[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3933832/1/Harry_Potter_and_the_Invincible_TechnoMage Harry Potter and The Invincible TechnoMage]] is a ''Franchise/HarryPotter''[=/=]''ComicBook/IronMan'' Crossover Fanfic written by [[http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1298529/Clell65619 Clell65619]]. The plot involves a 5 year old Harry and the Dursleys visiting Stark Enterprises. Dudley accidentally causes a chain reaction that kills the Dursleys but Harry is saved by accidental magic. [[IronMan Tony Stark]] at first shocked that someone survived the explosion eventually decides to adopt Harry giving him the name he is known by throughout the fic: Harry Stark.

At its heart the story is a crossover between Franchise/HarryPotter and the MarvelUniverse with increasing cameos from Marvel outside of IronMan. Eventually Harry is found by Dumbledore and invited to Hogwarts on his eleventh birthday. Harry is reluctant, but having been told of the dire consequences should he not go eventually convinces him that he is needed at Hogwarts.

!!Tropes shown in this work include:

* BadassAdorable: Harry Stark, Franklin Richards.
* BrickJoke: When Sirius is waiting to meet Tony he has a slinky and a yo-yo to keep himself occupied. Later on Snape mentions that these two toys were fads during his school days and that [[spoiler: he tried to set a school record for most steps descended by a slinky]].
* TheCameo: Tons and tons of MarvelUniverse characters are referenced, both well known and obscure. There are also a few brief but specific references to DCComics characters like Franchise/{{Batman}} and GreenArrow.
* ChildrenRaiseYou: Tony is noticeably more mature and self-controlled than he is in Marvel canon due entirely to having raised Harry.
* ChivalrousPervert: Harry seems like a budding example of one in this story with the way he talks to Hermione and Padma Patil.
** [[JustifiedTrope He WAS raised by Tony Stark...]]
* CurbstompBattle: The MarvelUniverse outclasses the PotterVerse in almost every way in this story. Not only can a {{Muggle}} like IronMan breach the security wards of Hogwarts (finding it with the help of Captain Britain and Meggan, two magical MarvelUniverse heroes), Harry was trained by ''Comicbook/DoctorStrange'' of all people, effectively eliminating his need for a magical education. Also, magical culture is shown to be stagnant and backwards, filled with ridiculous amounts of FantasticRacism and corrupt to high heaven. The two reasons the Potterverse shows up at all is because Harry can't [[BecauseDestinySaysSo avoid the prophecy]], and because (per WordOfGod) even though there exist god-like beings (as well as actual gods) in the Marvel Universe, many of them focus more on the Galactuses and the Doctor Dooms, while leaving lesser heroes to take care of lesser villains, which Voldemort counts as in this world.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Tracey Davis' grandfather orders her to seduce Harry in order to ensure the Potter fortune ends up in the Davis' family's hands. Any actions Tracey takes as just being Harry's friend are mostly taken as in-roads towards fulfilling those orders, without taking into account that, maybe, she cares not for the orders.
* ForWantOfANail: Due to being raised by Tony, Harry ends up in Ravenclaw instead of Gryffindor. Hermione does as well. Also, see ChildrenRaiseYou.
* FriendlyEnemy: Harry manages to turn Draco, Crabbe and Goyle into these, and Draco in this story on some level seems to see Harry as a WorthyOpponent.
* GuileHero: Harry.
* {{Kidfic}}: The premise of the story is Tony Stark raising Harry Potter.
* {{MagiTech}}: After Reed Richards from the ComicBook/FantasticFour discovers how PotterVerse magic works, Tony uses this knowledge to design IronMan armours that can work within Hogwarts' anti-technology field(such as the exo-skeleton he gives Harry). Later on, Muggle electronics such as cell phones and CD players are introduced to Hogwarts, causing much frustration to Dumbledore. Finally, Harry's senior project is to design a magical computer that partially involves replacing circuits with ancient runes.
** Dumbledore doesn't like that the electronics can now run off Hogwarts' magic, which is draining the wards of the school. Chandrahas Patil, Parvati and Padma's father, had built a tower outside of Hogsmeade on property he owned, and both he and Tony are partners in a Magical Consumer Electronics Shop in Diagon Alley. Filius and Snape tell Dumbledore once the novelty wears off, they'll be back to normal.
* MuggingTheMonster: A hick wizard that had been living in NYC by robbing rich teens makes the mistake of taking Franklin hostage since he deemed Neville and Harry,both wizards to be a bigger threat. While Harry by himself can decimate half of the city before he is stopped. Frankin, being an omega class mutant can destroy all the world if he loses control.
* MugglesDoItBetter: Reed Richards utterly defies his own [[ReedRichardsIsUseless trope]] (while playing [[AlternateUniverseReedRichardsIsAwesome another one]] dead straight) and makes Harry-Potter magic functional around technology, and Tony manages to make a cheap energy source out of it.
