition, the Loops themselves are a last-ditch effort by the gods that run reality to stave off the absolute highest level of this.
* BeyondTheImpossible: Yggdrasil is like a computer and if loopers force it to do things that its not programed for or doesn't have the capacity to perform, the result is an error. Errors mean more work for admins and Eiken loops for loopers.
* BroadStrokes: The general viewpoint on Innortal canon.
* CantTakeAnythingWithYou: Unless it's soul-bonded to you[[note]]Usually restricted to powerful magical artifacts[[/note]] or you put it in your [[{{Hammerspace}} subspace pocket.]]
* TheChosenOne: The Anchors of each universe, chosen to keep the universe stabilized.
** TheChosenMany: Loopers in general.
* ContinuityDrift: In universe, the loops can sometimes have certain details vary between them.
* CrapsackWorld: Not only are examples of these settings caught up in the loops, some realities are labeled as Quarantined either because they are filled with malicious malware and viruses, manifesting as a [[MindRape mind raping]] EldritchAbomination to Loopers, or because there are things in their baseline which are flat out dangerous to the multiverse as a whole. [[{{Manga/Uzumaki}} Uzumaki]] is an example of the former and [[{{Homestuck}} the Skaia protocol]] is an example of the latter.
** Also the Lovecraft Mythos, albeit due to a nonstandard cause:
-->'''Sleipnir:''' You do realize that the Lovecraft Mythos is basically comprised of a branch of rogue hackers and viruses? They're the 4chan of Yggdrasil!
-->'''Twilight Sparkle:''' That actually explains a lot.
* CrossOver: Fused Loops. What, and how ''much'', is crossed over varies.
** Also, the premise as a whole qualifies an AhMyGoddess crossover.
** MassiveMultiplayerCrossover: According to the background lore, backups of universes stored in the Hub (our world) cause the natives to write fiction about those universes. On a more tangible note, the Admins will occasionally dump multiple Anchors into the same loop [[LetsYouAndHimFight for the lulz.]]
* CurbStompBattle: Looper versus nonlooper will always result in the former's favor due to the StoryBreakerPower below.
* DeadpanSnarker: ''Everyone'' gets moments of this.
** WorldOfSnark: No, a ''multiverse'' of Snark.
* DeathIsCheap: Most loopers regard death as an annoyance or minor inconvenience due to the loop reset always bringing them back.
** [[spoiler:Rincewind]], on the other hand, is so efficient at running away that he has not yet died in ANY loop.
* DimensionalTraveler: Traveling to a variation of the universe you're in isn't a problem, as it's technically part of the same Loop. Traveling to a completely different Loop on the other hand can create significant problems within Yggdrasil, especially if an Anchor spends a great deal of time during a Loop outside their Loop of origin. Series/OnceUponATime has been designated Read-Only because, in addition to that, no one can tell just how many Anchors are needed to stabilize the multiple tangled potential Loops it encompasses in the first place.
* DoorStopper: As of adding this trope, the [=FiM=] loops have gone on for 105 chapters and ''1,041,039 words''. And that's not ''even'' counting all fics in the Infinite Loops as a whole...
* ExpendableAlternateUniverse: Generally averted. Crashing a Loop is regarded as a Bad Thing, and even doing horrible things that'll 'reset' when a loop does is not smiled upon. In fact, having this viewpoint is a critical component of [[GoMadFromTheRevelation Sakura Syndrome.]]
* FateWorseThanDeath:
** The cases where Loopers end up in Eiken usually qualify as this.[[spoiler: Except for Haruhi.]]
** More seriously, ascending past a certain power level can cause a universe to [[RetGone cease to have ever existed]].
* FramingDevice: The multiverse has crashed and now every universe is stuck in a time loop! Now watch for episodic shenanigans!
* FreakyFridayFlip: Sometimes, Loopers will Replace other loopers... occasionally in the same Loop.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Rohan Kishibe is shaping up to be this to the Loopers. The other Loopers keep an eye on him to be sure he doesn't become another Sakura, but otherwise they would rather not be around Rohan.
* FromBadToWorse: Force ending a bad loop will result in an even worse loop. The loopers learned this the hard way, and force themselves to tolerate bad loops for this reason.
* FusionDance: The Josuke Higashikata of ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'' Part 8: Jojolion, if put into a fused loop, will have the second person that makes up him be whoever 'Josuke' is replacing.
* [[TheGadfly The Gadflies]]: The plot is basically the canon characters turning into a swarm of these in order to keep themselves sane during the time loops.
* GenderBender: According to [[MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Twilight]], this happens roughly two percent of the time.
* GenreRoulette: Though the over all theme is slice of life episodic comedy, having multiple writers even for the same story/compilation, this can pop up frequently. Some loops can be actiony, some focusing on romantic relationships, some can be dramas, etc, etc.
* GenreSavvy: Well, when you're stuck in a time loop you learn to see patterns....
* GroundhogDayLoop: [[CaptainObvious Yes.]]
* GroundhogPeggySue: [[CaptainObvious Also yes.]]
* {{Hammerspace}}: Subspace Pockets. These are the only way Loopers can carry things over between the loops. The size of a Pocket is a function of power, how recently someone began looping, and to some extent authorial choice. (For example, Ichigo early in his Loops has space for either his Shinigami badge or Kon, but not both; conversely, Ranma, one of the oldest and most powerful Loopers, collects death stars.)
* HeelFaceTurn: Apparently a requirement for villains to start looping. So far, the only exceptions have been the villains from ''WesternAnimation/TheVentureBrothers'', and that's because they treat evil more as a hobby than anything else.
** LoopholeAbuse: [[FireEmblemAwakening Grima]] manages to bypass this rule due to SharingABody with Robin, who is the anchor for that universe.
** [[spoiler: Anti-Villain Paradox from the Yu-Gi-Oh loops seems to have managed to avert this rule]]
** Due to the nature of the Transformers Loops, this rule doesn't apply to Decepticons.
* LivingForeverIsAwesome: Loopers generally come to this conclusion eventually. Whether they come to it because they decided to look at the bright side or because they've been driven mad varies.
* InSpiteOfANail: Even in variant loops, the basic structure and cast of a universe will remain similar. This is a JustifiedTrope due to the way that the multiverse repairs are run.
* JennyEverywhere: A looper with no known home loop. It's possible that her original loop was destroyed in the system crash.
* {{Lockdown}}: The operators of Yggdrasil try to do this to universes that contain potential security risks, but the [[{{Homestuck}} Skaia protocol]] is proving difficult to contain.
* ManipulativeBastard: A Looping Kyuubey tricked Madoka into ascending to a godlike level. This backfired spectacularly.
* MegaCrossover: The premise gives the authors an excuse to cross over almost everything with everything else, and they use it.
* MoodWhiplash: Due to the way the loops are structured, being episodic and having many different writers writing for it, this can pop up frequently. One loop can have the loopers wondering why they looped in as cuttlefish, while the next loop after it can be about the loopers trying to survive in a dystopia variant/fused loop.
* TheMultiverse: Is on the fritz, necessitating the loops.
* MyFutureSelfAndMe: The mini-me loops, where the loopers have done something so extreme in the previous loop that they break the timeline and physically survive the reset, leading to them meeting their nonlooping selves.
** IHatePastMe: The general reaction the loopers have towards their younger selves.
* NoodleIncident: Characters will refer to loops that happen offscreen sometimes.
** We never ''see'' the Eiken loops, only hear them referred to, probably because Eiken is actually quite dull once the novelty of the physiological implausibilities and incessant fanservice wear off.
* ObstructiveBureaucrat: This is the main reason the StarTrek Anchors never ''really'' act on their foreknowledge (to the point where visitors don't know ''who'' the Anchors are), as they'd have to explain themselves to the Department of Temporal Investigations in ''every'' Loop.
* OmniscientDatabase: Yggdrasil, as per AhMyGoddess canon. Except right now it's on the fritz.
* PowerLimiter: Ranma has a set, wished up from the Dragon Balls.
** [[spoiler: Also the original function of the Subspace Pockets, to take up increasingly larger amounts of the Looper in question's power and mental focus. The side-effect of carrying things past the Loop reset is entirely tangental, but is used as a selling point to newer Loopers.]]
* PredestinationParadox: Yggdrasil has a few protections against lesser time travel messing up the Loops. Predestination Paradox Protection, via the Ouroboros Patch, means that a Loop will typically only allow time travel that's 'already happened'. Then there's the Nesting Doll Protection Law which says that you can't damage a major Loop (the Infinite Loops) while in a minor one (your typical GroundhogDayLoop with an exit, or 'win', condition).
* ReadingAheadInTheScript: As mentioned above, savvy loopers will exploit the MutuallyFictional nature of loops to get an overview of any world they end up in. Some loopers even keep a copy of their own script on hand to give to newcomers.
* RecursiveFanfiction: Technically, all the fics made after Innortals. Though they all have their own unique plots in between the episodic shenanigans, they're still set in the same overall Multiverse as his. (Though, exactly ''what'' and ''which'' of Innortals snips are treated as canon by the community as a whole thanks to his... [[DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale err]], ''[[CharacterDerailment unique]]'' brand of humor is still [[BaseBreaker heavily debated]] to this day.)
