The ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible'' fanfic ''All Things Probable'' by Slyrr (aka Greg Fisk) introduces Team Probable, a group of [[ThePsychoRangers mercenary opposite numbers]] to Team Possible.

The story begins with a shadowy teenage figure defeating Team Go by outwitting Hego (admittedly not terribly difficult), and continues with Team Possible responding to what appears to be a routine tip about an impending theft. On that mission, Kim, Ron, and Rufus encounter Grimm Probable, his {{sidekick}} Rhonda Fatigable, and Rhonda's long-tailed weasel [[TeamPet Rueful]]. After some initial banter that reinforces the weird mirror-image duality, the two teams face off. During the confrontation, Wade's attempt at providing remote assistance is thwarted by Jade, Team Probable's hacker.

After holding Team Possible to a draw, Team Probable gets away, revealing that they weren't actually trying to steal anything -- they were just hired to run interference while their client made his own move. Kim is left unsure of herself, with Grimm's [[YouFightLikeACow gibes]] still ringing in her ears, but determined to win when they meet again.

!!This series provides examples of:

* AmbiguouslyEvil: "A Friend in Darkness" offers an [[AlternateCharacterInterpretation alternative view]] of Team Probable's activities: they work with villains in order to [[TheMole keep an eye on them]] and stop them from doing anything ''really'' bad. Grimm's parents and Dr. Director see it this way, with Global Justice giving them [[GetOutOfJailFreeCard "a certain amount of leeway"]] in return for intel. It's unclear whether this is the truth, just one of Grimm's headgames, or somewhere in between.
* ArbitrarySkepticism: In "A Friend in Darkness," Wade initially finds it difficult to accept that the {{golem}}s are a magical phenomenon rather than disguised high-tech, even though Team Possible has experience with mystically-powered opponents (particularly Monkey Fist, who is known to be involved in the current sitch).
* BadassNormal: Kim Possible and Grimm Probable, naturally.
* BatmanGambit: Maze uses one in 'Graduation' [[spoiler:to use Team Probable to locate Drakken.]]
* BecomingTheGenie: This is Kim and Wade's analysis of how Monkey Fist had to walk the Path of the Yono.
* BreakingSpeech: Grimm, Grimm, Grimm…why do you always feel the need to break the spirit of your foes with your viciously barbed tongue?
* TheCavalry: Two waves show up in "The Return of Zorpox" for the big battle. First, some of the Yamanouchi ninjas resist the [[MirrorMoralityMachine Mega Synaptic Transducer]] thanks to their mental disciplines, and come to recover the Lotus Blade from Zorpox. When they fail, most of Kim's [[RoguesGallery usual enemies]] ([[HeelFaceTurn turned good]] by the Transducer) show up to help her.
** Wade gets turned evil, leaving Kim [[MissingMissionControl cut off from external support]] until Jade (now turned good) takes over the job. Also, Bonnie (now good-natured and helpful) guards Kim's parents and brothers (now evil, but tied up to keep them out of trouble) while she takes care of business.
* TheChosenOne: Ron for the Mystical Monkey Power and [[spoiler: Rhonda]] for the Mystical Bear Power
* ColonyDrop: Attempted by Dementor at the start of "The Return of Zorpox", but foiled before any satellites fall.
* CombatPragmatist: In one of the side missions that come up during [[EnemyMine the two teams' alliance]], Grimm takes down Gill by dumping a bucket of salt on him. When Kim objects to the harshness of the tactic, he points out that it was painful but did no permanent damage, and [[WhatIsEvil sarcastically asks]] [[NotSoDifferent what makes it so much worse than]] [[TheMovie the time Kim kicked Shego into an electrical tower]].
** In general, Team Probable uses defense-oriented combat styles -- they aren't so much interested in "winning" fights as in getting the mission accomplished and getting away afterwards.
* ComicBookTime: While "A Friend In Darkness" took over four years to write, the events of the story occurred within a month.