* NiceHat: Sirius gets one.
-->'''Sirius''': It seems the ladies love a boat, and the ladies love the Captain of a fast boat the most.
-->'''Harry''': You're the captain?
-->'''Sirius''': As far as they know. ''[points to his hat]'' I've got a hat. Never underestimate the power of a good hat.
* NoodleIncident: Apparently Reed Richards' robotic butlers have a tendency to go nuts.
--> "If this one ran amok and tried to kill them like the last two had, she and her loving husband would be having words about the capabilities he designed into his robotic domestics."
* NotSoHarmless: Captain America taught Harry to take advantage of the fact that people usually underestimate young children. In a flashback Harry is seen kicking a would be kidnapper's ass.
* OhCrap: Tony gives a joking version of this when he hears that Sirius Black has a Slinky. ItMakesSenseInContext.
** Another one given as a reaction to Sirius, a group of terrorists show up at a charity dinner to do general terrorist/robber things. Sirius, trying to play himself off as a costumed hero, decides to call himself "The Wizard," inadvertently taking the name of a fairly notorious Marvel Supervillain. The reaction subsides when the terrorists/robbers realize that it isn't the same Wizard that they were thinking of, but comes back when Sirius beats them all.
** Harry's usual reaction to Steve Rogers's TrainingFromHell.
** Once Snape realizes Master Alchemist Esteban Corazón de Ablo was the one who belittled him in front of the staff, he puts one on (as he had de Albo's text which included brews he didn't evey try to make himself). Dumbledore gets one as he finds de Albo's found Neville's the student that inspired the Alchemist to teach again ("The boy has potential, a sense of wonder, and a willingness to learn I've rarely encountered over the years.")--and considering NEVILLE for an apprenticeship (which Dumbledore himself never got from de Albo).
* PapaWolf: Tony Stark becomes this to Harry.
* PowerLimiter: Harry has one for his [[spoiler: Chaos magic]].
** As does [[Comicbook/FantasticFour Franklin Richards]], Harry's best friend.
* ThePrankster: The Weasley Twins are as usual [[spoiler: and Neville, after he gets alchemy training from Master Alchemist Esteban Corazón de Ablo, letting him brew a potion will let him animate anything it touches for half an hour to his commands. This is a big role in him helping his classmates get the better of Kree who kidnap them: make enlarged duplicates of SpiderMan action figures that respond to Neville]].
* ScrewYouElves: The tone of this story is ''very'' much on the side of Marvel and very harsh towards Wizarding Culture. Not individual wizards or witches, mind you, but to the culture itself, which is portrayed as ridiculously racist and [[MedievalStasis stagnant]].
* ShoutOut: There's a brief reference to Gotham City from the DCUniverse put in as an in-joke. Also, Harry is reading a {{Garfield}} book while on trial by the Ministry as they attempt to declare Tony Stark's adoption illegal.
** Also, there's a nod to the [[Film/IronMan 2008 Iron Man film]] where Tony and Harry discuss [[CelebrityParadox who should play the former in a biopic of his life]], and Harry thinks that Creator/RobertDowneyJr did a good job in ''Chaplin'', so...
*** After offering Burt Reynolds as a first choice.
** While he has Neville in the States, Harry and Franklin bring him to an arcade, where he turns out to be a prodigy at playing {{Terminator}}.
* StrawLoser: Severus, Dumbledore, Fudge... pretty much the fic is a continual "You suck" to the Magical World and the Potterverse.
* TakeThat: In addition to the discussion of "Who would play the cast of an Iron Man Movie" mentioned above, Tony scoffs at the idea that Jarvis would be played by an A.I and not a human being like the ''real'' Jarvis (who in the comics is the BattleButler of [[ComicBook/TheAvengers The Avengers]]).
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Grab any chapter. ANY CHAPTER. If you don't found at least three by the end you are reading the wrong fic.
* ThreeAmigos: The Ravenclaw trio of Harry, Hermione and Padma.
* TooDumbToLive: The Dursleys. Dudley causes an accident that causes not only their deaths but others that were trying to stop them.
** Dudley is almost excusable. Worse is the fact Vernon actually ''hindered'' attempts to get Dudley to stop.
* WhatDoesThisButtonDo: Dudley takes this UpToEleven. Leading to explosive results, and kickstarting the story.
* YouCantFightFate: After the Wizegamot led by Fudge, Umbridge and Dumbledore try to separate Harry from Tony in order "to fulfill his destiny," The Boy Who Lived is [[ScrewDestiny not about to help do so]]. After this, Madame Web tells Harry he'll eventually have to face Voldemort, but [[SadisticChoice does he face his parents' murderer in three years, or after Voldemort consoldated power in Britain (and none of Harry's acquaintances survived it)?]] For the sake of his friends, he goes back (but not without some guarantees on both sides this time).