* RetGone: An entire universe was destroyed at the conceptual level because of data corruption. It's implied that it's not the first to go that way...
--> '''Sleipner:''' It effectively never existed. Any fused Loops you had with that universe have now never happened. Aside from the forced system–wide reset of the Loops the collapse triggered, even the divine operators of Yggdrasil have no memory of it beyond an almost completely corrupted file of the 'jumpstart' attempt with a fused Loop that ended in its destruction.
** [[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica Madoka's]] universe is currently hosted on her bow, which means if she ever loses the bow it might cease to exist.
* SeenItAll: After enough go-rounds, most loopers will have some form of this attitude.
* StoryBreakerPower: Between the accumulation of personal abilities/skills/etc., access to all sorts of tech from around the multiverse, and simple experience, veteran loopers tend to short-circuit the plotlines of any loop they enter. (Especially if they've visited the "Hub" loop and had time to digest the relevant source material.)
* TimeAbyss: All Loopers eventually become this because the loops make them "older than Merlin"
* TimeCrash: ''Something'' happened to the multiverse, resulting in every world being put into a looping safe mode while the admins sort things out.
** The Crash, which happens when something went [[NoodleIncident horribly wrong]] in a fused Mega Man Loop, resulting in the total erasure of the unknown loop. It had knock-on effects through-out the other universes, even causing several new loopers to activate.
** Another one happens later on, this time because of a human-obsessed [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Lyra Heartstrings]], [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirls a magical portal]] and a poorly thought-out plan, which according to Twilight Sparkle prematurely ended at least three separate loops, and set the loops back by a few thousand years.
* TimeyWimeyBall: The loops hate this, resulting in the DoctorWho universe being Read-Only for a long time. This is because causing a TemporalParadox while in a Loop causes it to crash, something a bit more severe than simple premature termination of a Loop.
* WillfullyWeak: No Looper is allowed to ascend to the same level of godhood as the admins, as it will cause the destruction of their home loop. Experienced Loopers normally use a mixture of GuileHero, PowerLimiter, ManipulativeBastard, and [[HyperspaceArsenal the tools in their subspace pockets]] to avert VictoryIsBoring.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: This is a given. It's even explicitly stated by [[MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Twilight Sparkle:]]
-->"Gilda, I'm an Anchor. Which means I've been awake for every single loop. Sure I've gotten powerful, but among Anchors and other long time loopers the truism is ‘with great power comes great insanity.’ I've been better than most, but even I've had moments where I slipped. You'll find this out yourself, but imagine everyone around you had a disease. They remember everything up to a certain day. After that, they can't keep a new memory past a full day. They just keep forgetting and reliving the same day, over and over again. Only you remember and grow. How long before you stopped seeing them as friends out of frustration? How many days till you stopped seeing them as people at all? How many weeks till you started meddling, manipulating them for what is 'best'? How many months till you started smashing them in frustration that they can't bucking remember anything?!"
* WorldTree: Yggdrassil itself.
* WrongContextMagic: Loopers are able to retain abilities between loops, which leads to [[StarWars Jedi]] using [[{{Naruto}} chakra]] or [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic ponies]] with [[MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha intelligent devices]] or...
* YankTheDogsChain: Attempts to end the loops have happened way too many times, and it's [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption always resulted in a reset]]. The anchors have long since stopped caring.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Innortal's Loops]]
* AccidentalPornomancer: Poor Ranma. The other boys aren't safe either.
* AllWomenAreLustful: The most promiment here is Sakura, for whom Sakura Synrdome is named. The stress of the loops causes some people (usually women) to become nymphomaniacs. This leads to...
** DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale: A [[RunningGag running gag]] which is always [[PlayedForLaughs played for laughs]].
* AlternateSelf / OppositeSexClone: Rose Potter to Harry. She comes from a version of the HarryPotter universe where the new generation is genderbent.
* AlwaysABiggerFish: Abridged Popo is implied to be this for the loopers.
* AnythingThatMoves: Sakura. A quote used to describe her sex drive:
-->"Guy, girl, half-n-half... You know she's not picky."
* BarBrawl: The Anchors do this when left in a bar with no women.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Pranks and / or revenge done by people like Orihime and Kasumi are considered worse due to how little one would expect it from them.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: In-universe, the nonloopers regard the looper's antics as this.
* BotheringByTheBook: Harry Potter ''loves'' doing this to screw with Umbridge, and Dumbledore, and Snape, and Crouch... and everyone else, really.
* ButtMonkey: Most of the nonlooping characters who've annoyed the loopers, especially Kakashi.
* CelibateHero: "Hero" is a stretch for any looper, but the certain [[RapeAsComedy encounters]] leave the male loopers trying to remain virgins for at least one loop.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Ranma. One of the reasons given for why he's so strong is that in his home Loop, he has ''nothing other to do than train.''
* ClothingDamage: Invoked by the Kyuubi against Naruto as a prank, as in, Naruto couldn't wear clothes for a loop because the Kyuubi kept exploding them off him.
* CorporalPunishment: Ranma once decided to spank [[RoyalBrat Prince Herb]] for the sake of humiliating him.
* DenserAndWackier: Innortal's loops in general are noticeably less serious than the rest of the community. Of course, the concept was originally part of a collection of humor fics.
* DetonationMoon: Naruto did this once to stop the Moon's Eye Plan. Realistic consequences soon followed.
* DeathBySex: Shinji and Keiichi Morisato suffered this at the hands of a drunken Rei and a succubus-lust filled Belldandy, respectively.
* DisproportionateRetribution: The occasional cause and inevitable result of every prank done by the loopers. And yes, [[SerialEscalation it has escalated]].
* {{Dominatrix}}: Sakura and Hinata, foremost, though others have been mentioned. In one loop, the latter became a ''borg queen'' and tried to force Naruto into her "collective"
* EarthShatteringKaboom: The EVA pilots caused one while trying to end the loops. It lead to their first Fused Loop instead.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Innortal's earliest loops, although it's most noticeable in the Naruto ones. Examples include Naruto carrying Sasuke and Sakura's memories through Loop Reset by sheer weight of Chakra, ''surviving a Loop reset'', and no mentions whatsoever of Yggrasil until Urd shows up. This can be especially jarring for readers who started with Saphroneth (and other, later authors) who use a more concrete version of the rules.
** Really, in comparison, Innortal's Loops in genral. This has led to some OrwellianRetcon work by the greater community in an effort to reconcile the parts of Innortal's Loops that don't ''quite'' mesh with the current canon.
* EpicFail: Ranma and summoning. His first intended summon: a small bird. The result? Gojira. This is implied to happen ''every time he tries to summon something.''
** Another example is when Ranma, in a fit of boredom, gave Kuno a scroll containing a secret technique to try and make him more of a challenge to fight. Kuno turned out to be too arrogant to read the scroll properly, and exploded into LudicrousGibs when the technique backfired.
* EveryoneHasLotsOfSex: The loopers consider sex to be "the spice of life."
* FluffyTamer: After replacing Naruto for a loop, Kasumi gains her own [[EldritchAbomination Nine Tailed Demon Fox]]. She reduces it to the size of a lapdog, carries it around everywhere, and placates it with tuna when it gets too bloodthirsty.
* ForScience: A pastime for the loopers. Regardless of whether their experiments succeed or fail, the end result is PlayedForLaughs, sometimes at the expense of another character.
* GoMadFromTheRevelation: [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Sakura Haruno]]'s reaction to the Time Loops. She's now the TropeNamer for 'Sakura Syndrome', the term used to describe this trope among Loopers.
** Sakura Syndrome is more properly a form of psychopathy caused by a Looper's belief that since time always resets, then ''anything'' done to a non-looping person -- no matter how horrible -- is ultimately without lasting consequence and therefore ''any'' behavior may be freely indulged in.[[note]]Of course, this is not actually true. Even if your ''victim'' won't remember anything, ''you will'', and repeated performance of horrible crimes will rapidly desensitize you to all human sympathies, and then you start going psycho on fellow Loopers as well because you just don't care anymore. Failure to realize this in time and thus re-apply some measure of self-restraint to your behavior is what ''causes'' Sakura Syndrome.[[/note]]
* GoodGuyBar: '''Future's Past''', created by [[Anime/TenchiMuyo Washuu]] and the [[AhMyGoddess Goddesses]] late in the loops and located in a multiversal nexus to help awakened loopers from different universes to gather, talk, and relax together without a Fused Loop.
* GroinAttack: Shinji does this to Gendo for therapeutic reasons.
* HolyShitQuotient: In-universe, this has happened too many times, though one that stands out was a NoodleIncident which invovled introducing the All Spark to the Death Star.
* ImmortalityBisexuality: Played straight with the female loopers, [[AvertedTrope averted]] [[DoubleStandard with the male loopers]].
* InterruptedIntimacy: Invoked, Ichigo makes it look like he and Orihime are in the middle of a private moment, and attracts Rukia (who should be invisible to them) to his room. The end result is Rukia trying to deny that she is a vouyer.