* ConflictKiller: The beginning chapters of "A Friend In Darkness" has Team Possible dealing with Team Probable and their new tricks. However, when Monkey Fist and Maze appear and banish Ron and Rhonda, Kim and Grimm are forced to put aside their differences to save them and stop Monkey Fist and Maze.
* CoolCar: Kim and her car, which had the tech copied by Team Probable and used to make Grimm’s motorbike.
* CreepyCrows: Maze's power over shadows allowed him to command crows, which he used to mark statues with the symbols to turn them into golems.
* CutAndPasteNote: Team Probable is fond of this trope. Unfortunately, Grimm doesn't like it when Rhonda uses letters from 'Teen Scene'.
* DeceptiveDisciple: Maze is utterly self-assured that he is a true follower of the Great Bear Spirit, even after the Great Bear rejects him in favor of Rhonda and tells him in no uncertain terms that he's following the wrong path.
* DiplomaticImpunity: Thanks to his [[AssInAmbassador mother]], Team Probable is covered by this. Naturally, they take full advantage of it.
* DistaffCounterpart[=/=]SpearCounterpart: The members of Team Probable are the opposite genders from their Team Possible counterparts. (Exception: [[TeamPet Team Pets]] Rueful and Rufus are both "he".)
** The pattern carries over to many of the secondary characters in Team Probable's hometown of Riddleton.
* DoNotAdjustYourSet: Monkey Fist made a global ultimatum over the airwaves during the world wide golem attack.
* {{Doorstopper}}: "A Friend in Darkness" is 38 chapters and over 400,000 words (about quadruple the word count of the preceding stories combined).
* ElsewhereFic: "Graduation" (the fic) presents a wider perspective on the Lowardian invasion depicted in "Graduation" (the [[{{Canon}} episode]]).
* EnemyMine: After Ron and Rhonda are banished to the SpiritWorld in "A Friend in Darkness", the remainder of the two teams join forces to rescue them and to defeat Maze and Monkey Fist.
** Worth noting that it does NOT happen immediately after the two villains banish the sidekicks - it takes a couple chapters to happen. Grimm tries to talk Kim into doing it immediately, and she [[ShutUpHannibal calls him out on thinking she would trust him after all he had done]].
* {{Expy}}: The Moo Goo Guy is this of [[WesternAnimation/TheIncredibles the expanding gel that was used to trap Mr. Incredible]]. Wade even mentions it.
* EurekaMoment: During the final battle with Monkey Fist, Kim has one when Rhonda makes a remark about Grimm and Ron being there to lend a "hand", giving her the idea to [[spoiler:have Rhonda aim her Spirit Strike at Monkey Fist's hand with the Emet symbols]].
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: [[spoiler:As big of a ManipulativeBastard Grimm is, he never counted on Kim swallowing her pride and admitting to Ron that microchipping him without his consent was wrong. Cue his surprise next story when he sees Kim and Ron are just as cuddly as ever.]]
* [[FanSequel Fan Prequel]]: Another fanfic writer wrote [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3900910/1/Kim_Possible_Team_Probable_First_Odd_Job a story]] about Team Probable's first job as mercenary villains' helpers (rescuing the client from his own [[LaserHallway security lasers]], with obvious parallels to Kim Possible's first heroic mission). The {{original character}} villain from the story [[CanonImmigrant later appeared]] in "A Friend in Darkness".
* {{Fanservice}}: Rhonda taking a photo of herself in a sexy pose while wearing Grimm's battle suit? Check. [[spoiler: [[JustifiedTrope Though, with purpose as it lets her explain why she had Grimm's battle suit during her first time as Poxorza]]]].
* FeelNoPain: Monkey Fist, the magicked civilians [[spoiler: and Shego]]. They are made of stone, after all. This also expands into being immune to most damage, but not to being immobilized.
* FramingTheGuiltyParty: The "Framing Yourself" version: Kim discovers a scrapbook full of letters and photos that seem to clearly tie Team Probable to known villains. When Wade examines it, he discovers that it's a trap -- the documents are easily discredited forgeries, and an investigation would have discovered files in Wade's system (planted there by Jade) implicating him as the forger.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: [[spoiler:Rhonda]], as part of [[spoiler:her]] power. Naturally this startled [[spoiler:her]] when it first started to happen.
