Comics have been around for decades and have a strong, devoted fanbase. Is it any wonder they've accumulated so many {{Fan Nickname}}s?

* Right Hand of Doom - Hellboy's RedRightHand
* Helldad - ComicBook/{{Hellboy}}'s demon father, who is a demon prince, rather than ''the'' devil, in the comics. His name is most likely Azzael, but this is not revealed until many issues after his first appearance.
* Phone books - the ''ComicBook/TwoThousandAD'' {{trade paperback}}s published by Rebellion, which have similar physical dimensions to phone books. Also frequently used to describe the trade paperbacks that ''ComicBook/CerebusTheAardvark'' was reprinted in, even by the actual creator.
* Rohmagol - The fan theory that "Rohlan Dyre" in the ''ComicBook/KnightsOfTheOldRepublic'' comics, starting with issue 14, is actually Demagol in his armor, posing as him.
* Tower Head Girl - the so far nameless super who has a 5-foot cylinder of greebled metal growing out of her head in ''Comicbook/{{Empowered}}''.
* The Moose - the monster in the wall in ''ComicBook/JohnnyTheHomicidalManiac''. So called because one character says it sounds like either [[Literature/TheRatsInTheWalls rats in the walls]] or possibly a moose, and later there's a note saying 'definately not a moose'.
* In Brazil, Michonne from ComicBook/TheWalkingDead is often called Machona/Machonna (something like "manly girl").
** Governator: the Governor after [[spoiler:coming BackFromTheDead]].
* The Yellow Bastard of ''ComicBook/SinCity''. In the book, he's only referred to as Junior.
* Lovecats/Luvcats seems to be picking up steam for the cat-like creatures in Issue ''ComicBook/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicIDW''#3. Katie Cook apparently just calls them [[http://comments.deviantart.com/4/778411/2898536711 "the cute citizens of wuvy-dovey land."]]
** Commander Cocoon for the green armored advisor of Queen Chrysalis in that same issue.
** [[spoiler: Nightmarity and Night Rare Moon for Nightmare Rarity]].
* ComicBook/{{Vampirella}} is often called "Vampi" (except by her sidekick Pantha, who calls her "Vamps"). Cue Harris jumping the Anime Bandwagon and call the result "Vampi" too. Confusion ensues.
* [=Nu252=] - the post ''ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogMegaManWorldsCollide'' universe for ''ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogArchieComics'', due to the fact that the start of its "reboot" occurred on issue #252, also a play on ''ComicBook/TheNew52''.
* Ultimate Lesiban Nicole - Overclocked Nicole the Holo-Lynx from ''Sonic Universe'', thanks to the HoYay between Nicole and Sally and the fact that her pink color scheme resembles the Lesbian Pride flag.
* ''ComicBook/HolyTerror'': Due to WhatCouldHaveBeen.
** The Fixer is Not-Batman.
** Natalie Stack is Not-Catwoman.
** Dan Donagel is Not-Jim Gordon.
* ''ComicBook/AlbedoErmaFelnaEDF'':
** ''Nazi Bunnies'', or ''Communist Bunnies'': The Independent Lepine Republic, because they are basically space [[ANazibyAnyOtherName Nazi]] [[KillerRabbit rabbits]], [[CowboyBebopAtHisComputer despite their ideology has nothing to do with communism in the case of the second nickname]].
** ''Dr. K'': Dr. Elaki Kalahahaii, because [[TheUnpronounceable many fans cannot pronounce her name correctly]]. Even the author himself has used that nickname too for the same reasons.
** ''Former Boyfriend [=McAsshole=]'': Tavas Ikalik, who was the titular heroine's former boyfriend and being ''one hell'' of a DomesticAbuser.

[[folder:People/Other]]

* The Big Two - [[Franchise/MarvelUniverse Marvel]] and [[Franchise/TheDCU DC]].
* The King - Not Elvis, but Creator/JackKirby, comic book writer and artist who co-created 90% of UsefulNotes/{{the Silver Age|of Comic Books}} Franchise/MarvelUniverse with Stan "The Man" Lee, and created {{ComicBook/Darkseid}} and the ComicBook/NewGods, along with many other characters and concepts, over in Franchise/TheDCU. Owing to this, many other fan nicknames derive from his name.
** Creator/StanLee claims to have coined both the "King" nickname as well as "Jolly Jack" for Kirby. He indeed coined many such nicknames, usually of the rhyming or alliterative type to make Marvel's employees more well-known and "accessible" to the fans, and more than a few were taken up by the fans, including "Smilin' Stan" Lee, "Sturdy Steve" Ditko (a nickname Ditko himself disliked), Gene "the Dean" Colan, and "Jazzy Johnny" Romita (Sr., aka John "Ring-a-Ding" Romita).
** Alan Moore's ''ComicBook/TopTen'' referenced Kirby's style several times, as well as referring to a version of him existing within Top 10 continuity known as "King", who painted murals of Science Heroes in a similar manner to Creator/NormanRockwell painting murals of people.
** Kirby hats - Jack Kirby designed a number of characters with weird helmets. Galactus is a good example.
** Kirby tech - Machinery that is covered with a mess of buttons, wires, tubes, and other visually interesting details.
** KirbyDots - Stylistic manner of depicting energy.
*** Also known as "Kirby Krackle".
* D'n'A/[=DnA=] - Creator/DanAbnett and Andy Lanning, writing partners for Marvel's cosmic line in the 2000s and (for at least some period time) ComicBook/TheAuthority.
* Michiyamenotehi Funana - Pat Lee, as a result of some [[BlindIdiotTranslation poorly chosen]] [[GratuitousJapanese katakana]] [[http://tfwiki.net/w2/images2/6/69/FuNaNa.jpg he once used.]]
** Frequently shortened to Superstar Funana, based on Dreamwave hyping him as a "superstar artist".
* "'''D'''istinguished '''C'''ompetition" - a phrase occasionally seen in Marvel comics. Guess whom they mean.
** Stan would also refer to his competitors in the '60s as "Brand Echh"
* Marvel artist John Romita Jr. has sometimes been known as JRJR.
* Creator/PeterDavid is sometimes called PAD online. (His middle name is Allen.) To scans_daily, of course, he is now He Who Must Not Be Posted.
* "The American Creator/ShirowMasamune" for Creator/SteveGallacci, the creator of ''ComicBook/AlbedoErmaFelnaEDF'', ''WebComic/AloneTogether'' and others, partly because both authors have a knack for creating dystopic futuristic stories with ''lots'' of [[ShownTheirWork interesting background details]] and ''lots'' of [[{{Fanservice}} beautiful girls]].