* ItAmusedMe: The reason the loopers do almost anything, for better or worse.
* JackOfAllStats: Ranma. He's not the ''best'' at any particular area of combat (Harry and Lina are better at magic, there are Loopers with more outright raw power) but he tends to be second- or third-best at ''everything''. This adds up.
* TheKidWithTheLeash: Invoked in one of Harry's loops where pretends to be possessed by a demon, with said "demon" mentioning that Harry is this.
* LawfulNeutral: Invoked during the StarWars loops, where the loopers create a faction of Force users that are neither Jedi or Sith, called [[AntiHero "Gray Jedi."]]
* MadScientist: Everyone has dabbled into this, but none moreso than Sakura, who has to date created a Borg outbreak, Jusenkyo water that can last for more than one loop, and planned something with Kamino's cloning technology.
** Let's not forget the T-Virus outbreaks, the experiments with LCL, the NoodleIncident with the Magog...
-->(a climactic battle scene on the ''[[{{Series/Andromeda}} Andromeda Ascendant]]'' is interrupted by a Magog shrieking in terror offstage)\\
'''Sasuke:''' I swear, we can't take her anywhere. It's like she can't help herself, she has to commit one crime against nature every Loop.
* MindScrew: In-universe, the loopers love doing this to nonloopers for a quick laugh.
* {{Misblamed}}: Naruto blamed Ranma for receiving a Jusenkyo curse that lasted several loops, when in reality the culprit was Sakura. He didn't learn otherwise until after his retribution was already in motion.
* NakedPeopleAreFunny: Naruto goes naked for a loop as part of a bet, and creates a nudist colony in Kakashi's apartment.
* NinjaZombiePirateRobot: Innortal's loopers, but particularly Ranma, acquire all manner of powers from across the multiverse. To name a few, Ranma has ''all'' of the [[ComicBook/GreenLantern Lantern Rings]] as well as power sources for them, his own set of [[Franchise/DragonBall Dragon Balls]], numerous [[Manga/{{Bleach}} Zanpakutou and an Inner Hollow]], [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Sharingan and Kage Bunshin]], [[Manga/AhMyGoddess Belldandy, Urd, and Skuld's Angels]], is a [[Film/StarWars Jedi]], plays host to [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Lilith]], has absorbed [[ComicBook/{{Superman}} Darkseid]], [[Literature/HarryPotter can use magic]], and more.
* {{Polyamory}}: Monogamous relationships don't seem to work in the loops.
* PromotionToParent: Ranma has had to raise Naruto and Harry from infancy in two separate loops.
* RageAgainstTheAuthor: Naruto does this in a Real World loop, using the Kyuubi to threaten Tokyo unless he gets to "talk" to Masashi Kishimoto.
** The same loop has Sasuke killing YaoiFangirls who write [[PortmanteauCoupleName NaruSasu.]]
** ''Completely'' averted with the MLP cast, whose response on landing in a Real World (or 'Hub') loop is to write Hasbro a sincere thank-you letter. See the Heartwarming category for details.
* ReallyGetsAround: Everyone, especially Sakura.
* RecursiveFanfiction: The [[Fanfic/NobodyDies Nobody Dies!verse.]] That version of Rei is a separate being from canon!Rei, and is also looping.
** ''WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged'' as well, with Ghost Nappa haunting Ramna, and Mr. Popo appearing whenever he feels like it.
* RightBehindMe: En route to Kamino, Naruto proclaims he is glad Sakura isn't coming with him and Sasuke, and begins to explain why to her before realizing that she bypassed his ship's security system.
* RuleOfFunny: The reason for why some things happen the way they do (i.e., Riddle's diary committing suicide after mental contact with Luna, [[Franchise/FridayThe13th Jason Voorhees]] being unable to kill Kasumi). Invoked by the loopers for the most part.
* StuffBlowingUp: Another common pasttime for the loopers.
* TakeOverTheWorld: Harry has done this at least twice, as Dark / Grey Lord Potter.
* TheseAreThingsManWasNotMeantToKnow: In-universe, the general reaction to [[MadScientist Sakura's]] experiments. Nothing too extreme is shown onscreen, but given her track record...
* ThisIsGonnaSuck: New loops are met with some form of this.
* TrainingFromHell: Ranma tries to put Keiichi Morisato through one of these in order to let him survive sex with Belldandy. His tactics are the same as [[WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged Abridged Piccolo's]], complete with [[MemeticMutation "DOOOOOODGE!"]].[[note]]It fails, and Ranma uses his Dragon balls to solve the problem instead.[[/note]]
* UnwantedHarem: All the male loopers have one, especially Ranma.
* TheWorfEffect: Anything that is a standard threat for most universes gets subjected to this at the hands of a looper.
* YaoiFangirl: Sakura. It's part of her coping mechanism.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: My Little Pony Loops]]
* AllLovingHero: There is enough love in Fluttershy's heart to feed an entire colony of Changelings.
* TheAtoner: Chrysalis. Her first loop Awake was the "Slavequestria" loop, where she and a non-Awake Shining Armor were HappilyMarried and helped runaway slaves as part of LaResistance. When the loop reset, Chrysalis was horrified to realize that her actions in the prime timeline had ''not'' been AllJustADream.
** Sunset Shimmer is also this, as after she Awoke, she's dedicated herself to atoning for her sins, swearing never to become like she was in baseline again.
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: After Twilight figures out how to trigger Spike's greed-growth (from "Secret of my Excess") as needed, "Spike-zilla" becomes one option for how to deal with more extreme situations encountered in Equestria. Awake!Spike also learns to control his age/size/power-level and can go Kaiju when he feels it to be appropriate.
* AwesomeMomentOfCrowning: Often defied. Looping Celestia has enough of an aversion to paperwork that on one occasion she got the Looping Elements confirmed as regents in two minutes flat and fled to the beach.
** Twilight pulled a similar thing... putting the Crusaders in charge. (To their credit, they immediately decided to initiate a golden age so they could have fun and get some college-level partying done while 'mom' wasn't around.)
* BadassBureaucrat: Mayor Mare demonstrates her mastery of the Art of the Regulation by derailing the planned destruction of Equestria by the Vogons.
* TheBartender: Big Mac, after he opens his looping bar.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Equestrians have named their loop a sanctuary loop, and they ''mean'' it.
* BreatherEpisode: The Equestria loops now function as this for every guest looper. They take this duty ''very'' seriously.
* {{Calvinball}}: Discord's "Chaos"[[note]]you were expecting a different name?[[/note]] card/boardgame.
-->'''Apple Bloom:''' I could swear I had a different set of cards five minutes ago.
* TheChessmaster: After observing a few loops, Big [=McIntosh=] starts subtly nudging events -- A quiet word here, a small suggestion there -- to smooth out the more dramatic events of the default Equestria loops: Reduced conflict about the Grand Galloping Gala tickets, smoothly introducing Zecora to Ponyville, suggesting that Twilight coordinate Winter Wrap-up, etc. It takes Twilight quite a while to figure out that not only is he Looping, but is the one responsible for the less stressful loops.
* ComesGreatResponsibility: Twilight Sparkle's initial reaction to the loops was to make sure her family and friends stayed safe. This has expanded to making Equestria a designated Safe Loop for ''every'' looper.
* CrapsackWorld: Some of the worst loops. But the worst of the worst is "Slavequestria," a loop where Celestia legalized slavery and allied with Sombra, turning the whole world into a totalitarian hell and her battle with Nightmare Moon into EvilVersusEvil. All the Loopers involved are left traumatized afterwards.
** Scratch that, the (mercifully) largely undescribed Loop caused by a massive collection of porn and viruses bleeding into the Equestria Loop. (The loop wherein it's described starts with Twilight and Sleipnir, the administrator of Equestria, walking into Mac's bar to drown their memories of it.)
-->"Not only was she [Molestia] in charge but she was the pinnacle of what every pony strove to be, the ideal pony in the eyes of her subjects! And Twilight was the only one Awake, the only sane mare in this mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad world. And then this corrupted world painted a target on her by making her the most desirable mare alive to everyone in said world."
** To underline just how horrible this loop was, upon Awakening both Sleipnir and Twilight immediately ran for the gates of Tartarus, fought their way to the lowest levels of Hell, and then ''locked the door to Hell from the inside''. And then Sleipnir called down the ''Apocalypse'' and ''prematurely ended the world''. Let me underline that some more. A Yggdrasil System Administrator -- who is consistently portrayed as one of the most responsible and level-headed of the sysadmins, at that -- chose to '''deliberately crash a Loop'''. How desperate are you when risking further multiverse instability is preferable to actually trying to live in that loop world even for a single day?[[note]]Although its actually Justified: Twilight Sparkle is an Anchor. If she psychologically breaks, her home Loop risks total metaphysical destruction. If Sleipnir judges that trying to live through this Loop has a high probability of destroying Twilight's sanity, then the multiversal damage from a premature Loop crash is necessary cosmic triage.[[/note]]
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Pinkie Pie.