* GodzillaThreshold: Unstated, but FridgeBrilliance kicks in when you realize that Kim's attempt to branch Ron into using MMP actively in ''A Friend in Darkness'' is exactly this. Ron never showed signs of wanting to learn before or to try and harness his MMP. Kim was okay with that until they were at a serious firepower disadvantage from Grimm forcing Rhonda to learn her abilities.
* HonorAmongThieves: Team Probable is a group of mercenaries who hire themselves out to villains, typically to steal something or to run interference while their client steals something. They are also a close-knit group of [[TrueCompanions friends who genuinely care about each other]].
** The [[WordOfGod author's notes]] indicate that this was a deliberate aversion of the common stereotype of villains as {{Dirty Coward}}s afflicted with ChronicBackstabbingDisorder.
* HumanMail: After the golem situation is resolved, Jade forcibly sends Wade back to Middleton by crate. To add insult to injury, she labeled the crate "[[IncrediblyLamePun Wide Load]]".
* IAteWhat: The reaction from Monique when it's revealed that the Eco-La she drunk is actually Gill's mutating ooze. It gets worse she finds out how Gill [[SuperSpit produces it]].
* ImprovisedGolems: At first, Maze made golems the old-fashioned way, but once he got Monkey Fist's assistance, they started making golems out of petrified victims. Then [[spoiler: they transformed nearly all the statues in the world into golems]].
* ImHavingSoulPains: After being trapped in the SpiritWorld, Rhonda keeps feeling painful pins-and-needles sensations. Ron briefly feels the same thing after thinking that [[LaserGuidedKarma she deserves to suffer]], realizes that it's caused by malicious thoughts, and helps her take a laid-back attitude that frees her of the pain.
* InsecureLoveInterest: [[spoiler:After Kim's VisionQuest dredged up memories of how poorly she'd sometimes treated Ron, she decides that he deserves better and breaks up with him. Ron has a similar feeling during it when he wonders about Kim's line 'I think I love you' from ''Clean Slate'' is brought into question.]]
** [[spoiler: Fortunately, Grimm manages to use his sneaky tactics to get them in a position that gets them back together]].
* ItIsPronouncedTroPAY: Maze's name is pronounced "mah-zay". One RunningGag is that characters who were ''verbally told'' his name still need to be corrected on this point.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Grimm, who occasionally lets his good side slip when he doesn’t think anyone will notice.
* KidnappedScientist: Maze and Monkey Fist kidnap Dr. Drakken in order to supply the technical expertise needed for their plan. [[spoiler:They turn Shego into a golem to intimidate Drakken and keep an eye on him. Drakken eventually repays them by sneaking out a message revealing the location of their secret base.]]
* KillSat: Monkey Fist and Maze transformed the world's communication satellites into these thanks to the Ultra-Atmospheric Jammer, allowing them to broadcast their powers across the globe.
* LetsGetDangerous: Rhonda, particularly when she [[spoiler:taps into the Mystical Bear Power to take down Maze and save Grimm]].
* LostWorld: The town of Riddleton, kept off the maps by a GovernmentConspiracy to serve as a protected sanctuary for select high-level operatives and their families. Other than that, it's a typical American town much like Middleton.
* ManipulativeBastard: Grimm's preferred ''modus operandi'' is to get into his opponents' heads and psychologically undermine them or maneuver them into doing his bidding. This is evident from [[EstablishingCharacterMoment his first confrontation with Kim]], where he fights her to a draw while delivering a [[YouFightLikeACow scathing critique of her combat technique]] that seriously weakens her self-confidence.
** However, he differs from the classic ManipulativeBastard in that is genuinely loyal and honest toward his friends, though he's not above a few lies if he thinks it will help them, such as [[spoiler: "giving" Rhonda his courage so she'd use MBP against Maze.]]