** Loop 102.3 give reasons of why baseline [[spoiler:Ditzy/Derpy/Bright Eyes]] is also one.
* CursedWithAwesome: Pinkie Pie. She has skills any assassin or fighter would gladly give up most of their limbs to possess, but she only uses said skills to cheer others up. In fact, she ''hates'' it when others are scared of her.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: During a Fused Loop with How To Train Your Dragon, Hiccup declares his intention to "befriend" Discord. The Mane Six tell him that only Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie can do that and so he explains that he's not using the conventonal definition of the word, but the one as used in the Nanoha verse. Cue Toothless turning into an Intelligence Device which Hiccup uses to blast Discord with a WaveMotionGun.
* DrowningMySorrows / INeedAFreakingDrink: To help cope with particularly unpleasant loop experiences, [=Awake!McIntosh=] usually sets up a bar where traumatized Loopers can start to decompress. Of course, it also serves as a general hangout for Loopers to compare notes and otherwise socialize.
* DrunkWithPower: So far, in almost every "Sisters" loop (where Twilight plus a rotating second ascended pony is in Celestia and Luna's positions), Twilight's co-ruler has this happen to them, resulting in them having to be banished to the moon.
** A notable example is the exception that proves the rule: one of the few "Sisters" loops where Twilight's co-ruler was not banished had said co-ruler [[spoiler: ([[GenderBender Princess]] [=McIntosh=])]] instead work to convince the populace the royal sisters did not actually exist, effectively removing the need to have one sister be out of the public's eye for a thousand years by putting them both out of the public's eye.
** Justified in-setting when Twilight states that alicornhood has a side effect of amplifying emotional extremes, and that the adjustment period can be... problematic. Once she finally figures this out and via trial-and-error derives some coping strategies for this problem, 'new' alicorns have a much easier time with things (the Cutie Mark Crusaders, for example, have all managed to avoid "lunar time-outs"). [[note]]Celestia and Luna didn't know about it either -- apparently Celestia's and Cadance's personalities were sufficiently Zen enough that they managed to avoid this, so for a long while everypony thought Luna had just had a nervous breakdown/hostile possession instead of succumbing to a condition endemic to alicorns, and the counseling Twilight was undergoing from Cadance for her own OCD tendencies ''prior'' to ascension also inadvertently let her sidestep this problem. It wasn't until ''all five'' of the other Mane Six freaked out each in their own way that Twilight twigged 'wait a minute, this is not a coincidence'.[[/note]]
* ElaborateUndergroundBase:
** At Trixie's insistence, Twilight frequently sets up a major installation under the Library Tree. Features include a modest lecture hall, several conference rooms, and a variety of laboratories for magical and explosives R&D.
** Applebloom also has the capability to install a large scale workshop/aircraft hangar under one of the hills on the Sweet Apple Acres farmstead.
** While not quite reaching "elaborate" scale, Rarity has started putting a modest Materials Science lab under Carousel Boutique.
* EverythingsBetterWithPrincesses: In this case, Alicorn Princesses, and one prince. In addition to the four canon alicorns, there's the rest of the Mane Six, Shining Armor, Trixie, Nyx, [[spoiler:all three Cutie Mark Crusaders plus Diamond Tiara, Berry Punch, Mayor Mare/Ivory Scroll, Zecora, Ditzy/Derpy/Bright Eyes...and one Princess [=McIntosh=] loop]].
* FireForgedFriends: How Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara reconcile. Leads to DT Looping and joining the [=CMC=].
* FixFic: This approach is taken for some of the more head-banger moments in canon, as well as whenever the Loopers end up in variant loops set in certain fanfics. For example, when Twilight Awoke alone in [[FanFic/RainbowDoubleDashsLunaverse the Lunaverse]](a variant not the real Lunaverse), she not only refused to go along with her counterpart's [[AdaptationalVillainy role]], but set up shaking the other characters out of their JerkAss mindsets and getting them closer to canon.
** The "Diplomancy" Loop can be considered a FixFic for "Boast Busters", as Twilight deliberately defused the situation by preventing Trixie from humiliating the others and engaged her in a challenge of her own, in such a way that Trixie's feelings were spared too, thus befriending her as well as causing her to Awaken later.
* GodzillaThreshold: Some foreign Loopers that are particularly disruptive get a trip to the moon. And Jadis of TheChroniclesOfNarnia is the only shown time Twilight has resorted to lethal force, due to her possessing the [[DepopulationBomb Deplorable Word]].
* HalloweenEpisode: The 2-part, 9-author collaboration Nightmare Night loop published between compilations 34 and 35.
* HeroicBSOD: Twilight after the [[MemeticMolester "Mol]][[NotHerself estia"]] loop.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: The hippocampi - Seaponies - turned from music loving beings who cheerfully help rescue others in distress to... music loving beings who cheerfully help rescue others in distress by using [[MoreDakka Overwhelming Firepower]] and [[DisproportionateRetribution Disproportionate Retribution]]. They've been in constant battle with horrors from the deep for so long that this became their knee-jerk reaction to everything. It gets to where Applejack starts using "seapony diplomacy" as a euphemism for ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill.
* InexplicableTreasureChests: During the Random Loot Arc, the source of these is explained by the Presence of a Stocker, someone who job is to create and leaves the treasure behind.
* InterruptedIntimacy: Loop 44.4 ("...I walked in on [[spoiler:Spike and Rarity]]."): Reactions vary from Squick (Twilight and Sweetie Belle) to confused indifference (Chrysalis) to enthusiastic support (Cadance).
* InterspeciesRomance: [[spoiler:Spike and Rarity, Trixie and Chrysalis, Berry Punch and Discord]]
* KeepingSecretsSucks: [[spoiler:The [=CMC=]+Diamond Tiara spend several loops concealing from each other the fact that each had Ascended for fear that the others would feel "left behind".]]
* KlingonPromotion: How the Griffins are shown to work, though it has certain checks built in so it isn't a perpetual brawl.
* LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain: A standing rule among the Loopers appears to be "don't talk about [[Fanfic/TheConversionBureau Conversion Bureau]] loops".
** This is Trixie's initial reaction when she and Twilight Awake in [[Fanfic/LifeInManehattan the Manehattanverse]], leaving Trixie as the Element of Laughter. Though she does seem to change her mind when Twilight explains that in her case, it's more like Optimism.
* LoopholeAbuse(?): As an alter-ego of Nightmare Moon/Princess Luna, [[Fanfic/PastSins Nyx]] enters the loops and sidesteps the "no children" restriction to be Twilight's adopted daughter.
** The CMC, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon tend to this when playing Battleship with real ships.
* LovingAShadow: Chrysalis has to struggle with the fact that the Shining Armor she spent her first Awake loop HappilyMarried to no longer exists, and that the looping one is HappilyMarried to Cadance instead.
* MajorGeneralSong: Loop 53.3. Also winks at BohemianParody in the stinger.
* MultipleChoicePast: Lyra, due to a glitch when she first starts Looping, obtains all possible memories every loop. [[spoiler:She ends up with multiple personality disorder due to this.]]
* MusicalWorldHypothesis: The phenomena is known as "heartsong" and involves Equestria's magic somehow resonating with the singer. Some of the pony Loopers have developed their ability to do this at will, resulting in Pinkie Pie leading Hogwarts into a big song and dance number.
** Hilariously lampshaded by loop 52.12, where Celestia and Twilight have a song and dance number... centered around their angst at not being able to sing and dance ''normally''.
* NeverLiveItDown: In Universe Example. Applejacks attempt at making an alcoholic beverage out of potatoes. The end result was something that Twilight had to ascend to alicorn status to get her sight back after drinking it caused her to go blind, and quickly became know as 'potato acid' to all the loopers.
--> '''Applebloom:''' Ah've never made acid outta' potatoes before.
--> '''Applejack:''' ONE TIME! [[LampshadeHanging Y'all are never gonna let me live that down, are ya?]]
* NonSequiturThud: A common consequence of Trixie's StuffBlowingUp incidents.
-->“Trixie would like fries with that,” the blue unicorn muttered, and fell over.
* NoodleIncident: How Twilight first met and became friends with [[Franchise/LyricalNanoha Nanoha]]. We only know they experimented on "practcal applications on Nanoha's [[StuffBlowingUp Magic of]] [[DefeatMeansFriendship Friendship]]" and the result was Twilight getting into a G3.5 loop as a result.
* NoodleImplements: Par for the course in a series that references as many loop incidents as it actually depicts. For example, from Loop 30.4:
-->Nightmare Moon had been vanquished with a zebra potion, two pry bars and several metric tons of fruitcake.
* OhNoNotAgain: Twilight's reaction to landing in a G3 or 3.5 loop. While not FateWorseThanDeath territory, she does ''not'' enjoy them. These seem to occur every time the previous loop terminates in an [[EndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt unexpectedly energetic fashion]].
* PornStash: Zeus hid one of these in Sleipnir's Yggdrasil terminal, creating a Loop featuring an Equestria embodying clopfic and noted above under CrapsackWorld.
* {{Railroading}}: When the ponies Looped into the ''Webcomic/GirlGenius'' setting, every attempt they made to make the world LighterAndSofter ended in failure as they were dragged along TheStationsOfTheCanon, much to their chagrin. They finally succeeded in driving the plot OffTheRails at the Siege of Mechanicsburg... [[spoiler: [[YankTheDogsChain only for Twilight to get struck by a bolt of lightning, prematurely ending the loop.]]]]
** In the baseline, no matter what Twilight does, her library always gets destroyed during Tirek's rampage. She's ''not'' happy about that.
* RecursiveFanfiction: Loops include variations of ''Fanfic/PastSins'', the ''[[FanFic/RainbowDoubleDashsLunaverse Lunaverse]]'' and ''Another Kind of Magic'' among others.
* RhetoricalQuestionBlunder:
-->'''Silver Spoon''': What do ''you'' all want?
-->'''Scootaloo''': Well, I personally want to revolutionize the field of aeronautics and join the Wonderbolts. I'm pretty sure Sweetie here wants to become a pop star, and Apple Bloom wants to build an army of robots to do her bidding.
-->'''Apple Bloom''': Not an army. Ah'd be fine with a small squad o' twelve, Ah'm not greedy.
-->'''Silver Spoon''': ...what?
* RunningGag: Many. Often they take the form of many short segments with different takes on the same scenario, separated by other segments.
** Applejack trying various means of getting Trenderhoof to lose interest in her right off the bat. Some work better than others.
** Rarity and Twilight Waking up in rather bizarre variants, leading Rarity to ask "Twilight, why are we X?" It's gotten to the point where Rarity starts doing it for no reason in order to troll Twilight. And of course, Pinkie lampshades it:
-->"Did somepony start a running gag without me? That's not nice."
** Luna coming up with bizarre ways to make her entrance in place of a Nightmare Moon attack.
** Celestia foisting off her royal duties onto someone else so she can go surfing, usually on the surface of the sun. This culminated in an incident where it took her less than 30 seconds to appoint the Elemental Harmony Gang as regents and flee out of sight... without checking to see if they were Awake first. (Most of them weren't.)
** Twilight asking what Ditzy's cutie mark is (and getting a different response every time)... which was then partially overtaken by scenes proceeding from the one in which [[spoiler:she popped like a soap bubble]].
** Twilight trying and failing to prevent Tirek from destroying her library.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Twilight's response to Waking up in an Equestrian version of ''Literature/NineteenEightyFour''. She tells Pinkie Pie to go full [[{{TabletopGame/Warhammer40000}} Chaos Goddess]] of Partying on Canterlot, then takes off to go study the moons of the outer planets up close and personal for a year.
** Earlier, this was also her response to waking up as the title character in ''FanFic/TheUnexpectedLoveLifeOfDuskShine'' -- upon realizing that she/he was in a HaremComedy, she/he teleported herself/himself to the moon for the duration of the loop and let Trixie fill in for her/him.
* StatusQuoIsGod: On occasion, Twilight attempts to earn a ''different'' Cutie Mark than her starburst design. It ''never works.''
** Twilight's attempts to prevent her library from being blown up by Tirek are usually also doomed to failure.
* StopWorshippingMe: After most of Equestria's loopers reached approximate parity with her (ascended to alicorn or achieved similar power levels), Celestia asked them to not swear by her name or Luna's. She suggested Trees as a substitute.
** UnusualEuphemism: This has led to the use of "Chlorophyll!" and other botanical terms as curses.
* StoryArc: A few of the longer loops are broken up into segments spread out over multiple loop collections.
* StuffBlowingUp: Standard Operating Procedure for Awake!Trixie after her ascension. The Awake iterations of the [=CMC=] membership also have their share of such events.
-->'''Twilight''' (to Trixie after the latter had been tinkering with nuclear fusion): And next time, stick to chemistry. In fact, if you ever start getting involved in nuclear physics again, I may extract a Pinkie Promise.
** One of the more over-the-top instances of that is pure unleaded NightmareFuel for anyone who knows the actual chemical substances being referred to (seriously, just Google them and be amazed. And freaked out.):
-->'''Twilight:''' You actually tried to dissolve FOOF[[note]]Aka 'dioxygen diflouride'[[/note]] in chlorine trifluoride?!? I had to drop half the lake and fifty tons of sand on it, and it even set fire to ''that'' until it ran out of liquid!
** Upon discovering xenomorphs, the seaponies nuked the colony from orbit, and then -- to be sure -- glassed the rest of the planet, used a planet buster to destroy said planet, chucked the largest pieces into the sun, and then right before they left, destroyed the entire sun. All while happily singing.
** Also a characteristic of anything volatile enough to actually intoxicate an Equestrian dragon, given that their digestive systems are built to treat swallowing crushed rocks and magical crystals as easily as digesting applesauce.
-->'''Berry Punch:''' Drink it quickly before the ingredients eat through the magical stabilization. On a scale of one to ten, this thing has a shelf life of nope, it doesn't have a shelf life. And never, ever serve it to a pony – or really, anyone other than a real Equestrian dragon. Otherwise, the customer will explode. Then their remains will explode. Then, whatever is left will require Sparkle to hit it with another entire lake bed before it makes the surrounding area unlivable.
* [[SupremeChef Supreme Mixologist]]: Berry Punch has concocted a combination of volatile chemicals and flavorings that Spike declared to be the best thing he's ever tasted. She's also pretty damn good with regular ethanol-based drinks.
* SuperPoweredEvilSide: Every alicorn has one. Twilight Lampshades this.
-->"Congratulations on joining the alicorn club, it helps if you've thought of your evil self beforehand.”
* TransformationTrinket: In order to re-ascend, ponies that have achieved alicornhood in previous loops need access to a magical artifact of similar power to the one that catalyzed their initial Ascension. (Most such artifacts are soul-bonded, so this isn't much of an issue, but a few ponies have to use more 'generic' items.)
* TropeCodifier: Innortal may have started the loops, but this series does more exploring of the rules.
* UncannyValley: InUniverse case. As sometimes the loops feature some variations from the usual baseline, it's possible some loops to feature this. Twilight has been visibly affected by two loops this way.
** In one case, Celestia was as kind, caring as loving as usual, but also a slaver who set her mark on all ponies to keep them in control, with the side effect of not allowing them to get their own cutie marks. Even if [[spoiler:she and her Awake friends had to banish Celestia and Nightmare Moon to the moon]] Twilight some loops after still feels she failed Awake!Celestia that loop.
** In the [[NoodleIncident "Molestia"]] loop, Twilight was the target of rape of all many ponies including the non-looping versions of her family and friends. It was enough to give her an HeroicBSOD.
* WeddingDay: The multi-contributor, 2-parter published between compilations 50 and 51, covering the wedding of [[spoiler:Spike and Rarity]].
* WhatDidIDoLastNight: Happens to Mayor Mare in the aftermath of [[spoiler:Spike or Rarity's]] pre-wedding parties (it isn't specified which one she had attended).
** In the loop where the Reserve Element Bearers (Spike, Chrysalis, Trixie, Zecora, Gilda and Berry Punch) fill in for the regular ones, Berry gets volunteered to handle [=UnAwake=] Discord's reforming, which she does via getting them both drunk and waking up cuddled to each other the next morning. [[spoiler: Then it turns out Discord Awoke long enough near the end of the loop to get his memories of this relationship, leading to them being an actual, continuous couple.]]
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: After a particularly traumatizing loop, Applejack developed a fear of seaponies. Twilight eventually makes her spend time with Lyra (a disguised seapony in at least one loop) in order to help her get over it.
** Twilight suspects that whoever or whatever's in charge of the loops invokes this trope intentionally, as she herself was put in increasingly snakey situations until she got over her own fear of snakes.
** Confirmed in later loops where we see that if Sleipnir thinks a Looper is starting down a psychological death spiral, he'll schedule them for a Fused Loop wherever he thinks best suited to snap them out of it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Yu-Gi-Oh Loops]]
* AlternateSelf: When a duelist replaces Yuma's role as Number Hunter, they gain their own version of Utopia. For example, Yugi has Silent Guardian and Tori has Guardian Angel Paradise.
* CantCatchUp: According to Jack Atlas, he can never defeat any version of Yusei in the loops without the loop crashing.
* TheChosenMany: Requires specific focus here separate from regular time loops. For some reason or another, the Yu-Gi-Oh universes contain at least four separate loops and four anchors: Yugi Motou (and Atem), Jaden Yuki, Yusei Fudo and Yuma Tsukimo (and Astral), with a Fifth recently discovered to the anchored by Yuya.
** This applies doubly for Original Series and [[YugiohZeXal ZeXal]] loops, as Yugi and Yuma share the role of anchor with Atem and Astral respectively. This has been handwaved away by explaining that Atem is bound to Yugi, or whoever is taking his place in the loop if he is there but Yugi is not, and likewise with Astral to Yuma.
* ForTheEvulz: The Jinzo spirit. He admits their are better ways to get spirit energy than drain people, but does it for the fun of it.
* FriendlyEnemy: The Barians, despite only two of them looping [[spoiler:Shark and Rio/Nash and Marin]], are more or less this, in part because of the looping Barians. [[TokenEvilTeammate Vector is an exception]]
* InSpiteOfANail: More so than the other loops, the Yu-Gi-Oh! Anchors are hit by this quite a lot, as a lot of the time even if Yugi Motou was to change the main game to, say, chess, Duel Monsters would still be the game of choice in Yusei Fudo's time. See TheChosenMany above.