* MayContainEvil: Gill shows up with a scheme to create an army of mutants like himself by [[{{Squick}} selling a new brand of soda containing doses of his slime]], using Camille Leon to advertise the cola by impersonating celebrities.
* MilitaryBrat: Grimm's father is a DoD General, which is part of why he gets his [[GetOutOfJailFreeCard leeway]].
* MirrorMoralityMachine: The Attitudinator from the series is used by Grimm to turn Ron into [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Zorpox]] again. Zorpox then kicks off an {{evil plan}} by building a "Mega Synaptic Transducer" that generates chaos by reversing people's good and evil natures ''worldwide''.
* MissingMissionControl: Wade is occasionally neutralized by Jade, and vice versa.
* MyFistForgivesYou[=/=]HitMeDammit: When he approaches Kim to form an alliance to rescue Rhonda and Ron, Grimm picks a fight with her on the theory that letting her vent her hostility will get it out of her system. It doesn't work, and when told Jade tears into him about the whole thing and dismisses his idea that it would work as [[MarsAndVenusGenderContrast "a guy thing"]].
* NearVillainVictory: [[spoiler: Monkey Fist and Maze nearly succeed in conquering the planet with their army of golems, if not for the return of Ron and Rhonda]].
* NobleDemon: Grimm has his moments, particularly when he [[spoiler:covertly manipulates Kim and Ron into getting back together after their breakup. Despite his [[IWasJustPassingThrough excuses]], it's pretty clear that he's doing it for Rhonda, who had told him that she wouldn't have made it through her SpiritWorld ordeal without Ron's help.]]
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: The two worst situations Grimm gets himself into resulted from acting on his better impulses. [[spoiler:In "Back to Kwitcherbeliakin", he helps Maze carry out a ritual out of genuine interest and curiosity about Maze's culture; it turns out that Maze intended to sacrifice him. In "A Friend in Darkness", he gets petrified after taking a shot meant for Kim.]]
* NotSoDifferent: Grimm incessantly attacks Kim's claim to moral superiority, [[YourApprovalFillsMeWithShame commenting approvingly]] on some of her more questionable actions, responding to her criticisms of ''his'' actions by reminding her of similar things she's done, and provoking her into attacking him for no reason other than to vent her anger.
--> Kim lashed out with a right hook. Grimm’s head snapped to the side and he grunted in pain. He turned back to stare at her, rubbing his chin, a slow smile creeping across his lips. "Welcome to the dark side, Kim Possible." He turned to Rhonda. "What did I tell you?" he said to her. "We didn't even ''need'' the Attitudinator for her."
** Not that Grimm is much better, regularly claiming moral superiority over Kim because he "trusts his friends". One of his claims is that she never trained Ron in using his powers [[FridgeLogic even though Ron never expressed any desire in learning to use them to her]]. Rhonda is actually rather nervous about taking advantage of her powers when he shares his plan, but Grimm as excited as an Ork about to get MoreDakka and pushes her into it. Despite claiming to trust his friends more, Grimm has a way of being as manipulative and domineering to his friends as Maze is.
* OfficialCouple: Much of the personal drama (see the PlayedForDrama entry) is derived from taking a closer look at some events in [[{{Canon}} the series]] and considering the implications for the Kim/Ron relationship.
* OmnidisciplinaryScientist: Wade and Jade. Justified (somewhat) with them both being supergeniuses that have studied in various disciplines.
* OptOut: When Grimm finds out about [[spoiler:Kim and Ron breaking up]], his first thought is to exploit the situation and put an end to Team Possible once and for all. When he gleefully describes his plans to Rhonda, she tells him that after the way Ron helped her in the SpiritWorld, she can't be a party to anything that would hurt him -- if Grimm wants to go ahead, he'll have to do it without her. [[spoiler: Instead, Grimm arranges to get Kim and Ron back together.]]
* PassThePopcorn: Ron and Grimm momentarily share a bag of popcorn while watching [[CatFight Kim and Rhonda fight]].