* SelfImposedChallenge: The looping duelists are known to do this; Yuma for example defeating Kaze with [[LethalJokeCharacter Rank 1 Galaxy Queen and Baby Tiragon]]
* ThrowingOffTheDisability: When Apple Bloom looped in as Serenity, she immediately cured herself so that she wouldn't miss a single part of the Loop.
* WhamEpisode: [[spoiler:A looping Paradox]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Legend of Zelda Loops]]
* TheBadGuyWins: Ganondorf is looping, sometimes solo, so this is to be expected on occasion.
* BeleagueredAssistant: Epona, goddess of horses, helps administrate the Zeldaverse, under the 'supervision' of Susanoo, god of chaos and storms.
* [[NonStandardCharacterDesign Non-Standard Loop Setting]]: Most universes have a main character as the Anchor. The Zeldaverse has the Triforce as the Anchor with the three looping bearers (Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf) rotating as its proxy. In addition, because each of the baseline Loops covers a game (and possibly direct sequels) that is part of a larger timeline, there is the possibility that events in one Loop can become the history of a later Loop.
* RunningGag: Cucco hordes
* SelfImposedChallenge: Link spends a several Loops trying to see if he can make it through an ''Ocarina of Time'' Loop with nothing but a deku stick.
--> '''Ganondorf (non-looping):''' Is this a joke? You seek to defeat me... Me! The master of the Triforce of Power! [[PunctuatedForEmphasis With! A! STICK?!]]

* AndThisIsFor: Roll delivers one of these to Waltz during their duel in the first loop, naming off the various atrocities Waltz and the Robot Masters under her command had committed during one of the earlier aborted loop attempts.
* AxCrazy: Waltz, an evil duplicate of Roll built by Dr. Wily with future technology and the DistaffCounterpart to Quint. Instead of trying to mess around with the heroes' heads or follow orders, all she cares about (or even talks about) is her desire to [[BloodKnight messily slaughter her opponents]]. During her second appearance in Loop 1.0, [[spoiler: Quint stabs her InTheBack and [[KilledOffForReal destroys her IC chip]] solely because she's too much of a liability this way.]]
* BeyondTheImpossible: During a Loop that crossed over with FanFic/TheConversionBureau, Dr. Wily (who is ''not'' Looping) was somehow able to get himself and his robots past the impenetrable anti-tech barrier that surrounded that version of Equestria "without even scratching the paint." He didn't take the barrier down or anything; he just took his army ''straight through it''. Even the Awake Doctor Light has trouble explaining how Wily manages to pull off half the things he does.
* BreakTheCutie: The events of the failed initial Loops were not kind to the three prospective Anchors, Roll and Blues especially. The fact that they all somehow retain glitchy, corrupted memories of said events (which isn't supposed to be possible) doesn't help, either.
* CanonForeigner: Reverend Dark, a robot worshiping fanatic. [[spoiler:The man is stated to be the human identity of [[VideoGame/MegaMan5 Dark Man]], though it varies as to whether he's really a human who turns himself into a robot in the final stages of his fanaticism or another of Dark Man's holographic disguises.]]
* CerebusSyndrome: For the most part, other Loop fics have mainly focused on the many different kinds of shenanigans the various Loopers could get into. The Mega Man Loops started out with a long sequence of failed attempts at bringing that universe online and the psychological impact it had on the three initial candidates for Anchors: Rock, Roll, and Blues. See FromBadToWorse for more.
** It even carries through into the fused loop with Equestria, much to Rock and Roll's distress.
* FromBadToWorse: First, it was discovered that the entire extended Megaverse was so corrupted that initially, only the Classic series was capable of Looping. Then Rock, Roll, and Blues were successively put through a series of failed initial Loops that only ended up damaging the system further with each failed attempt, leading up to the last go-around with Blues collapsing less than ten seconds in. Then the admin tried to stabilize the system with a Fused Loop, but [[spoiler: a psychopathic viral AI that had manifested as a result of all the corrupted data managed to capture Rock, Roll, Blues, and the visiting Anchor and use them in a ritual meant to give the AI [[AGodAmI admin-level godhood]] and let it wreak havoc throughout all of Yggdrasil. Yggdrasil's defenses kicked in and destroyed the AI before that could happen, but the visiting Anchor was [[CessationOfExistence obliterated at the conceptual level]], [[RetGone his or her entire home universe was also lost as a result]], and Yggdrasil experienced a major system crash that was felt across multiple universes.]] The disaster left the Megaverse on its last legs; if the next attempt at initiating a Loop (which required [[spoiler: help from the Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog universe]] to increase the chance of success to 90%) failed, it ([[spoiler: and quite possibly the Sonicverse as well]]) would be gone for good.
* GratuitousJapanese: Whenever Roll merges with Tango, she has a tendency to say 'nyan', much to her distress.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: One of Blue's failed loops ended when a glitch allowed King to slice him in half.
* HeelFaceDoorSlam: Bass was helping the Anchors (to impress Roll) when the reality warp hit. After that, Dr Wily reprogrammed him to be obedient.
* InterfaceScrew: When the author posted the log for the horrifically failed Fused Loop attempt, he encrypted it to make it resemble a corrupted file and challenged his readers to see who could successfully decrypt it first. The winner was allowed to post the decrypted version for all to see shortly afterward.
* MillionToOneChance: The desperate attempts of Hephaestus and Hermes to sustain the merged loop quickly fail, not helped by the presence of the Skaia Protocol. The chances of the Loop's success drops from the original 90% to 2%, then to utter gibberish, then right down to 0.0001%, which is as low as the numbers can possibly go. [[spoiler: Only Bass and Shadow's intervention saves both realities.]]
* MoodWhiplash: In some of the failed loops, something ridiculous tends to happen (Dr Wily announcing his plans to take over the world with interpretive dance, Rock facing a [[Webcomic/DarthsAndDroids Cheddar Monk]] in the World Robot Tournament) just before reality crashes again.
* MythologyGag: The first attempt at starting up the loops ended when Rock encountered Bond Man, a glue-based Robot Master [[WhatCouldHaveBeen who was initially planned to be in]] [[VideoGame/MegaMan1 the first game]] but was scrapped before character designs could be made when the number of Robot Masters was cut down to six.
** Several of the failed Loops either take elements from or are outright based on many different ''Mega Man Classic'' adaptations, some more obscure than others.
* NoDeathRun: Given the utter mess left by the plethora of attempts to start the universe looping, the local Yggdrasil admin was forced to make Rock, Roll, ''and'' Blues into Co-Anchors. If any of them dies during this attempt, it will fail.
* OhCrap: Far too many in the first Loop to count.
* OmnicidalManiac: In a choice between reforming or not reforming, Waltz screams she'd much rather bring reality down around her.
* PuzzleBoss: How the fight against Egg Denizen: Consort in the first loop played out. Her entire shtick was to set up a [[BarrierWarrior massive barrier]] between the heroes and the Eggman-Wily lair. Fortunately, she was under a {{Geas}} which required her to explain how the barrier could be breached... unfortunately, the only thing that could do so was a symbol of [[ThePowerOfLove true (romantic) love]]. The solution? [[spoiler: Loading [[BattleCouple Bunnie and Antoine's]] wedding rings into a rail gun Tails had installed in Bunnie's bionic arm and using them to shoot the Consort through the chest and head.]]
* RageBreakingPoint: In one loop where Dr Wily's inventions are designed are Russian-themed, one bad RussianReversal joke drives Roll into a momentary frenzy.
* ShellShockedVeteran: Roll has a lot of the symptoms of one. Her fourth failed Loop is the main culprit.
* StrappedToAnOperatingTable: Happens to Blues in one of the failed loops, at the hands of an evil Dr Light. He still hasn't gotten over it.
* UnexplainedRecovery: [[spoiler: Despite having her IC chip destroyed earlier in the loop, Waltz returns during the attack on the Wily-Eggman base, ready to fight and just as crazy as ever.]]
* UnfortunateName: Reverend Dark's initials spell out STD.
* UnstoppableRage: Roll, in her fourth failed Loop. She had every intent of killing Dr Wily because of what he did to her brother. The only reason she doesn't succeed is because the Loop fails.

[[folder: The Log Horizon Loops]]
* AnAdventurerIsYou:
** "Looper" is now as subclass, and so is "Anchor". Functionally, the abilities they provide are like NewGamePlus because they enable access to all abilities from previous loops.
** During a Friendship is Magic Fused Loop, the ponies create a "Equine Tail" racial category.
* AllThereInTheManual: By now, Yggdrasil has codified common problems and advice for loopers into a help menu. Loopers can access chapters that will tell them all about the Infinite Loops without waiting for a Fused Loop. "’Chapter 1: Is Your Life Too Repetitive? Looping and You".
* ItOnlyWorksOnce: Shiroe's Looper Contract worked the first time he tried it because Elder Tales' code is more premable than most worlds but after it broke a loop, the admins modified the world's code so that it wouldn't work again.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Chapter six is an attempt at preventing this trope. "The Do Nots; How to Avoid Breaking the Universe". Nevertheless, Shiroe creates a Looper Contract which causes an error, breaks the loop, and kicks him into an Eiken loop with a strongly worded letter from the local admin.
* ObviousRulePatch: "No activating loopers on your own authority" was created in response to Shiroe doing so.
* RuleNumberOne: Technically, it's number "whatever" but in any case it is "expect the unexpected".

[[folder: The Spyro the Dragon Loops]]
* TheAlcoholic: Ihy, the admin of both Spyro loops, is this. PlayedForLaughs of course. Though, as a result, some rather ''odd'' loop variations tend to pop up frequently.
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: How Legends Spyro views Classic Spyro, despite the fact that, because his universe was created first, Classic Spyro is technically older than Legends Spyro.
** Zigzagged. ''The Legend of Spyro'' and ''Spyro the Dragon'' Loops both activated at the same time. And the ''Legend's'' Loop lasts four years on average while the ''Classic'' Loop lasts three years on average, thus Legend's is older in actual ''age''.
* ArmorPiercingQuestion: During the night when the Spyros finally reconcile over [[spoiler: the massive near death match they got into]], Legend is telling Classic about how crummy his loops usually are because WarIsHell. Though Classic understands, he does bring up the valid point over why he isn't taking the chance to have a little fun in the current peaceful variant they're in. Legend pauses for a few second to think about it, but eventually brushes it off as him having a hard time adjusting to finding out he has a counterpart that is basically his complete opposite in every way. He slowly does begin to lighten up a bit after this though.
* BadDreams: Rather important during Legend and Classic's First fused Loop together, they have to keep Legend's dreams awave from their DreamWeaver mother. [[spoiler: Otherwise, she'd know enough to question their injuries further, potentially [[SpottingTheThread revealing]] their duel to the death. Half Fever dreams/ half memories are also the first idea of ''why'' [[TheInsomniac Malefor]] is so messed up during the Loop.]]
* BroadStrokes: A few things after the post Insomniac trilogy for the Classic Spyro verse are treated as such. For example, the general [=OOCness=] from everyone during the events of VideoGame/SpyroAHerosTail is {{Handwaved}} as the side effect of the dark gems.
* CelibateHero: Classic Spyro. He treats love like a sickness, and is absolutely ''horrified'' when he finds out his Legends counterpart is in a relationship with Cynder.
** That said, he seems to have an implied crush on [[CrossOverShip Rainbow Dash]], and he's recently started to treat [[FanGirl Ember]] with a bit more respect than he use to. He also finally admits that he loves Elora after [[ItMakesSenseInContext Legend threaten to dunk his head in a public toilet.]]
* CharacterDevelopment: [[DiscussedTrope Discussed]] by Classic Sparx when Classic Spyro and Ember finally decide to be JustFriends for the time being instead of Ember trying to force a relationship on Spyro, and Spyro constantly blowing her off because of it. Sparx is [[SoProudOfYou rather proud of them]] for finally bringing this out into the open instead of continuing like always because of the loops.
--> ''Sparx chuckled, before looking at his friend with a smile. Sparx couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. He had been with his friend sense birth, and always liked to think that of the two, he had a more leveled head. Yet, seeing Spyro finally starting to take some form of responsibility, he couldn't help but grin. It went to show that, despite their bodies not aging thanks to the loops, they were still growing in one way or another.''
* ControlFreak: Legends Spyro has this problem, though whether it was brought on by the loops or [[WarIsHell what his baseline's like]] is left up to interpretation. He doesn't like looper shenanigans, and his main goal right now is trying to stop the war, keep Cynder from becoming the 'Terror of the Skies', and beating Malefor early on in the loop. The main reason he and his Classic counterpart butt heads so much is because of this mentality.
* CoolAndUnusualPunishment: After managing to win a day spent at the arcade, Ember decides to get back at Classic Spyro for leaving her in the dark about the loops for several early loops straight by forcing him to carry the giant pink panda she won all the way home. Turns out that was only half of it though, because as a result a lot of the people they pass by end up mistaking Spyro for Ember's boyfriend, much to his dismay.
--> ''"[[ShesNotMyGirlFriend But I'm not her boyfriend!]] Ember, tell her!"''
--> ''Instead, the pink dragoness shrugged, put on a reserved smile, and kept silent. Ah, revenge was most certainly a dish best served cold.''
* {{Deconstruction}}: The arc where Classic and Legends first meet each other for the first time touches upon this slightly, especially when [[spoiler: Legends goes [[SuperPoweredEvilSide dark]].]] Legends does not gloss over the fact that just how much pressure people putting all their faith into TheChosenOne can mess with said ones mental state, especially when they're [[KidHero barely into]] [[ChildSoldiers their early teens]] at the time. It also goes into what it means to be TheHero, and whether or not they truly exist when [[spoiler: Dark Spyro]] begins to verbally deconstruct Classic's adventures in the Dragon Realms.
* ElementalBarrier: In order to navigate around the magma battle field [[spoiler: Dark Spyro]] caused, Classic uses a combination of his water element and magic to create a water barrier to cool the lava beneath him when he teleports, his magic keeping said water shield from boiling him alive. [[spoiler: It quickly comes back to bite him in the tail though when Dark Legends discovers his combo elements can get passed the magical layer around the shield, and thus uses his steam (Fire+Ice) element in an attempt to boil Classic alive.]]
* EpicFail: Legends Sparx' attempt at 'training' dragons when he and Legends Spyro looped into the WesternAnimation/HowToTrainYourDragon verse. We don't see what happened, but apparently he was so bad that the end result was ''[[UpToEleven every single dragon on Berk attacking the village at once.]]''
* EvilVSEvil: Classic Spyro spent a few loops trying, and eventually succeeding, to get Gnasty Gnorc and Ripto to fight each other.
* {{Fangirl}}: Ember to Classic Spyro. Though, if the latest arc is any indication, she's slowly starting to [[CharacterDevelopment develop]] out of this.
* FishOutOfTemporalWater: Nearly all the Legends characters are this, due to their loop being set in the medieval times. In his first fused loop with the Classic verse, Legends Spyro ended up blowing up a sprinkler because it surprised him.
* GodGuise: Legends Sparx manages to pull this off to the Atlawas village during a loop. It involved [[NoodleImplements several hundred loops, cleaver and witty word play, making sure he did it when Spyro and Cynder couldn't stop him, and a whole mess of whole mess of wires]] for him to pull off.
* HeroicBSOD: Cynder goes through one during the earlier loops, due to having to relive her time as 'Terror of the Skies' six times. She's slowly getting better.
* ItMakesSenseInContext: "[[OhCrap Ripto found the spork!]]"
* MyGreatestFailure: After the loop where he replaced Ignitus, Legends Spyro feels this way after he failed to stop the temple raid, taking it even harder than the guardians due to the fact that even with the skills he built up over the loops he couldn't stop the apes from slipping through.
** Classic recently gained one as well: [[spoiler: Nearly drowning/boiling Legends alive! ...Actually both Spyros seem to treat their fight as this.]]
* MyInstinctsAreShowing: PlayedForDrama when Classic Spyro [[spoiler: attempts to drown Dark Legends Spyro when the latter attempted to boil him alive.]] The only thought that ran through Classic's mind when it happened was to survive no matter what, and when he came to he was utterly ''[[MyGodWhatHaveIDone horrified]]'' by what he attempted to do. Most disturbingly, [[spoiler: Dark Legends]] is actually ''[[BloodKnight thrilled]]'' by [[spoiler: Classics attempt to kill him]], taking it as sign that Classic may be a "true dragon" after all.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: [[spoiler: Nice job disguising yourself and busting out of an egg in front of Legends after a loop where he failed to stop the temple raid, Classic. That really did ''wonders'' [[UnstoppableRage on his]] [[SuperPoweredEvilSide disposition]].]]
* NoodleImplements: Used to the point where it's practically a RunningGag.
* NotSoDifferent: Frequently, given the fact that there are two realms. Despite how much they butt heads, both Spyros tend to show that despite their differences they the same in many ways, and frequently share common interests. For example, they both think {{Humongous Mecha}}'s are cool, even though Legend [[ClosetGeek won't admit it in front of Cynder and his Sparx.]]
** Despite how Legend Sparx' comments tend to annoy him, Classic Sparx tends to be just as [[DeadpanSnarker snarky]], if not even ''more'' so, as his counterpart.
** Non-counterpart example; when Classic [[spoiler: finally gives up his obsession with getting Elora looping because he has a crush on her]], he notes that it wasn't unlike how Ember use to constantly hit on him.
* OneSteveLimit: Invoked when the two Spyros and Sparx' finally met each other. In order to avoid confusion, the adopt the code names of their universes. 'Classic' for the classic Spyro verses and 'Legends' of the Legend of Spyro verse.
* OtherMeAnnoysMe: How the Spyros viewed each other at first. After some mishaps, a rather out of hand battle, and [[spoiler: [[ItMakesSenseInContext some unintentional murder attempts,]]]] they eventually started warming up to each other and begin to view each other like brothers... though they still have their moments.