* PlayedForDrama: A number of incidents that were {{played for laughs}} on the [[{{Canon}} show]] are referenced and addressed seriously:
** In "The Return of Zorpox," Grimm extracts Ron's tracking chip and shows it to him, presenting it as proof that Kim and Wade are {{false friend}}s who have been secretly spying on him for years. [[spoiler:At the end of the story, Ron confronts Kim about it, and she admits to being in the wrong and asks for forgiveness.]]
** In "A Friend in Darkness," Ron (trapped in the SpiritWorld with nothing to do but think and talk) remembers times when he'd been thoughtless and immature in how he treated Kim. On her VisionQuest to rescue him, Kim is confronted with memories of occasions when she'd been thoughtless and condescending toward Ron. [[spoiler:This results in Ron making an effort to do better... which leaves Kim feeling even more guilty and convinced that she's not good enough for him.]]
* PoisonousFriend: During his [[EnemyMine temporary alliance]] with Kim, Grimm helps her in his own fashion, using methods such as blackmailing a [[StrawmanNewsMedia sensationalist reporter]] into backing off his anti-Kim-Possible spin and making Bonnie insecure about her future on the cheer squad so she'll quit acting so obnoxious. A variation on the usual trope in that it's not really motivated by loyalty, just cynical pragmatism and desire to prove his point that they're NotSoDifferent.
* ThePsychoRangers: Team Probable, to Team Possible.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Just like canonical examples.
* TheRedMage: Maze, who has channeled part of the Great Bear Spirit's power into himself and also mastered the creation of {{golem}}s (based on a Jewish mystical tradition) in addition to his own [[BlackMagic shadow medicine]].
* RelationshipSabotage: Some of Grimm's head games are designed to drive a wedge between Kim and Ron by planting the idea that Kim is just taking advantage of Ron and doesn't have any real respect for him.
** [[spoiler:Inverted at the end of "A Friend in Darkness," where Grimm manipulates Kim and Ron into getting back together.]]
* RightForTheWrongReasons: When Monkey Fist and Maze learn that the statue at Yamonouchi that was set to become a golem had been neutralized, Monkey Fist believed it was because either Kim or Grimm were there and had passed on the golems weakness to the ninjas. Monkey Fist was partially right. Kim ''was'' at Yamonouchi, but wasn't aware of the global golem scheme, with the real reason being that [[ContrivedCoincidence one of the ninjas at the school was a contact of Grimm's ally Twitch]].
* SideKick: Rhonda Fatigable (Ron's counterpart).
* SissyFight: Ron and Rhonda's first fight in "All Things Probable" consisted mostly of them trading slaps. Their fight in "A Friend In Darkness" [[TookALevelInBadass is completely different]].
* SlapSlapKiss: During a heated argument, Wade ends up doing this Jade when their faces get to close. It ends up throwing them off their game for a bit due to being unable to one up each other.
* SpiritWorld: Ron and Rhonda spend much of "A Friend in Darkness" isolated in the SpiritWorld after being [[TrappedInAnotherWorld banished]] by Maze. They are occasionally able to see what their friends are doing and make tenuous contact (usually just a vague impression of their invisible presence).
* StatusQuoIsGod: The stories are written to fit seamlessly into the {{canon}}ical continuity between episodes of the PostscriptSeason.
** "All Things Probable" is set any time after ''Mad Dogs and Aliens'' as both Drakken and Shego are now free to continue their schemes after the events of ''So The Drama''.
** "The Return of Zorpox" occurs shortly before ''Clothes Minded'', as both teams are still in their normal mission wear.
** "Back to Kwitcherbeliakin" occurs shortly after ''Stop Team Go'', as Electronique pulled a similar stunt to the above fic close enough that no one knows who did it first, and Team Probable's normal supply of mission clothes was cut off just as Kim's was.