** This is Classic Sparx' general view of Legend Sparx.
* OwMyBodyPart: A random person ends up yelling this after Classic and Ember drop a ceramic mug out the window to see how far it would bounce off the ground with a reflect spell up.
--> ''"MY LEG!"''
* RedOniBlueOni: Classic Spyro and Legends Spyro. Classic is the mischievous, carefree red oni whose motto is "[[IndyPloy make it up and try new things as you go along]]", while Legends is the serious, respectful blue oni who prefers keeping to what his guardians taught him when in battle.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Somewhat surprisingly given his ''[[TheAlcoholic other]]'' defining trait, Ihy. He would like to help Legend's improve his baseline, but doing so would go against his job, because then the Admins would have to do it for ''everybody'' who doesn't have a perfect baseline, and that would take ''way'' too much power. [[spoiler: ...Unless there was a way to prevent a precedent...]]
** As it turns out Ihy's already in hot water with the other Admins for preemptively doing the Legend's Loopers a favor. Specifically: [[spoiler: He altered the ''Legend of Spyro'' Baseline so that Cynder's transformation happens after the Loop begins, so that she would have a chance at [[DamselinDistress being rescued]] or [[DamseloutofDistress rescuing herself.]]]]
* RoadBlock: Cynder and Ember come upon one when attempting to reach the park where the battle between the two Spyros is going on. Cynder attempts to bypass it by flying high enough into the air... only to [[RuleOfFunny encounter a group of dragons holding road blocks in the air.]] The absurdity is not lost on her.
--> '''Cynder:''' Oh ''come on!!''
* RunningGag: The use of NoodleImplements when explaining how something was pulled off or a previous loop.
** Loopers finding Malefor's title of 'The Dark Master' [[TakeThat incredibly generic.]]
** The Legend dragons wondering why Classic dragons eat bread.
* SealedEvilInACan: Usually nine times out of ten in the loop variants he actually appears in, Malefor tends to spend a greater part of them sealed away in ''something''. Besides Legend verse baseline where he's trapped in convexity, the first fused loop between the Classic and Legend verse [[spoiler: where a rogue admin hacked him back into the loop after Ihy wrote him out,]] he was sealed away for a greater part of it until [[spoiler: Ripto]] discovered what he was sealed in and broke it. [[spoiler: It was a [[ItMakesSenseInContext spo]][[InsistentTerminology rk]], by the way.]]
* SelfImposedChallenge: Classic Spyro went through several runs of his loop using only one element each, from fire, to ice, to even ''bubbles''.
* SpeedRun: Legends Spyro did this in one of his earlier loops in an attempt to free a non-awake Cynder from her 'Terror of the Skies' form earlier than usual.
* ShoutOut: When Classic is trying to think of ways to help Legend's relax after a nightmare, (if only so their DreamWalker mother doesn't find out about their fight the previous day) Classic tries to teach his brother about video games. After spending a few seconds trying to find one that wouldn't accidently give Legend ''more'' nightmare fuel, he eventually decides on playing [[VideoGame/KirbySuperStar Dyson Super Star]].
** Legend uses a pulls a golem to him with a yell of, [[VideoGame/MortalKombat "Get over here!"]]
** Then with his claws sparking with electricity, he tells Hunter that [[VideoGame/MetalGearRising This is our normal."]]
** The medical spell book that Classic reads through to find a spell to heal his and Legend's wounds is mention being named [[Series/GreysAnatomy Drake's Anatomy]]
* ShipSinking: [[spoiler: After repeated failed attempts at getting Elora looping so they could be together, Legend manages to convince Classic to give up on her, noting how what Classic is feeling is obsession and not love, to which Classic finally begrudgingly agrees, noting how it wasn't fair to subject Elora to the loops just because of his own feelings.]]
* SuperPoweredEvilSide: Both Legends Spyro and Cynder have this, thanks to their baseline. So far, only Legends has popped up thanks to [[spoiler: Classic Spyro [[NiceJobBreakingItHero unintentionally reminding Legends how he failed to stop the temple raid when he looped in as Ignitus]] during their battle.]]
* SwissArmySuperpower: Classic is ''really'' good at using his powers in unconventional ways, as well as coming up with unconventional ways for ''others'' to use their powers. To put it in his own words...
--> '''Classic:''' ''One of the elements I possess is bubble. It sounds fairly useless, and I use to think that way too. However, while most people would just view them as [[WhatKindOfLamePowerIsHeartAnyway useless bubbles]], '''I''' view them as [[HeartIsAnAwesomePower flaming bubble bombs!]]''
* TakeOurWordForIt: When Ember is explaining how she learned [[DonutMessWithACop donuts distract cops]], she mentions a loop that involved "[[NoodleImplements several cops setting up a strict five PM curfew, some shenanigans involving a giant nutty bar, and a lot soap]]". Seeing Cynders (understandably) dumbfounded expression, Ember says something to this effect.
--> '''Ember:''' Trust me. [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext It makes about as much sense being there as I'm explaining it.]]
* TheyreCalledPersonalIssuesForAReason: Cynder's baseline is treated this way by the Legend's Loopers when they have their first fused Loop with the Classic Characters. [[spoiler: Even after Legends and Cynder explain this part of the past to Classic and Ember, conversations about it are still very awkward affairs.]]
** What happened near the end of the first day of the First Fused Loop between Classic and Legends.
* UncannyValley: InUniverse example. Legend Spyro finds dragons from the Classic verse's double joints (which allows them to stand on two legs, use their forelegs like arms, and shift one of their claws to work like an opposable thumb) as such. When he finds out the time loop allow him do this too in loops where Classic's world is involved in some way, he instantly resolves to ''never'' use them because of this trope. (Or at least try to avoid using them when he can.)

* BeyondTheImpossible: Gary's Blastoise can use Spiral Power. Neither Gray nor his Blastoise has been to Gurren Laggan.
* LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain: The general reaction to a Pokewars variant loop.
* OneSteveLimit: Discussed in the Thread as a reason to give the Pokémon Loopers names. Currently there are two males from the Charmander Line, two males from the Squirtle Line with another expected, One male and one Female Pikachu with at least one more expected, Two Males from the Chimchar Line, and two males from the Piplup Line. The result of the discussion: inconclusive.
* RetGone: An interesting example in [[spoiler: Ash's Father]]. He still exists but no one can remember [[TheFaceless any distinguishing features]].

[[folder: Star Wars Loops]]
* AdaptationalVillainy: The Sith Lord title tends to get tossed around without a care in the world by Variant Loops, with Sith versions of Padme, Shmi and Jar Jar being encountered several times.
* CriminalDoppelganger: Despite sharing very little physical similarities with it, Yuuno is mistaken for Kyubey by a pair of Stormtroopers, much to Anakin's dread.
--> "I suppose Nanoha and Fate are looking for you. Best to return you before they come and destroy one of my fleets again."
* FanBoy: Anakin has shown himself to be a fan of giant robots, such as Gundams, collecting both model and real ones, and has been shown to also collect star fighters. This hobby is also shared by Luke.
* GenreThrowback: The Star Wars loops, mostly due to being mostly written by one person (so far) who has admitted to having come into the loops from the original material and not being a Brony, are written in the more scene based style seen in the Innortal loops as oppose to the Narrative ones in the MLP and post MLP loops. However, it retains the continuity with the post Innortal quo and is not as prone to sexualization.
* [[LoveObstructingParents Love Obstructing Sith Lord]]: Anakin spends most of his time trying to get Han to stay away from Leia.
* MommasBoy/EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: Anakin to Shmi. As Gendo found out the hard way when Anakin found out what's inside a Eva....
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Barriss Offee ends up creating a Looping Sith Velociraptor after Looping into a version of Jurassic Park wherein all the dinosaurs are Force sensitive.
** Obi-Wan's attempt at setting up a 'Jedi Theocracy' loop was also this.
* NoodleImplements: Mentioned during a loop where Anakin mentored [[NiceGuy Bariss]], where somehow she ended up becoming a female version of [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Kamina]].
--> "All I did was de-train her from general Jedi stuffiness. Made her a bit less formal, gave her a sense of humor, introduced her to sugary soft drinks...and somehow that turned her into the daughter of either Kamina and Yoko, or Kamina and Haruhi"
* RunningGag: Anakin's dislike for Han Solo being his Son in Law.
** Anakin also seems to have a bad habit of being shot at with laser vision.
* OhCrap: Expressed quite often by Obi-Wan Kenobi, generally due to Anakin.
--> "Oh dear."
* PunchClockVillain: Anakin has been shown in some loops to play the villain in order to give loopers a level of entertainment they would not get from regular villains. This change in routine also helps loopers avoid insanity.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Anakin's reaction to a Sith Version of Padme or Shmi is basically this.
* WhatDoYouMeanitwasntmadeondrugs: Averted. Apparently the loop that Anakin, as Darth Vader, held a 'The View' esc talk show was caused by his coolant being spiked with something while the Emperor was experimenting with 'dark mushrooms'