** "A Friend in Darkness" takes place after all episodes except ''Graduation'' and references many of them heavily. The story's epilogue also leads into some of Ron's fears during the episode and has Maze stumbling across [[spoiler: one of Warhok's symbols]]
** "Graduation" takes place just before and during the events of the actual episode, even including a few scenes such as [[spoiler:Team Probable making a VillainExitStageLeft on Killigan's Island as Kim and Ron are sneaking on.]]
* SummerCampy: Camp Kwitcherbeliakin, which Rhonda enjoyed about as much as Ron enjoyed his summer at Camp Wannaweep.
** The irony is that her camp wasn't out to get her like Ron's, it was her own dislike of nature that made her miserable.
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: Ron, in "The Return of Zorpox".
* TakenForGranite: In "A Friend In Darkness," Maze recovers Monkey Fist's stone body and side-steps the Yono's curse with a {{golem}} enchantment, effectively reviving him as an sentient animated statue. The villains then use the Yono's petrification power and the golem enchantment to create an ever-growing army.
* TeamPet: Rueful (Rufus' counterpart).
* TalkingIsAFreeAction: Subverted. When the Great Bear Spirit gives Rhonda an infodump, he has slowed time down so they had the room to talk things out. To Rhonda, she had a full conversation with the GBS. To Maze, only a few seconds passed.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: Kim and Grimm may find it necessary to cooperate to rescue their partners and stop Maze and Monkey Fist, but the friction between them remains intense. Throughout the duration of their alliance, Kim keeps her eyes open for any chance to pin something on Grimm that will put him behind bars, and Grimm never lets up in his verbal sniping at what he considers Kim's [[SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids naive]] and sanctimonious attitude.
* TooSpicyForYogSothoth: Due to Ron's [[IncorruptiblePurePureness lack of darkness in his heart]], he is impervious to Maze's dark mind control.
* UnwittingPawn: Team Probable uses Adrena Lynn as a distraction to keep Team Possible busy while they pull off a few of their own capers.
* VillainEpisode: "Back to Kwitcherbeliakin" is a Team Probable story, with only brief cameos by Team Possible.
* WhoWouldBeStupidEnough: When Grimm comments that only a fool would fall for the Eco-La commercial, which is a front for Gill's mutagen, Monique snaps that ''she'' drunk some of it.
** Done again with their own version of "Graduation"
* VillainProtagonist: Team Probable, especially in "Back to Kwitcherbeliakin", "A Friend in Darkness", and "Graduation".
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: Team Probable. They even have [[AmoralAttorney a lawyer]] on retainer to deal with anyone tarnishing their ‘good’ names.
* VillainousBreakdown: During the climatic battle with Monkey Fist in "A Friend In Darkness", the normally suave and sophisticated villain loses his temper and goes into a state that Kim sees as similar to the original Yono.
* VillainsNeverLie: [[spoiler:Grimm shows Kim a glass bulb that allegedly contains Ron's extracted good side and then destroys it, after which he lays out the SadisticChoice of letting Ron remain Zorpox forever or stealing somebody else's good side in order to restore him. It never occurs to her to doubt Grimm's word until he reveals the ''real'' vessel containing Ron's good side, thereby keeping Kim occupied with restoring Ron to normal while [[VillainExitStageLeft Team Probable leaves the scene]].]]
* VisionQuest: Kim goes to Yamanouchi and communes with the Mystical Monkey to retrieve Ron (and Rhonda) from the SpiritWorld. [[spoiler:Along the way, she is confronted with [[FightingDownMemoryLane memories]] of times she'd treated Ron poorly, leading to a final [[BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind confrontation]] with "Ron's worst enemy"... [[MirrorMatch herself]].]]
* WakeUpGoToSchoolSaveTheWorld: The issues of juggling school, life, and missions are pretty much the same for Grimm and Rhonda as they are for Kim and Ron.
* WaterSourceTampering: Invoked by Kim when she thought that Gill was putting his mutating muck into Middleton's water supply. Grimm nixed the idea as the water would dilute it too much and even if it worked, the mutation cases would be more wider spread than what they'd been hearing.
* WarriorTherapist: Grimm, adept at simultaneously fighting and head-gaming his opponents.
